Real Madrid have shifted their interest from Cavani to Suarez because they feel the Napoli man is too expensive and doesn't represent as much value for money as his compatriot {Ed002's Note -Real Madrid has another player in mind right now - there is some distance to go with their shopping.}

Random Red

1.) Another striker? {Ed002's Note - Yes. I have explained repeatedly that RM are not the only club interested in Suarez and Suarez is not the only player that interests them.}

2.) Bearing in mind what your reply was ed, can you elaborate on what you believe their strategy represents so far, in regards to suraez {Ed002's Note - They won't have a specific "strategy" in respect of Suarez. He is a player that has been offered to them, amongst other sides, and they may well be making a bid. an offer was expected last week and never materialised. They are also looking to other players. This is the same approach taken by most clubs - like Liverpool has done with the centre backs. If they make an offer I expect in the first instance it will be low with a youngster they no longer required offered up as well. There is nothing "special" about Suarez - at least not in respect of transfers.}

3.) Cheers Ed, any chance in letting us know who the other striker is they were interested in Aguero were they not some time back? As for Suarez still wouldn't mind him staying as he is a quality footballer, either way the club will move onwards. {Ed002's Note - Jovetic.}

4.) Ed are Liverpool themseleves offering suarez to clubs or his agent trying tohget him a move?

bigW {Ed002's Note - His agent and representatives.}

5.) 28 Jun 2013 23:59:30
So Ed002, Real have dropped their interest in Luis? Cheers, Scouserseb {Ed002's Note - No.}

6.) Ed's, why is it that LFC simply get rid of Suarez by offering him to Real Madrid for one of the strikers + miss. I mean surely a Suarez for Higuain + Di Maria and 10M looks tasty and realistic. Di Maria has been linked to Spurs and yet they are ONLY in Europa league. I'm sure we could negotiate his deal, as same as with Higuain. All in all, I bust think LFC must act fast. Also, just a thought, IF El Sharaawy wants out, we could bid for him using the Suarez money, could we not. Whether he considers CL into account is another thing, but you never know till you try, we got Suarez without CL didn't we and he was probably in the Top 50 Soccer Players at that time due to his phenominal scoring record at Ajax. {Ed002's Note - Liverpool has not offered Suarez to Real Madrid at all. You appear to have drifted off in to some strange fantasy land.}

In Klopp's 1st season we finished 8th with a total of 60 pts.
This season we have amassed 61 pts from 21 games.

OP, this is why I keep pinching myself as to what I am currently witnessing in real time. At the rate we are going we could just accomplish the greatest single season ever recorded in English/ European club football history. Drinking it in, lads! We are witnessing monumental greatness like one that may never be equaled for a long time esp. in England.

2.) 15 Jan 2020 11:38:03
Good post random red.

Hi Everyone

How involved are club owners in player sales? A lot of the time we hear about how so and so is tough to deal with etc. Aren't there people who are actually in charge of these things?

Random Red

1.) 07 Jun 2019 10:31:42
Probably best asking Ed2 that one mate.

{Ed002's Note - In Italy and Spain the owners are far more involved in the day to day running of the club that they are in England.}

25 Apr 2019 17:06:15
Hey eds. Given the assertion that Klopp was only really interested in Brandt and didn't particularly fancy Salah, who then suggested/ initiated the deal? And also, who else were we targeting at the time had Mo also declined our advances? I seem to remember some talk Inaki Williams, i think.

Random Red

{Ed002's Note - Julian Brandt, Thomas Lemar and Julian Draxler were the three initial choices but scouts persuaded Klopp to consider Salah.}

1.) 25 Apr 2019 20:01:23
Scouts did well there šŸ‘.

2.) 25 Apr 2019 20:38:54
Well, it seems our scouts know a thing or two!

3.) 25 Apr 2019 20:45:11
Ed02, I'm not sure but it seemed that you mentioned a while ago that Diao Keita Balde was also in the running before we signed Mo. Was he?

{Ed002's Note - These were the players.}

4.) 26 Apr 2019 00:17:28
The scouts did well there.

5.) 26 Apr 2019 18:12:38
I wonder if Klopp can get fellow countryman Sane?

14 Jan 2019 14:26:32
is the CIES Football Observatory legit?
Because according to them we have 2 of the 5 most expensive Fullbacks in world football.

How do they even cook these numbers up?

Random Red

1.) 14 Jan 2019 14:36:07
Age, contract length, ability, and form I believe. I could be wrong thou. The market value for anything is only what the buyer is willing to pay thou. My advice is don't take it to seriously thou.

2.) 14 Jan 2019 15:52:36
And @Pool77 you say that from personal experience.

10 Dec 2018 10:36:14
We should've had the foresight to include a buy-back clause when we sold Suso.

Random Red

1.) 10 Dec 2018 10:51:42
Why we messed him right about? he wouldn't get anywhere near our front 3.

2.) 10 Dec 2018 11:50:03
Could have, would have, should have. Forget about the past and just look forward and move onwards. Suso certainly has! šŸ™„.

{Ed001's Note - actually Suso has often publicly stated that he would like to come back to Liverpool.}

3.) 10 Dec 2018 12:42:03
Random red we could not include any terms in Suso contract as it was a free transfer.
we should have handled him better but his chances were very limited.
I hate losing a player on free transfer, just like we lost Emre can and might lose Moreno the same way.

4.) 10 Dec 2018 12:39:54
Would you take him back Ed001? Playing which position?

{Ed001's Note - I don't think we have a place for him in the first team to be honest.}

5.) 10 Dec 2018 13:00:44
I agree with you Ed001. I have seen him play only 2-3 times since he left LFC. At the most he is probably equal to what we have; certainly not substantially better.

{Ed001's Note - I do like him though.}

6.) 10 Dec 2018 13:02:43
Could he play at ten though?

{Ed001's Note - it depends on what time his ma says he has to be in for tea...}

7.) 10 Dec 2018 13:15:50
I'd have him back tomorrow because he's a great player, I was gutted when we let him go but that's the problem as previously stated, where would he fit in? We should've kept hold of him and gave him his chance.

8.) 10 Dec 2018 13:39:47
I like Suso. I just think we have a few we would need to move on before he got in the match day squad.

9.) 10 Dec 2018 14:04:53
Iā€™m sure Shaqiri holds the place in the squad now that he would like to occupy.

10.) 11 Dec 2018 08:11:54
If Shaqiri was to move on in the next couple of years or whenever could he not fill that role Ed001? How longs his contract can we get him back on a free? That would be great haha.

{Ed001's Note - yes he could, but I am not sure he should come back.}

I remember reading some time ago that one of the Bayern directors, when asked about Thiago, basically said, "We expected him to renew, but considering he has chosen not to, we believe he has already made arrangements elsewhere. "
Seems like he was talking about LFC.
