Not Liverpool related, but I implore you all to tune into the Bayern vs PSG game if you haven't already. The best game I have seen in a long, long time. The attacking intent from both teams is incredible. The best advertisement for football there can be!

Jayus lads, this is some game between PSG and Bayern; makes ya jealous and sad to think not long ago we were as good, if not better, than both of them, but we're as far away from them as a lighthouse at the moment. Still great to watch.

I agree with the poster — comedy gold!

The level of toxicity against Slot is unwarranted!

Of course this season has been disappointing, but there are genuine mitigating consequences. Individually, the recruitment was impressive but left Slot with an unbalanced squad that lacked depth. Personally, assuming LFC finish top 5, I think Slot deserves another season, and if it’s bad then fine — shake hands and part ways!

Slot is lucky to remain in post after the losing run before Christmas, but as supporters, unhappy or not, the hiring and firing is beyond our control!

If Alisson leaves the only signing LFC should make is Kelleher.

I don’t think that would sit well with the big Geogian?!

As alluded to on here, I am pretty sure there was a brief saying Mama was preferred to Costa, etc., because he was deemed the best keeper in the age range.

Roefs looks decent, but having Mama, it’s a difficult sell to both him and potentially any incoming keeper should Ali leave.

The excuses being made for Slot, in a role he is being remunerated beyond measure for, to eff off home at every given opportunity and delegate responsibility to people not qualified to do his job.

Just watch this game, PSG vs Bayern, both attacking. The quality is exceptional.

We deliberately got knocked out of the cup at home for absolutely no reason, for no benefit to the season whatsoever. That's the difference.

Liverpool won the league last year, right folks? I am not happy with how this season has gone, but bitching and moaning about the current title winning Coach over and over again only turns this great page into an echo chamber!

In terms of ability and 1 on 1 saves, anyone you replace Ali with will be a downgrade!

In terms of his availability, that is a concern tho! Unless Hughes is going to immediately flip big Mama, how do you convince a top quality keeper to sign for Liverpool without upsetting the big Geogian?

Kelleher would not resign to compete, but he was the heir apparent whilst with LFC!

Generally Kelleher has been excellent for both Brentford and Ireland this year!

It may be that Slot leaving is the right call in the end.

But I tend to agree that the discourse around him and his coaching is way over the top.

There are factors that have hampered this season, as well as there have been decisions Slot has made that have made an impact as well.

But it seems like if you mention any of the factors, then the Slot out brigade get all fired up about it as if we're trying to make a campaign to save the world from Slot-ball warming.

Slot can lose his job and be 60% culpable. He is not 100%, no way. And making it all about him, imo, is shallow.

Totally agree @Faithinworks! If Slot had this season last year, but won the league this season, we would all be delighted!

I suspect Edwards and Hughes are using Slot as a fall guy to oversee club legends leaving! I would be surprised if Slot stays more than 3 years, but by then LFC should have a new squad at the start of a cycle to hand over to a new coach.

Great review. 💯 agree on the Palace goal. Also, it seems to me that Slot plays not to lose too many times, and, to me, that shows a lack of confidence. Not sure if it is a lack of confidence in himself or his players, but it is awful to watch. If he does that Sunday, it could be a long day.

Great post ed, what I don't understand is why the people making the decisions at the club can not see how awful the team plays, yet it seems that Slot will still be here next season.

I can't remember watching us play and thinking we are playing really well today.

He who acted like he was shot by Beckham wants the passion of Anfield despite not being popular with LFC fans.

Passionate and demands players actually put in work for their megabucks.

Has an option to stay one more year in Madrid but if he takes them to the CL Final against Bayern or PSG this is where he will bow out gracefully. Hope he does and crushes the little git Arteta.



Klopp has set the footprint for the style of manager we want and this guy gives us that in abundance - not calm or relaxed but passionate and intense in a more grown up way than Arteta the bottom lip trembler.

For me I’d be chuffed.

Slot is gone and has exit bonuses in addition to settling his contract. These bonuses are for getting CL football and 3rd 4th and 5th are ratcheted. He had one for winning CL but hey go.

He's an absolute fraud of a coach on top dollar, and terrible at what he does, other than playing constantly on the counter... People here, complaining about legohead negativity? This guy is far worse...

On top of that, the man doesn't speak a lick of English, so not so sure how he would motivate the players or teach them every little dirty trick he's got...
