I, like im sure the rest of you are super dissapointed with the result. Especially on the back of the Swansea game. But some of the comments are ridiculous.

Not TAA best game at all, but don't be too harsh on the lad, definitely a lot more at fault. It shouldn't have been so easy for WBA to walk through the MF.

TAA is a promising player and a born and bred scouser, wants to play for us. Far from the finished article. Could have done better but he will sit back and try and learn from this. Everyone is frustrated at the loss. But I gets tiring seeing so much hatred and negativity towards players sometimes. We were shocking but sometimes players on the pitch aren't finished articles yet. Doesn't help any defenders when it is that easy to walk through out MF, so the first problem lies there, then you can look at the defence. plus Migs didn't have a good game at all.
T

Given how well we were playing this season we have it in us to beat teams like swansea who sit back and we could have won tonight if we played better. But no point losing yout sh*t. Some of the remarks directed at Klopp tonight. he got it wrong, He should have started Hendo in hindsight, easy to say, when he came on he steadied things. But to start saying you want to have him sacked, I think the club has moved forwards since he has taken over. Given some chances to some of the younger lads but he's made mistakes, Like personally would have rather not bought the Ox and given Woodburn some game time, but that's like.

Also we know we tried to sign some players in Jan but sometimes footy doesn't work like that. We went in for Lemar and pretty confident after looking at what macca said we enquired about Griezman? But those moves didn't happen. But really no use just hurling abuse out because we couldn't get a solid replacement for couts. I'd rather not panic buy and waste money. Even if we had a happy couts on the pitch today i don't think we would have won.

The owners have expanded the stadium, given trust in the manager. I like Klopp, i like the football we play and a lot of the time it works. So long as we try and improve what we need to. we lack organisation in the middle. Hendo does stable that a bit. Was clear when he came on. But realistically if half of you go what you wanted, and he got the sack, who would we get in?

Keeper needs addressing in summer, no secret, or even give Ward a run in, lad should get a chance.

I like Can but tonight he looked like his head was already in Italy.

The players need to look at themselves after tonight's performance. But also i don't want to get too negative about everything. We can't win every game, it's frustrating and upsetting to lose but no point just start hurling abuse and asking for Klopp to be sacked and all this nonsense. I'm dissapointed that we played so poorly but that's that, the game is over. The window is coming to a close and most likely no one is coming in. So I'd rather try and get behind the team and push on and make the most of the remaining games.

on a plus side i like the addition of VAR. Gutted we hit the bar :c but it did it's job!

YNWA.

What did you like about VAR? The wrong decisions or the slowing of play?

{Ed002's Note - That is not the real issue - creating a precedent is.}

2.) 27 Jan 2018 23:36:57
The trick is to not get too up or too down whether we win lose or draw. However, results like this grate especially after the season we had after losing to city and then going on a fantastic unbeaten run.

I fear for the porto game, too many players resting on their laurels and leaving it up to others to perform. Can has been inconsistent all season, choosing when to show up to games, wijnaldum has been plain awful bar the city game a few weeks ago and putting a non effectual like the ox next to them was a recipe for disaster. Thing is, you would have thought klopp would have learned his lesson from the swansea game.

With lallana out there is zero creativity in that midfield and the way the defence is playing we will be lucky if porto don't put the tie right out our reach in the first leg.

What a time for klopp to decide to gamble again and not bring in anyone to replace couts in this window. Its a pity, the season was looking promising up to Christmas until we sold our most creative player.

3.) 27 Jan 2018 23:52:34
I like the football klopp plays and we are exciting and entertaining to watch. i hate joses football and his arrogance but he knows how to win games and more importantly see out matches. now i don't want him anywhere near our club but i want a manager who tactically wins us matches and doesn't just rely on the brilliance of individual players. he has yet to make a substitution where i remember thinking wow that was a game changer. he is defensively naive and thinks you score 2 we score 3. and before people jump down my neck i. am along way from kloppout but jesus its so. hard being a loverpool player as its the hope that kills. just when u think we have are on the way to something special swanseas and west broms of this world come along and bang depression.

4.) 28 Jan 2018 00:05:46
I understand the need to create a precedent going forward, Ed. But is it possible? Is it compatible with football? I'm not so sure.

Be interesting to see how it goes.

{Ed002's Note - well clubs and players will be drawing virtual rectangles after every forward walks in front of a goalkeeper.}

5.) 28 Jan 2018 00:44:05
I must admit I didn't like the players calling for it, as if that gets worse, football could turn into a mockery and be so stop start, it'll be worse than American Football!

{Ed002's Note - Nothing can be that bad.}

6.) 28 Jan 2018 02:10:05
I most be the only one who thinks VAR is good for the game. I don't care waiting 2 minutes. The correct decisions should be made that way we have nothing to complain about. Its also a good indication of which refs are rubbish and which are decent.

Personally would love to hold onto Phil, but then if he really wants to go and play for Barcelona its probably better than have an unsettled player.

Not sure we actually need a direct replacement in, with mane and salah fit, Firmino can also play behind a striker. Solanke looks sharp and maybe studge will stay fit. Woodburn and kent also looking pretty sharp!

alistairLPFC

1.) 12 Aug 2017 19:38:40
I actually don't believe it is better to not have an unsettled player in this case. Phil is currently injured so can't play, in 2 weeks the window will be shut and as unhappy as he may or may not be, he will have to play well due to the world cup. A moderately unhappy phil is still 100000% better for us than no phil and shit/ no replacement.

Not to mention the fact that he will soon get over it the same way that suarez did. After handing in a transfer request, we forced him to stay one more year and he produced his best ever season, as I believe will phil.

2.) 12 Aug 2017 19:53:22
4-5-1 with Firmino behind Studge or Solanke would probably work very well. would also give us 2 deeper lieing DMs.

Only if C.

3.) 12 Aug 2017 20:08:25
l really like it George. But we still need a true leader in the back to organize, but that formation would be extremely strong.

4.) 12 Aug 2017 21:25:28
there is that we need a leader bit again, so true, but what happens if we miss out on VVD, when we could have got someone like Gibson, we will have Klaven when needed, can't believe we are even worse at the back, what are you doing Kloppy .

I haven't been on this site as much as i used to the last week or to due to not having the time. But i just wanted to post about Mane, i think 34m tbh maybe a little high but i think that comes with a little bit of stigma of us signing players like benteke and lallana for quite a lot and then i know AL has improved a lot (still not quite there for myself due to lack of goals) and CB not really getting a lot of game time. but they haven't done much for us and we payed quite a bit of money for them that in hindsight you might point out cheaper better signings which could have been made. That being said i think Mane has the energy and also proven he can play in the prem to be a very good player for us if he does sign. Looking at the signing i think possibly Klopp will want him playing out as a wide 3. The only problem with this signing is really i didn't feel we needed anymore attacking players Ings is coming back, Origi was stepping up. Studge was fit. Ojo was breaking through, Ibe might need a season loan for confidence he struggled this season but i wouldn't want to sell him. Then there's marko who might come back. Overall i think he will be a decent signing but maybe over paid again a bit! I really can't wait for the new season, should be very interesting!

alistairLPFC

1.) 27 Jun 2016 19:45:56
Neither Marko, Ojo nor Ibe can do what Mane can. That is just a fact. i'm not keen on theprice either but heis the exact playercwe need as his locker is filled with the tools none of our current players have.

2.) 28 Jun 2016 11:32:14
30-35 seems to be our bogey price.

Would of preferred 29.9 or 36 haha

Looks a good player. Klopps a good manager.

Adds what we need. Pretty much prices nowadays for players.

Sane 30 odd. Mkihi last year of contact 26 mil, how much with a 3/ 4 year deal. Pedro 22 mil. Redmond 15. Nolito 16.

Not horrific. I guess we have about 50 mil to spend each year. With all the tv money and aalea. So mane, karius, zilinksi and lb should be ok.

We just would not be spending if we were going to be fried by ffp.

I thought one stand out difference today was the quality of the balls in.

Numerous balls went in from wide and a lot of them were top quality.

It has been frustrating to watch poor balls countlessly delivered this season but today we played some top quality balls in. Also had a few men in the box ready to tuck them away!

Great performance from everyone today!

alistairLPFC

{Ed007's Note - Is it still the Nike Ordem they use? The design reminds me of the old red and white Mitre balls they used back in the 80s, the Sturridge ball or something like that.}

1.) 11 Apr 2016 03:09:19
The Sturridge ball? Did the stitching come out when you kicked it? On a serious note Studge looked more like his old self today. The way we're playing its just a pity we've left it to late in the season to really make an impact on the league. Performance levels have rocketed and we've started creating/ taking chances again. Even in the Southampton game we were ruthless first half but if ever a game summed up our season. Next season can't come quick enough, YNWA.

Flanno is just a boss!

alistairLPFC

1.) 27 Jan 2016 06:47:08
Scouse Cafu.

2.) 27 Jan 2016 07:33:58
Flanno did well considering it was his first start in a while, he had a few tired moments, but managed to stifle Arnautovic on a few occasions.

I think the midfield is weak, Hendo, Milner, Can, and Lucas are good players not great players. I still think we are missing a bit of quality there. Can in particular last night was wreckless. Despite that, you need that bit of luck and I could watch Klopp all day.

3.) 27 Jan 2016 07:34:10
Brazilian Flanno.

Honestly just on the Rashford comment thing, I think united have made their own problems. I think LVG actually had just gotten united to a point they might make progress, it took a long time but United won the FA cup and rashford came in and was playing really well. They looked like they finally were able to put in some good performances, then they got rid of him and got jose and went downhill again.

Rashford in turn seemed to just not progress that much and now the end of last season and the first few games of this season hasn't done much.

reckon they should have just carried on another season with LVG see if he could build on the FA cup. But they wanted Jose and here we are, reckon this season will be a bigger 2 horse race than last season. Though would be nice is Leicester grabbed a top 4 place ;)

I wouldn't mind having couts back, Barcelona would always be tough, but couts, fabby and shaquers in our mf with our front 3 is goals galore!

Would be gutted if he actually ended up at united :c.

New balance kits have been good, wouldn't mind staying with them :)

DAPred makes a fair point also.

I do like Navas, but to be honest, I'd rather us just back Karius. UTD fans probably were asking for DeGea to be shipped out during his 1st season and he was the regular keeper.

Karius hasn't had the easiest of starts but I would rather support him, he's so young. It would be great to build him up and hopefully he grows into a top keeper for us.

I agree, people get too caught up with the term striker. Firmino has 12 so far 6 assists and salah 22 and 7 assists. mane has 6 with 5 assists, plus he had a bit of a dip in form. People moaning oh you need 20 a season. Salah has brushed past that, firmino could well end up close to 20.

We are better off with a dynamic front 3 who play the most amazing football. Not only that but the chemistry they have is great, supporting each other. You wouldn't get a bet player in Salah and Firmino positions and Mane looks back to his best. Why on earth would you want to disrupt those 3.

Would hate to bring in a player who thinks they are the dogs boll*cks and has to be centre of attention, disrupts the team as a whole.

Spurs without Kane would be far worse off. Son has had a good season but Kane is their main goal scorer. Look at UTD, Lukaku hasn't shown up this season really, they have scraped some 1-0s like they usually do.

Even if one of our front 3 is injured/ off pace, the other 2 hopefully will provide something, that's the advantage about spacing the goals.

Phil is still up there with 7 goals 6 assists, I don't think we have to bring in a goal scoring MF with out current 3, but it just shows that goals can be well balanced around the team, it's better if a team can achieve this with multiple threats than just one main man!

I rate Musialowski a lot.

Seen some clips of him doing well in training with the 1st team, looks very good against his own age group.

However 17 is still very very young and making the step up to the 1st team is huge. Even the most talented youngsters can struggle and vice versa the ones who you thought might not make it get a chance and just go on to be class.

Hope he does make it though. But definitely needs some time yet.

Its a hard one to call. Honestly Trent seems to get more involved from RB with how we play anyway!

We would need to buy someone absolutely class, or young hoover to come through and be top notch in a few years. For us to move Trent I think.

I can't say I have seen him ever really play MF, but you never know! Im sure Klopp and Trent both know what they want and need :)

Whatever happens im sure it will be good! he's such a top lad. The deliveries he was putting in against spurs were just unreal.
