Eds there is talk online that saudi representative's are in England to talk to Liverpool about singing salah.
Is there anything in this do you know?

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - There will be a further approach, I don't know where theose involved are right now.}

Thanks for the update Ed, appreciated.

Ed in your opinion do you think we should accept anything over £200m? That would make perfect business sense but I worry it does not make much football sense right now. Perhaps if we could agree a record fee and have him on loan for the rest of this season that would be a perfect scenario? He will at some point start to decline after all. He has been a wonderful servant to the club, from the heart I hope we say no to any offer but my head says £200m is a lot of money for someone who only had a fee of £37m when purchased.

{Ed002's Note - They are not going to offer £200M and leave him on loan until he is worth far less than that.}

With 200m if he did go this window and it was invested back into the squad, would difficult to decline for me.
I would like to see the club use what we have until January then go for some quality signings to refresh certain areas of the squad.
We would have to pay over the odds a little of course.
But would look at getting a quality starting centre back in, a quality starting right back and someone who can work the right wing.
Maybe a good wide player that hugs the touchline, as isn't that what klopp has been trying to get salah to change to rather than the inside forward he has played for years.
Lots of ifs and maybe's but could boost the squad hugely like when we solc coutinho.

£200 million and a loan back? As much as I love that deal it makes no sense to anybody involved.

Wishful thinking on my part Ed. It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next 24 - 48 hours. Thanks for all you do Ed’s.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

Sailor Jerry that would make perfect sense for Liverpool even more if they paid his wages for us as well ?.

7.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 12:23:08
They won’t loan him back, what’s the purpose? So he can bust a gut and get injured?

8.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 12:34:23
They want him for this years world club championship, as a sign of prestige.
He'll be worth the same in a years time, since money is no object (until the oil runs out in 80 years) .
Id rather get 150m in a years time than let him leave for free in 2.

9.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 12:37:41
I saw that szoboszlai said Salah didn’t want to leave which is a bit more definitive insight than anyone normally gives behind the scenes. I’m sure if a deal is agreed he wouldn’t say no, but do you know if he (not his agent) actively wants the club to accept a bid, ed?

{Ed002's Note - You are clutching at straws. His agent would not have been trying to hammer out the package for the player if he wants to stay.}

10.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 12:56:26
Sell Salah in January for £200m plus. He will be missing for a month anyway and probably come back exhausted. We would though require big changes up front. The remaining 4 wouldn’t be good enough on their own. A front 3 of Díaz, Jota and Nunez would be like pinball.

11.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 12:58:14
That’s good practice from the agent as the bid might be so high FSG and Klopp accepts it.

12.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 13:02:57
We will not get above 100million for Salah next summer. The club will likely already know this and factored in that they would rather keep him for one more year and sell next for 60-70 mill which is a more accurate value for Salah given age and contract length at that point.

13.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 13:08:46
Are they really going to throw in 200M Ed? That is really a lot of money.

{Ed002's Note - Something like that but it will be a lower amount and add ons.}

14.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 13:41:38
Ed, for that amount would you cash in?

{Ed002's Note - It requires the player ti agree as wll and if Liverpool want to keep him they can discuss it with him or simply say no, there is no time to replace him.}

15.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 13:56:36
I’ve said it all along, it needs to be £200m - no add ons, as they are no way guaranteed.

16.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 14:06:44
We’ve already saved £115m and 2 goal concessions by not finalising a Caicedo deal. Selling for half the price next summer makes sense! ???

Snoots if they are on their way to London to try singing Salah get them to travel up to Liverpool and join reds fans on the terraces in song……”Mo Salah, Mo Salah running down the wing……. ”????.

17.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 14:12:52
This is all crazy talk. Salah will stay until next summer or at a push until January.

We’ve made it perfectly clear he’s staying and any approach will be rejected. I don’t even know why we are still talking about it.

18.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 14:22:49
Seemingly £200m+ reasons Beckers.

19.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 14:34:02
Whether it’s crazy or it’s not the club is always bigger than the man!

Salah is a Liverpool legend regardless of when he goes; Stevie G is and Hendo is (I had to get that in because both are coming in for criticism and we have to leave them alone IMO) BUT

Every single one of them are a drop in the Liverpool FC Ocean, these greats of the club come and go and will be ALL be replaced by new greats they all deserve a thanks and a respect but with LIverpool FC we look forward……. YNWA.

20.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 14:56:17
The way football is going, £200m will be nothing soon.

But if the club did decide to sell him, it cannot be now the window is closed. Absolutely no chance.

21.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 15:08:59
The money is completely irrelevant if he is not for sale. The club have made that stance so no matter what ‘offers’ (as I understand there are no official offers on the table just verbal ones) come in they should and will stick to that stance.

The Saudi’s can verbally offer what they like they’ll get the same answer every time.

22.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 15:11:25
Have to agree with Klopp about the Saudi transfer window, in all fairness eu and fa teams have set windows and set rules on transfers, with the money the Saudis have to burn its almost inevitable Salahs going to go but not right for the powerhouse league of the world to be compromised by a league where financial rules seem not to apply, Salah has conducted himself as a Gent during his time and unlike coutinho Mo leaves as a legend when his time comes. Howether 150m to 200m can you imagine the amount of 30m players we could buy. got to say it we bottled the fee for Bellingham and now he's on fire for Real so i reckon if Salah goes we will be speculated to buy some intermediate potential superstar as a replacement and look to rebuild the back 4 as the sell by on robbo vvd matip is coming fast.

23.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 15:53:39
The Saudi's make their own rules. The joke of a league will last a few years before becoming a land full of mercenaries that really don't care about building something.

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so mate..

24.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 17:39:03
Sadly with are owners I think we have to take it and probably will anyway to finish this rebuild.

25.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 16:25:46
Cheers ed. I just wondered was all based on what his team mate said about him wanting to stay. I appreciate saying and doing are two different things.

I must say, I’m fairly ambivalent about the whole thing really. As long as the money were reinvested in signings akin to the quality of VVD and Allison then I’d be placated as it’s a squad shaping sum. Then again, it’s Mo Salah. The grass is rarely greener.

Is there any particular reason why they have left it so late when we can't sign replacements/ use the money elsewhere? It seems strange. Does it not give us more power to demand a higher fee?

{Ed002's Note - No, not a conspiracy- Liverpool have their options.}

26.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 18:36:55
If the figures quoted that Liverpool bid for Caicedo are correct, then the money was there to buy a replacement for Salah regardless of how late the bids came in for him.

27.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 18:37:05
No sure why anyone is moaning about the Saudi transfer window. No one is complaining about selling players to Turkey in the same period as they are players the team is happy to let go. Different leagues have different start/ finish dates, more/ fewer teams, etc.
We can't force other continents to follow Europe because it suits us.

28.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 18:46:23
Fbart, Bellingham wanted Madrid. Ed 2 has said this repeatedly.

29.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 18:59:01
Regarding Saudi lge, I think it’s going to be around for a long time, they riding off the back of Quatar WC, people say the Arab nations are fanatics regarding football time will tell on that one.

To add re Mo, talksport implied there was a meeting in London regarding the speculation of Mo, Arab representatives, no implication of LFC involved but if not it’ll be Mo’s agent / team, if it is Mo team or agent they must be pretty confident or knowledgeable of being able to make it happen, imo.

30.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 19:12:42
Whilst I’d love Salah to stay as I think he is so under appreciated especially by rival fans who don’t rate him. I also think he could easily play in the prem for next 5 years and break Shearers record, realistically he would leave for a free in 2 years when his contract runs out. So if we get offered anywhere near the £200mill mark I think we have to take it. Could we get Paqueta and Toney in for that? Possibly sell jota too.

31.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 19:54:41
I would just point out that Chelsea paid £115,000 mill for Caicedo the makes Mo worth £400,000 million don’t you think.

32.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 18:32:46
Ed's is this actually happening? Is Salah likely to leave in the next few days?
If so, does Jurgen get to splurge the whole lot plus the Moises money, with Ward and Eddie working the data?
It sounds unbelievable but in this day and age, I can't f tell anymore.

{Ed002's Note - I don't know where it will likely end up but I have explained the options and it would not be a surprise if he went. My best get has always been for next summer with Liverpool having the opportunity for a replacement to come in.}

33.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 20:34:29
Why is £200m a magical figure? Why not tell the Saudi’s we will sell for £300m or £400m. They want Mona’s their ‘marquee’, poster boy, flagship (take your pick) signing.

They want him but we don’t have to sell. Obviously there’s a price, every body has a price but why do we appl low balling logic when we want to buy a player but seem happy to let the buying club dictate price when they want to buy our players? In the context of the money that they are throwing around £200m could be seen as low balling.

34.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 20:38:36
I’m not saying it’s Salahs replacement, but I think we already have our next “talisman” and that is Dominik Szobozlai.

I think it’s a blessing we didn’t get Bellingham as this guy is fast becoming my favourite player and future Liverpool legend.

35.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 20:45:16
It seems like if they don't get him now they might be back in January if they have a window then. I can't stand the arrogance of the press, he wants to go if the right offer comes etc, Lfc can't turn down 200m etc, all the anti LFC lot on the bandwagon make us sound like we need the money like we are skint. What part of Mo is not for sale don't the Saudis get?

36.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 21:21:36
It has sounded like his representative has been trying to hammer out this deal with a number of different clubs since the moment he arrived. When push came to shove previously his client signed a new deal with the club.

37.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 21:50:23
English clubs have flexed muscle for years. saudis are just doing what the prem teams did to their counterparts in Italy, France etc. nothing wrong with competition however unfair it is, such is life.

I put Mo on the highest pedestal. the money being circulated in business terms is ridiculous and if the Saudis really want Mo they'll pay whatever it takes. As much as I don't want it to happen I believe fsg will quote them a figure and it's firmly in the Saudis hands whether they want it enough.

38.) 05 Sep 2023
05 Sep 2023 23:25:13
Pess Dreamer he has never said that. Bellingham wanted to come but we wouldn’t pay the package. Hendo basically confirmed this today.

39.) 06 Sep 2023
06 Sep 2023 02:36:13
it could be a case of wanting Salah to request a transfer-that way they save a bit of money and can say it was Salah demanding an exit. Hope not but Liverpool are blessed in forward areas.

40.) 06 Sep 2023
06 Sep 2023 03:12:11
We would suffer for a short while, but whilst I love Salah and think he’s be a massive loss, attack is the one area of the pitch we are well placed to deal with covering for him short term. The money can be used to bring in a replacement and shore up the defence which is a pressing need.
With a heavy heart, if the offer comes in and Salah wants it, I’d let him go.

41.) 06 Sep 2023
06 Sep 2023 11:40:55
Guys, they will come back next year with a bid over 125 million next year - personally I don't think Salah would want to go.

42.) 06 Sep 2023
06 Sep 2023 11:42:46
Hendo said Fsg would not pay whatever was asked for Bellingham for reasons only they know which if you see the bid they made for Caicedo it doesn't make sense cuz Bellingham for 85m seems like a steal. Not having he wanted madrid only i believe had we gone all in for him he would have signed.

43.) 06 Sep 2023
06 Sep 2023 11:19:20
Hypothetically ed2. if Mo was to be sold and you had a say in a replacement. who would you think would be a good fit? His numbers and performance over his time with us has been exceptional. A great player for the team, an all time great. Personally I would be sad to see him go, but at the same time what better way than to walk away handing us an amazing amount of cash to reinvest.
200 mil would go a long way to improve the squad again. Lcb, rw, cdm and maybe a rb to push trent.

{Ed002's Note - As I have said before I think Marcus Edwards of Sporting Lisbon would be a very good option to replace him but I still suspect Klopp will want to look to another.}

44.) 06 Sep 2023
06 Sep 2023 13:36:11
Ed do you have an inkling of who the player is that Klopp will look to?

{Ed002's Note - I understand he has the hots for Leroy Sane.}

45.) 06 Sep 2023
06 Sep 2023 13:55:35
Interesting. Seems a tad old for our normal range we look to (turns 28 in Jan) but a left footed right sided attacker with just a year left on his contract come next summer. Perhaps an older option to allow a younger player to come through.

Thanks for the reply.

46.) 07 Sep 2023
07 Sep 2023 05:32:14
I like Marcus Edwards too and would think he'd be an understated and under-valued player that could be ready for a bounce under Klopp.

47.) 07 Sep 2023
07 Sep 2023 09:28:45
Any idea on what value Edwards would command Ed? Never seen him olay but watched a few videos. Does look a good tricky attacking player. As for the sane signing. I think he would do well with us. Always seemed a little moody or like he had a chip on his shoulder. Maybe I'm wrong.

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to get in to the money but €60M.}
