Anyone know the other clubs in fekir?

Jay dub red

{Ed002's Note - Five other clubs have shown an interest and there has been a discussion with two of them. I would discount three of the sides and there is nothing new to what has been previously explained.}

1.) 27 May 2018 19:29:36
Cheers ed is it the case Liverpool have progressed further then the others in negotiations etc or is it all still level at those matters? And do u know if fekir himself has a preference? Thanks again 02 👍🏼.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any negotiations between Liverpool and his club. The claim from a journalist 10 days or so ago saying it was a "done deal" led to Lyon looking to see if there had been an illegal approach. Regardless, I expect that Liverpool will look to speaking formally to Lyon soon.}

2.) 27 May 2018 19:30:54
Cheers Ed.

3.) 27 May 2018 20:00:18
It will be us and Arsenal I would expect.

4.) 27 May 2018 20:14:48
Thanks 02 appreciate it 👍🏼.

5.) 27 May 2018 20:28:39
Cheers ed 2.

6.) 27 May 2018 20:33:36
Has there been an illegal approach ed? Hope they've learnt their lesson!

{Ed002's Note - They don't know - a journalist announced a deal had been reached with Liverpool and Lyon knew nothing of such an agreement. Hence the statement from them saying that Liverpool has not contacted them.}

7.) 27 May 2018 20:42:05
Hope that they make that formal approach and sign the guy. He and Keita will be cracking signings.

8.) 27 May 2018 22:18:58
Why would it not surprise me if LFC have been at it again though. Cheers Ed002.

9.) 27 May 2018 22:43:08
Thanks for the info Ed2. I hope you've had a good day/ evening.

10.) 28 May 2018 16:29:33
I've never really been interested in the like/ dislike buttons, and I'm not bothered what post of mine get's disliked/ liked it's all irrelevant BUT when I'm thanking an Ed who goes out of his way to help us out, how is that bad? 5 odd individuals out there that's for sure, at least tell me what's wrong with me thanking an Ed? maybe instead you should join in thanking Ed2 for his constant info, it's not hard to appreciate/ respect the good things in life, in fact, it's very easy, well it should be.

I can't thank the Eds enough, why? because of their knowledge/ info, info they don't have to give us but choose to for free, I don't know many people in life who'd do such a kind act these fellas are doing.

Thank you Ed1, Ed2, Ed25, Ed333 and all other eds.

Let the dislikes come in ;) .

27 May 2018 12:58:17
Looks like fekir has put them rumours to bed 😕.

Jay dub red

1.) 27 May 2018 13:09:18
Early days. It sounds more like his agent has told him off for being too positive in one direction.

2.) 27 May 2018 13:12:16
It’s a long summer.

3.) 27 May 2018 13:39:34
But he is hardly going to come out and say he has agreed to a move.

4.) 28 May 2018 09:18:04
No player would disrespect their current club and just be like "yeah Im going to Liverpool". I think a formal approach will happen soon.

29 Aug 2017 17:37:03
Eds can u give a brief lesson how a transfer happens! Like do a club just notify the other. Club and say we will give u 5m for him etc how does it go?

Jay dub red

{Ed002's Note - The process should be along the lines of: Clubs will typically informally ask an agent (a) if the player is going to be available, and (b) would the player consider a move to the club. There may be some broad discussion on the sort of deal that would be offered but no more than that. If the answer is yes, it is then necessary for the club to approach the player's club to ask if they would be willing to sell and if they would grant permission to speak to a player's agent formally about a transfer and possibly even the player about actually making a move. This will typically involve either broadly (through an offer) or actually agreeing a fee and responsibility for any significant costs (agents fees etc.). Once this has happened the club will be able to speak to the player's agent and perhaps the player himself to look at the package that will be involved. Many players are looked at and discussed at a high-level with agents and clubs; a subset of those have an offer placed; a subset of those involve discussions with the player's club; a subset of those involve discussions over terms, and; a subset of those go ahead.

Agents will often try and get more specific details of wages and other financials before they should - but most clubs are happy to follow this process. Players will often talk to other players about moves but, whilst wrong, is tolerated as it would be impossible to manage.}

1.) 29 Aug 2017 21:19:46
Haha so the complete opposite of how we do things then Ed02.

2.) 29 Aug 2017 21:34:57
Was nothing like I thought it would go lol cheers Ed 👍🏼.

3.) 29 Aug 2017 22:16:16
Very interesting ed02. I was thinking, swaps are quite rare, is that because the agent doesn't get as much money as the deal is one of little money and swap of players?

I have no idea how it all works dude.

4.) 30 Aug 2017 02:11:20
Ed002. I know that's how transfers generally work and you've explained it brilliantly. the thing is (And this is not trying to defend anyone's actions or condem or have a go even ) . That's basically tapping up. hear me out.
A player is having a great season is happy and enjoying his football . The transfer window is approaching and let's say real Madrid approach said players agent to ask is he available to which the agent will reply I don't know but I'll find out and the club ask is he interested in the move. To which the agent will say I'll ask him and what player in the right mind would want to turn real down. so them actions are actually turning a players head. which is illegal . the first point of call is meant to be to the club's direct to see about availability then given or denied permission to contact said player. but in today's world where image is everything clubs can't afford to be getting knocked back by players hence why the contact the agent to see if he's up for moving .

When all's said and done that's part of a tapping up process in the sense turning a players head . don't get me wrong there is different levels of turning heads and tapping up but it's still wrong.

{Ed002's Note - No, that is simply business as usual.}

5.) 29 Aug 2017 21:36:55
Ed2. There's an interesting article on BBC sport regarding tapping up. Was wondering your take on it. And no, I'm not trying to justify, deflect, etc etc. Just found it interesting given this summers antics.

{Ed002's Note - I will have a read when I get the time.}

Ken aguero and mo salad seen on a plane Liverpool bound easy jet my "source" tells me ba ;)

Jay dub red

1.) I'm guessing you mean Salah? And Aguero? Flying Easy Jet? IMHO all three are equally unlikely!

2.) They were on that Ryan Air flight the other day that was trashed and all the fags and booze nicked.

3.) I see now why your called the plank!
Sake it was a joke with sarcasam!

4.) 22 Jan 2014 20:47:13
Was it them that thrashed the Ryanair flight lol just what we need!

5.) Thanks for your sparkling insight Jay. I'm just so used to dimwits on here I take things at face value. Plank was awarded to me by a Brummie poster on here who told me I was as thick as plank because he thought I was thick for saying a transfer target of Liverpool would stay in a hotel. He told me transfers don't go through until the target buys or rents a house or flat. Pot calling kettle I thought and am proud of the name.

6.) Main course with your side salad sir?

How about some Mataballs?

How much would that Costa?

(sorry)

7.) 22 Jan 2014 21:59:08
That wil go well with salad stoneage ;)

8.) 22 Jan 2014 22:01:44
No worries plank just some friendly banter theirs too many posters going nuts over this salah lad that their turning nasty on the Ed's so I thought I'd throw salad and his mate ken in their lol!
YNWA mate!

22 Jan 2014 10:42:01
Is Ed02 about? With these so called rumours about mata allowed leave for over £30m but not to another epl side due to the sales of Torres mirrilas* yossi from lfc to Chelsea is their a bit of mutual respect their between the 2 clubs that would allow such a sale of mata I know it's not happening I just wondered if it could be possible?

Jay dub red

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool do not have the money to buy Mata Jay - so it is moot.}

1.) If we can't afford him, how come we could afford Willian / Mkhitarian, Costa et al, in the summer? What's happened to finance since?

{Ed002's Note - Sure, could sell Suarez to raise the money.}

2.) Ed, I am not denying your claim that Liverpool do not have money to buy Mata . But if it is really true that Liverpool FC are the 9th richest club in the world then why can't we afford him? If spurs can spend such money then why can't Liverpool? FSG made it clear that they can compete with any club in Europe, our squad is very thin, our bench always looks weak and if they mean business why can't they dig deep into their pocket to support the manager to get quality players who can push us to top 4? We always go for players who are available on loans and 1-8million bracket which to me is mid table teams mentality or judgement in transfer market though not always. FSG must really do something and forget about King Kenny's spending era because if we miss the top 4 this year it will dump our spirit.

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you mean by "ninth richest". Spurs sold Bale and spent the money. Liverpool could sell Suarez and spend some money. Liverpool spend vastly more on transfers than the likes of Spurs.}

3.) Why not spend most of this summer's transfer budget and bring in the likes of Mata, Salah and Fernando Reges now? to secure champions league because otherwise we won't be attracting these type of players if we don't qualify then.

4.) UnicornRiver- we spent ~24M on two CBs after Chelsea signed Willian, BVB signed Mkhitaryan, and Costa decided to stay at Atletico, did we not?

5.) To be fair to the OP, our net spend is currently around 20M. In the same blll park as Villa and Swansea and 15M less than Cardiff.

6.) Not sure how you come up with 20M. My recollection is closer to 70M net since BR came in.

7.) That's 20M since the window opened in summer 2013.

8.) We may have to sell Suarez if we don't make CL

9.) Our net spend on transfers since the 2010/11 season totals £90 mills. This does not include agents fee's and taxes which would probably put another £30 mills on that total.
Don't any one say that we have not been forth coming with money for transfers.
LFC will buy the right player for the right price and will not be held to ransom.
I for one fully support the way we are conducting our business and if that means we miss out on a few players due to greed then so be it.
I would sooner have a player here to play for the badge than the amount of £000's we can put in there bank account.

I see the news ed02 told us a few years ago about the break away league is breaking sly sports now about arsenal not wanting to be involved!

Jay dub red

1.) 02 Nov 2018 23:20:58
I find that hard to believe, if it does happen they will certainly want to be involved, the tv money will inevevitably go with it.

2.) 03 Nov 2018 00:25:39
From what I can remember Ed saying, Liverpool weren’t involved in talks at the time, since then I doubt arsenal have been either but a club the size of arsenal staying within England would be a great thing for the rest of the league if they wanted to stay. Sadly at the end of the day there are many top quality teams still left in Europe for the breakaway league which would definitely bring the other big teams with them, whether that includes Liverpool now or not.

3.) 03 Nov 2018 00:55:15
If it happens it will be the end of football for me. I grew up on the terraces at Anfield playing your West Broms and Sheffield Uniteds this is the death of football as we know it. It’s barely recognisable anyway but this is the final straw.
It will break my heart but I’ll have to walk away.

4.) 03 Nov 2018 07:46:24
Many feel like than Bobby.

5.) 03 Nov 2018 08:29:55
With bobby on that.

6.) 03 Nov 2018 10:10:15
Totally with you on that Bobby footy as we knew it would be dead.

7.) 03 Nov 2018 10:33:27
I have to agree, it would ruin the game for me, whether we're involved or not.

8.) 03 Nov 2018 10:53:45
Question is, do you see this happening? I certainly don't. If it does then I just don't know, I can't imagine it.

{Ed002's Note - The clubs have every intention of it happening.}

9.) 03 Nov 2018 12:24:00
Spot on, Bobby. I would not want anything to do with league football anymore if this sham ever happened. This so called Super League has been in the works for over 20 years (I first heard of it in 1997) and even tho Ed02 is correct that many clubs have every intention of seeing it happen, I'll believe it when I see it, really. Why? Cos that is what many were saying back then and it ain't happened yet.

10.) 03 Nov 2018 12:59:06
Ugh. Let’s wait and see if this definitely happens and then wait for the format before throwing toys out of the pram in the name of morality. At the end of the day, its a sport within an entertainment industry (or vice versa), not a political regime.
It won’t kill football because believe it or not, those breakaway clubs will still need footballers to be produced to a sufficient standard.

There will always be professional football, just in a different guise. I think it’s pretty arrogant to think that removing 5 or 6 clubs from English football will kill the passion of the supporters of the rest of the teams. Personally I think it could even make for a better a more even English competition. Look at the support for college football in the USA, for example, even in the face of a limited set number of AFC and NFC teams getting the vast majority of exposure and air time.

If it destroys it too much, people could always form Liverpool City FC so they can still rub shoulders with little Tommy and old widow McBurney on the terraces.

11.) 03 Nov 2018 14:06:26
"People are very open-minded about new things. As long as they are exactly like the old ones". 😃.

12.) 03 Nov 2018 16:06:36
I know Ed has said many times that its almost inevitable, but i just can’t overlook the fact that football is nothing without fans. I find it highly unlikely the majority of fans would approve of something like this. I understand the need to shake football up a bit but at what cost? It just seems to me that the clubs are talking about it amongst themselves without asking the fans, the fans that generate their income and give football more meaning than 22 men kicking a pigs bladder around a field, and i can’t see this sitting well with the majority of fans.

{Ed001's Note - but they don't care because they think the TV companies will love it.}

17 Aug 2018 09:24:21
So klavans off best of luck to him delighted he got that goal against Burnley cheers rag!

Jay dub red

12 Aug 2018 16:05:58
Ed01 where u impressed with Naby today and the lads?

Jay dub red

{Ed001's Note - very much so, they looked like a team used to playing together. Keita was excellent, Milner and Mane were the best players on the pitch and Salah's movement seems as good as last season.}

1.) 12 Aug 2018 16:15:45
Let's not forget Sturridge bagging with his first touch 😎.

2.) 12 Aug 2018 16:15:57
Naby Keita was really good. If there's any player that might just take Firmino's spot as my favourite player, its him.

3.) 12 Aug 2018 16:57:33
There are so many things to like about the game, the team. Yeah!

4.) 12 Aug 2018 18:17:51
Looking forward to your match review Ed.

{Ed001's Note - I will do it tomorrow once I get a chance to rewatch the game.}

5.) 12 Aug 2018 18:32:20
Never seen you this impressed with Milner ed! Does he seem to have learnt?

{Ed001's Note - looks to have moved on a long way since first playing central mid for us.}

6.) 12 Aug 2018 19:57:46
Keita makes them all look better. Well Gini might be the exception.

When Milner played with Hendo, Gini, Can etc no one had the class to change a game, so many many times we couldn't break teams down.

Keita didn't even play that well today (for him) but believe me he will be the best of the best by the end of the season.

{Ed025's Note - i thought keita was very good to be honest mark..

7.) 12 Aug 2018 20:22:13
You ain't seen nothing yet Ed. That was his average.

{Ed025's Note - i have seen quite a bit of him actually mark, excellent player who only has one flaw and thats his temperament mate..

8.) 12 Aug 2018 21:00:32
mark08, why the sly dig at Wijnaldum? I was st the game and he was excellent.

9.) 12 Aug 2018 20:49:11
We need a bit of bite mate. We have been too nice in recent years. He just hates losing - not such a bad thing. He was a bit naughty last year I admit, but in this side I think he will settle down and be our game changer.

Good luck to you for the season - top man.

{Ed025's Note - i never said there was anything wrong with that mark, in fact its exactly what you needed mate and could well be the final piece in the jigsaw..

10.) 12 Aug 2018 21:06:55
He isn't good enough and he is very very lucky to be in that team. As the season goes on he won't play. He wasn't excellent - Milner was very good and so was Mane if you think Gini was Excellent you are far too easily pleased. He is not the quality required to challenge for the title. He wouldn't get on the City bench.

11.) 12 Aug 2018 21:34:55
What a very silly comment gini was good today as was all the midfield
support your team mate is it really that hard?

12.) 12 Aug 2018 21:46:22
If Alan Ball were playing today, he'd be Naby Keita.

{Ed025's Note - im sure naby would be delighted with that comparison juicer..

13.) 12 Aug 2018 21:47:51
he was ok today but last season he was terrible until the last 2 months. I don't change my opinions game by game. As for Gini I don't trust him he is not good enough.

14.) 12 Aug 2018 21:49:53
mark08, listen to what Klopp had to say about Milner and Wijnaldum after today’s match “They we’re both excellent”. But you know better than the Liverpool manager, hey? If he wasn’t good enough, Klopp wouldn’t continue to pick him. Why not take Johncrow Junior’s advice and support ALL our players instead of denigrating those who you don’t rate.

15.) 12 Aug 2018 22:14:58
Klopp won't pick him when other players are fit. Klopp put him up for sale meaning he doesn't trust him long term either. (no club would pay the asking price so that should tell you how other clubs rate him) . I have no problem with him playing a few games but over a season in the league he won't start more than 10 games and rightly so.

People are free to give their opinions on here. I think Keita will be great and Gini is not good enough - I don't see the issue,

16.) 12 Aug 2018 22:27:43
Markp08, I absolutely agree that people are free to have their opinion on this site - the freedom to do so without being trolled is one of the key attractions of the site for me. My issue is that you refuse to acknowledge an excellent performance by a Liverpool player because you simply do not rate the player. I repeat, I was at the game, not watching it on tv, and my opinion is in line with Klopp’s - Wijnaldum was excellent today alongside Milner in midfield.

17.) 12 Aug 2018 22:32:10
It’s always been the same. I had a season ticket during the seventies and I was surrounded by people shouting stuff like “get him off, he’s rubbish”, “not fit to wear the shirt” etc. This usually came from guys who were so rotund they couldn’t even see their own feet. And all while we were winning the league and collecting cups for fun. There will always be moaners, but mostly they just demonstrate how little they know about the game. Klopp wouldn’t play these guys if they weren’t good enough. Simples.

18.) 12 Aug 2018 23:00:43
I never said he was poor today he had a decent enough game but it doesn't change the fact that I don't think he will play much in the league this year.

If people are not allowed their opinion then this site would just have the same 50 posters just agreeing with each other. I will not forget how bad he was for 80% of last season.

{Ed0333's Note - if the Ox was fit I’d bet good money Gini would have been sold. I agree with Mark, Gini is not of the required standard for us. He is anonymous in way too many games and would not get into City’s, United’s, Chelsea’s or Spurs Midfield. If I remeber correctly he was only bought because players turned us down in that position, notably Per Zielenski

19.) 12 Aug 2018 23:24:37
Evening Ed. That is my only fear this year that we might miss the OX, he was looking a really good player and very effective.

{Ed0333's Note - evening Mark. Yes I can’t believe I’m saying this because I was his most fervent critic but the Ox is a monumental blow for us. Love the guy, was loving the football he was playing for us and I truly hopes he goes on to become our captain the kid is the personification off class.

20.) 12 Aug 2018 23:29:02
I think having a decent defensive unit will help Wijnaldum.

That and greater competition for places will help him progress. He played really well today, they all did 👍.

{Ed0333's Note - it’s the same defence as last season Ron? I think Gini is marmite he has his fans and detractors. I’m not a fan myself and I don’t think he serves much of a purpose. I hope he proves me wrong.

Happy bday tris (ed01) hope you’d a good day pal 🤙🏼.

{Ed001's Note - cheers Jay it was a good day, even my man flu took a day off.}

19 Jul 2018 22:39:22
Ed01 let me here it pal what’s your expectations for the season ahead?
And can I just say I’d nvr of heard of Alisson only for u I hope your chuffed we got him!

Jay dub red

{Ed001's Note - got to pick up a trophy now.}

1.) 19 Jul 2018 23:25:20
Win the league.

I'm not even about the signings as MUCH as they streghen us.

I'm about the anger that our boys will have. K think it will push them to the edge.

Experience of losing when you deserve to win is as much beneficial as winning.

Lovren, Henderson, Salah. they won't want that again. Think they will have even better season's. They won't want the feelings they have had this season again.

Then we add in the new boys. The old boys. The new youth. Alison.

We are in for another sensational ride my friends.

2.) 20 Jul 2018 01:08:39
This time we are winning the champions league and the premier league!
