Blast from the past. Has liverpools interest in Konoplyanka gone now Ed? I assume it has, don't mean to throw random names at you either thank you in advance.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any Liverpool interest from Liverpool since the start of 2014 (more than three years ago) and it would be fruitless as he is moving elsewhere in the summer.}

1.) 27 Feb 2017 15:48:58
Thanks for the update Ed I was unaware he was already off elsewhere enjoy the rest of your day 👍🏻.

Eds, Real AG or anyone else that may know, what is the situation with Brad Smith. Is he a Liverpool player or not? I thought he had left but I read in another thread he is still a Liverpool player but in contract dispute. Be interested to know what the dispute is and whether it is something that can be resolved with Klopp now in charge and he may be given a chance to impress or if it is essentially too late for that and the bridges have been burnt.

{Ed001's Note - he is still registered to Liverpool. He was initially frozen out after refusing a new contract.}

1.) 11 Nov 2015 10:20:17
Thanks Ed001. Are there any other young LB at the club that could be considered for first team action? I am totally out of the loop since LFC TV stopped being free.

{Ed001's Note - from what I have been told, no, left back and centre back are the two areas most lacking in the near future. Academy wise I mean.}

2.) 11 Nov 2015 12:35:49
You surprise me Ed001. I thought Cleary, Randall and Brewitt were all highly thought if - especially Cleary.

{Ed001's Note - not close to the first team though mate, they are a couple of years away. I was talking about players being ready to step in now.}

3.) 11 Nov 2015 12:41:55
Brad Smith's is a club matter I think. Regardless of who the manager is, the decision has been made to not play him. I assume he or his agent has really pissed of the club. The same goes for Enrique.

As for left backs, Joe Maguire is the natural choice, but even when he was at U18s and making a step upto the U21s competition free, he just didn't look that particularly convincing. He has bulked up over the summer, and I haven't seen any U21s matches this season, but up to last season, there was nothing to suggest he was ready, and was looked upon as one of the weakest players on the pitch. Sorry I have been brutal here.

4.) 12 Nov 2015 01:55:26
I was under the assumption Lloyd Jones was before his loan, training with the first team and somewhat close when Rodgers was manager? And in all fairness we've had a few centre backs from our youth team play in the first team, the problem was Rodgers put Wisdom and Kelly at RB and they're now stuck there.

{Ed001's Note - your assumptions are all wrong. Lloyd Jones had been close but then a closer look said he needed first team football as he was nowhere near ready for us, hence the loan. Rodgers was not responsible for putting either Wisdom or Kelly at right back.}

I read an article regarding David Wagner being appointed Huddersfield boss and how this might work out well for Liverpool in terms of loaning players out to them etc. Is this the media putting 2+2 together and getting 5 or is there some truth to this?

19 Oct 2015 13:41:15
Reports advising that Ings has a "clean" tear of acl so could be back sooner. Anyone know about Gomez's injury and have an update?

19 Jan 2015 08:51:18
Any truth in the rumours we have been looking at Teddy Bishop? BBC have us as favourites. One for the future I guess if it is true I just worry will be loaned out and never get a chance or take the chance of others. I know we need to hedge our bets and have a broad section of young players who may or may not make the grade. I can't help but feel that there are too many in this bracket and they can't all be given a chance even if the manager was willing to. Which he doesn't seem to be.

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea about our interest sorry. I know Villa enquired but the asking price was 'ridiculous' (that's a quote from what I was told but I have no idea what amount that actually means!) so they looked elsewhere and ended up with Cleverley.}

1.) 19 Jan 2015 10:22:02
"so they looked elsewhere and ended up with Cleverley"

Has got to be one of the most depressing sentences ever!

{Ed001's Note - almost makes me feel sorry for Villa fans.}

2.) That made me laugh ed, cleverly is the definition of being called up to England just because you play for united

LFC tv free until 3rd April folks on virgin media just saw it via the menu.

1.) 21 Mar 2017 22:03:58
and sky.

2.) 22 Mar 2017 10:04:09
The U23s have a game against Norwich early April so hopefully the dates will be right for the free subscription. I'll do a full update tomorrow as the U23s played the other day without me knowing till after the game.
Lfctv is a good watch I must say so if you have it free, watch it!

Saw that young Brewster played for under 23 and scored twice. Grujic also got some valuable minutes under his belt👍🏻.

1.) 08 Mar 2017 07:53:49
I'll put a full review up today when I find time.

2.) 08 Mar 2017 08:06:41
Cheers I subscribe to MrBoywunder on YouTube by the way lots of vids of our youngsters on there channel - now that sounds dodgy thinking about it. That's another "source" of knowledge/ info outside of this site of course 👍🏻.

3.) 08 Mar 2017 10:41:17
A lot of folks shouting for new signings in the summer but I'm looking forward and hoping they get a chance to see Grujic and Ings play to be honest.

26 Feb 2017 14:05:53
Grujic to return to training following his hamstring injury hope he can get some game time before the end of the season.

25 Jan 2017 13:06:26
Mathematics is Harry's new username I take it?

1.) 25 Jan 2017 14:22:37
Lol I know the thought went through my mind earlier haha!

2.) 25 Jan 2017 14:54:42
Isn't a fundamental corner stone of mathematics logical thinking? 😄

3.) 25 Jan 2017 18:21:34
Harry can think, Ron.
But can he contemplate his own existence? 🤔

15 Jan 2017 14:52:31
Matip not in squad, not due to injury but doubts with FIFA over whether he was clear to play? This is a joke right? Should have been clear one way or another weeks ago!

1.) 15 Jan 2017 15:00:04
Matip says he's retired al why can't they accept this

2.) 15 Jan 2017 15:19:34
The club should have sorted this weeks ago. No clue what are some people paid for.

3.) 15 Jan 2017 15:48:29
He retired September 2015. Completely ridiculous he should be available and given time elapsed since he's retired this should have been sorted out by FIFA in no time.

We managed to sign Matip who wasn't too pricey at all and I guess is down to good scouting. Hopefully we can find and sign another player like this who is not on everyone else's radar.

Believe the Eds thoughts were it's better he is involved at youth level rather than the first team so hopefully it's a win win for both parties.

When is the next Sharkopod due Ed, anything on the horizon?

{Ed002's Note - There will be Sharkopods for Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United this week.}

Hmm a difficult one. Can was offered quite a few opportunities despite a lack of form recently and is now starting to look good. I'd like more opportunities to come Divocks way. The team comes first but if he improves through playing more, then surely it's a win win situation long term.

Andy you may need to attach a sarcasm and not being totally serious warning on your posts going fwd.

*50% sarcasm applies to above post
** 90% tongue in cheek
*** a tinge of underlying seriousness can be applied.

Think that Milner can only be a better right back than he is a left back being on his better foot for crossing etc. And he is our first choice left back like it or not only due to lack of options but he has done well.
We need players who can play the way Klopp wants. The system he plays relies on the defenders knowing when to storm fwd, be aware defensively and have a good footballing brain. Rules out Moreno unfortunately. Clyne is less of a liability but has his moments. Even the best full backs though I reckon will get exposed by the way we play we just have to accept it.
