It has been said on here that there is interest in draxler but I also see links to cabellos of Madrid. Would it be a case of one or the other or is the cabellos interest not real?

Keep up the great work.

Dmj1978

{Ed002's Note - I have explained over and over about interest in Ceballos - but they play in different positions.}

16 Feb 2018 10:24:15
Apparently Malcom has an agreement to let him leave in the summer was wondering or maybe hoping we had an interest? Think more likely arsenal or Tottenham.

Dmj1978

{Ed002's Note - Bordeaux's Malcom is a Mane/Salah type player so it does not make sense to me unless one of them leaves - but Liverpool were watching him last season before buying Salah. As for now, I would forget him moving to Liverpool.}

1.) 16 Feb 2018 12:06:21
I thought he played "in the middle"?

{Ed002's Note - He is a right winger who can play on the left wing or as a forward - but he is naturally a right winger.}

2.) 16 Feb 2018 12:40:18
I don't think you got what Willo did there Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - Ok.}

3.) 16 Feb 2018 13:20:44
Maybe we could move salah up top?

We seemed to be after griezzman, so certainly another attacking left footed option

Or even mane back to the right and a left footed player actually on the left, again we were also after lemar.

This move could make sense.

4.) 16 Feb 2018 13:39:22
Cheers ed.

5.) 16 Feb 2018 15:43:27
Putmanebackontheright - let's just leave them how they are, why change? they're all scoring for fun, it needs to keep that way. To me, we don't need any reinforcements up top, its a GK, a RB and a CM what's needed in that order, we don't need players to cover the likes of Salah, Mane or Firmino not when we have the youngsters ready to come through as well. There's plenty more important positions what are in need first, unless we can get Pulisic of course then it's a different matter but that won't happen.

6.) 16 Feb 2018 15:49:56
Timo werner please.

7.) 16 Feb 2018 16:01:37
I think we need better backup for the front 3. Current backups include Ings, solanke, the ox, woodburn and maybe lallana. This wouldn’t be good enough if we suffer a few injuries. Firmino is the critical part for me and gels us together. I’d take a young striker and winger in the summer, and obviously a gk.

{Ed002's Note - These players don't get many games right now - why would players join not to play? Promises have been made to Solanke - others won't arrive without some sort of commitment.}

8.) 16 Feb 2018 17:27:50
Why do supporters continue to clamor on about needing a new center forward? You could count on one hand the number of strikers who could come in and improve our front three. This is not Real Madrid or PSG, where a collection of talented individuals are preferred. LFC relies on a team culture, and it would be mad to disrupt the chemistry that our front three has. Right now, it truly feels like poetry in motion. I suggest those who want a new striker actually watch our games and enjoy the spectacle, rather than worrying about what striker you want to see as a Red.

9.) 16 Feb 2018 17:45:27
Putmane, you mean move Salah up the top to replace our No 9?

Really?

10.) 16 Feb 2018 19:56:49
to play up top with Firmino Zeddicus, Klopp has played Salah up top with Firmino a lot this season.

11.) 16 Feb 2018 21:48:05
Why do we need to tinker with the front three? To me, pursuing Lemar, Meyer or Isco makes the only sense because, despite "not needing" Coutinho, we have a severe lack of creativity in the midfield now. There's a serious need for a No.10 who can work the ball around, see openings and channels for our front three to run into. Our two most creative types, Firmino and Henderson, are in the front and in a holding role. You could argue that Lallana qualifies as a creative type, but I really wonder if he knows how to play that way anymore, given that he spends 100% effort on pressing and getting the ball back.

The Porto game should have amply made it clear. Our centrebacks were playing tiki-taka with each other for most of the game, until they saw an opening for one of the front three to run into. And with the pace all 3 have, if the ball and the runner got through then it ended up as a chance on goal. The midfield was being bypassed, when we had possession, most of the time. And became active only when we lost possession and we started to press or get the ball back. But what do we do for the next game when either Salah or Mane (or both) are shut down (and trust me, that can happen because professional football teams adapt and strategize to counter strengths)?

12.) 16 Feb 2018 21:49:58
I think we could upgrade in a few positions in the summer (keeper, cm ) but the front 3 are nearly impossible to upgrade on . They have everything liverpool and klopp are about pace power aggression passion .
I think our back up options could be improved upon . But I’d love to see the likes of Woodburn Ojaria grujic solanke Trent get given opportunities to make the fans and the club think twice about buying players . I’m all for people making the step up .

13.) 16 Feb 2018 23:09:54
I agree, people get too caught up with the term striker. Firmino has 12 so far 6 assists and salah 22 and 7 assists. mane has 6 with 5 assists, plus he had a bit of a dip in form. People moaning oh you need 20 a season. Salah has brushed past that, firmino could well end up close to 20.

We are better off with a dynamic front 3 who play the most amazing football. Not only that but the chemistry they have is great, supporting each other. You wouldn't get a bet player in Salah and Firmino positions and Mane looks back to his best. Why on earth would you want to disrupt those 3.

Would hate to bring in a player who thinks they are the dogs boll*cks and has to be centre of attention, disrupts the team as a whole.

Spurs without Kane would be far worse off. Son has had a good season but Kane is their main goal scorer. Look at UTD, Lukaku hasn't shown up this season really, they have scraped some 1-0s like they usually do.

Even if one of our front 3 is injured/ off pace, the other 2 hopefully will provide something, that's the advantage about spacing the goals.

Phil is still up there with 7 goals 6 assists, I don't think we have to bring in a goal scoring MF with out current 3, but it just shows that goals can be well balanced around the team, it's better if a team can achieve this with multiple threats than just one main man!

14.) 16 Feb 2018 23:16:23
"Promises have been made to Solanke"
:D
Sure, if he plays good or scores enough goals.

15.) 17 Feb 2018 02:14:40
All I stated was that Macca who you all trust said we were after griezzman.

A striker.

Ed001 has confirmed we were after lemar but didn't think there was value there.

Malcolm is a left footed attacking player, like those two.

We don't want to over pay for lemar and griezzman probably rejected us, so maybe we were looking at Malcolm as an alternative.

How would we fit him in and why are we targeting a left footed attacked.

Maybe is it to move someone.

The only ones who could move our mane and salah.

What could happen,?

Salah up top, mane back to the right and the left footer on the left or have salah up top and Malcolm on the right?

Read what people say you idiots. Belittling someone to come across as better is pathetic.

As far as clamouring for another forward. Well on one hand you should never stand still if there is someone to improve your team, where ever that player might play.

You fit quality in your team and that's ed001s words.

You think is would be so bad to add another good player to that attacking front 3? Or maybe to have a good strong player so we can rotate, because your poetry in motion will come to abrupt end if we pick up any knocks.

{Ed0333's Note - I only watch very little of French football and only really to watch Fekir consequently my knowledge of Malcolm isn’t profound but he looks like he could easily fit into our team. And I agree if one of Salah or Mane got injured we’d be snookered. But why would Malcolm come to Liverpool to sit on the bench when he would play every week at Arsenal?

16.) 17 Feb 2018 11:08:58
Well depends on the player if he thinks he could be better then mane in the team and is willing to fight

Look at city's squad sane David Silva and Jesus were all missing and you would bearly notice.

17.) 17 Feb 2018 11:17:40
This is not an upgrade. It’s adding value and quality. The front three wouldn’t last 60 games next season and out back up currently are AOC, Solanke, Ings and Lallana are not even close to the quality of front three
Malcom is a very good player. But my choice would be Bailey. He will take us to the next level! But I agree we need another winger!

18.) 18 Feb 2018 00:10:26
Bailey would be my choice too, think the lad is only 20 yrs old, I think next season we will stay longer in the two domestic cups, so even more games, we will need to rotate and give the squad players more game time .
up front, we will need to rest the three, so one more quality player is needed .

19.) 18 Feb 2018 00:36:26
Ed333, I'd absolutely love Fekir at LFC!

For me he's better rounded and much stronger than Lemar. oh and cheaper as well. Lemar is way overpriced.

{Ed0333's Note - Did you know that Fekir means impoverished in Arabic? That’s ironic because the next contract he signs will make him a squillionaire. I’d love him at Liverpool mate but I’m concerned hes Arsenal bound.

20.) 19 Feb 2018 10:50:46
I just don't understand how Fekir thinks going to Arsenal will give him guaranteed game time, beyond stupid, he will be behind Ozil, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang and Lacazette, he is a number 10 or a Firmino type striker. Would be an idiotic move for both sides.

{Ed001's Note - behind Mkhitarayan? Not a chance, he is twice the player the Armenian will ever be. He would walk into that side.}

21.) 19 Feb 2018 11:10:38
He is better than their whole front line ed, that's not the point i was trying to make, they just signed Mkhitaryan and Aubameyang as KEY players and renewed Ozil's contract at over 300 k a week and still have lacazette. There will be some very unhappy overpaid players at Arsenal next season then.

{Ed001's Note - you said he would be beyond stupid if he thinks he would get guaranteed game time, so whatever point you were trying to make was nonsense. He would walk into their team and it really does not matter who was signed previously, just ask Lacazette.}

22.) 19 Feb 2018 11:34:09
Nonsense is a bit rough. but it's your opinion not gospel or fact. In the french league Depay, Lacazette, Bernardo Silva, Bakayoko looked like absolute world beaters. we'll see. Lyon will also ask crazy money, not sure he would be cheaper than Lemar. Lacazette is the reason i have this opinion in the first place. He was Lyon's best player and their legend. So yeah, just look at him. :S.

{Ed001's Note - how is it a bit rough when you even disagreed with it in your previous reply?}

12 Feb 2018 14:17:08
Just wondering eds if max Meyer was still of interest and what are your thoughts on Pinchi rumours? Cheers.

Dmj1978

{Ed002's Note - The interest in Meyer remains but the club has not pushed for a pre-contract so that may well hint it is waning whist otehr are keen as well. I am not aware of any "Pinchi" rumours that involve Liverpool, sorry.}

1.) 12 Feb 2018 20:27:00
Apparently Pinchi has been linked with us in a rag today!

2.) 13 Feb 2018 07:21:48
I’d take that rumour with a pinchi of salt if I were you.

I’ll get my coat lads 😅.

3.) 13 Feb 2018 08:07:42
That was so bad I had to Pinchi myself. we could do this all day!

4.) 13 Feb 2018 11:25:14
all this pinchi is hurting the site. please staaahp!

5.) 13 Feb 2018 23:06:34
Homer Simpson’s pet lobster.

10 Aug 2017 13:29:16
I see rumours of luan doing the rounds again I assume it's recycled news.

Dmj1978

{Ed002's Note - I may have mentioned something a couple of days ago.}

1.) 10 Aug 2017 13:56:49
Ed002 mentions the name Luan in a response a couple of days ago and before long the rest of the internet catches up.

That's why i trust this site.

Either other journos have seen Ed's post and copied it, or Ed002 was first to reveal it.

Either way, this is the site to trust.

2.) 10 Aug 2017 13:59:55
Can see the headlines now if he were to play up front with salah. mo the luan!

3.) 10 Aug 2017 14:53:26
Surely mane mo the luan.

4.) 10 Aug 2017 14:59:33
i can't get my head around this rumour. I don't rate the guy at all.

5.) 10 Aug 2017 15:17:36
I see you put summin on Luan ws yesterday mate. Tbh I had forgot about him as it was said as not happening.

6.) 10 Aug 2017 16:59:59
Based on what josh? All that Brazilian league football you've watched? 🙄.

7.) 10 Aug 2017 19:49:35
I'd rather give our academy players a chance, if he's half decent he'll be off to Barcelona in a yr or 2.

8.) 10 Aug 2017 20:03:00
yes. he is very slow has a poor touch and is nowhere near as good as our current back ups.

9.) 10 Aug 2017 20:52:08
Liverpool have a knack of unearthing brilliant strikers. Don't know much about luan but clips look fantastic. I hope this rumour is true. I know we have a lot of strikers but.

Sturridge is injury stricken. He can't kick a ball without hurting himself.
Origi is not yet at a level where we can rely on him totally. Not good enough YET to be our number one.
Solanke looks great and I hope he starts a lot this year. Think how good he will be in two/ three years if he gets the experience to go with his obvious class. He is not there yet though.
Ings is unfit and out of action. No way he can be our number one.
That leaves firminio. Brilliant player BEHIND the main striker. A great striker in his own right but not clinical enough to be our main striker. Not a 20+ guy and if he was we would lose the creativity he brings.

That's it then. I think sturridge was the big hope this year and let's hope he shakes off this latest niggle.

If not, where does that leave us? I think bringing in a young, well rated, Brazilian striker would be great for morale of fans and players alike (especially pc) and ease the pressure that will surely be placed on origi and solanke at times this year. It's not like we're skint. Go for it klopp. Why not?

10.) 11 Aug 2017 01:05:47
We should sign that Aspas guy from Spain, he's phenomenal.

07 Aug 2017 14:55:43
Eds or macca can you confirm or deny the reported interest in the Moroccan guy from Ajax Hakim Ziyech?

Dmj1978

{Ed002's Note - If there is interest then that would not be a complete surprise. There has been no approach to Ajax as of this morning.

"Hoffenheim and Sampdoria were disappointed with January 2016 rejections for Hakim Ziyech who chose to move to Ajax in the summer of 2016 over interest from Fenerbahce, Dortmund, CSKA Moscow, Sunderland, Swansea and Southampton. Other sides including Inter, Roma, Crystal Palace Leicester all looked to the player when he was at Twente. His agent has said that "Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs have come from England to watch my player" - who comes with a great deal of baggage - but there is nothing to substantiate that at all. Chelsea has a player on loan at Ajax, Spurs took a look at Dolberg and Liverpool, unless Coutinho is leaving, may have done the same."}

1.) 07 Aug 2017 15:43:20
I can see it now,

Andre gomes
Oxlade Chamberlain
Vvd
Maybe this ziyech or meyer.

Business done. Just guessing from rumours and bits floating about and if I'm honest I'd take that at this point lol.

2.) 07 Aug 2017 16:09:52
Van Dijk is not going to join. He will either stay at Southampton or join Chelsea. There's absolutely zero point signing Oxlade as he's not needed. Gomes is of interest to another of his agent's clients.

3.) 07 Aug 2017 16:11:57
Andre Gomes is a good player but s poorer version of Emre Can for me. Pointless signing.

4.) 07 Aug 2017 16:16:11
Got me curious with "baggage". Care to elaborate on that, Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - It is unimportant - the clubs will know.}

5.) 07 Aug 2017 16:31:43
I'll fill him in Ed. Ziyech has a massive wardrobe. He never wears the same thing twice yet refuses to throw anything away. So what you think would be a cheap flight ticket to get him from Netherlands to liverpool is in fact quite expensive when you take into account his "baggage". This has been putting a lot of clubs off him.

6.) 07 Aug 2017 17:22:23
Massive falling out with the Morroco national coach, bit of a big time Charlie according to some.

7.) 07 Aug 2017 18:55:01
Picking up on what Leeeee posted and the Eds could probably confirm this but I've heard that Max Meyer's preference is to go to Spurs but possibly not until next year. Info came from a Schalke fan who has connections to the club.

Not sure I'm overly bothered as I don't think he's that great.

8.) 08 Aug 2017 02:25:44
The only player i would want off that list is VVD, still think it's unlikely to happen though. Ox isn't needed and not really sure he would improve things. Though i hope he has a good season at Arsenal.

Apparently keeping an eye on Torres of Valencia just wondered what the eds thought of him as a player?

Dmj1978

{Ed001's Note - not seen much of him to be honest.}

1.) 03 Apr 2018 10:05:37
The last time Liverpool signed a F. Torres from Spain, it worked out pretty well for the club.

Stranger things have happened in football so who knows?

{Ed002's Note - The interest in Ferran Torres from Liverpool is not new but, Valencia do not want to sell him and both Real Madrid and barcelona have a sustained interest in him. I expect he will stay where he is for at least another year. There are also a couple of complications over price that means if he is sold to a Spanish side the return is much lower - so there has been a discussion for the sale to another side with a two year loan back (as a Plan B if Valencia have to sell).}

2.) 03 Apr 2018 15:03:44
What position does he play?

24 Jan 2018 04:41:35
Do the eds still expect us to sign someone during this window as it seems awfully quiet atm.

Dmj1978

{Ed0333's Note - I’m keeping my expectations really really low 1978 so when we sign Fekir on January 31st I’ll be the happiest liverpool supporter in the world

1.) 24 Jan 2018 08:39:28
We can but hope!

2.) 24 Jan 2018 07:26:39
Ed0333 is that your prophesy or just you dreaming? Fekir would be a quality addition. I'll keep my expectations low for further incomming, but my hopes high.

3.) 24 Jan 2018 09:58:21
There're any rumors about some talks going on, or it is just out of nowhere? :)

4.) 24 Jan 2018 13:04:08
Cheers ed 😂.

{Ed0333's Note - 👍

09 Jan 2018 11:30:59
Ken Aguero was my fave old school rumour.

Dmj1978

07 Jan 2018 18:04:16
Defo won't be signing lemar he's hoping for a good run in dancing on ice so maybe the summer? 😂.

Dmj1978

07 Jan 2018 14:08:45
So according to sky no lemar or Mahrez in January to replace Coutinho? Could we be looking at Fekir or Malcom maybe? Do we even have any interest in either? Time will tell but it's going to be a long month for the eds 👍.

Dmj1978

{Ed002's Note - It will be a long month if people throw up the names of random players all of the time.}

1.) 07 Jan 2018 15:00:51
You're definitely right about that, Ed02. The random naming is seriously doing my head in (not necessarily you, DMJ) esp. in the media.

Ed0333 just wondering if you were in charge of the money how much you’d be willing to pay? I know nothing of the player and just interested to see what you’d class as good fee for him.

Dmj1978

{Ed0333's Note - if we got him for under 25 million I’d say we’ve done well but I have no idea about market forces. For example I don’t think we’ll get a penny for Danny Sturridge and some people think he’s worth £20 million, and I would never have sanctioned a £35 million transfer for The Ox and he’s made me look like a divvy.

Not saying he couldn't probably worded it badly. What I meant was he seems more of no nonsense manager than to spend time trying to rehabilitate someone. I don't know the guy so I'm probably wrong.
