Hello eds 001 is Keylor Navas the only option? Or is Jack Butland still on the radar as you guys mentioned earlier. Just in case KN deal doesn't happen

Cheers in advance.

{Ed001's Note - this is not my information, I am not the right person to ask.}

1.) 21 Feb 2018 22:00:30
I'm sure there's more on the radar just incase, we're probably scouting god knows how many, let's just wait until the summer and see what happens.

2.) 21 Feb 2018 21:53:50
What's your information telling you these days then ed? Any names to throw into the ring?

{Ed001's Note - no, nothing on keepers.}

3.) 21 Feb 2018 23:04:00
Ed002, a couple of questions if I may:
1 are the rumours true that LFC have recently sought the advice of a goalkeeping consultant to advise on recruitment?
2 If they have, is it true that this well-informed goalkeeping expert has recommended that Navas is a better keeper than Becker?

I'm really just trying to pick your brains and speculate on how the decision making process has worked to produce the result that Navas is the preferred choice?

The critical role of GK has been a weak and problem position for the club since Reina lost his form after Rafa left, but it doesn't seem as if the club are handling it with the same effectiveness as they are the cb and forward positions.

{Ed002's Note - 1. Yes. 2. No. 3. Klopp wants him, I have explained this over and over.}

4.) 21 Feb 2018 23:13:17
Any of the other eds care to give any information on the Jack Butland question to eds 001 please

Thanks again!

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea who told you that.}

5.) 22 Feb 2018 06:06:51
I asked eds 001 about the possibility of bringing in Jack Butland if the Keylor Navas situation doesn't happen.

If there was any interest still in him, and or any other name on the list to be considered.

Rumours keep coming out with JB.

Thanks eds again.

{Ed002's Note - I don’t understand why i have to keep answering the same question about goalkeepers over and over. Ask whichever editor told you about Butland.}

6.) 22 Feb 2018 06:21:37
Thanks Ed002, your patience and insight are appreciated.

7.) 22 Feb 2018 07:05:41
Well I was only asking because you said he might will be an option for us.

I wanted to know if that was still the case.

Sorry if I bothered you, I don't ask a lot of questions often.

{Ed002's Note - Where did I say that?}

8.) 22 Feb 2018 07:41:05
The goalkeeper situation is something I personally like to keep my eye on, being a keeper myself. I really hope that we push for Alisson in the summer, from what I've seen and heard he looks like much more of the real deal. He will probably cost a lot of money, but I think we should still go through with it no matter the high price, because I think he will be the pick of the bunch!

9.) 22 Feb 2018 07:16:09
Ed002's Note - Alisson is looking very good but has attracted the attention of others - but a perhaps come maybe. Oblak is not likely to be a viable option. Butland might be an option for the summer. But there are plenty of other goalkeepers out there if Klopp decides a change is necessary. }

Not trying anything against you but I think Butland might be an interesting choice for LFC I like him and would like that competition for Karius.

10.) 22 Feb 2018 08:13:31
Personally I think it's fat too early to be thinking about who we'll get, the only guaranteed one we're interested in seems to be Navas, for now atleast, I see us been linked with quite a few before summer so going to wait until then before over thinking it.

11.) 22 Feb 2018 09:27:16
I really hope we don’t go for Navas. He’s thieving a living at Madrid and if you thought Mignolet was dodgy, oh you’ve seen anything until you’ve seen Navas in action.

12.) 22 Feb 2018 10:08:10
Can we give it a rest on players coming in. It's February, any leads are just enquires and will change closer to the time. I know it's rumor site but not a question the same answer for two months site.

13.) 22 Feb 2018 10:14:04
No one is as dodgy as Mignolet, i on the other hand hope we stay well clear of the vastly overrated and probably the most injury prone GK out there in Jack Butland, i swear the club works with Manchester Utd and Everton scouts trying to identify our Keepers. Haha.

14.) 22 Feb 2018 12:23:53
Honestly Nostradamus2.0, the mistakes Mignolet has been slaughtered on he makes ten times worse. For his faults, I’ve never seen Mignolet tackled in possession in the 18 yard box or beaten with the tamest of passes from 45-50 yards because of poor positioning. Add to that the fact he’s poor on crosses and can’t catch then it is possible to state that Mignolet is in fact a better keeper.

15.) 22 Feb 2018 14:27:43
The interest in Navas makes me wonder if Karius is expected to keep the shirt of he keeps playing well and Navas could be an experienced number 2.

16.) 22 Feb 2018 14:39:16
We need to change gk coach first.

17.) 22 Feb 2018 17:48:00
Spoonlord, Madrid are looking for upwards of £20-25m for Navas. You don’t spend that on a keeper as a bench warming back up. I have terrifying visions of us signing him and him making some match costing howlers as he does now. He isn't the kind of keeper who wins you matches, he’s the opposite.

18.) 23 Feb 2018 07:50:26
Considering Keylor Navas is 31, surely he doesn't fit the clubs current transfer policy of purchasing young talent with the potential for a reasonable sell on value? Klavan aside (due to his low cost), I just don't see LFC paying £25m for a player in their thirties but I could be proven wrong.

19.) 23 Feb 2018 12:32:35
Young talent like VVD? What sell in value will he have. That policy is a myth. 31 is still relatively young for a keeper . Usually their prime.

04 Dec 2017 20:38:53
Hello to all the eds! ✌️😁 Nice job as always. Question for the 12000 time maybe eds01, VVD a possibility in Jan? Or can we look elsewhere?

Where do you see the club heading with the new injuries that came out at Cb.

{Ed002's Note - He may we’ll be an option but the club has looked elsewhere.}

1.) 04 Dec 2017 21:19:30
Soz to ask but who exactly have we looked elsewhere at please eds.

{Ed002's Note - Try the Sharkopod.}

2.) 04 Dec 2017 22:12:49
Ed02 a friend who works for Man City says the information they are getting is that a deal with Southampton has been agreed to buy VVD in Jan.

Take it is not something you have heard?

Thanks

Jon.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City are buying a CB in January and I am aware of a list of 6 or 7 being considered including VVD. I am not aware of any agreement having been reached at this time.}

3.) 05 Dec 2017 06:48:58
god i hope mancity land VVD. i know he is our target for a while but i really don't see how he will at all improve that defense, he is himself prone to moments of stupidity.

4.) 05 Dec 2017 07:01:00
Think we will go for De Vrij. And the another CB in the summer that may not be VVD (hope City get him considering they have lots of money to waste) . KOulibaly would be ideal but lots of competition for him.

5.) 05 Dec 2017 11:10:18
i think it is weird we didn't go for someone like Manolas when it was clear we didn't het our cb. he is imo a much better defender than vvd, and would prob be available for less money aswell.

{Ed002's Note - LFC made a low bid for another centre back but had no interest in Manolas. This was all dealt with at the time.}

6.) 06 Dec 2017 17:52:11
Out of interest Ed002 was the low Bid because didn't rate the player or didn't rate the need fir CB?

{Ed002's Note - well if clubs don’t rate players they don’t make bids. It was no more than wasting people’s time.}

7.) 10 Dec 2017 20:16:17
Wasnt it koulibily? Should've made sure we got him.

07 Nov 2017 01:55:36
Hello eds! Especially to my pal😁 001's So, important question. Yay or Nay on VVD for January? At least try✌️😉 cheers mate!

{Ed001's Note - Klopp still wants him but they are looking for alternatives.}

07 Jun 2017 20:14:43
Hello eds, gutted obviously about van dijk. however I do feel we need at least a quality cb even if he's not worth 70 mil do you think we have a chance of getting Koulibaly or De vrij way cheaper and I believe as same or more level than vvd

Hope we get salah at least.

Cheers! Great job as always.

{Ed025's Note - i think you need one as well lyver, koulibaly is class but not for sale apparently mate..

1.) 07 Jun 2017 20:47:45
De Vrij and Salah for the price of VVD: Good business I'd say, then move for Lacazette and a decent left back and we're there.

Let's hope we finally learn from this basic error. Whatever took place, we've made the headlines for all the wrong reasons and just at the wrong time!

2.) 07 Jun 2017 20:42:09
Ed025, I'm pretty sure Ed001 reckons that Koulibaly is a bit of a donkey? Plus isn't the bloke in charge of Napoli a complete loon?

{Ed025's Note - myself and ED001 have different opinions on a lot of things FMS and it does not make either of us right or wrong mate they are just opinions, and yes napoli are notoriously hard to deal with..

3.) 07 Jun 2017 21:03:04
Salah deal is off to 100%.

4.) 07 Jun 2017 21:04:38
Have you seen de vrij injury record 😂

People like this do my head in.

5.) 07 Jun 2017 21:07:32
mydogskip

Good post. It's not all doom and gloom.
I'd like to see Naby Keita in there too. Although that will be difficult.

6.) 07 Jun 2017 21:11:15
Koulibaly was poor last season. In the best of times, the lad can't pass a ball to save his life. The media and pundits panned Sakho for looking clumsy; wait till these experts see Koulibaly play.

7.) 07 Jun 2017 21:11:43
Hopefully we stump up the money for salah and mendy now and address the 2 problem areas with best possible players.

8.) 07 Jun 2017 22:00:40
Mendy, a good lw, pereria, keita.

9.) 07 Jun 2017 22:00:40
Mendy, a good lw, pereria, keita.

10.) 08 Jun 2017 01:17:26
I wager we won't get any top player this window.

22 Mar 2017 02:45:51
Hello Ed's! A quick question seen us linked with timo werner from RB, is it true? Do you rate him far most importantly. And would you like rugani at Liverpool?

{Ed002's Note - RBL's Timo Werner was of interest to Spurs before he left Stuttgart but that interest seems to have gone. Scouts from Chelsea and Liverpool attended a game in December where Werner scored against Hertha Berlin and in January Liverpool and Dortmund scouts watched him score against Eintracht Frankfurt. Given he only joined RBL last summer and his season is going well with Leipzig more than likely being in the Champions League next season, RBL will not be looking to sell and I doubt he will be looking for a move.

Juventus are not keen to sell Rugani but have had a discussion with three sides including Villareal, Milan and an English side (not Liverpool - who have no interest in him).}

Hello eds, great info from macca and you guys! certainly a little bit of disappointment for VVD not coming.

But do you think we could go back for him in the next 2 windows since he seems to be the main man for klopp, as well for Lemar?

Thanks in advance! Cheers.

{Ed002's Note - Possibly.}

1.) 01 Sep 2017 21:52:31
Great! Hope is soon enough. what do you think fellow red's?

2.) 01 Sep 2017 21:59:06
Coutinho still has 4 years after this season. We wouldn't sell for 150 mil, I doubt we will next year. He didn't even make a compromise. And give us this year on a promise for next year. he's been an utter tit. he's ours for the remainder of his deal for me.

Vvd next year. Sorted.

3.) 01 Sep 2017 22:14:01
I think coutinho goes next summer. But, if we can get Lemar in January he's off that same window.

Depends on the relationship with Mr. Klopp.

4.) 01 Sep 2017 22:31:53
Couts goes as soon as we can get a replacement in.

5.) 02 Sep 2017 00:17:38
There's a new TV rights bidding war coming up. So expect prices to keep rising,

6.) 02 Sep 2017 01:25:53
Coutinho will go the moment we sign Lemar or another alternative. I just hope FSG stump up the cash next time for Lemar. The kid's going to be world class in a couple of years and more than good enough to fill Coutinho's shoes.

08 Jun 2017 01:36:33
Liverpool are just going to end up paying a world transfer fee for VVD because the player will hand in a transfer request.

But the embarrassing episode will never be forgotten.

30 Mar 2017 23:26:01
Who is the bloody replacement if Coutinho were to leave! I can't find anything. If Meyer is 2nd choice!

Please eds, fellow reds!

{Ed007's Note - Kris Commons is available on a free this summer.}

1.) 31 Mar 2017 10:04:45
Heard he was off back to forest :)

2.) 31 Mar 2017 03:07:52
Really? Are you joking?

{Ed007's Note - No, I know it's hard to believe but he really is available on a free!}

3.) 31 Mar 2017 13:00:34
The suggestion is that Julian Brandt is his "replacement".

4.) 31 Mar 2017 14:34:56
Listen to the Sharkopod.

Julian Brandt or Rafa Silva are the targets for left wing, regardless of whether Coutinho stays or goes.

03 Mar 2017 15:50:32
I am going to get hammered for this but Icardi for me.

Sorry Ed's just an opinion. I know you think is trouble but the fact is he can score! and maybe, just maybe he can change

Fellow reds? Thoughts.

1.) 03 Mar 2017 17:26:17
He is trouble. He's an absolute arse. So was souness. So was suarez. So was mcmahon. So was tommy smith. Gerrard and carragher were no angels. So were a lot of our best players to be honest.

Other examples you can point to would be roy keane, john terry, diego costa, sergio ramos, gennaro gattuso, i could name hundreds and hundreds, not players who were well liked by anybody apart from their own fans, but had a mean streak about them, a winning mentality.

Now i'll name some players who look as though they couldn't hurt a fly, look as though they live on a diet of brown bread and water and generally look like rabbits caught in headlights on the pitch- mignolet, lovren, moreno, klavan, clyne, lallana, milner, firmino, coutinho etc etc. In all honesty nearly all of our players behave in the exact same way on and off the pitch, it feels like they're a team of robots sometimes. Im not even saying this to pick on them because i think most people have caught onto this and, in my opinion, is the biggest immediate problem with our team right now. Nobody even looks remotely angry when we lose for the millionth time in a season.

Icardi might well be a t*t but, in all honesty, im starting to think a few bad eggs would be better than the sickly sweet bunch we have at the moment.

2.) 03 Mar 2017 17:37:40
Couldn't agree more! Cheers 🍻.

3.) 03 Mar 2017 18:31:46
Football is more corporate these days and image is more important. The owners won't want players who are going to cause trouble.

4.) 03 Mar 2017 19:26:49
Absolutely ron but its sapping away at my love at the game and making me lose faith that we'll ever have a team we can be truly proud of, as well as having a fun atmospheric experience at the match.

5.) 03 Mar 2017 19:46:16
I suggest you go read and educate yourself about Icardi 9the player tho talented) and the man (rotten attitude) then we'll discuss.

6.) 03 Mar 2017 19:22:56
Absolutely on with you. I am regular follower of inter and Napoli and He is a captain material. A thug characater like Costa. He is a 20 plus goal scrorer. Give him a Klopp hug and He would be perfect. Mane wasn't a saint at Southampton nor was Wijnaldum.

7.) 04 Mar 2017 00:23:32
Arrogance and anger on the pitch is a key ingrediant in about 90% of all the superstars the games ever produced.

Just off the pitch its a problem.

People always bring up the greats when comparing these newer maverick players and its just stupid.

The greats on the pitch are the fittest ones on the pitch, the fastest, never miss trainint, want to get better, train to get better and do get better.

Someone like balotelli because he's a tit gets compares to ibra because people think he's a tit. Big difference. Zlatan ill take my hat off to him. wow. Just great everything about him ozzes what your all hoping icardi could bring. Its just not that simple.

Mourinho does nothing apart from pick zlatan.

Granted we need some angry players in this team absolutely but not people who are playing football as there second choice behind there lifestyle.

8.) 04 Mar 2017 08:06:31
Being nasty on the pitch is one thing. Being an utterly despicable human being is another. He's been fined and forced to remove a chapter from his autobiography because of what he said about his own club. Would you want that negativity for us? He stole a teammates wife, great for team harmony.
Why not get Terry signed up too, if being a class one prick seems to be part of the recruitment process now.
Icardi is more trouble than he's worth.

02 Jul 2016 22:21:57
Hi eds, thanks for keeping things real! I don't know who you are but congrats and respect! 😉

Quick question, lovren for captain? Read it someplace on the web. if him then who for vicecaptain. Really like hendo thought

Cheers.

{Ed001's Note - I am not aware of any plan to change the captaincy. Are you sure it was not VC?}

1.) 03 Jul 2016 06:25:23
There would be a number of players in contention ahead of Lovren for both captain (if there is a change) and VC. Namely Lucas, Milner (sadly), Lallana maybe.

2.) 03 Jul 2016 07:16:54
Indian buzzer none of them would be in front of Lovern.

3.) 03 Jul 2016 07:44:03
Lucas would be ahead of Lovren.

4.) 03 Jul 2016 08:38:15
Lallana?

I can't think of anyone behind him in the queue except perhaps Balotelli 😄.

5.) 03 Jul 2016 08:55:41
Lallana was Southampton captain. Lovren was not. Irrespective of what u think of the player, he shows passion and drive unlike most of the players in the squad.

6.) 03 Jul 2016 09:45:40
Skrtel shows passion and drive yet is an aweful player. Do you want him to be captain too, Indian?

7.) 03 Jul 2016 10:11:10
Personally I'd keep Hendo but there's only 2 candidates Lovern and can. Before this drug ban maybe sakho.

8.) 03 Jul 2016 11:01:06
lucas in front of lovren? guy who will play 10 games (if he even stays) . i heard it is happening too as buvac and klopp see lovren as a main defender and definate starter and phisically best prepared player and proffesional. he is also loved by players.

9.) 03 Jul 2016 12:00:08
Surely one thing you expect with captain is some kind of certainty about playing, I appreciate not necessarily every game if club captain role but still can't see how Lucas would be captain when he struggles to get regular games.

10.) 03 Jul 2016 12:42:59
Hendo will remain captain. End of story.
As far as VC goes, i still see Lucas as the go to man (Milner's not a leader imo) for Klopp. He will not play much but will get game time when Hendo's not around so he would get the captaincy in Hendo's absence anyways.
I like Lovren but the guy has just had a good 6 months with us after a horrendous start. Why pile any sort of pressure on him now? Let him see out this season and if he does well, then give him the VC.

11.) 03 Jul 2016 18:00:31
Lucas is going out in the summer. So you could remove his name from the list.
