Heard we're interested in Oxlade Chamberlain for next month, surely this is lazy journalism eds?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approach but Arsenal will be open to selling Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.}

1.) 29 Dec 2016 00:13:08
Thanks Ed.

2.) 29 Dec 2016 00:45:38
Can anyone tell me how that would make sense? He's a decent player, but do we really need to stockpile more attackkng midfielders? Unless of course he can also play left back 😏.

{Ed002's Note - He runs very quickly which is what Klipperty likes in a player.}

3.) 29 Dec 2016 00:01:58
I honestly can't see any reason to waste money on him. He's not better than anyone we have and Ojo is capable of filling in for Mane. Let him take his place on Man City's bench.

4.) 29 Dec 2016 00:53:41
I can't see him getting any more game time with us than he does at Arsenal, which wouldn't help his career. Doesn't make sense.

5.) 29 Dec 2016 02:10:43
I actually like him. think he's under utilized at Arsenal and provides a similar style like Mane.

6.) 29 Dec 2016 02:52:37
Dennis, Ojo is totally out of his depth at their level. Last season cameo he kept losing possession and his first touch is poor but he got hyped up anyway. Nope Ojo not had enuf YET.

7.) 29 Dec 2016 03:18:12
IMO, we need some experience up front. But I don't think OX is the correct person to do this, while Mane is away. We can have him on-loan though. "D.

8.) 29 Dec 2016 03:51:47
Ok time for £20mil + £1 bid.

9.) 29 Dec 2016 06:58:53
The media are linking us with every winger in the world because mane is about to leave for a month, just this week I've seen: draxler, Jesse Rodriguez, Ox, promes, I'm not sure any of them will be coming in and I'm not sure any of them would want to sit on the bench.

10.) 29 Dec 2016 07:17:42
OX is not an out and winger. He is more like the old Milner.

11.) 29 Dec 2016 09:44:21
Would you take him ed?

{Ed002's Note - No. And consider his injusry issues.}

12.) 29 Dec 2016 10:30:14
Exactly ed, can't believe no one else has mentioned his terrible injury record. I think he'd be a good squad player for us if it wasn't for that. We've had. Ore than enough injury prone players over the last few years!

{Ed001's Note - we should not be looking to buy squad players.}

13.) 29 Dec 2016 10:39:30
I wouldn't take him - injuries, underwhelming for Arsenal, would not be cheap and it bumps Ojo further down the pecking order. I don't know if Ojo is good enough as I never watch any youth football but I want him to be given a chance in the team to at least see if he can step up.

14.) 29 Dec 2016 10:48:48
But on the other hand he has PL experiance and can play play central or on either wing.

28 Aug 2015 16:56:41
Any more update on whether Texeira will get a loan move or stay and fight for a place, Ed?

{Ed002's Note - I have explained there is interest in him.}

09 Aug 2015 23:58:03
Eds, any truth in the rumour that Lucas has had a falling out with the club today and now wants out?

{Ed001's Note - he was dropped and is extremely unhappy about it as he had been blocked from moving in January with promises made by the manager, who has now gone back on them, again. This is not the first time for him to suffer like this at the hands of Rodgers, who just refuses to accept we need a defensive midfielder, so I can't see him staying much longer, sadly. He has been treated extremely badly by the club.}

26 Feb 2015 14:33:44
Anything on İlkay Gündoğan coming to us in the summer, Eds?

{Ed002's Note - Not going to happen, sorry.}

1.) 26 Feb 2015 22:09:03
Thanks Ed. Sorry I didn't see an earlier question on him, but I had searched for his name on here and no hits, so asked the question!

2.) 27 Feb 2015 13:33:45
Gundogans not been great since his return from injury. Real shame because in the season BVB got to the CL final he was incredible, dominated every game and was the best midfielder in the world imo.

Is he likely to leave this summer Ed002?

{Ed002's Note - I suspect he will sign a new deal.}

Happy Birthday ED001, hope you have one of the best days ever and thanks for all your input on this site.

{Ed001's Note - thank you very much Keith.}

07 Mar 2016 01:16:59
Firmino been added to the Brazil squad in place of Kaka!

1.) 07 Mar 2016 05:04:15
Kinda stupid he wasn't part of it anyways.

2.) 07 Mar 2016 13:15:40
A sponsor prolly put his foot down.

3.) 07 Mar 2016 13:24:46
he is only in because 35year old kaka is injured.

14 Feb 2016 17:25:33
Nice to see us score six today and keep a clean sheet and who cares who it was against, it's a win and 3pts! Well done Kolo on your first goal for the club too! Great to see the Sturridge dance again, first of many I hope.

1.) 14 Feb 2016 18:16:35
There are no easy games in the premier league.
Make no mistake, this was a brilliant performance.

2.) 14 Feb 2016 18:18:45
well said keith, also we scored from a corner!

3.) 14 Feb 2016 19:02:24
Oh but there are Ron.

4.) 14 Feb 2016 19:19:20
Well I didn't include Man Utd out of sympathy after yesterday but that really was an easy game for Sunderland 😜.

15 Sep 2015 23:53:00
Good podcast as per usual, think we'll all be waiting to see what Thursdays teamsheet will be! I'm starting to wonder if we need to use the Europa League as a way to somehow get that CL spot we so desperately crave, as can't see how our league form will get us to 4th place or higher, unless Sturridge comes back and stays fit and fires straight away! Did I miss any chat about Benteke's great goal or was that an oversight? Great joke of the week for once, lol!

{Ed001's Note - we did talk about it mate. I got distracted a little saying Herrera bottled the header though.}

1.) 16 Sep 2015 07:48:25
I think our ability to sustain a challenge on the top 4 positions is directly related to how long Rodgers remains: the longer he stays the more unlikely it becomes. If he is still here by Christmas then it's impossible. Europa League, the way we are playing, seems equally out of reach however, if Rodgers walks and we do get somebody in it could be a lifeline into the CL (albeit a long shot). I'm not confident of either to be honest and it's very difficult to look past the immediate problems the club have.

2.) 16 Sep 2015 08:18:48
Judging by current displays, it's the only shot at CL he's got.

3.) 16 Sep 2015 14:52:35
Agree, Sean and Marsh! I mentioned here in the summer that BR will be the X factor this season. If he continues to screw up as the perfs are now suggesting then it will be a long season. If he changes and plays to our strengths then we have a chance to do good things in a piss poor PL where bar City, no one is pulling any trees. If he walks then it`s 50-50 because if the new man or caretaker gets 5 wins in a row, you`re back in it. So we`ll see what happens but based on what we are seeing now, top 4 and CL via the EL victory is just fantasy

12 Sep 2015 21:00:33
Anybody else worried about Thursday's match, or do you think he'll play the fringe players who will actually give a damn?

1.) 12 Sep 2015 21:05:58
Who are the fringe players? Our current midfield couldn't get past an old Carrick and old German. Academy players are miles better than what we had today on the pitch.

2.) 12 Sep 2015 21:40:11

Englands first choice and world champions first choice in midfield. You are a bright boy lol.

3.) 12 Sep 2015 21:32:52
Rubbish EG, there's no way that so many players don't perform for every game, this has to be down to the manager.
Academy players are just that, they would do worst trying to play BRs tactics so give it up on that front.
Our problem is Brendan Rogers, he bought the players, picks the team, sets out the tactics, supposed to man manage, supposed to instil confidence, should be able to read a game and be tactically astute and make changes.
5 games and just the same rubbish.
3 seasons and the same poor defending
300 million and all we hope for are wonder goals.

I'm sick of Brendan Rogers as boss of LFC, just sick of him.

4.) 12 Sep 2015 21:55:39
Its not about giving a damn its about being given a clear strategy with which to play the game and having the correct personnel in the team to carry out that strategy.

What they don't need is a weeks worth of psychobabble and meaningless phrases with no clue as to what they actually should be doing.

I had high hopes after we made the necessary changes to the backroom team but i get the feeling they are just not trying for the bloke because they have realised what we all have known for a while now that he is way way out of his depth and needs to go.

I fear it will take another fan revolt for the owners to get the message becase the on field performances don't seem to register with them.

5.) 12 Sep 2015 22:02:38
England's Second choice, German u21 first choice, Brazilian International here.

6.) 12 Sep 2015 22:21:07

Milner had the captain's armband today and did nothing. Keep aside the manager for a sec, We were poor back in 2005 against Milan. You need quality in the middle to deliver so does every-time we look up at countinho to turn the things.

7.) 12 Sep 2015 23:45:11
No we don't, EG! We need a manager who knows what he's doing and knows how to adapt to game situations. Why is it that Swansea, CP and even Leicester City play better than us? because their managers know what they're doing and have players that suit the system they wants. It's not about money or quality all the time. If you have quality players but play them in a stifling, pathetic system like BR's, they will still fail so stop rambling about issues we don't have and do so on the one issue we do have.

8.) 13 Sep 2015 05:23:46

You aren't getting the point. Let me break out for you.

1. Lucas - Can - Milner - Henderson. The above are a must week in week out ( They were promised roles and games )
So you would need to play others out of their positions.

{Ed001's Note - so was Ilori, but he is now gone. Rodgers has never kept a promise in his life, he couldn't even keep his wedding vows. Milner needs to get out of the centre, he is clueless in there and the armband on his arm is a joke, he is the worst captain I can remember. His one attempt to be captain involving pointing at a guy two yards away from him looking for someone else to pick up someone he could have easily gone and dealt with himself. We are currently carrying him and we aren't good enough to do that. I can't believe people were suggesting he was better than Hendo! He is not fit to clean Hendo's boots.}

9.) 13 Sep 2015 05:53:28
Well I agreed with you through out the summer when we bought him. Posters were happy when we signed him.
BR has played him in all matches exactly what the posters wanted.
It's not about keeping / breaking promises. Milner is on a 4 year mega deal and our hands are pretty much tied to play him in the middle. I expect him to continue playing there with no output at all.
That's what happens when you ask a one dimensional non creative CM to dictate a game from the middle of the park.

{Ed001's Note - our hands are not tied, he has no contractual obligation to play in the centre. If we had a manager worthy of the name he would be moved by now.}

Not sure what the answer is in the PL, but it seems the way to get above the opposition, you can't do it with the kids, unless they are exceptional, players like Trent for instance! Aren't the younger players happy enough to go on decent loans, with a clause that says they have to play a certain amount of games, like I believe we have done? Camacho for one, he had to understand who was in front of him to play in his favoured place! Maybe we didn't go as far as we had hoped in the domestic cups or these fringe players might have played more, who knows!

Unless Derby come up, so he'd get some PL experience with them (if a loan happened again obviously) then we should keep Wilson! Some of those values are wishful thinking though, like Clyne and maybe even Grujic.

Thanks Ed, that was possibly my thoughts too, although Matip isn't far behind him, but we're keeping clean sheets again and Joe must be part of that.

{Ed001's Note - the team as a whole is playing much better and you really don't want to disrupt that.}

If you had to choose who to partner VvD Ed001, who would it be out of the three others if all fit?

{Ed001's Note - Gomez at his best is the better player. So him. He has the physical and technical edge over the other two.}

Vettel should have at least got a black and white flag (not that I'm a big fan of those) after shoving Lewis on the grass and like you said Ed, if his excuse was he didn't see him, he needs to go to Specsavers! I thought the race was gearing up to have been quite exciting towards the end, but it sort of petered out somewhat, probably due to the close racing they can't do atm!

{Ed001's Note - it turned into a boring procession sadly.}

How can a driver take an extra pit stop from 2nd and still be ahead by nearly 40 seconds of the third placed man, who is driving a Ferrari? I don't blame Mercedes for their dominance, as a few teams have done it over time, but something needs doing. Lewis DOTD for me too, but suppose lots of Max fans voted via their hearts and not their heads. Great to see McLaren staying up in the points too.

Is Gomez up to speed yet, as right now I think Matip is further on in his fitness etc?

{Ed0333's Note - I think Gomez will take a while to get going again mate.
