Hi ed. Is it true about arthur from juve on loan?

aussieMARK

{Ed002's Note - Arthur Melo (CM/DM) Available - has not worked out in Europe. Barcelona skinned Juventus of Pjanic and cash and it has largely been a disaster in Turin. Juventus want to revamp the midfield with Arthur, McKennie, Ramsey and Rabiot all seen as surplus to requirements. All are for sale and all can be used in exchanges. The problem remains finding takers for the likes of these players who pull a total of €600k in weekly wages will be difficult - but there are interested clubs out there. Arsenal have asked after taking Arthur on loan - and that might be attractive if a buyer can't be found and Arsenal were to pay his wages. I am sure there is knocking on the door of St James Park. Valencia off a solution but no agreement on fee just yet. I understand he has been considered by Liverpool but Klopp has ruled out any additions.

1.) 01 Sep 2022 13:15:49
Lots of ifs and buts on whether Arthur will be a success. Particularly maintaining fitness and pace of EPL. However, like the out of the box thinking from the recruitment team, definitely worth the rolling of the dice, particularly with so many Brazilians/ South Americans to welcome him. Also like how this went under the radar and no one saw it coming, despite some journos saying we’ve been tracking the lad for some time. Without the buy option, looks to be a stop gap until the main targets are secured. But welcome to Liverpool Arthur, I hope you smash it here.

2.) 01 Sep 2022 14:57:20
Lets hope he's better than Sahin, Caulker or Kabak. Im never too confident on the success of our last minute loan deals.

3.) 01 Sep 2022 15:30:48
The only problem with no buy option is that Juve could charge us a colossal fee if he kills it and we decide we want to keep him.

4.) 01 Sep 2022 19:32:28
Very Dangerous loan, with us trying to go young and getting teenagers Elliott and Carvalho, among other young players if my memory is correct, that guy partied in barcelona hard enough to bring back images of Ronaldinho and Deco days, not exactly someone you want to be around impressionable teenagers, thought Peredes of PSG would had been better option.

5.) 01 Sep 2022 21:08:09
mfils - that's a good point. I would have thought if we were going to bring in a midfielder on loan it'd be more of a Milner/ Henderson type not another pseudo-Thiago cos Elliot and Carvalho are the ones who will bring that creativity and technical ability to the middle of the park.

anyways it's an extra body. Worse case is that he is injured at the same time as everyone else. Middle case is he rotates in and out of the injury room with the other midfielders so we always have 4-5 available. Best case he fulfils his potential in a season and helps us!

6.) 01 Sep 2022 22:34:49
Guys, he's supposed to be a defensive midfielder with very good passing range and ability. Someone to backup or play next to Fabinho - isn't that what everybody wanted?

It's a loan with no option to buy, so yes it's a stop gap, and clearly not seen as a long term solution by the club. If we go by several rumours, the club has other plans.

7.) 02 Sep 2022 01:24:06
@ArAy, just because we got what we wanted doesn’t mean that now we have it we don’t want something else and that we didn’t really want what we said we wanted 5 minutes ago.

From my perspective I said, at the start of the window, about 20 years ago I think, that I thought we were short of cover for number 6. Well, despite the board, and everyone connected with it naming literally dozens of midfielders nobody actually mentioned Arthur until after he had got on a flight to Liverpool yesterday morning, the irony being that he covers the position that we needed cover for in the first place.

I think he is a very good option. Good player (from the very little I’ve seen) and fills that gap we tend to have between the teens and the over 30 brigade. Interesting that we’ve covered our a#se in the end with the option to buy at the end of the season. I suspect he might be a good fit.

8.) 02 Sep 2022 10:40:35
Being reported there is an option to buy at the end of the loan. £37.5m over 2 years.

Martinelli would be my dream incoming. But i know its not happening.

aussieMARK

{Ed001's Note - why would he? What is special about him? His best position is left wing, so he would be up against Diaz. He doesn't score a lot, doesn't show good movement or intelligence. He is just flashy. I don't understand the hype with him.}

1.) 07 Jun 2022 08:32:03
I’m with you Ed I don’t see all the hype tbh mate lots of pace a tricks but very little end product and I would have Diaz over him every day of the week. I guess some are clutching at straws Ed with regards to possible incoming forward players to replace Mane after Ed002 summary yesterday all the names we have been linked with seemingly dismissed apart from Dembele. We are all hoping we can get a works class forward or striker to replace Mane within our budget which is going to be tough.

{Ed001's Note - Mane wasn't seen as world class when we signed him either, but he did offer an end product, which Dembele does as well to be fair. His issue is attitude and fitness.}

2.) 07 Jun 2022 08:35:12
He would be a perfect candidate for a football based Harlem Globetrotters.

{Ed001's Note - spot on mate.}

3.) 07 Jun 2022 09:32:02
Ed001, given Klopps interest in Dembele in the past, and the fact he is on a free now (but with, no doubt, a massive signing on bonus request), he could very well be coming in this summer.

How would you feel about such a signing?

In my opinion, he has shown what he can do in the past, sporadically but not consistently. He was, at one stage, going to be the next big thing, and he's only 25 now. I believe he could end up being a star for us and be a decent Salah replacement on the RW.

{Ed001's Note - it would not be my choice, but if that is what Klopp chooses I will just hope that, as usual, he is right and not me.}

4.) 07 Jun 2022 09:51:28
But Dembele plats on the right does t he where as Mane has been central so I don’t see how getting Dembele works tbh unless we plan on playing Salah centrally where he is less affective?

5.) 07 Jun 2022 10:06:21
DTD, I would imagine, if we got Dembele, he would be a Salah replacement as Mane has already been replaced by Diaz.

6.) 07 Jun 2022 09:51:43
Thanks for the reply Ed001, Klopp has done really well in the transfer market for us, only really Naby that hasn't worked as well as his price tag suggested he should.

Who would be your choice, out of interest? Based on who I have seen play the most, I would probably choose Bowen, even over Dembele, albeit the transfer fee could be quite high with West Ham. He seems like a Klopp player and has had the Premier League experience that Dembele lacks. Nunez did look good against us, but would be a gamble for a club like us if he ends up costing anywhere near the £80m or so that his club are looking for, especially without EPL experience.

{Ed001's Note - I do like Bowen and I would be happy with him but I would suggest Nkunku. Bowen I would have over Nunez though it is not really an either or as Bowen is for the right, whereas Nunez would be in the centre.}

7.) 07 Jun 2022 10:29:35
Zeddicus, could be right that respect but the fact that Salah is staying this season and if Dembele arrives then we still have a problem centrally with Mane leaving? Which is why either we play Salah central or we bring in a striker as well as Dembele which I also don’t see happening with our finances. Also with Dembele injury record Salah will have to play most games anyway. I don’t know tbh we seem to be patching up instead of being able to buy the right players and like for like replacements.

8.) 07 Jun 2022 10:48:36
" I don’t know tbh we seem to be patching up instead of being able to buy the right players and like for like replacements. "

We're just speculating on a rumours site. Let's see what actually happens. Most of my info, outside of this site, comes from commercial tabloid sites like the Echo, which have to make up x number of stories every day to keep their site fresh!

If Dembele comes to us then Klopp must have a plan for him - for example, Mane being converted from a RW when he arrived to a LW and then a striker. Or, going back further, Henry being converted from a winger to one of the world's best strikers.

Given the way we play, we have a fluid front 3 anyway. The Eds have suggested that Elliot could be groomed for the Bobby role, or Carvalho. There will possibly be a player coming in to take Divocks role and maybe he will be more of a regular than a Fairclough.

I love this time of the season as it's great to read the rumours and then compare them to what ends up happening!

If Klopp does have a plan involving youngsters (like Elliot or Carvalho) developing into front 3 roles, I'd LOVE to see a certain Polish striker come and complete his medal haul with us, but that's the beauty of this time of year! We can all have a dream!

9.) 07 Jun 2022 10:56:45
I really like Martinelli. Think he has a big future if he can get over his muscle injuries and play regularly. However, I think Arsenal would want a lot of money for him and there are better more cost effective options.

10.) 07 Jun 2022 11:21:15
Ousmane Dembele to LFC - a 6-year saga.
It'll be the Simao of this era.

11.) 07 Jun 2022 14:38:51
Except I really wanted us to sign Simao. And there was evidence that Simao was actually footballer and not a glorified hospital patient, Pelican. I’m just hoping Chelsea pull their finger out and get Dembele done. Pulisic needs the company in the treatment room.

12.) 07 Jun 2022 16:59:49
Martinelli? I wonder if people actually watch this kid play. Apart from pace and knocking the ball past a flat footed defender, the guy is bang average with very little end product. It is the same with Tielemans. Flashy and all that when he has the ball BUT when he doesn't have the ball or if LC is starved of possession, an absolute passenger to near invisible. Nope, Martinelli can stay well away from Anfield, same for the overrated Tielemans.

Hello fellow fans. Its been a long time between posts, but still check in when i can.
Just a question about mo. he's said in an interview with 442 that signing a new contract isn't about the money. And that the fans know what he wants. So the question is, does everyone else know something i don't know?

aussieMARK

1.) 23 Apr 2022 11:09:04
I don't know but length of contract?

2.) 23 Apr 2022 11:09:46
He wants the stadium name to be changed to Salanfield. I thought everyone knew that?

3.) 23 Apr 2022 11:26:46
It’s money it’s always money.

4.) 23 Apr 2022 12:08:05
A pyramid, 4 camels and Dejan Lovren.

5.) 23 Apr 2022 12:34:26
It’s definitely not just about money.
But yeah, it’s about money.

6.) 23 Apr 2022 13:58:16
All the fans have the full inside info. Its the money.

7.) 23 Apr 2022 20:23:48
He wants a lifetime deal. Liverpool won't give more than 3 years at very high wages. Would make him easily the highest paid in epl bar ronaldo.

8.) 24 Apr 2022 12:03:41
OP, anytime anybody says it’s not or not bout the money, it is ALWAYS about the money first.

29 Jan 2022 02:41:05
Ive only seen diaz play against us in the champions league. So thought I'd go look at some highlights. Yes i know it's not the best way to judge a player but he looks like a Suarez/ Mane hybrid from the highlights. I must say if that's what we are getting i won't be at all disappointed.

aussieMARK

{Ed0666's Note - I was reading somewhere that Porto fans are genuinely pissed because we’ve stolen him. Maybe that’s the negotiation strategy going forward let spurs do the bidding and we just offer a tenner more than spurs and seal the deal. It’s genius strategy I tell you.

1.) 29 Jan 2022 03:48:07
I just hope he’s not a Nunez/ Ngog hybrid.

2.) 29 Jan 2022 05:36:19
Chelsea have been doing similar to that to us for years too ed. Although they've probably payed a lot more than we were willing to pay for a few of them.

3.) 29 Jan 2022 06:53:50
He's going to be Mane's replacement. Mane will be Salahs replacement. let's hope we can sign the young kid from Fullham. And that would be a good window. Maybe the young foward from real madrid as well. Sell taki, origi, phillips and williams and it will be an awesome window for the future.

4.) 29 Jan 2022 07:12:51
Divock doesn't want to leave.

5.) 29 Jan 2022 08:13:55
Divock is happy to sit on the bench it’s not what we want all the best to him on his new pastures!

6.) 29 Jan 2022 09:10:29
Of course he doesn’t Barry. He is being paid a good chunk for doing absolutely nothing 😀😀.

7.) 29 Jan 2022 11:23:59
Divock will sit on the sidelines like Karius - the only difference between them is that we all have happy memories of Origi -neither player will ever be forgotten by the fans .

8.) 29 Jan 2022 22:27:09
Comparing Divock to Karius is just embarrassing.

9.) 29 Jan 2022 22:41:15
Oli - are you really stupid? Both players will stay until the end of the season with little or no time on the pitch - that is what they have in common. Your comment is what is embarrassing.
Origi will always be remembered because of the special goals that he scored, Karius by the (un) special goals that he conceded !

Hello friends, its been a while. I would just like to give my best wishes to you all in these terrible times. The whole world is effected by this virus and i wish the best for you all and hope we all come out of this ok. Football has to take a back seat in times like these as much as I had hoped to have already celebrated the title coming home. Hopefully this can be resolved at some point although the shine has been taken off the season we've had, we can all look back on what a fantastic team we have and what they have produced is something to behold. Again, all the best to you and your family and stay safe.

Ed001, I was wondering if you have had a bit more of a look at Minamino to see what he's like. If so do you see a star in the making? I have gone and done the old you tube search but of course they are just highlights.

aussieMARK

{Ed001's Note - I haven't had a chance to see any more. Sorry.}

1.) 18 Dec 2019 09:29:25
Liverpool are perhaps the best team in the world. I've been saying this for 30 odd years and it's rarely (if ever) been true, now it is. Can't believe it.

Anyway, not many players have ripped us apart this season. Minamino is one of the very very few in an exclusive club. Hope we get the deal over the line.

{Ed025's Note - yeah robbie but how will klopp pick his forwards now?.....maybe he will go....gini, mini, mane, mo.. :)

2.) 18 Dec 2019 10:47:33
I know nothing about the lad but I trust Klopp/ the club. If he joins then we welcome him to the family and hope for the best. Good luck to the lad.

3.) 18 Dec 2019 10:48:19
Catch firmino by the toe.

4.) 18 Dec 2019 09:37:50
Quality Ed 25.

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate...but i did steal it..

5.) 18 Dec 2019 09:50:33
Love it ed025! I feel like we should fit firmino in there somewhere.

6.) 18 Dec 2019 19:36:37
Or Ed25, Klopp could just pick Origi thus, sending you to complete meltdown.

{Ed025's Note - if he playes like tonight i will be well happy RM, he was a bag of turkish delight as was gomez and lallana and shaqiri, but again you get the luck which is impossible to fight against...it makes me sick it really does mate..

7.) 18 Dec 2019 23:18:35
The better we get the luckier we get Ed :-)

Someone remind me why Evertonians are known as bitters?

Calf strain, 2-4 weeks usually. let's hope it's not that bad. Michael Owen at half time was trying to say that it could be his Achilles. if it was his Achilles he wouldn't have walked off the pitch that's for sure.

Trouble is when you set certain standards. Then play well below them it is not really good enough. that's a professionalism issue. What sport is best at, is allowing supporters to tune out of every day life problems for a couple of hours and engross themselves in the team they love. So when the team doesn't apply themselves, and or play well below the set standards people are entitled to not be happy. Certain name calling etc is never right. But to not be happy and want change is a normal human response.

We started the second half looking much better with firmino picking up dangerous positions. I think klopp should have stuck with how we were for atleast another 10 minutes. Bringing on milner at rb at that point was bizarre and changed what momentum we had instantly as the ball went straight past him every time. I get klopp is probably worried about injuries and is rotating more than he'd like. But we can't afford to keep dropping points atm. We are really lacking a box to box running machine that can cover space left by others.

Faith, i don't think coutinho left a hole at all. Klopp played him left wing and mane moved there after mo came in. Losing coutinho only made us stronger by using the money to buy becker and virgil. I do agree in the hope that carvalho isn't made to play as an 8. But klopp hasn't got much wrong with positioning of players so far. I think we end up moving to 4231 when nunez plays so the 10 could go the 1 of jones, Elliott or fabio. That would also give 1 of fabinho, hendo, thiago a rest each game which would only help out over a long season and maybe mean we don't necessarily need a new mid just yet?

aussieMARK

{Ed001's Note - getting rid of Couts improved us massively. He is a good player but he did not suit the way Klopp wanted to play and held us back.}
