I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.

Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.

Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.

Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.

As I've always said, qualifying to next season's Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.

Mo Salah

Clearly problems behind the scenes.

Fully with Mo here. Feels like the only professional we have at the club right now.

Well said, Mo... true champion. He's speaking like a disgruntled fan! Hopefully, FSG will take note and listen to a club legend. We all want heavy metal footy... it's in our DNA. Make the change now.

He's basically calling Slot out. Good. At least somebody at the club is finally showing some balls.

Go ed salah, at least someone has a bit of balls about them.

Just read Salah's Instagram post. Clearly shooting shots at slot, most fans will agree with what he is saying.

16 May 2026 16:35:41
All of the fans should be agreeing with what he is saying. Because he's commenting on what he's seeing on the field; something that all of us see too.

There are apologists, but they're not winners. Simple as.

I would probably go for Alonso out of the available manager but why is it that everyone seems so strong on him? Just playing devil's advocate here: he had 1 good season in Germany, you could say he had some luck along the way with players coming through at the right time. So he's still quite inexperienced considering he's had 1 good job, 1 not so good. There seems to be such a strong shout for him but if someone suggested someone like Gerrard people would laugh.

He did a great job in Scotland and not so well with Villa; again you could say he was unlucky with injuries to key players at Villa. Now I'm not saying we should be going for Gerrard but on what they have achieved it makes me wonder why everyone is so on for Alonso. If you ask me, the only reason Slot is still here is because there is no outstanding candidate. I think if there was, he would have been gone a very long time ago.

16 May 2026 16:00:21
Pretty sure Alonso's win percentage in Spain was 70%, which is pretty good.

Gerrard also went out to Saudi.

I'll be honest, I've only seen Alonso's sides play twice and that was 2 league CL games at Anfield, and wasn't impressed with either team but CL league phase is hardly taken that seriously at the moment.

One thing I know is I'm fully done with Slot.

He had two and a half good seasons in Germany. He took over a club near the bottom of the table, got them into Europe, only lost one game all season, and won the league for a team that hadn't won the league in a long time (possibly ever, can't remember), and then finished near the top of the league again while juggling Champions League football.

He also had a great win record for Madrid, just lost the dressing room.

He's definitely proven himself, don't know why his achievements are downplayed when Iraola (who has also done really well, but with a different set of parameters) is so lauded.

Either would be a massive improvement, in my opinion, but there's risks with every appointment.

He had 2 fantastic seasons in Germany, not sure where you got 1 from. Chalking it up to luck "with players coming through" when he took a team from relegation zone to a League and Cup double over the giants that are Bayen is a wild opinion.

He was doing a great job in Madrid. 4 points off the leaders with a 73% win rate and only 2 losses in the league. He can't be to blame for the toxic running of a club full of divas where the president actually supports subordinate behaviour.

It was a disgrace how he was treated.

Gerrard did well in a 2 team league, the most 2 team league there's ever been; it's 40 years since a team outside of the Old Firm won a title, and that was Alex Ferguson's Aberdeen. A league that's nowhere near the level of Bundesliga mind you.

The only reason Slot's still here is because the club decided to wait until the end of season review to make a final decision, and the season clearly isn't over.

I'm not down playing Alonso has done a good job because that's who I want as well, but I do think it would be a risk as well. I also don't think it's a crazy opinion, but I do think he was in the right place at the right time. Not that different from Monaco winning the French league under Jardim. Monaco had a lot of good players come through at that time, and they won a one horse league not too dissimilar to Alonso when Bayern probably weren't quite at it.

My point is more how poor the managers are atm, that there's not much between what one has achieved and is the most sought after and the other is laughed at.

Question for Ed1 about Nagelsman (I know he mainly very unpopular on these pages which is fair enough).

Am I right in thinking that his early days at both Hoffenheim and RBL he played football more akin to Klopp and then over the years has moved more towards Guardiola style?

He showed such early promise as a coach but seems to have really lost his way.

Value your input as always

{Ed001's Note - I think he always played more like Pep personally.}

16 May 2026 16:32:35
Was never unpopular for me. I think he'll prove to be an outstanding club manager. I'd take him, but he's never been in our radar from what I've read.

Hi eds1.
Just wondering what you think we should do going forward next season with the attacking area ie Ekitike injuryed until Jan-April and Isak going to be constantly injured. Gakpo is 100% not the answer to fill in either.

{Ed001's Note - such a shame Mo is going as he could have filled in. As it is we have a mess to clean up made by the same three ars...people that are supposed to be sorting it out. First thing to do is gef rid of them all.}

16 May 2026 16:05:45
I'd take Lewandowski for a season, great at headers and crosses and can hold the ball well.

Agree3

16 May 2026 16:33:45
We need a right winger. I think Isak will be fit and raring next season.

You mean like Semenyo, Ron?

If we go into next season with slot, to see if he can turn it around, is there a saviour like Klopp available in October. I think not, I think things are going to get really bad next season if we stick with slot, I think he'll be gone by Christmas and we could end up with a Hodgson type 'steady the ship' appointment and this time I think Kenny is to old to rescue us.

I won't be watching if he's in charge. I can't take any more of it. I turned off the match last night at 60 mins, it's the first time I've ever done that, and I've been watching since the 74 cup final.

16 May 2026 15:06:44
Ed001, if Hughes and Edwards were to leave, who would you have as sporting director?

{Ed001's Note - Rangnick, I would love Campos but that is highly unlikely, or I think I would look at bringing back Graham.}

16 May 2026 15:36:18
Agree Ed001 but just can't get my head around and correct me if I am wrong, but Slot, Edwards, Hughes contracts all run out end of next season right? (with Edwards role being the multi club set up, which has since been binned) how in hell are these 3 seen as best placed and in anyway having influence on the long term direction of the club, I can't make any logical sense of it all.

Agree0

{Ed001's Note - I do not understand it, but then I was opposed to Edwards and Hughes in the first place.}

16 May 2026 15:38:01
Ooh Rangnick

Good shout that Ed1. can't remember how long back he was at united but he identified and called out so much that was wrong. whichb urned out to be on the money if memory serves me right.

What about thay guy who was at Brighton, Newcastle, United and the F.A? . isn't he supposed to be the dogs nuts?

Agree0

{Ed001's Note - Ashworth? Not for me. He rates Southgate.}

16 May 2026 15:02:44
Spirit of Shankly start protest over a £3 hike in price, but they should start one about the club keeping Slot in charge.
Because after the football we have been put through for the past 18 months, the ticket price should be halved.

And unless the fans in the ground stand up and say something, we get the rat 🐀 for the start of next season we will be wasting another season and fallen further behind, when with how poor the league is we should be stretching away from the pack.

16 May 2026 15:35:48
He won't be here next season, Grino. Absolutely no chance, mate. I'm not worried about it at all, but if he is still here next season, I'll stick to watching other leagues. I won't watch anymore of this s**** that he has us playing, it gets on my nerves too much.

With the money we spent and the players we got, under the right management we should've walked it this season. A lot is to blame for the lot.

16 May 2026 15:38:03
G75, I agree, but with one game left, and whilst basically needing 3 points from the last 4 games to get CL qualification, the fact we go into that last game, which should've only been a send off to Salah and Robbo, who truly deserve it, plus a chance to appreciate Hendo's contribution that we never got to, the fact at the final whistle we could've missed out on CL qualification and rightly need to display as fans our displeasure, what a tragedy it's come to this, but I do agree with you.

Agree1

16 May 2026 15:49:25
Feel exactly the same, Salah. Can't and won't watch any more until Lost is sacked or resigns.

Agree3

16 May 2026 14:39:12
If Alonso isn't coming, it doesn't mean the head coach is staying. As others have said, and I wondered as well, is if Enrique has given any intention of coming, we would wait. Or Hughes has decided on Iraola, who for me would be a great choice.

Hoeness also is a great choice. Absolutely disgraceful if they didn't back him in the window, or bring in Heitinga to then stick with him now.

16 May 2026 15:17:52
Van Bronckhaust should be kept on though because he's been brilliant since he came in. What a signing he was.
