I have been wondering for a while…. what do you reckon Slot told Witrz, tactics wise to convince him to sign? And how do you think it’s working out?
Surely he didn’t tell him that one week he will be on the left, then the following week he will be central, then benched…. rinse and repeat!

Player hasn't been good enuf to nail down any one position, or even a place in the first 11 a lot of the time so far. So a bit like when Salah when signing his last contract if the player doesn't perform then promises made to him become null and void.

Hi all,

As I used to say before, take this with a bowl of salt but it’s a funny and interesting rumour to pass along regardless. Granted this one I’m not so confident on but just passing on a funny whisper I heard, if at all true.

Apparently Madrid approached the club a number of weeks back enquiring about possibly signing Wirtz in the summer at a touted 100m odd euro.

Liverpool told them in the kindest, most diplomatic way to go f*ck themselves.

Does anyone know if we are interested in Chema Andres of Stuttgart?

Think he is really solid defensively for his age and good on the ball. Considering he was bought for 3 mill euro he would probably be a cheap buy - so could be a good young endo replacement (coincidently from the same club) .

I haven't seen any links to us but I know Real would have first option on bringing him back.

Looks like a young Rodri in playing style and gait.

I noticed him when I tuned in to watch Angelo Stiller.

I doubt he would move to sit on the bench somewhere given how highly he seems to be rated by his old club Real and others.

Difficult to know why Slot does not use Chiesa more, apart from not being his choice . Is it his constant need or want to attack while Slots using a slower build up . Does Slot see him not pressing or defending enough?
Will Semenyo be much different?

He'll be used over the coming weeks with other attackers out. Then its it to him to make himself undroppable.

I am baffled by the clamour for Chiesa to get game time. Runs about like a headless chicken, gives away stupid fouls and has very little end product…you know. all the things Nunez was getting pelters for! Simply not good enough for our team even in our current form.

You can't knock the guy for busting a gut in the 10 minutes or so he gets when we have been inevitably chasing a game. History shows Chiesa is not a headless chicken.

He seems to make things happen and get involved when be comes on late in games when the opposition have tired, which is a good quality for a sub. He used to be a very good player in Italy, unlikely to get back to that level now unfortunately.

You must be watching a different Chiesa than I am. He very rarely makes a difference to a game no matter when he comes on. As for history showing he’s not a headless chicken, unfortunately we don’t have a time machine.

He may have been a decent player in the past but is nowhere near the player he once was. If he was an opponents player you wouldn’t be too worried seeing him come on or start a game would you?

He has made a difference when he has come on, we’ve got eyes we can see. Whether or not he should/ could start every game is a question that will only be answered by playing him.

Important to note for me is that the two home games is 27th and 1st so great rest for the players at home with families for Xmas and new years.

Next 5 games before we face Arsenal at the Emirates on the 8th Jan. Hopefully Semenyo in by then as the clause is only available until 10th Jan.

Marseille isn't until end of Jan. But I agree it doesn't feel like a hectic schedule so hopefully we can build some momentum. equally I wouldn't be surprised if we lost to spurs and managed to gift Wolves a point, then went to grab something at Arsenal.

To be absolutely fair, I said it was bad when it happened in Match Chat, but it's probably not the *worst* tackle I've seen. But reds have been given for them. I assume the excuse will be that it lacked 'excessive force'.

Again, it's the consistency, or lack thereof, is the problem. It was the same when a player was right in our 'keepers eyeline when Gala scored and it was given but then Virgil's goal against City was disallowed cos Robbo was standing near it, not in the 'keeper's eyeline.

Now I'm asking this question because of the fact that he's English, a right winger, left and right footed, and can play striker and left wing if needed and is young and bagging a few goals recently. Which checks a lot of boxes for english clubs.

Now if you take away all of the preconceptions you have about him regardless of wether they are warranted or not, which I'm not for one second suggesting that they are not warranted, it becomes an interesting question. Specially since the woman that was/ is the accuser/ victim is still currently in a relationship with him and has had two childeren with since.

despite all of this, the question was just has there been any noise that Greenwood would even be looked at.

Other teams in europe will definitley be looking at him with the way he's been performing.

You can’t look at Greenwood without considering what he did, which was, and let’s be absolutely clear about this, domestic abuse and coercive control. I don’t care whether he is back together with the woman or not, that’s irrelevant. Leopards can’t change their spots. He’ll probably do it again in the future. People like that don’t change.

As long as he lives that it is all he will be remembered for. Would not want that skid mark of a man anywhere near the club.

Hi everyone,

I posted the other day re: Salah having player his last game. This info came from other parts of the club (not Slot, not the players), a little higher up the chain. I'm surprised to some extent but on the other hand - I am not, it's the nature of the club at present. I don't think it's the right way to deal with things. At the moment we know he's in the squad - let's see if he plays.

Club is looking for options for Elliot - that's obvious, I suppose.

It looks like Semenyo is done but we do have competing offers.

McAllister I have heard is looking to leave in Summer. I have seen rumours about Gravernberch leaving - I'd hope not, and I haven't heard anything myself, but everything is so up ok the air at the moment, who knows.

Am hearing we are talking with Bayern about Olise and if they are interested in a deal with Salah involved. Not an easy deal obviously, but definitely possible. . Keep your eyes out in January for this, more likely June.
