A few things from tonight's game, good result and decent performance.
However, my dislike for Slot has increased from his appalling treatment of Ramsay and ignoring Endo when he was stretchered off just doesn't sit right with me. He obviously has no man management skills whatsoever.

His refusal to play any players beyond the 14 man squad will prevent us from attracting any promising youngsters. I've not disliked a manager more since Hodgson who similarly did not understand the ethos of our club.

I don't understand the obsession over Ramsay. I feel like people are using it as a stick to beat Slot with. He's had one good game in the Carabao. Apart from that he's barely been fit since he arrived and has no experience at a good enough level.

I'm not surprised Slot doesn't trust him in the league. When there are seasoned players who can fill in at right-back, why would he risk it?

12 Feb 2026 06:05:14
He didn't ignore Endo, let's not make things up for the sake of it. We seem to be doing alright signing promising youngsters.

12 Feb 2026 06:41:52
I wasn't able to watch the game, caught the highlights and it showed Slot walking over and saying a few words to Endo when he was taken off on the stretcher. not sure why you say Slot ignored him.

12 Feb 2026 06:51:02
No-one made it an issue except Slot. He has twice now publicly made it very clear he doesn't rate him when asked why he continuously plays players out of position rather than using the full depth of the squad is their preferred positions. At this point it's more like Slot is using it as a point of stubbornness by not at least giving him a go. Other than the standard Bradley and Frimpong, he has used 4 midfielders a centre back in that position as opposed to a professional RB.

I think he has only used him in the game he threw in front of the home crown which I still haven't and don't think I will ever forgive.
Look I'm not saying Ramsay is going to be the best thing ever, but let's not pretend this is some untested kid. He was racking up first team appearances in that position before he made the decision to come to us. A decision he likely regrets now, poor lad.

12 Feb 2026 08:47:03
I wonder why Shaun Maloney and Ryan Lowe didn't play him. He had injuries on loan but also struggled for gametime when fit. People making a bigger deal outa this than it is. The lad his not good enough, no matter who the manager is.

{Ed001's Note - it doesn't matter why other managers didn't play him, what matters is they weren't telling the world they would literally pick anyone else rather than play him. It is not difficult to understand the issue here if you would stop being so defensive over Slot and actually look at the real world.}

12 Feb 2026 09:14:40
Did those coaches also have there main IT'S out injured when they decided not to play Ramsey.

{Ed001's Note - very good question.}

12 Feb 2026 09:27:06
I appreciate he told the world why he wouldn't play him, but if that is the case surely it is pointless selecting him to be in the squad. Surely there must be someone in the youth teams that if push came to shove would be at least considered for some minutes.

I don't keep read in with the the development squads, so i guess my question would be, is there any player developing at the moment that would be more appropriate to select in the squad and give the experience to if Calvin is not the one? or are we short at RB across the board?

12 Feb 2026 09:58:50
Im defensive over Slot at times, alright, just like other people on here who constantly look for the slightest reason imaginable to have a dig at him. Just opposite ends of the argument. Dont think i've ever seen them being pulled on it though, which is surprising, seeing as how ridiculous it gets sometimes.

12 Feb 2026 10:00:49
Did those coaches also work at one of the biggest clubs on the planet, JLC? Fact is, there's many better options than Ramsey. The lad himself knows that. A non issue.

12 Feb 2026 10:02:25
Nail on the head, Ed001. Florian Musiala, I'm just not seeing how that's relevant. Ramsay was really struggling back then for any kind of fitness or rhythm. He had leg and back fratures which he took a long time to get back from. However, he's been fully fit now for over a year and been playing really well for our u21's.

Also, Harry Kane struggled for minutes when he was on loan at Norwich and Leicester in the Championship. It means absolutely nothing. McConnell and Clark couldn't get minutes at Ajax or Salzburg but guess what, Klopp trusted them in a cup final against Chelsea's £250m midfield, and they gave it a right go to help us win the game and the trophy. Jayden Danns also came on in that game. This is why many fans are so miffed about Slot's use of the younger players. We're so used to having an inspirational and brave manager who inspired and trusted young players to go above and beyond what they were capable of. Now we have someone totally out of touch with that ethos that our club is built on, who tears down confidence and belittles the very idea of playing young players.

Besides, it's less about whether Ramsay is good enough and more about not putting any man and his dog out of position just to avoid playing an actual RB at RB. Also, if you don't want to play Ramsay, stop banging on about it in press conferences. He's literally inviting the questions as well because he keeps putting Ramsay on the bench which makes it even more confusing not to even give him 5-10 minutes here or there. If you've no intention of playing him, just send him back to the u21's to enjoy his football and stop implying he's not good enough in public when people question why he's left on the bench.

Ramsay should play on Saturday. I wouldn't risk Gomez for 90 minutes just yet. Szoboszlai back in midfield, and give MacAllister a rest. He, along with Ekitike, were blowing again after 70 mins. Mamardashvili Kerkez VVD Konate Ramsay Szoboszlai Jones Nyoni Rio Chiesa Wirtz

12 Feb 2026 11:01:05
I know all about his injuries, MK. I was excited when we signed him, so kept track of him on all his loans, but it hasn't worked out. Nice one for pulling Harry Kane out of the bag as an example too.

How about throwing a few of the hundreds of young lads names who go out on loan and get found out, even at a much inferior level, just to balance the argument like..

12 Feb 2026 17:42:45
You're fighting a losing battle, Florian. People don't like Slot and will use whatever they can to pull him apart. All he actually said was he thinks he has better options than Ramsay for the RB position at the moment. That's it. He didn't say he's crap or that he will never be good enough, he just said he has better options at the moment. And, to be fair, he sees Ramsay every day in training, so he's in the best position to make that call.

The thing is, if he puts Ramsay in when he's not ready and he has a mare, and we lose a game because of him, then these same people will be saying they can't believe he's played Ramsay when we have Endo or Jones who can fill in until Frimpong is back. He can't win with some. I've said I do believe a change is needed, but I'm not on board with the witch hunt against Slot. It's very hard to read on here sometimes.

12 Feb 2026 19:43:24
Ramsay is a young lad who has suffered some long-term injuries and struggled to get back to his best, and he must have had something, or we would not have spent ten million pounds to bring him to the club. Arne has not realised that if Ramsay does not fit into his plans, then the club will have to move Ramsay on, and with the comments made to the MSM by Arne, we will lose a lot of the ten million fee we paid.

I don't think the owners will be happy with losing finances.

12 Feb 2026 21:07:34
@florian Musiala: your just looking for a fight lad. You can't defend the indefensible. Get him out the club get him gone he's sh*te anyway.

12 Feb 2026 21:41:39
Where did the 10m come from? Initial fee was 4.2m.

12 Feb 2026 00:45:07
Solid win. Not even bothered about performances now. We know it isn't going to change. As long as we get top 5 that'll do then reassess.

12 Feb 2026 00:00:33
First off, it was good to see the team play out a solid game and pick up the 3 points that were needed to keep in the hunt for CL place.

But point of the post was to congratulate The Ox on his debut stoppage time winner for Celtic tonight. Picked up MoM as well. I had a soft spot for the lad when he played for LFC and hope that he can stay fit up here in Scotland.

Love Joe Cole's comment about Salah being a 'little fella', when he's the same height as him.

See Jim Ratcliffe showing his true colours. Does he realise how many non-UK players are in his team? What an absolute shythouse.

Or that by moving to Monaco he's become exactly what he's criticising.

11 Feb 2026 22:56:49
those "foreigners" prob pay more tax than him too.

11 Feb 2026 23:20:54
The sad thing is that will be a popular comment with certain sections of the public and his own clubs fan base.

Post Deleted.

Ally "I'm on everything" McCoist has got to be the most anti Liverpool commentator on TV at the moment, he spouts pure ?.

Apparently you can't get an assist from a corner now.

11 Feb 2026 22:16:41
Unless your bruno, then you can waffle on about assist stats all game.

12 Feb 2026 09:47:31
The main one is worse (Darren Fletcher?). They all favour the underdog (or Arsenal) because it makes things more exciting for them, but on numerous occasions, whoever is alongside Fletcher will come out with a stat and then a couple of minutes later he will repeat the exact same stat like it is brand new information and passing it off as his own. Either he has built his entire career on plagiarism, or he is so arrogant that he doesn't even bother listening to whoever is sat alongside him co-commentating. TNT Sports really is the bottom of the barrel for coverage.

Excuse me now whilst I go listen to Andrew Cotter commentate on his dogs, Olive and Mabel, to calm down.

Mccoist is a Chelsea fan, so he does not really want Liverpool to win games so Chelsea get a Champions League place. Also, Mccoist signed for Sunderland but could not handle it, so ran back to Rangers, yet he is a pundit on Premier League games and Champions League, where he never got past the early rounds, and he is telling players what they should or shouldn't do.

I can't stand listening to him, and Fletcher bore the arse off me.

11 Feb 2026 13:46:09
Is there a world where Spurs come knocking for Slot? I'm sure I remember something on here saying Spurs are interested and that's why JH was signed? Could this bring Slot going forward?

11 Feb 2026 14:10:40
I really don't see Slot going to another PL club, he clearly misses his family a great deal - he's going back home as often as he can. I'd be shocked if he stayed in the UK after he's done here.

11 Feb 2026 14:50:16
His style of football, this season anyway, doesn't suit the Premier League.

11 Feb 2026 15:27:57
Maybe London is more appealing to his family han Liverpool Salah.

11 Feb 2026 15:56:04
Why would anybody prefer London to the greatest city on earth JLC?

11 Feb 2026 16:09:42
He should go to a league his football is suited to, he might win it. Oh wait.

11 Feb 2026 17:11:18
If Slot does make it to the summer he will no doubt be looking for long term guarantees wether it be here or elsewhere before he moves his family.
I can see a scenario where its a mutual agreement to leave and he takes some time before deciding his next move.

11 Feb 2026 19:07:19
He definitely won't go to Spurs now. not with them in a relegation battle.

Maybe at the end of the season, if they survive relegation, but he won't go now.

11 Feb 2026 21:24:22
Apparently, De Zerbi's top of the list. Spurs need somebody now, and obviously Slot's not available, if they only get a caretaker in i'm sure they'll be interested come May, but I doubt Slot will be keen. I can see him going to the Bundesliga if he's not staying on, more suitable for the family I reckon.

11 Feb 2026 23:23:25
His ego won't allow him to manage any smaller clubs, his ability won't allow him to manage any of the big clubs. He'll end out back in the Netherlands and do decent as his football works there. Maybe a miserable German team looking to take the step up to the next level.

12 Feb 2026 06:56:50
He'll go and manage and do well I'd say in another European league.

11 Feb 2026 10:04:03
De Zerbi, thoughts?

Agree0

11 Feb 2026 11:10:02
Perfect to replace Frank at Spurs.

11 Feb 2026 11:14:28
What? De Zerbi to us?

I'd Rather keep Arne!

11 Feb 2026 11:30:35
Don't want him or Slot. Would be a failure in recruitment. Can't believe anyone would sanely want that man in charge.

11 Feb 2026 12:44:59
Even Slot beat him 3-0 ?.

10 Feb 2026 23:27:28
Our next 5 games are
Sunderland away
Forest away
West ham home
Wolves away
Spurs home

Chelseas next four:-
Burnley
Arsenal
Villa
Newcastle

Utds next four:-
Everton
Palace
Newcastle
Villa

Villas next 5:-
Brighton
Leeds
Wolves
Chelsea
Utd

Win our 5 and we will back in top 5 imo. Absolutely no excuses now from the manager or the players.

Agree3

11 Feb 2026 04:45:48
The next 5 are not the worry, it's the following 8;
Brighton
Fulham
Everton
Palace
United
Chelsea
Villa
Brentford

Based on the form of the top 5, we need 7 wins 6 draws to be in with a shot. Not impossible, but it's unlikely, the odds are not in our favour.

11 Feb 2026 05:16:27
Funniest post is that we win our next 5.

That will be an unbeaten run to be proud of.

11 Feb 2026 06:39:07
On our form this season, we get 9 points KP. DDWDW. Chelsea 7 United 8 Villa 7. Might sneak 5th.

11 Feb 2026 11:00:29
Sunderland away - dropped points to them at Anfield, they'll probably take points off us again given that no one has beaten them at their place this season.
Forest away - They absolutely obliterated us at Anfield, their manager knows how to play against Slot and Slot hasn't got an answer. Feels like another bad result incoming.
West Ham home - Currently in better form than us, and given that Anfield is no longer a fortress (cheers Arne. ), every likelihood we'll contrive to gift them a draw.
Wolves away - Given the way we let them back into the game at Anfield, Wolves might see this as a chance to get a point.
Spurs home - Probably one of the only teams worse than us right now. You'd hope we can beat Spurs at home, but you can't write off our propensity to rubbish the bed.

We're in poor form, we've got a manager who has no idea on how to change things, we're second best all over the pitch, we're out run, out fought and out thought in almost every game. Feels like one of these games is going to be the one that costs Slot his job. There's almost no reasons to think we'd get maximum points. 6 points feels overly optimistic on current form.

11 Feb 2026 11:01:54
Red_Flyer69 - Yeah, that would make sense, if there were 5 games left. but there's 13. Anybody who seems to be positive about getting 5th is only mentioning the next 5 games and completely ignoring the fact that United, Everton, Chelsea, Villa and Brentford all have a good chance of beating us or taking points off.

The way things stand, we need something in the realm of 7 wins 6 draws to secure 5th, you've picked 2 wins out of the 5 easiest games. That means that by your reckoning we'd need to win 7 of our last 8 much more difficult games.

I love the enthusiasm but come on, come back down to earth mate.

11 Feb 2026 18:28:37
Chewy, I'll start off by saying that I am FAR from a Slot sympathizer or apologist. U said yourself top 5 is unlikely but possible. I believe that sneaking 5th would be along the lines of your own comments.

I think Slot should have gone after PSV and def after Forest. If we were back to the days of Klopp/ Guardiola fighting it out for the title, we'd need 14 or 15 points from the next 5 games. Sadly those days are gone for now and somehow what we're serving up is currently acceptable to the power brokers in the halls of Anfield.

Fortunately for us, the teams we're battling for CL are just as unpredictable as we are. I don't think there is a good team in the league and that includes Arsenal.

We have shown this season that when we play w the handbrake off, we can play some good football. It's beyond baffling that Slot can't see it and insists that his formula is correct. It's not and will likely result with him and the club parting ways.

Klopp created an unbelievable legacy. His connection with the fans, the club, the city. The "Slot era" is the exact opposite. He's numbing our sensations with this dreadful style of football and creating a new legacy which is not good enough for LFC nor should it be embraced or accepted.

11 Feb 2026 20:10:04
Barmy Arne has averaged 1.2 points in his last 20 matches. I do not have much hope of us getting anywhere near CL or European football if that form continues. 53 points will be lucky to see us in the top half of the table.

Arne is literally the worst manager across the last 20 games we have ever had in the Premier League. Can anyone let me know how he still has a job?

10 Feb 2026 21:15:09
Any interest in Tonali if its true he wants out of Newcastle. Love how he plays the game.
We seriously lack depth in midfield.

Agree1

11 Feb 2026 02:34:39
I don't think Newcastle will want to sell us another player anytime soon.

11 Feb 2026 05:17:07
Yeah. he can bet how many time Macca will drop to the floor like a sack of potatoes per game.

11 Feb 2026 06:40:26
Tonali said he'll never gamble again. He was offered 5:1 and he took the bet.

10 Feb 2026 16:57:19
Another youngster to keep an eye on is Said El Mala from Koln. Wanted by all the big boys and looks a real talent. 20 this year and a German national. Perfect Gakpo replacement.

Agree0

10 Feb 2026 18:00:33
Yip. because we all know how much Slot likes to give the youngsters a chance.

10 Feb 2026 20:21:30
We've just spent 60 million on a 20 year old. I suppose Slot must've said you can buy him but I ain't playing him.

11 Feb 2026 05:18:02
How do you know Slot was the one who wanted him Rome?

11 Feb 2026 08:24:58
Jesus lads.

10 Feb 2026 14:52:14
What is Arne slots problem with Ramsey as he has said he has no intention of playing him at right back even though he is our only fit one left.

Agree3

10 Feb 2026 16:31:46
It's been clear from day 1 that when Slot makes his mind up about a player that there's no convincing him of any alternative. He's stubborn as a mule, an arrogant to boot.

10 Feb 2026 17:00:17
He could barely get a game for Bolton and Wigan, he's not good enough.

10 Feb 2026 17:02:54
I'd just call him thick.

10 Feb 2026 21:54:15
In fairness Thunderbird similar could have been said of Phillips and Williams in 20/ 21 but they dug us out of a hole. An actual right back is more preferable than either of Endo or Jones there, Endo is far too slow and immobile, Jones is just awful defensively.

10 Feb 2026 23:51:52
Exactly what Viktor said. A natural RB is a way better option than playing players out of position. At the very most, it weakens one position on the field instead of two.

11 Feb 2026 02:36:26
Calvin Ramsay was knackered after 30 minutes against Palace, playing Endo there does not weaken the midfield.

11 Feb 2026 11:45:24
I have no problem with the idea that Ramsay is not good enough but why is he always on the bench if Slot is so adamant that he is never going to get on the pitch?
