Eds seen a rumour we are in for robertson of hill city any truth? Thanks.

steviep62

{Ed001's Note - we had a look at him a couple of seasons ago, when they were in the Prem last time around, not aware of any fresh interest though.}

1.) 22 Apr 2017 07:56:49
Please don't p*ss about with the left back position. Just go buy Sessengon from Fulham and develop him to cover that position from day 1 and for the next ten years.

2.) 22 Apr 2017 08:58:10
You heard him ed01 stop pissing about and sign sessegnon.

{Ed001's Note - on it now!}

3.) 22 Apr 2017 10:58:16
I think Robertson would be a good addition to the team . He's made his way to the Premier League the hard way pretty sure he wad released by Celtic as a youth then ended up part-time at Queens Park even working for the Hampden Park box office before being signed by Dundee United where his performances led to being signed by Hull. Great attitude, still young enough to become better, tactically astute and has good delivery from the left side . It annoys me a lot of people on social media sneering at the possibility of this move probably because he doesn't have an exotic surname, but for me I'd be chuffed if Robertson signed for us . A hungry Premiership ready young International natural left back who would understand what playing for Liverpool is all about.

4.) 22 Apr 2017 11:45:12
Ed01, I'm sure I've seen you say that you thought Sessegnon could go straight into our first team - do you think that's such a good idea given that everyone else thinks our defence is still inadequate? I mean if we had a superb back line then he may be able to slot straight in with the others covering his lack of experience however I'm not sure we have that at the moment so he may flounder with being so young.

{Ed001's Note - he is good enough to improve our back line, his lack of experience is not really an issue, the rest there have plenty.}

5.) 22 Apr 2017 12:21:42
Robertson reminds me of Steve Finnan, which is no bad thing as he was a quality footballer.

6.) 22 Apr 2017 12:28:11
But what about Sessegnon not being able to train full time? And is'nt he still going to school? That would probably mean him not training full time and maybe even missing some crunch games for us. Relying on a 17 year old no matter how good to be first choice is a very dangerous gamble.

{Ed001's Note - he can train plenty, he is 17 in the summer, he will be able to do his schooling around away games. He will be in college, technically, not school, from next year.}

7.) 22 Apr 2017 13:37:06
Hi Ed just been reading that we've been linked with Benzema and Lacazette for me it has to be Lacazette 2 reasons one he is younger and the other and for me more important Benzema's baggage i refer to his blackmailing of a fellow French footballer what do you think thanx scouser phil.

{Ed001's Note - I would avoid Benzema like the plague, the blackmail incident is the tip of a very nasty iceberg of involvement with gangs in his hometown. He is always in trouble off the pitch.}

8.) 22 Apr 2017 13:54:53
Is there really interest in Lacazette? What happens to Origi then? Not sure he would be too happy being 3rd choice CF.

9.) 22 Apr 2017 17:40:18
Ed 1 just out of interest what would be your perfect summer signing wise ins and outs?

{Ed001's Note - no idea mate. I haven't really given it much thought. Just so long as we improve the team I will be happy, particularly the fullbacks.}

10.) 22 Apr 2017 18:11:45
Would you like another rb or just see Trent given more of a chance.

{Ed001's Note - it really depends on how the lad develops. Right now he should be given more of a chance, but I feel he will end up in midfield long term, so we need a rb for me.}

11.) 22 Apr 2017 20:09:11
Funny you say that ed I think he will play on the right side of midfield tomorrow.

{Ed001's Note - certainly a possibility.}

12.) 22 Apr 2017 23:36:00
I'd be content to see a back line next season of.

Karius

Sessangon. Lovren Matip Alexander Arnold

Although I see improvement in Mignolet so may see him retain his place longer, depending on rest of this season.

Still it's only a if that Sessangon will be signed, not even sure Fulham would sell or we would pay asking price.

13.) 23 Apr 2017 11:18:21
I forgot to add the other youngster I'd really like us to sign early on in window with Sessenogn would be Brandt. I think these two would really flourish under Klopp and both in my opinion could play from the off in the first team. Maybe more so Sessenogn than Brandt. I think both players are attainable for us and if we got champions league that would help us also.

14.) 23 Apr 2017 12:37:59
Any player who can improve the back line should be considered regardless of age.

We play much better when we have a high defensive line to really squeeze the opposition into making a mistake. therefore our defenders need pace as there is a lot of space left behind the high line.

I think this is why Klaven and Lucas struggled and so did the results as the team unit had to play a lot deeper. It also reduced the attacking threat of the team.

15.) 23 Apr 2017 13:36:09
I'd be happy with sessegnon, has about as much experience as Milner left back and he's been out best full back! If also agree with Alexander Arnold, but like to see a top organiser at CB, help the young ones out! Matip starts with him, lovren and Gomez as back up.
Ideally I'd add a winger for competition, wouldn't see the need for a striker, even if sturridge does go, firmino and origi can play there, and if the new winger is adaptable, hoepfully can cover too if desperate!

16.) 25 Apr 2017 01:24:47
Lovren was woeful at the weekend

He was pulled out of position.

He put so much slice on one clearance that defied the laws of physics.

His distribution is poor and concentration non existent.

Yup you guessed it! we are negotiating a new long term contract for him.

You couldn't make it up.

We're as well to bring back djimi Traeore.

15 Apr 2017 01:09:36
Kolsaniac has joined aresnal! The same reports on bbc say ww have put van dijk at the top of our list and we want naby keita. we are also interested in jose giminez. don't know how true any of it is.

steviep62

1.) 15 Apr 2017 07:42:21
Have found BBC to be a cobbled together bunch of stories from rest of media, including this site at times. The quality seems to depend on hiw quiet their "sources" are and how many old stories they have to regurgitate to fill space.

2.) 15 Apr 2017 10:33:57
If we signed VVD and Giminez then Lovren, Sakho and Klavan would need to be moved on.

VVD would also become an expensive back up though because there is no chance he starts over Matip and Giminez. He is barely ahead of Joe Gomez in my opinion.

This VVD rumour just won't go away though, so I guess I need to sit on my reservations. Maybe he will learn some positional sense watching from the sidelines for 3 months!

3.) 15 Apr 2017 11:41:53
If we pay 50 million he's not going to be on the bench. We won't have a chance if city or chelsea want him anyway. Cheers.

4.) 15 Apr 2017 13:26:12
Not if we play 3 at the back formation.

5.) 15 Apr 2017 16:56:22
VVD only barely ahead of Gomez? I think you need to think that one a little more MK.

No chance of us signing Gimenez, and if he signed, he would be behind VVD, I can assure you.

6.) 15 Apr 2017 18:49:52
No doubt he'd be first choice when he first signed AG. Even Liverpool aren't mad enough to spend £50m on a player they see as a reserve. But within a year the pecking order would change in my opinion. I would genuinely feel more comfortable with Gomez at the back than VVD! He'd probably be worse initially but he has far more potential ability. I just think VVD would end up getting dropped when the club realise Skrtel had more positional awareness! As I say though it is only my opinion.

7.) 15 Apr 2017 21:59:37
I didn't say both vvd and jimenez. The bbc said we are interested in both.

8.) 15 Apr 2017 22:48:41
I suppose we can have more reasoned discussions if VVD signs, but as it stands right now, I think he is certainly more ready for first team opportunities than Gomez, who is still not fully recovered let's not forget.

9.) 18 Apr 2017 19:43:27
UI would take Jimenez ocver VVD anyday. Ther guy is simply not good enough and gets dragged out of position at will.

11 Apr 2017 18:43:05
Ed02 you were talking about left backs in detail. I and others agreed with you when we couldve had bertrand from chelsea he wouldve been ideal.
Youve talked about kolsaniac going to milan is that still on? Any hope we could still get him? Or is it perira now? Thanks.

steviep62

{Ed002's Note - It is subject to Milan fixing an issue they have.}

1.) 12 Apr 2017 01:53:09
Thanks ed.

2.) 12 Apr 2017 02:16:50
the issue being the takeover of milan ed002?

{Ed002's Note - Yes.}

3.) 12 Apr 2017 13:21:48
Cheers kk wasnt aware of that.

4.) 13 Apr 2017 16:21:29
its been confirmed today, ac milan are now Chinese owned.

19 Jan 2017 10:06:42
Eds it seems very quiete on the GENUINE transfer news re left back lcb and left winger- in my opinion the position s we really need to add to. Ilori gone sakho goingso cb quality needed along side matip. milner doing well at lb but would be available for midfield if a lb signed. And we've seen the impact mane has made someone on the left side with similar impact would be great news. Any eds have anything? Or do you really think no signings in January? Thanks for all you do.

steviep62

{Ed002's Note - Why would Liverpool buy a centreback to replace two who were not in the first team squad Stevie? I remain of the opinion that if the right player were available at the right price something can be done - but I am sure the club will not look to knee jerk purchases and I am sure Klopp realises that it is not the time to rock the boat and disrupt a team doing pretty well.

As for left back - looking for a pre-contract with Sead Kolasinac is not out of the question as has been previously explained.}

1.) 19 Jan 2017 10:36:43
New CB - Gomez. New LB - Juanma

2.) 19 Jan 2017 11:21:39
Cheers ed. Re cb not just sakho and ilori leaving ed- in my opinion lovren and klavan not good enough and gomez inexperinced. I would go for someone - as said before- even short term eg fonte- that helpslto win the prem. Just my opinion. Thanks ed

{Ed002's Note - So basically you have no time for any of the Liverpool centre backs except Matip. If Liverpool are to sell Gomez, Klaven or Lovren this month then it makes sense to get another centre back in.}

3.) 19 Jan 2017 14:49:13
C'mon ed002, now we have been named as the 9th richest club we can afford a few £80-90 million transfers, yeah? I'd say 9 new first team centre backs is a priority.

4.) 19 Jan 2017 15:58:19
I didn't say gomez wasnt good enough. I don't rate lovren or klavan as good enough. As for sarcastic remarks- tristan- i Certainly wasnt suggesting aby great expendiure at cb as i said someone short term to help win the prem. It seems people aren't allowed an opinion! !

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool are not the 9th richest club.}

5.) 19 Jan 2017 19:31:31
The opinion on lovren / klavan is fine but your logic around recruiting isnt.
Lovren and klavan are doing a decent enough job for us. As it stands, we would only bring in a CB if we were selling one. So if that is the case, can we even do that sort of business in January that would bring about the definite succeed you crave? Cos any transfer like that would have to deliver the title this season otherwise it is a failure and a monumentus waste of time and money

6.) 19 Jan 2017 20:21:26
9th in the list of turn over for the year.
Are we carrying much debt now Ed?
I suppose the new stand and Brendan Rodgers still
have to be paid for.

Are we financially in good shape compared with the other top 6 prem clubs?

{Ed002's Note - You cannot equate the two. Turnover for one year in 9th place does not make anyone the 9th richest. Liverpool are in good shape but have significant debts to address. If the current ownership were to look to Phase 2 of the stadium they would be stupid (quite honestly). In the big scheme of things the increased media money is a massive plus and Liverpool are in decent shape.}

7.) 19 Jan 2017 20:33:37
Really! Definate success? I didn't say it would definetly give us the title. I said i help it! As i said my opinion.

8.) 20 Jan 2017 00:09:54
Financially, why can't we be as shrewd as Chelsea to sell players we don't want at premium price to China?

{Ed007's Note - The player's aren't good enough, or maybe high profile enough, to attract those kind of bids.}

9.) 20 Jan 2017 11:26:12
Ed's right, we're not the 9th richest. According to Forbes, we're 8th.

10.) 20 Jan 2017 14:15:10
Leekuanyew, it's really not as simple as that. I'm sure they would give us oodles of cash for our top players, but who would you sell? There's nobody I'd want to lose from the current 1st team.
Sakho perhaps? A cool 20 mil for him would be nice, but I don't think he fancies China just yet.
Sure, certain players like Lovren or Moreno could be replaced with upgrades if somebody paid us over the odds for them, but I don't see that happening either. It's a certain profile of player that they want in China, but we don't have mercenaries like Oscar, Witsel, Hulk or Tevez for example. Perhaps only Sturridge would make any sense, and sure enough, if we got a whopper offer, I'd sell.

10 Aug 2016 08:41:48
Eds seeing rumours re leandro of roma. Anything in that or old rumour from earlier in the ysar?

steviep62

{Ed002's Note - Roma's Leandro Paredes may be sacraficed to add to the transfer budget this summer after a season on loan at Empoli. There remains the chance of an exchange which has also been discussed with Fiorentina. No firm offers have been made at this time but he has been watched by a number of clubs including Milan, Fiorentina, Chelsea and Manchester City. There has been an approach made by Monaco. He has been offered to Bologna on loan as part of a deal for Diawara.}

Eds is grujic fit enough now? Would love to see him play a major part of a game especially with the injuries.

steviep62

{Ed001's Note - yes.}

1.) 09 Apr 2017 13:19:07
Cheers ed.

26 Mar 2017 08:27:41
Eds do you think klopp will be happy with karius taa matip gomez? As a back four just a new left back perirea?

steviep62

{Ed001's Note - not if Gomez doesn't improve over the second half of the season. The lad has just come back from a serious injury, it will take him a long time to be back to his best, probably will be another season of recovering for him to be honest.}

1.) 26 Mar 2017 09:02:25
I doubt that will be our line up next season. Periera will replace Clyne as first choice RB, Matip and LOvren will be the CBs and Milner will continue at LB till one of the young LBs we are looking at settle in and are ready for first team action. TAA is still learning his trade and will be rotated at RB. Gomez is probably another season away from being first choice CB.

2.) 26 Mar 2017 09:45:10
Ed01 thanks if gomez isn't ready do you think lovren will remain klopps preference or? No mention of cbs on ed02 sharkopod.

{Ed001's Note - Lovren is the first choice right now, when fit.}

3.) 26 Mar 2017 13:30:03
Indian,
Perrerra could play on both the flanks which is a bonus and there has been no indications on offloading Clyne!

4.) 26 Mar 2017 12:13:04
Ed01 thanks for your time who would be your choice for cb, lb? .

{Ed001's Note - I would prefer to wait on centre back and give Gomez another season to get back to his best. Left back I would go for Tierney.}

5.) 26 Mar 2017 13:17:06
Is there a reason why juanma has not developing, everybody seems to rave about him but he is not even close to the under 23 squad much less the first team?

{Ed001's Note - what? Since when has he not been close to the U23s? That is simply crap. When fit he has been in the team as either left back or centre back.}

6.) 26 Mar 2017 18:50:35
Cheers ed01 appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - though I would have to say the Espanyol left back would be tempting if we could get him ahead of one of the big 3 in Spain. Espanyol have a lot of talent coming through their academy right now.}

7.) 28 Mar 2017 11:00:53
Is that the kid Hernandez, the young LB on loan at Espanyol from Athletico? If true, I see that he is highly rated as well.

09 Mar 2017 20:46:57
Eds reds just watching shalke v mgbach. i've read on here we are interested in nastasic abd kolsiniac of shalke - both playing well. Dahoud looks fantastic! ! Any news on these three players joining liverpool?

steviep62

1.) 10 Mar 2017 15:40:35
We are interested in both Kola and Nasta BUT I think interest in Dahoud has cooled.

2.) 11 Mar 2017 00:51:26
Cheers noah.

01 Jan 2017 00:40:36

eds merry xmas all sorts of rumours re players coming in hart van dijk etc it seems sule going to munich would tah be the best bet for cb if sakho etc leave?

steviep62

{Ed001's Note - I would say Gomez was the best bet....}

1.) 25 Dec 2016 15:22:16
Cheers ed.

Zonal marking if your nannmoves to another players zone he takes him so lovren was at fault. True can shouldve done more but once benteke moved lovren should take benteke lovren looked at him then ball watched under 12s mistakes!

I wanted bertrand over moreno. Van dijk is a talented player but his discipline is poor gets moved out if posistio too much too easily. Having said that if david luiz can be coached and sort similar problems out maybe vvd can? .
