Hi Ed02 if your back from your travels? Hope you had a tickety boo time.
Is there any news on our interest of Firmino?
I've used the search function and nothing from you on this recently.
Cheers

Phooey

{Ed002's Note - Nope.}

1.) 20 Jun 2015 22:07:43
I keep thinking that if he is so locked on to join Man U then why all this chatter about Liverpool's interest? Is it his agent talking up a move - if so then are things not quite so set with his move to united?

The game is in doubt for Wednesday.
Fulham are concerned about the tube strikes.
A statement to be made tomorrow at 3pm to say if the game goes ahead.

Phooey

1.) BBC has announced that the tube strike has been postponed. Won't happen tomorrow, so the game goes on.

Huw Jenkins has said Swansea are not in for Sterling.

Phooey

1.) . and Colin Pascoe just said they laughed when they heard the rumours that Sterling would leave. He's not going anywhere - we can put that one to bed.

Who was everyone's MOTM?
I'm split between
Can and Lallana, more so Lallana in the 1st half, his pressing was immense. Can was nice and tidy all game.

We are on are way! JFT 96 YNWA
Your thoughts:

Phooey

1.) 05 May 2016 22:42:10
Can, Lovren, Firmino. all very good tonight.

2.) 05 May 2016 22:45:05
Milner all day long.

3.) 05 May 2016 22:45:34
Wat? No firmino?

4.) 05 May 2016 22:54:16
Lovren or Can.

5.) 05 May 2016 23:04:30
Close one, but I'm going for Can, he was immense tonight and in his first match back too!

6.) 05 May 2016 23:09:08
Great performance, thought Fermino, Lovren, Milner and Can stood out.
Also thought Clyne had one of his best games for us and Lallana was excellent too. the difference in our movement up front when lallana and formino play is incredible.

7.) 05 May 2016 23:20:46
Lovren can Milner and firmino were all great.

8.) 05 May 2016 23:29:46
Toure or can.

9.) 05 May 2016 23:32:43
Milner was outstanding today but to give a MOTM is very difficult.

10.) 05 May 2016 23:15:52
Lallana for me, together with Toure and Louvren. They were all immense tonight. If Moreno had a brain he'd be great but as it is we were lucky with the penalty appeal. A very good performance all round.

11.) 05 May 2016 23:35:33
Firmino, think he made the little difference we needed going forward! Kolo in second place, followed by Can and Lovren.

12.) 05 May 2016 23:35:50
Can and Firminho.

13.) 05 May 2016 23:39:38
Can had is best game to date for us inthough, but llalana probably did as well. Milner was good.

14.) 05 May 2016 23:54:10
Can was my MoM.

15.) 06 May 2016 00:08:23
Isn't it brilliant that we can't pick between Can, Milner, Firmino, Kolo, Lovren or Lallana. Great performance accross the pitch :)

16.) 06 May 2016 00:21:04
Firmino for me; he set up all three goals.

17.) 06 May 2016 01:25:17
Firmino, hands down. The guy is a big game player and he showed it today.

18.) 06 May 2016 02:20:20
Reading this thread and LOVE the fact that we can't pick a MOM because everyone was that good! On to the final!

19.) 06 May 2016 00:31:56
There is a decent spread of players nominated there - shows it was a good team performance.

20.) 06 May 2016 00:53:21
Can then Lovren, superb all round team display.

21.) 06 May 2016 00:54:11
Mignolet for me he did not let in a goal. Only joking i thought it's was real team effort tonight. Motm everyone and the fans . Klopp staff. Plas the dinner lady/ man.

22.) 06 May 2016 01:02:40
Has to be firminio created all the 3 goals and won the ball back on lot of occasions. Full of running and had a great shot on goal too.

23.) 06 May 2016 06:02:58
also produced a breath taking piece of skill that totally bamboozled soldado, not seen skill like that since suarez was at the club.

Ian Ayre standing down as CEO End of next season.
Anyone have any info on this?
I know that Edd2 said that the owners may look to sell at this time, has this got anything to do with Ayre stepping down?

Phooey

1.) 14 Mar 2016 19:28:06
Yes Phooey, this is the reason why owners want out. They wanted Ian Ayre to stay but they are now leaving due to his departure :D.

2.) 14 Mar 2016 19:41:24
Ticket price fiasco?

Comments like "be careful what you wish for".
Not appropriate for someone in his position, leaving before he's pushed IMO.

3.) 14 Mar 2016 19:48:03
To be fair, if the club really wanted him out it seems pretty unlikely they'd let him stay for the next 15 months.

4.) 14 Mar 2016 19:50:32
The shady world of negotiated privacy clauses.

5.) 14 Mar 2016 19:52:37
Yeah Ron, could have something to do with the ticket issue. That would of been embarrassing for the club, but then again you would of thought the ticket idea would of been run by the board, s not entirely Ayres fault.
Unless he is the scapegoat?

To all reds that are interested. There is a nice article titled Bob Paisley, This is your life. On the Echo website.
Some great pictures and words from great players and managers about Sir Bob.
If you remember his era or not, it is worth a look, brought back some great memories for me.

Phooey

1.) 17 Feb 2016 03:40:37
3 European cups in 9 years! as far i'm concerned pep and jose combined don't get anywhere near the brilliance of the man. thank you sir bob for everything you did for lfc . how fortunate we went from shankly to paisley. that's why the other lot are struggling they have gone from fergie to moyes to van gaal.

{Ed001's Note - without a doubt Paisley was the best ever.}

Well done Migs 😊.

Phooey

1.) 26 Jan 2016 22:41:05
Yea fairplay.

At the end of the day it was a pretty shocking performance for a semi-final but the goal shouldn't have stood anyway so it was a fair result imo.

Just hope we get the bluenoses in the final now.

It seems as though we have the old Lucas back.
I hope he keeps Ya Ya in his pocket tomorrow.
Come on you Red Men.

Phooey

1.) 20 Nov 2015 19:27:01
Of course there not good to be regular starters at clubs so high up in the leagues, there to young and inconsistent.

I dint understand why there isn't a gradual loan system.

17-league 2 (not relegation fighters but mid table teams) will teach them the dark side of football, where you can be out of work and wages ag anytime. No luxury training fields. Proper reffing, proper tackles, crap pitches.

18-league 1

19/20 championship

20/21 - see there level and depending either championship or premiership.

21/22 - access for sale or introduction to the first team.

We shouldn't ever loan to teams fighting relegation or with managers who don't implore what our current manager does.

A good team for wisdom this year would of been Burnley. Dyche I a hard working coach, a good team. Hr would of got plenty of game time.

I also dint understand why we don't do free loans where we pay the wages. I get that uf a club has nothing invested in the player then they night not okay them but if we found a great place for a player for example Tex at Brighton, there budget night not allow for him but hw would get games and from now until January it could be invaluable.

Just my thoughts.

Ed.
Could we possibly by-pass Turan and go for Cavani ourselves?

Phooey

{Ed002's Note - Not a chance.}

Do you mean their interest in counthino, and a trade deal for Koke Edds? {Ed002's Note - Right, but read the whole thing - it seems very speculative.}

Leicester also have European games to contend with for the first time, that could take a bit off them.
