What do people think of Savinho from City?
They have plenty of wingers and he would be a good player on the right side.

18 Mar 2026 08:31:05
Not for me. He's got absolutely no end product, and if we want a right winger who will just run at people and get 2-4 goals a season, we might as well give Koumas a chance. At least he counts as home grown and won't cost in excess of £40m.
18 Mar 2026 12:56:22
Elite dribbler from what Ive seen, and offers the left foot dynamic we will miss, but MK is right on the end product. Now Ive seen City fans mention he has been robbed of many assists. But his goal threat seems non-existent.
Now he is still 21, mind. If he could slightly develop his G/A, I think hed be a proper weapon. Low blocks would not stand against Rio and Savinho on either flank, Flo swimming to each flank to double up, Isak/Hugo to finish the move.
The caveat there is Savinho, Wirtz, Rio against the ball is awfully lightweight, especially if you believe the Wharton rumours. That front 3/4 needs a Rodri & Anderson midfield behind it.
You could even compensate if we had Arsenal full backs to sit like a Timber, Calaforie, but we bought flying fullbacks. The whole thing doesnt make sense (yet).
18 Mar 2026 17:05:42
Koumas is doing quite well for Hull, isn't he? Couple of winners for the lad lately.
17 Mar 2026 23:00:09
I'd take a 4-0 hammering just to get rid of the bald eagle.

I want Slot out, but come on, mate. You can't honestly want us to get knocked out of our only semi-realistic remaining chance of silverware?
I do not see us winning a one-off tie away at the Etihad in the next round of the FA Cup, but in Europe (with Anfield on our side over two legs) we can always find a way.
Once you get to a final in a neutral venue, anything can happen. We have better players now than we did in 2005, for example.
18 Mar 2026 08:32:52
As much as I want Slot gone, I still want the team to win.
18 Mar 2026 10:40:19
I never want Liverpool to lose, regardless of the situation. I personally don't understand this post. How can any Liverpool fan openly wish for a loss?
18 Mar 2026 11:02:36
Look at it this way: He stays; we won't beat any half decent team over 2 legs. He'll f*** up our top 4 chances. That means, when they sack him in the summer, we have 2nd rate European football to offer to prospective new signings: no Champions League.
Meaning that even the desperate Manchester United climb above us in attractiveness. On top of that, the football is boring the ballix off me. He's destroyed our club. Get him gone.
18 Mar 2026 11:12:52
MK, I would take a really crappy 1-0 win and scrape through on pens with the same performance as Sunday. And then a defeat on Saturday if it means he is gone then, but it feels like no matter how low he takes us, he is here till at least the summer.
With how bad it has been, and he is still here, I am afraid we get top 4 and he stays for next season.
18 Mar 2026 14:27:33
I always think it takes elite bravery to create a new username before posting absolute drivel
18 Mar 2026 15:52:39
Sums up half the fanbase for me. Only thing I can think of is it must be an age thing or societal. Not one of my mates would want their team to lose, ever for whatever reason. We are an entitled bunch, reigning champions, yet we talk about how low we've been taken.
We're 5th, in the Champions League spots, for Christ's sake, not 18th. I realise the disappointment, but come on.
18 Mar 2026 17:00:51
No fan of any team would even want their team to lose. If you are a fan, you support your team through the highs and the lows, in the knowledge that, whatever happens, everybody - the fans, the manager/coach, the players, the board, the owners - are all trying to achieve the same goal, and that is to win the game.
Sometimes the team falls short, and it isn't enjoyable to watch, but you cheer them on in the hope that it will be better next time.
If you can't support your team through the bad, then don't bother supporting them through the good.
18 Mar 2026 18:18:05
Shipley I totally disagree I wanted us to lose to West Ham end of November because I think slot was one defeat away from the sack something that should have already happened but they are to stupid too see or too arrogant to admit they got it wrong Hughes and Edwards.
I don't ever want Liverpool to lose not even a friendly but something needs to happen things can't get much worse if not for individual moments of magic from our players we would be a lot lower in the league that and how bad the league is this season.
18 Mar 2026 21:59:06
Well you got the 4-0 hammering, but not the way you wanted.
17 Mar 2026 22:10:17
Not Liverpool related, but an interesting outcome for the AFCON result being overturned.
It was a farce at the time. It is even more of a farce now, to be honest.
Agree5
17 Mar 2026 22:28:55
I said it then, and I will say it again now. It was rigged for Morocco to win the AFCON, even the final match result wasn't going to change that. They were always going to find a way, no matter how underhanded and corrupt it might look.
17 Mar 2026 22:57:50
Oh my word, this is unbelievable. I hope all other African nations now void the AFCON based on this.
18 Mar 2026 04:42:25
You really couldn't make this rubbish up could you.
If ever, you wanted proof that corruption happens right under our eyes, there you go.
African football in all its glory.
18 Mar 2026 09:38:09
African football is dodgy, Morocco got the benefit of a couple of dodgy decisions in the final but that doesn't make it ok for Senegal to walk the team off the pitch and refuse to play. For me, this is the correct outcome but they have got to it in the wrong way. The game should have been forfeited on the night whilst Senegal were in the dressing room. After allowing them to finally return and finish the game the result should stand - it certainly shouldn't be overturned months later.
That said, I don't really care about AFCON to be honest. In my sphere it is just an annoyance that robs PL teams of some great players for a month every couple of years.
18 Mar 2026 18:55:18
Corruption in all football from top to bottom. Too much money. YNWA.
17 Mar 2026 18:44:38
Is no one going to add Bodo manager to the wish list?
He’s well over achieving with them.
Agree0
17 Mar 2026 19:26:14
He has done amazing, but he is also currently on the verge of throwing away a 3-0 first leg advantage.
17 Mar 2026 19:26:18
They won 3-0, now losing 3-0.
17 Mar 2026 19:38:19
Harsh peno for 3-0.
17 Mar 2026 20:10:03
If you should have learnt anything with Slot, it's that you don't gamble on managers who are unproven in the top 5 leagues. The only one to work out was Mourinho, and he was a bit special by winning the Champions League.
17 Mar 2026 20:21:54
Ouch. 5-0.
17 Mar 2026 20:52:40
I'm delighted we gambled, I'd imagine millions and millions around the world are.
18 Mar 2026 18:58:19
Bodo has not played league football for months, as their league has shut down, only playing games in the Champions League.
17 Mar 2026 17:58:56
Current UEFA coefficient points. Top gets extra UCL spot.
England 113 points 9/9 teams left
Italy 98 points 4/7 teams left
Spain 93 points 6/8 teams left
Germany 89 points 5/7 teams left
It's 2 points for a win and 1 for a draw.
Chelsea, Spurs and City out unless a miracle.
Arsenal will go through imo.
I suspect a draw for us, then we go out.
Newcastle look ok but it's at Camp Nou so I suspect they go out. So we could be down to 4 teams before Thursday.
Two Italian sides face off on Thursday and Atalanta no chance Vs Bayern so Italian teams down to 2.
Spanish sides are the worry.
I say all that as 5th now isn't guaranteed for UCL as it once was so unless we sort it out we could be in Europa.
Agree2
17 Mar 2026 19:36:20
The 5th spot is a joke. It devalues the competition. If we don't finish in the top 4, then we don't deserve to be in it.
The club have had so many warning shots fired right across the bow, and they've heeded none of them.
All season long we've threatened to, but never turned the corner. Slot should have been sacked months ago. If we're not in the competition next season, it's our own fault.
17 Mar 2026 19:49:56
Think City will win tonight, but go out. Is that still 2 points? Think Arsenal and Villa will both go deep in competitions. Palace should go through, and maybe Forest too.
So think the Premier League will still get 5 places. Real will go out to Bayern, then AM vs Barca, so one of them goes. So think it will be pretty hard for Spain to make up that many points.
17 Mar 2026 20:54:07
The fifth spot is a joke, but the 4th spot isnt? It was devalued the minute it wasnt only Champions anymore.
17 Mar 2026 23:13:09
City got a draw, and Arsenal won, so that's 3 points added. Madrid got a draw, so 1 point added.
18 Mar 2026 09:04:40
You sure, Keegan? I believe City were beaten 1-2.
18 Mar 2026 15:21:19
Florian, I said nothing about 4th place. I agree it's lost all the meaning that it used to have back in the 70s. As u and i both know, it's all about the money, and we're all poorer for it, figuratively and literally.
17 Mar 2026 17:57:16
Straight from the horse's mouth:
We completely deserve to be in this round, we beat Real Madrid here, Atletico here, Inter and Marseille (away).
We can look at the goal we conceded v Spurs and think everything is going against us, or think we deserve to be in this round.
We are working extremely hard to make sure the details are in our favour and not in favour of Galatasaray like last time.

Word salad.
17 Mar 2026 22:32:04
You don't win friends with salad.
17 Mar 2026 23:04:49
Mo Salad?
Yeah, he should be in the squad, yeah mate, top drawer that fella.
That fella, Isaac, is on his way back soon. He's cycling across the Mersey, on an exercise bike.
18 Mar 2026 16:32:15
Hopefully it's loud and windy. Or not.
17 Mar 2026 14:09:06
With likely another busy window on the cards and the signing of a centreback already done.
Does anyone see a world where we try a free signing if Konate leaves?
Maybe a short-term solution like an Ake with a year left.
(Not Ake, just something similar last year of contract, but older experience of the Prem) - before I get mauled lol.
Agree1
17 Mar 2026 15:06:02
If one is available, definitely. Need to reinforce defence short and long term, especially considering if Alonso is coming, it wouldn't surprise me to see us set up with 4 at the back, given he has some players from his time there already.
17 Mar 2026 16:33:24
Senesi makes sense. Free in the summer. Few years left in him.
{Ed025's Note - if you add an "i" i suppose it does KP.. :)
17 Mar 2026 16:42:55
With Senesi, or someone of that ilk, being brought in to start with Virgil? Or are we looking at it as this player being 3rd/4th choice, while either Jacuet or Leoni partners Virg? Gomez, for me, is not good enough to have around anymore; showed that on Sunday.
I'd like to see Virg get the chance to partner an actual top, top-class CB at L'pool for the 1st time. Amazing that he's been so good over the years despite playing with decent, yet not top-class, partners.
17 Mar 2026 17:35:20
Thing is, Florian, although I agree Virg needs a top-class partner, he himself has been very poor in many games and only has one year left. Although saying that, I believe he could go on like Thiago Silva and Pepe until his late 30s. Senesi for me replaces Gomez, with Jaquet replacing Konate. Problem is, who's buying Gomez?
17 Mar 2026 17:22:37
Classic Ed25.
{Ed025's Note - cheers JLC..
17 Mar 2026 18:22:42
He hasn't been his usual level, Keegan, but I'd love to see it. Few years in Virg yet. Think it would push him on to prove he's still the main man at the club.
17 Mar 2026 18:36:35
Problem is, the three big names linked are all lcbs. Even Guehi was a lcb, so it looks likely they want to replace him asap. Bringing in a top CB now to play alongside Virg will stifle the growth of our two top young CB signings.
17 Mar 2026 19:41:30
Let the best 2 play. If we have two who are earning their place ahead of Virgil, we'll be doing just fine. If Virgil still deserves nd keeps his place, doesn't change the fact we'll have other top young CB's at the club.
17 Mar 2026 12:55:17
Being an impartial viewer of tonight’s CL games, I’ve a sneaky feeling that Arsenal might come unstuck tonight?!
The thing is we actually want them to go through to help with the coefficient points.

17 Mar 2026 17:23:19
F*** em... They can go out.
We can't be hoping for favors from anyone else.
16 Mar 2026 21:40:47
So, Jayden Danns just did his hamstring on his return to U21 football for Liverpool.
This season can actually get in the bin.
