Can we recall any of our loan players? Kostos or McConnell for example, considering Bradley is out until pre season.

11 Jan 2026 19:26:25
A left back and a midfielder to replace a right back?

11 Jan 2026 22:42:22
McConnell could do a job at RB.

12 Jan 2026 07:29:13
Luca Stephenson would be a better choice.

12 Jan 2026 08:58:42
Luca has been a stand out both seasons he has been in the SPFL.

4 Goals and 3 assists so far this season.

If possible I would say it was worth giving him a go. Don't know what the availability of a recall would be though. The lad is clearly above the level he is on loan at would be a good opportunity for both the club an the player to assess where he is heading.

12 Jan 2026 09:34:32
Luca looked good pre season for us too.

There has understandably been many posts here and views from the media regarding Martinelli's disgusting actions after Bradley's injury. Let me bring in another perspective that probably hasn't been mentioned or given its dues. Does anyone else believe thst Martinelli could have actually made the injury worse by dragging him in the way he did? He needed a stretcher to exit it him from pitchside and was fliching in pain when he was pulled by him.

I believe the least Martinelli deserved was a red card, but he should be given retrospective punishment. Imagine if a player landed awkwardly on their spine and was removed by an opposition player through ignorance causing paralysis. Yes it's far fetched but it's not beyond the realms of possibility given what we saw on Thursday night.

Whilst your point is somewhat relevant, you're talking about a spinal injury, a totally different ballgame. So no, I don't think so. The damage was done, I'm sure it was very uncomfortable for Bradley to be pushed over like that so soon after the injury, but it wouldn't have caused further damage. Had he grabbed him by the leg and dragged him off the pitch, he absolutely could have made it worse, but from what I saw it's highly unlikely.

Martinelli should have gotten a red, no doubt, but unfortunately the problem is that so many players do act up late in the game to waste time, it can be hard to know who is or isn't injured at that moment. The rules need serious revision, all play-acting needs to be an automatic booking, it's the only way to iron out that nonsense. As we saw with Bradley, all we do by entertaining diver's and cheats, is put truly injured players at risk.

11 Jan 2026 08:20:49
The ironic thing is that Arsenal have been the major protagonists in the dark arts and this has been frustrating for players and fans. We are not totally blameless but time wasting is not usually our MO. It's not like they have us breathing down their necks either.

11 Jan 2026 10:00:59
Kpee I mentioned this immediately post Martinelli's disgusting actions and received very little support which was a surprise.
He must he sanctioned because god forbid somebody could become seriously injured if this type of vile behaviour is deemed acceptable.
It is not a surprise to me that it is being swept under the carpet because those in the upper echelons want Arsenhole to win the league.

11 Jan 2026 11:27:05
It was poor judgement from Martinelli, a bit symptomatic of Arsenals general in game management and their way of thinking they can influence and push the officials.

Part of the general problem around player discipline is the officiating though including VAR. There's so much inconsistency in decisions or non-decisions.

Players generally get away with play acting, but then in the same game can get yellow carded for minimal physical contact outside the box. Handballs and fouls in the box seem to be given less, but if they're outside the box they're given. VAR seems to get involved randomly, except for offsides . It's all a bit weird as it doesn't seem that hard to resolve.

11 Jan 2026 14:23:11
Yep, projection. Martinelli measuring others by his and his team's cheaty ways.

11 Jan 2026 14:38:28
The worst behaviour that gets tolerated is often a good reflection of a culture. That's why someone needs to tell Macca to stop rolling round on the floor as it reflects badly on us. Same goes for any Arsenal players doing the same, or surrounding referees after every minor decision goes against them.

The refs seemed to start to get a better grip last season, and were dealing with stuff through the captains, but gradually it's gone back to how it was before. It's probably getting more noticeable because generally the footballs poor and the matches are very stop start.

10 Jan 2026 18:24:06
Hi Eds, do yous think Diomande a possibility at the moment.

I've looked at him and he's quite a similar player to seymeno who we seemed interested in.

{Ed025's Note - lots of top teams are interested mate..

How is that given as a penalty in the Everton game when wirtz wasn't? These referees are a crock YNWA.

Is it a ploy against LFC or something that Arsenhole have been getting the decisions in their favour? I go for the latter. Officials have been very favorable to them this season. VERY favorable.

10 Jan 2026 14:19:28
Non LFC but it looks like Wayne Rooney's brother has overtaken Glasner on the possible United managerial list.

11 Jan 2026 08:43:47
Jag, Rooney got his centre midfield to quote Stevie Warnock "they ran over CP midfield ", that is what we need. Hope the guys watched the game.

Wharton had bad game passing was off, so did MG, both lost the ball too.

No doubting their quality, but it was bad.
I recommend people watch the game,

10 Jan 2026 10:35:09
Yan Diomande has apparently said that it's his dream to play at Anfield and that he's a Liverpool fan. I know he's been decent enough at RB Leipzig but I don't think we'll spend £70m+ (roughly what Leipzig want) for him, especially as he's only played about 50 games so far in his entire career.

Has anyone seen enough of him to think he's worth spending that much money on?

I watched a YouTube video lasting 3 mins 25 secs so I'm a bit of an expert and he looks capable. I'm with you RK and would like to know more.

10 Jan 2026 14:54:28
Ivory Coast play Egypt tonight.

10 Jan 2026 18:20:24
Kd7 I just watched an 8.32 sec one. I can trump you. Ask me anything you want! For I am now the font of all knowledge. lol

First time I've heard of him but he does look good. Nice balance direct too. Slot would get that right out of his game. He's very strong and quick. Slot will have him slow and weak within one pre season.

I will keep an eye out though as he looks exiting. Liverpool supporter to!

10 Jan 2026 00:36:55
Reading the comments on here for years and have enjoyed a lot of the banter so thought I would chime in for once! After thursdays draw at the Emirates here are my thoughts- If Liverpool have one of Ekitike or Isak available for that game, we come away from it with 3 points. Overall a very solid performance. First half we soaked the initial pressure well and by the half hour mark had Arsenal aware that this was not a one way game like it was being built up to be. Having conserved our energy first half by sitting in I thought second half we came out and showed good composure on the ball, played some nice football, won the first and second balls ( big plus as has been a massive problem this season) and used our only viable threat in behind ( Frimpong) well. He could and should have done better in his attacking endevours but he still made the chances possible with his pace. The only decision to contest with Slot in this game I could think of was not to sub off Gakpo after the 70th minute to bring on Chiesa or Rio. Having said that, looking at it logically even though his play was average on the night his stature provided a vocal point when needed to go long and I believe that is why he stayed for the 90 as Alisson used that pass a few times to get out and play and worked well.

-The next four games however are must wins for the Manager and the team if we are to stake a claim in the top 4 and have progression in the cup. This game showed we are more than capable of being up there with Arsenal but also highlighted that it is a team in transition and is slightly unbalanced. 4 players minimum in the summer could and should have us fighting for the title again next season. A Winger, a deep progressive playmaker, a centre half of quality and a right back of note. The only two names I would 100% want at this time for those positions ar Kayode of Brentford ( very impressed with him) and Wharton for the progressive playmaker role. The other two positions I would have to have a real think of.
Would love to hear your thoughts on the 4 (or more) players you would bring in to balance the team.

It depends on who leaves regarding incomings.
If Mo goes id take Olise however unlikely that might be.
Konate and or Gomez goes then we need 2 CBs minimum, Guehi and Diomande, there is also his namesake who plays as a winger that's been linked.
Macallister goes then Wharton

Hopefully we do some business this window to ease any summer changes especially with there being a world cup.

Everton moaning again about Keanes totally justified ban. You can't go around pulling peoples dreadlocks or using them as a grip to hold on to.

Agree4

09 Jan 2026 17:49:21
But you can apparently man handle an injured player on the floor. They are calling the Keane one Violent conduct with a 3 match ban and then watch Martinelli do that and get a yellow.
Both are moments of madness but as always there isn't any consistency from officials.

09 Jan 2026 17:55:05
And Grealish got red carded it looked like he wanted to be sent off.

09 Jan 2026 22:52:10
So Keane gets a dreadlock holiday?

Don't give up on Gabriel getting one for showing no self control and acting like he's big time.

Just out of interest, has this site been busier this season compared to the same timeline of last season?
Thanks

People watching the site more than the matches!

09 Jan 2026 21:30:03
Lot of other teams i mean Liverpool fans on the wind up! Always a lot quieter when were winning.

10 Jan 2026 09:44:12
I don't post often but I do read through the site at least once a day and what i've noticed is a lot of new/ inactive usernames crop up when were not doing well. I think some are on the wind up but I also think some are just waiting for it to go t*ts up so they can say they knew this or that was wrong all along even though they had been previously proved wrong when we were winning.

People seem to dwell in negativity on the internet so I try tp ignore a lot of it personally.

09 Jan 2026 15:20:37
Well as vehement as my opposition to appointing Gerrard as an interim first team coach is, I suppose things could be worse. Apparently a contingent of Spurs fans want Frank sacked and replaced with. 'Arry Redknapp. Others want a slightly less silly (but probably not by much) choice, which is Ange back haha

The premier league is so bizarre this season, Solskjaer is about to return to United too.

Do you know what PatrickBurgher this is the strangest season i have ever seen and i am 68.

I reckon Harry Redknapp will be more concerned with his horse, The Jukebox Man.
It's quite fancied for the Cheltenham Gold Cup after winning The King George on Boxing Day.
You just knew it was going to win when I told a few of my mates that it wouldn't after one of my other mates tipped it.

I still don't know how it won.
Anyway, I think Harry's retired from football management. He must be knocking on for eighty.
