Hey Ed002

ESPN mentioned we are interested in the Juventus youngster Yildiz. Any truth in it?

Thank you.

TjRed

{Ed002's Note - one PL club who asked after him were told not available - but JS has perhaps recommended him.}

{Ed002's Note - One interested PL side spoke to Juventus and were told they have in interest in selling. I am not aware of interest from Liverpool although JS may well have recommended him.}

Hi Ed's,

Couldn't find anything recent in the search function. Are Liverpool open to selling (or trying to sell) Oxlade-Chamberlain? Rumored that west ham are interested today.

Thank you,

TjRed.

TjRed

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any plans to sell him.}

1.) 26 Jul 2021 15:36:52
i think you can probably rule that out, we are very short on HG players as it is.

he is someone who can play in a number of positions and has finally got back to fitness.

2.) 26 Jul 2021 15:59:05
Feel for himself he does need to playing regularly to see if he can get back to his best.

But I doubt he will get a move unless he pushes for one. Even then will LFC be prepared to bring in someone to meet the HG qoutas.

3.) 26 Jul 2021 16:39:17
I know he’s HG, but for me he’d be one of the ones I’d look to move on. Too many injuries and too inconsistent.

4.) 26 Jul 2021 16:41:20
They're playing around with him at false 9, it's been mentioned in a few interviews with Pep and Jurgen and he's played there a couple of times.
I'm actually all for it although he's probably not the best finisher, he can certainly do a job.

5.) 26 Jul 2021 17:46:40
He is a better finisher than most in the squad.

6.) 26 Jul 2021 18:18:48
Part of deal to bring Bowen?

7.) 26 Jul 2021 18:35:23
I agree with Mark, Ox is a very decent finisher, he’s just been very unlucky that every time he’s looked to be getting in he’s suffered a bad injury. Turning him into a false nine could be a good idea, he is physically quite strong, he can link up well, he can turn and run with the ball and he’s got a hell of a strike on him from distance.

Media rumours about that we have interest in the 20 year old Turkish midfielder, Yusuf Yazici?

TjRed

1.) 04 Oct 2017 23:02:33
never heard of him but after a quick google search, apparently utd and atletico madrid want him as well - any good?

2.) 04 Oct 2017 23:28:53
Another attacking midfielder, just what we need.

Hi Eds. Great win yesterday. (I searched for Maia. ) Press is linking us with a Brazilian named Thiago Maia. Anything in it? Or would he be priced out of a move anyways?

TjRed

{Ed002's Note - Santos' Thiago Maia is of interest to PSG, Monaco, Zenit and Napoli in addition to Chelsea, Fiorentina and Manchester United who all have sustained interest and spoke with his previous agent. He is one of three players at the Olympics that Chelsea were interested in and a bid is still expected after seemingly successful discussions were held with his new representative - but Chelsea will not look to pay the outrageous asking price. PSG has spoken to Santos and after being rebuffed may return with an offer and Napoli have made it clear that they too are interested in making an offer, but the interest of Juventus, Monaco and Arsenal has waned - as the interest of Manchester United may have done. It is unlikely that any move will happen before the summer or potentially January 2018 unless an over the odds offer is made. Liverpool had a scout present at a Santos game in November (as did Zenit, Benfica and Kashima Antlers according to Santos) and that may be the cause of the report regarding Liverpool interest - but I really don't know why they had someone at the game. If they are looking to Maia it would be a significant spend on a teenager who plays as a defensive midfield player so it may take a change in shape of the side to fit him in - given Lucas can't get a game.}

1.) 20 Dec 2016 22:12:11
Could a creative DM signing move Henderson alongside Lallana?

{Ed002's Note - Sure, Klopp could change the way the team is organised in order to accommodate a teenager.}

2.) 21 Dec 2016 09:10:57
Curious Eds, do you rate him? Who does he remind you of as a player? Were there any other players worth scouting at that game?

Thanks and Happy Holidays Eds!

{Ed002's Note - I don't "rate" players but he is a player that plenty of clubs have shown an interest in. Scouts go to games all of the time - that is there job.}

I have to admit. I like these Endo type signings that come out of nowhere. I know nothing about the player, but something about him being my age and finally getting his "self proclaimed dream move" is a good feeling. You guys were ready to send caicedo to the Saudi league after news broke he wasn't interested in us. Let's be excited about a player who jumped at the thought of getting to wear the shirt.

Perhaps it is the gambler in me or the side of me that likes a bargain.

Is he a big name? No. But neither was our excellent LB. Bring on next game!

TjRed

1.) 17 Aug 2023 16:10:04
I think we will have another signing atleast. and it will be like this one. out of no where. actually brightons chairman told we worked on MC for many days. they just kept it silent.

2.) 17 Aug 2023 19:34:34
Livebird031, we worked on the Caicedo deal for weeks, apparently.

14 Sep 2022 00:17:41
I think my favorite part of that game was salah making a lung busting run to cover the Ajax break right after the half, only for us to counter on the other end and salah end up in the other box as the ball was going out.

Did anyone else notice that?

He hasn't been at his best but you get nothing but 100% commitment from him no matter what.

Get behind the lads!

TjRed

1.) 14 Sep 2022 01:38:32
Yea was good to see that from Mo.

2.) 14 Sep 2022 06:30:28
Think he did the same vs everton, always gives everything does Salah.

3.) 14 Sep 2022 10:09:46
OP, that was it for me as well. I don't care if he doesn't score, he is doing well in other areas just as important and that tackle on Kudus was as good as scoring a goal, IMO. Hats off to Mo. All round great game by him.

16 Aug 2022 11:28:12
Hey ed001,

A distraction from the doom and gloom on this page right now haha

Purely hypothetical. With Chelsea open to selling pulisic, would you take him? He's injury prone but there's a real player there. Think he could be salah 2.0. I'm an American so I'm biased.

Hope you're well.

TjRed

{Ed001's Note - on his day he is brilliant, but he clearly has injury problems, which is a shame as he works like Mane rather than Salah type of player. His pressing is top class when fit. I love him but no, I wouldn't take him because of the injuries.}

1.) 16 Aug 2022 11:53:17
I agree with you but I think at the right price he is worth a punt. When fit, the kid is special. Though I hope Chelsea are relegated, I can’t help but root for him.

2.) 16 Aug 2022 12:00:24
We’ve to many injury prone players in tue squad! I wouldn’t care if he’s messi like we can’t deal with more flakes! We need engines!

3.) 16 Aug 2022 12:01:13
If people talk about transfers they get moaned at. Then if they are negative about a performance we break it up with transfer talk ?.

4.) 16 Aug 2022 12:14:27
Come on. Haven't we had enough already? Since Sturridge, we're seeing a stream of players who have some (or a lot of) injury history, and who continue the same after joining us. There's always a reason why a really good player is available on the cheap side, and it's not for charitable reasons. I'd rather always pay a premium provided the player can be counted on a regular basis.

5.) 16 Aug 2022 12:24:08
Pretty sure our medical team are busy enough without needing to add to their workload.

6.) 16 Aug 2022 12:29:18
Jk23 mate too much influence from SM ??.

7.) 16 Aug 2022 12:43:53
Edd001 is there no way to help that? Diet (truly believe in blood type diets) specific training etc?

{Ed001's Note - I have no idea, as I don't know what is the root cause of his problems. I would assume Chelsea would have looked into diets at the very least. Training maybe could help, or it could simply be that he has physical issues that cannot be managed.}

8.) 16 Aug 2022 13:43:46
Blood type diets seem to improve general health regardless of an individuals blood type. I. e., they are all well designed for general health.
I imagine most premier league sides would provide the players a lot of advice on what they should and shouldn't be consuming.

9.) 16 Aug 2022 14:11:51
Not to mention the fact they likely have their own chefs and nutritionists.

10.) 16 Aug 2022 14:29:09
Making that kind of money I couldn’t imagine not having a personal chef haha.

11.) 16 Aug 2022 15:13:05
Injuries is part and parcel of all sports be it where there’s billions of pounds at stake at the top end or at the lowest grass roots level.

Soon as we get to a certain age regardless of what we do people are sustainable to all kinds of injuries with the majority of them being bad luck.

If you think of a professional sports person (politically correct) they spend hours and hours every day for years of their lives doing the exact same movements unscathed and then all of a sudden that exact same movement caused an injury out of nowhere.

Obviously impact injuries are a totally different kettle of fish but again even some of those could be extreme circumstances, just look at Henrik Larson and Cisse for example.

12.) 16 Aug 2022 16:26:35
Isn't that age 30 JK? That's the general consensus on here anyway!

13.) 16 Aug 2022 18:00:49
I’m having a wry smile at the “we need engines” quote. We had one, Wini, and some couldn’t wait to get rid of him. He was always ‘couldn’t do this’ ‘didn’t do that’ yet he helped win us the league. And did we ever replace him? Not yet I don’t think, but there we are; we will get better.

14.) 16 Aug 2022 19:26:38
As good as he can be the last thing we need is another player that is injury prone. I was never Gini’s biggest fan but at least you knew he would always be available. The only players in our first team that don’t seem to be injury prone are Alisson, Virgil, Trent, Robbo and Salah. That could be extended to Elliot and Diaz but still too early to say objectively.

18 Jun 2022 00:26:02
Apparently Ronaldo wants to leave. I think for the right price he could fill Divock's shoes. Worth a punt?

TjRed

{Ed0666's Note - I feel like this post is gonna be popular and not in a good way either

1.) 18 Jun 2022 08:13:43
What is the right price?
Maybe Ronaldo has one unfulfilled ambition and that is to sit on the bench at Liverpool and fill the shoes of our six or seventh choice forward and will be willing to take a big pay cut.

2.) 18 Jun 2022 12:12:46
He’s going to need to bring that 6 figure wage down to 5 figures, for starters to sit on our bench.

3.) 18 Jun 2022 00:55:11
@Ed0666: Take cover, incoming!

{Ed0666's Note - baton down the hatchets mate

15 Aug 2021 13:54:32
Hey ed001 (and viewers) - haven't seen much talk about Tsimikas. What do you all think? Effort was there. He got tired at the end which is okay. Made some mistakes. Think he showed some promise if he can get rid of the rustiness. Was a good baptism by fire! Norwich away and full of belief -not the hardest night we will face, but not the easiest either. Overall think there is a good player there.

TjRed

{Ed001's Note - needs to play more before judging him.}

1.) 15 Aug 2021 14:04:52
Decent going forward, dwindled on the ball a few times. But to be fair he has played little football. He is definitely a good back up for Robbo.

2.) 15 Aug 2021 14:15:17
Started bright but struggled. He shows promise though. I'm excited to see more of him.

3.) 15 Aug 2021 14:16:15
Seems a bit slower than Robbo but has a right foot, unlike Robbo. Made a few daft errors towards the end but clearly not up to the intensity of the PL yet. Wasn't bad and yes, he does need more games.

4.) 15 Aug 2021 14:21:51
Think will do fantastic with VVD back now who was all over him with Milner after he's mistake 😂

We are lucky to have so many leaders in our team. Think a lot of credit goes to Klopp.

Milner didn't waste any second was quick on Tsimikas face when he gave away ball cheaply in our box and from their VVD took full control and managed Tsimikas remaining 30 minutes in the game.

I just hope this team goes on to win few more EPL and CL coz it would be travesty if they don't win with that amount of quality and leadership.

5.) 15 Aug 2021 14:52:05
Good enough to be Robbo's backup. Effective going forward, can be shaky in defense. But can, and hope he will, improve over the next 2-3 games that he'll be playing.

6.) 15 Aug 2021 15:25:02
It is a big bonus for the squad to have a decent lb to give Robbo breaks during the season. I like the lad from the small amount I have seen from him.

7.) 15 Aug 2021 15:31:26
I thought going forward, he looked really good, he'll certainly get loads of assists, in defence he looks very worrying. He really needs to sort out that aspect of his game.

8.) 15 Aug 2021 15:41:18
I wouldn’t want him in vs Chelsea. But lesser teams I think he can be useful. Not a bad debut 6/ 10 can only get better because the effort and confidence is definitely there.

9.) 15 Aug 2021 15:50:48
Ed is correct. Tsimikas needs more games in his belt in order to make a elwell informed judgment on him.

10.) 15 Aug 2021 17:54:52
I think he did alright. Needs time, but as a back up he did what he was supposed to, was a good outlet on the left, made a couple of mistakes, but he’s barely played any football for a year, so it’s to be expected, but overall a solid 6/ 10 performance.

11.) 15 Aug 2021 23:03:09
I honestly think that Kostas will be fine lad's.

12.) 16 Aug 2021 00:21:58
Defensively suspect and got caught too high at times, it was noticeable that all of Norwich’s joy came from his side of the pitch. Attacking wise he was a good outlet but defensively he looked a long way off of Robertson. Jury I still out and he certainly needs more games before being properly judged.

Adams would be such a good signing. Kid is a natural born leader with a great head on his shoulders. Any interest ed002? Papers linking him with Chelsea or arsenal, with an offer from villa.

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Hey Ed002

Out of curiosity, does his club have any leg to stand on with regards to their irritation at the agent speaking to the clubs? Your previous notes made me think agents do this regularly don’t they?

Obviously they could prohibit direct conversation with the player - I was just curious how all this works.

Thanks in advance!

TjRed

{Ed002's Note - They don't like agents offering players around without the permission of the club. Generally all of the decent agents will abide by this}

Perhaps I shouldn’t have said moron - but I find it very short sighted to be writing this team off so soon. I’m also tired of seeing “we need x player from this team - why are they strengthening and we aren’t? ” in pure MotD fever (I’ve seen some wanting to be more like Arsenal on here of all teams) .

I’ve also seen some calling klopp an idiot, insane, you name it, calling out his lack of success (lol) . Saying FSG haven’t backed us again after we’ve spent a fortune in the market. For those, I will continue to use the word moron.

We have an excellent team, and though it is not as simple as it seems, we just have to rediscover our flow and play better. This team certainly doesn’t pull themselves out of a funk without support.

One last thing: What Allison said is fine - and for the record, he’s the best keeper on the planet. It’s not even close.

Hi ed001, I tend to agree with you on this new system. It definitely doesn’t seem a good option when teams are attacking us or set up to counter.

However, in instances where teams are parking the bus, do you think the modified FB role is beneficial?

TjRed

{Ed001's Note - not really, as teams parking the bus will do that to use the counter.

I mean there’s so much hype around bajcetic with some on here that they should be glad we are doing f a short term signing like this. I don’t know anything about the player but I’ll give him a chance just the same as the rest of em.

Not an Adams fan ed001? I think he’s a good Good player, is exactly the position we are missing, available at a good price, great work rate/ ethic and I don’t think his injury record is what people make it out to be. That being said, rumors of why Chelsea pulled out are that his medical had something pop up, but the timing of the Caicedo and lavia situation were curious with this one. I think this would be another “3rd choice signing” that had a good value.

Fully admit my bias as an American, but I’ve liked watching him play.

TjRed

{Ed001's Note - he has longstanding hamstring issues and can't pass. He is a midtable player and not good enough. I would rather see Trent playing as a DM. Oh and his attitude stunk the place out at Leeds after the World Cup finished and he literally went on holiday to Italy when he got injured rather than being there to support his teammates in a relegation battle. I would avoid him at all costs.}

I would like to see us sign Adams from Leeds but I am reading Chelsea are backing out because of his medical. He’s not a player with a horrible injury history but I read he’s expected out maybe another 3 months instead of a few more weeks. And ed002 has said no interest. But he’s a proper DM. A leader. despite the accolades the US team gets right now, most of them going to pulisic and balogun, Adams was the heart of the team.

He’s 20 years old…I can remember the same “sell him” talk being said about Henderson when he joined.

Harvey has a seemingly great work ethic, is a seemingly great kid, and gives 110% every time he’s on the pitch. It’s far too early to give up on him now.
