Ed001 quick question not liverpool related. Have you seen any of Daniel arzani from the socceroos? And if so what do you think from the little you may have seen? He should have a decent future and is by far the best talent to come out of Australia since harry kewell. He plays for man city's Melbourne club.

{Ed001's Note - sorry no, not seen him play much.}

1.) 22 Jun 2018 11:27:12
He did well for us last night against Denmark, Mark. Hope he gets to start against Peru, mate!

2.) 22 Jun 2018 11:27:29
I like the look of the guy leckie. He seemed really switched on yesterday. Lit up the team. Done some meters too.

3.) 22 Jun 2018 11:35:36
not seen much of him either but he does look a sharp lively player. if he plays for that Melbourne club then city will have first dibs on him won't they?

Seems to have a bit of aaron ramsey about him but plays on the wing too, could be worth a punt.

4.) 22 Jun 2018 11:39:45
Thanks for your reply. I'm positive you will see much more of him over the next few years. Australia is a bit of a sleeping giant in that football is still becoming more mainstream a bit like America.

5.) 22 Jun 2018 12:07:51
Apart from. US has s massive population just getting into football.
Thought leckie was look, but he is to reliant on his mate Gaz lolol.

6.) 22 Jun 2018 12:24:44
How far down the pecking order would you say football is Mark mate?

Cricket
Aussie rules
Rugby
Football?

7.) 22 Jun 2018 13:00:29
Id say -
Rugby league
Cricket
Aussie rules
Sheep sh***ing
Surfing
Swimming
Drinking
2 up
Union
Football
Fly swatting.

8.) 22 Jun 2018 14:16:03
Prince Hendo, your order is pretty spot on. One day football will be number 1 in Australia.

21 Jun 2018 20:45:16
Otamendi back in form kicking kacatic while he was on the ground. Typical.
I feel sorry for messi. Argentina just never seem to click.

{Ed001's Note - isn't that partly down to Messi disappearing up his own arse every time a tournament comes around?}

1.) 21 Jun 2018 20:55:17
Lol Ed001. Think he is competing with Ronaldo on how far they can get up their own arses. Ronaldo still winning the golden cock trophy for me.

{Ed001's Note - but he turns up when it matters and drags his team through. Messi just complains and whines.}

2.) 21 Jun 2018 21:20:25
Messi just doesn't look interested, and for me, doesn't deserve to start. Think Huguain with Dybala and Aguero supporting, would suit them better as a team. Although this Argentina side has got to be the worst I've seen since I watched my first world cup in 1978.

3.) 21 Jun 2018 21:23:27
After say Ed01.Rakatic looks a great player. Watched him a few time but thought he has been great in last two games.

Do you think he still has what it takes?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, he looked finished earlier in the season, but seems to have returned to form lately. It might be the slower pace of games is suiting him, because his legs were looking like they were on the way out.}

4.) 21 Jun 2018 21:48:43
It shows why the Messi- maradona debate is rediculous.
Maradona single handily drive Argentina to world cup, Messi is always a no show.

5.) 21 Jun 2018 21:57:57
Cheers ed01! Yeah could be. Argies have been poor.

6.) 21 Jun 2018 22:06:41
Just amazed with that performance. Have never seen Argentina play so badly. Sampaoli has not prepared his team well at all and deserves part of the blame.

7.) 21 Jun 2018 22:14:39
Argentina is blessed with lots of talented forwards, but that's a extremely weak midfield.

8.) 21 Jun 2018 22:40:42
Jonpow- Rakatic has had a good season after looking like his career was on the wane, pretty much coincided with us being linked.

9.) 21 Jun 2018 22:43:06
Looks like Sampaoli needs Juanma Lillo to succeed.
Just my opinion, but having a playmaker like Banega might have actually freed up Messi in the final 3rd.

10.) 21 Jun 2018 23:29:57
Argentina being this poor shouldn't be a surprise. Got through South American qualifying by the skin of their teeth. Interestingly, this feels like a world cup with little to choose between teams. We could see a surprise winner this time.

11.) 21 Jun 2018 23:31:55
Redphil you are right what u are saying lad, messi is nothing to maradonna twice he single handly took argentina to world cup success with a worse team they have now. Messi is no comparison to diego, not in the same league, one was arguably the best player there has ever been the other just thinks he is the best player ever.

12.) 21 Jun 2018 23:33:10
As much as I can’t stand Ronaldo I’ve got to admit his will to win and fighting spirit is far greater than Messi’s on the international stage. I still think Messi’s the better player but he’s been extremely disappointing so far.

13.) 22 Jun 2018 00:19:24
Was involved in the Rakitic debate last transfer window when everyone slated first team barcelona midfielder, player adored by every coach and player he played with, player that was sevilla captain and player that won trophies all of our first team players can dream off. Rakitic is class and something closest to Xabi Alonso. He can walk and will be useful on the pitch and you can say his legs are gone but he is always im top 3 runners in his team. He is so smart in reading, has excelent passing and dead ball. He would be a welcoming addition to any club in the world I just don't see how the ed01 who has so much knowledge about the game doesn't see it lol.

14.) 22 Jun 2018 00:36:14
Croatia is a team full of players at big clubs none of whom get pampered or overhyped. Mandukzic Lovren Modric and Kovacic all playing in the semi-finals of the champions league all of them doing their job with pride for their national team. Messi on the other hand was sulking like a spoilt brat. Give me 11 team mates over 1 over indulgded super star any day.

15.) 21 Jun 2018 21:43:37
True ed. But I think he should play on a wing to open up space for the rest of his team. As he always has 3 opposition players around him. I just feel sorry for him because of the pressure he would be under from the Argentine public. And I know all players from every country have pressure on them but messi is clearly an introvert unlike Ronaldo who loves any kind attention. I can relate.

{Ed001's Note - he plays where he wants to play. If Messi is such an introvert he would not do half the personal appearance stuff he chooses to do or the ads etc.}

16.) 22 Jun 2018 01:38:50
Maradona is EASILY the best there has ever been.

Not only did he drag Argentina to 2 World Cup finals (one win), but he also dragged Napoli through an entire season and won their first Scudettos ever.

He’s a genius. He did it when defenders could tackle, you played with a ball (not a balloon) and you played on earth and grass, not these grass effect carpets they have now.

17.) 22 Jun 2018 05:14:16
Modric looking best midfielder of the tournament so far, Croatia could be very dangerous. Very open WC so far, wouldn’t discount England going far if the forwards can click.

18.) 22 Jun 2018 05:25:05
Didnt Pele do the same thing ron.

{Ed001's Note - hardly the same. Brazil were always the best team with wonderful players around him for Pele to work with. Argentina were awful but had Maradona.}

19.) 22 Jun 2018 08:05:46
Didn’t realize the disliking u had for Messi ed01. Have to say I think your being a bit harsh on this occasion. That Argentina team is Awful, from back to midfield there is no service and all the do is give the ball to Messi when he isn’t even in positions to recieve it, then expect (along with the nation) for him to come up with some miraculous. That’s not easy when you have 3 or 4 players running to close you down every time and everyone is focused on stopping you cos they know the other 80 % of the team is useless!

{Ed001's Note - I don't dislike him, I don't care about him one way or the other. Messi was not even trying, that is down to him and making excuses for him being a spoilt brat is not helping anyone.}

20.) 22 Jun 2018 08:13:41
Fair enough, we will have to agree to disagree on that one mate.

21.) 22 Jun 2018 08:40:46
Messi thinks the world revolves around him and that's a reason why I'm not keen on the man. He kind of reminds me of a teenage girl at times, if he doesn't get it his way he spits his dummy out.

22.) 22 Jun 2018 11:58:55
I lost any respect for messi after the tax scam thing. a multi millionaire like that? probably a billionaire.

sorry but that is the behaviour of a c u next Tuesday. and a slap in the mouth of all the working class people that spend their hard earnewd wages on tickets.

23.) 22 Jun 2018 12:17:44
I think it's fair to say modric has been the best cm so far but I reckon r kid Jordan is up there too. Only one game so let's see how we do on Sunday. If that volley had gone in I think he would be right up there.

24.) 22 Jun 2018 12:34:55
Sorry to go on. I don't see why people were expecting so much from Argentina, they barely just qualified, skin of their teeth. Which is surprising when you look at them on paper.

Wales did well 2 yrs ago with 1 World class player and 3 good (ish) players, I think you have to look at their team spirit. Argentina should not be drawing with Iceland. Take away Iceland 4 top players and Messi probably earns more in 5 yrs of wages than the whole team of Iceland is worth in value.

Ed002 if I could ask a question.
Using a few Portuguese clubs as an example, with them putting ridiculous prices on their players heads through release clauses. Do players think twice about signing for them as it can be really hard to get a move? Or isn't that an issue?

{Ed002's Note - The release clauses are or no relevance.;Portugal is financially strapped so if there are players clubs want they can be negotiated for.}

1.) 10 Jun 2018 00:13:08
Gelson Martins all day long please I would love too get him.

2.) 10 Jun 2018 04:22:41
Thanks for the reply 002 much appreciated.

08 Jun 2018 08:44:49
Hey guys how did young trent do in his debut?

1.) 08 Jun 2018 09:11:37
Played very well I believe and took a lot of the set pieces.

2.) 08 Jun 2018 09:22:20
Should be a starter with Hendo imo.

3.) 08 Jun 2018 09:31:59
He defended well when he had to and was excellent in build up play down his flank.

However, his crossing from dead ball and open play was very flat. He was putting enough pace on them to still cause problems and win corners though. He only found an England player once, and on that occassion Maguire had his header cleared off the line. Aside from that he failed to beat the first Man all evening.

I'd put that down to a bit of nerves though. First game for the national team all you are thinking about is not having a "Scott Carson".

4.) 08 Jun 2018 10:31:46
Good on him! He has come a long way since the start of the season. He has a lot yo improve on still but as we all know the world is his oyster. I really don't care for the English national team and find international football boring but I understand how important it is for the players and always want the liverpool players to do well when called up. May his rapid rise continue!

Just to put everything into perspective, in just 1 artical on espnfc it says we are replacing salah with fekir and mane with moses Simon. With both our superstar wingers going to Madrid and Barcelona respectively. All the click bait around the net has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Yeah its exciting reading we are in for this player and that player but let's just wait until the club actually do a deal and not abuse the edd's for shooting a rumour down or explaining the truth behind a rumour.

{Ed025's Note - well said mark..

1.) 06 Jun 2018 21:06:32
Some people on here have"hair triggers"and can't help but shoot at the Ed's.

2.) 06 Jun 2018 21:26:45
Thank God I said shoot at and not shoot over😁.

3.) 06 Jun 2018 21:32:30
Yeah well they don't seem to miss Barry. They should shoot in the Olympics.

4.) 07 Jun 2018 05:11:21
i think salah won't be this prolific next season. we should sell him and buy fekir and then sell him next season when he scores 40 odd goals and keep repeating this trend untill Markovich really gets into his grove and then when he does sell him too.

Rumor has it that ed002 was at Lyon to negotiate the fekir deal taking a barber with him to give the player a stupid haircut before it is announced.

Club financial statements don't show debt owed. Or am I wrong? Ed002 has been saying for years that liverpool are taking on more and more debt. Try not to tell the edds what to stick to as they give a lot of information on many aspects of football that most of us would never hear about without this site. Its painful to read and uncalled for when they take massive chunks out of their day to read through, edit, reply and write articles for all of us for free.

Thanks ed. Have a great day mate. My Thursdays almost over, but spring is in the air, suns out, city lost and liverpool are so good right now that I'm not used to it. Lifes good👍.

{Ed001's Note - it is a beautiful day. Lyon could have won by a bigger margin as well. Again a team that goes at Citeh gets a result, so why do so many just fold against them? Lyon are nothing special, but City made them look it last night.}

Thanks ed. De Francesco did well not to react to costa's dirty spit. I can't say I would have been so calm. Sham to hear about the lad with motor neurons especially after just getting married.

{Ed001's Note - it is a sad day for the lad, seemed like a nice lad when with us and he is held in high regard.}

Salah was missing 4 out of 5 chances early last season too. Nothing to see here IMO.

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate. People have forgotten how he started the season.}

Yeah let's spend another 60 million on another CB and get rid of Gomez he is no good and won't improve by playing more and more games and gaining experience.
