I don't know Olired from Adam, but I know he comes on here, probably every day, and makes a contribution that makes this community thrive and grow. You don't have to agree with him, but he adds to discussions and he gives his point of view. And you know he does all this because he loves football and LFC, like most of us.

Ed025, I’m a product of my environment, I’m a north ender and I presume you’re a south ender? I don’t think it’s quite as partisan in the south end, I won’t repeat what I’ve heard and seen not just at goodison but in pubs and stuff! You know what I’m talking about but you would just either deny it happens or say there’s good and bad on both sides! Brilliant result the other night by the way bud, so maybe not as bitter as you think.
{Ed025's Note - yes i am a south ender waro but all my working life was in the north end, believe me both sets of fans can be horrendous and geography has nothing to do with that mate, we have given ourselves a decent chance of staying up waro but we are still only 90 minutes from being back in the mire..

I’m quite relaxed about not signing anyone else this month, it was in the summer i was proper raging, now I’m quite content and happy enough to wait until the summer to not sign anyone!
Seriously though, what is the point of signing anyone now, our season is done, can’t wait for it to finish. The only thing that’s keeping me going is that Everton may get relegated! That will be like winning the quadruple if that happens.

@Longthing, we won't qualify for anything unless we settle on a style of play that suits the talents the players in the squad have. Buying. / loaning one player won't have made any difference until the coaching staff and manager all decide on the way we want to play.

Sorry for the late reply ed0025. I’m judging gakpo on his performances in Holland the World Cup and in brief flashes in his 4 appearances for us, the people saying he’s poor are basing it on FOUR games for us solely, so the comparison you made between my opinion and there’s is a little disingenuous of you to be fair.
{Ed025's Note - in the end waro it’s all about opinions mate. Up to now I have not seen anything to suggest that he’s a good player but it’s early days yet. By the same token I can’t see why anyone would suggest he’s very good either. That’s all I’m saying..

He was terrible for Holland in the World Cup and I never once thought I would want him at Liverpool but hey he is here and fully support the lad. He is definitely raw and has a lot to learn he seems like a very safe and sensible player. Once settled and with more confidence he could be a good rotation player from the bench. Dias and Nunez are our best forward players its up in the air about who should get the third spot atm.

The reality is that we've signed a player that likes ball to feet yet we hardly have control of the ball and play vertically to our forwards.
I assume they have a clear plan for him given they claim to have been following him for some time.

Ed025 I think so many of the Dutch forwards are overrated I don’t get why we signed him as I think Carvalho could have done a job there till Diaz came back with other’s positions needing improvement first. But I have not seen enough of the lad to be giving him the stick he has been getting after a few games. It’s not the best time to sign and with are form it was never going to be easy for the lad and it is not as if we have paid top money for him in this day and age when you compare it to what Chelsea have just paid. So think we just need to give the lad time to settle In because if he is going to be a top player I don’t think we will see it till next season anyway.

ed25 - it's probably not what you're saying, but the implication when someone says "I've not seen anything to say that he is a good player" is pretty much the same as saying he is a bad player. Assessment of players always seems to be about proving their worth as the finished article, well before they are and I hate that way of looking at players and people in general really.
