There's talk that we need a better passer of the ball in centre mid, the only name who comes around with any frequency is Wharton. Trent isn't going to get game time in Madrid unless someone gets injured, I would have though his passing is as good if not better than Wharton, we'd get him cheaper ideally on loan, he's more mobile, and he can operate at right back when Connors injured or more inverted or centrally when it suits us tactically.

Be interested to know if the club would consider it, or if those bridges have been burnt.

Real have 2 RB's, why would they loan us one?
I also don't see Trent coming back with his tail between his legs, I think he would go anywhere but Liverpool, he's a lot more arrogant than he let's on and he's not going to come crawling back, wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in Italy eventually.

You'd think they'd want to offload his wages, although money never seems to be an issue for them. Maybe the only real issue will be when he's had enough, and accepts it was a bad move footballing wise. Could just be a nice interim option which suits us and the player.

I'd rather give Nyoni a go than waste money on Wharton. He's got a similar skillset and isn't a traffic cone out of possession. As for Arnold Rat, he can stay in Madrid.

Given we only needed 1 appearance for Ifeanyi Nduwke, was it worth just doing a very short loan and bringing him back? I am worried he's going to sit on the bench till Jan. whereas he could have qualified for permit and returned before the end of the transfer window.

Personally I would, I don't know why people thought an 18 year old fresh out the reserves in Austria was going to get regular minutes in La Liga. The club's primary concern is the work permit, I think regular game time would be considered a huge bonus. We chose a tier 1 destination because it gives him the quikest route to the permit, they could have let him go to a lower team where he would have had a much better chance of regular game time if that was a big concern, so if he's eligible to return in January I imagine the club would seriously consider it.

Best case scenario he can force his way in there and worst he spends the next coupla months training over there in the sunshine(about all he would've done with us except in the rain)and is able to return in January to get starts at a Championship or League 1 club.

He did pretty well v Barca the other day when he came on, I was impressed and i think the management of Levante was too, I see him getting plenty playing time until January.

I think TSR was suggesting to loan him for 2 weeks or so, thus getting him back before the end of the window. Not sure if that is allowed or not (just to fulfil the 1 game qualification).

Even if we did that he still would not quite qualify as HG for us.

He joined in Jul 26.

He left in Aug 26 to join Levante.

Even if he was allowed to join a club for a couple of weeks before returning, Aug 26 would not count towards his HG qualification, so by Jul 29, he will only have spent 35 months (not the required 36) playing/being registered in an English league.

So to Chewy's point, he might as well spend the time training in the sun than in the rain!

No self respecting team is going to take an unproven kid on a short-term loan just so that we can get him a work permit (unless of course you are a multi-club setup).

For the first time in a long time we have 4 'fit' CBs and Leoni is on the mend too. He looks like an excellent player but I think he'll get a lot more game-time than he would at Liverpool and he will benefit from that.

According to the fount of all transfer knowledge - Teamtalk - us, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid are interested in PSV Eindhoven's 20 yr old Austrian international Paul Wanner.

We should sign him just for his song - all hail The Stone Roses - I wanner be adored.

Never heard of the lad or seen him play to be honest so I'll wait for the cognoscenti to shatter my dream.

Surprised no mention of Fabinho. I know his legs had gone by the end of his time with us but for a period. Was easily one of the best DM's in world football.

Would kill to have a prime Fabinho in our team now.

Bruno Fernandez, the current player of the year. Awful antics today. Fellas like that are killing the game. Disgusted. United got exactly what they deserved.

Bruno is fantastic player in isolation but as a model professional he is in the gutter, chronic whinger, always throwing his arms up in the air at his own players, feigns injury more than any player I have ever seen. For me he is Absolute quality on the ball but a footballing lowlife.

I would 100% have him instead of Wirtz that's my opinion based on the following facts, you can argue till the cows come home when it's an opinion, on whose right and whose wrong, what's in the actual record books, cannot be a debated opinion but the true facts

Fernandes 25-26 PL Season: 35 Apps, 9 Goals, 21 assists.
Wirtz 25-26 PL Season: 31 Apps, 5 Goals, 3 assists.
Wirtz 26-27 PL Season: 4 Apps, 0 Goals, 1 assist.
Fernandes's One PL season figures beat Wirtz's figures for Two PL seasons so far? 80% more goals, Six times better assist figures, Fernandes has scored 3 Hat Tricks, 2 in PL games, Wirtz has never scored more than one goal in a PL match. It took Wirtz 17 PL games to score his first PL goal.

There you have it, the number one reason why Alonso turned down the LFC job (throw in Frimpong as well) if Wirtz is the best thing since sliced bread, why has Alonso snubbed him three times, once at RM, twice when he bought Rogers instead, and three times when Fernandez went to Man City, Alonso knows full well what side his bread is buttered on. Anyone who thinks Wirtz is a good signing, is in my "opinion" just as bad as Richard Hughes, it's quite clear Wirtz does not have an "End Product" would you really pay £100 million plus for 37 PL apps, 5 goals, 4 assists, but I know a Man/DOF who did, and paid the penalty by being sacked, for signing the best player since sliced bread as well according to the majority on here, he couldn't beat an egg or pass water?

007 i agree that bruno is currently a very good player but i have no idea how you think Alonso snubbed Wirtz. Rogers and Fernandez only just transferred and AFAIK Wirtz had no intention of leaving LFC this year.

And when he joined us, its on record that Wirtz did so by snubbing other clubs such as Bayern. RM never made a formal offer but given they had Bellingham I doubt Perez ever considered it anyway.

Where are our apologies for non sensible decisions against alison penalty and gackpo penalty.

Tell me they are not biased when they are so evidently so. Now till end of season see them giving every 50-50 decision in there favour of united. Just like last year.

Fernandez decision is still judgement and one can get it wrong on whether they deemed him effecting the play or not. However, the Allison decision was blatant disregard to rules and football as we know it. Where is the hue and cry? Where are our apologies? We have been soft I will tell you this- They won't have got away with that decision with Klopp around.
Its about time we at Anfield should blast every half decision and put pressure on referees.

That was karma for the maguire hand ball they did not give. How can a player kick another player three times in one incident and stay on it is beyond belief. Both players should of walked Bruno was embarrassing the way he was rolling around the park like a truck had hit him the coward. Hate seeing pros trying to get other pros sent off.
