Media rumours about that we have interest in the 20 year old Turkish midfielder, Yusuf Yazici?

1.) 04 Oct 2017 23:02:33
never heard of him but after a quick google search, apparently utd and atletico madrid want him as well - any good?

2.) 04 Oct 2017 23:28:53
Another attacking midfielder, just what we need.

Hi Eds. Great win yesterday. (I searched for Maia. ) Press is linking us with a Brazilian named Thiago Maia. Anything in it? Or would he be priced out of a move anyways?

{Ed002's Note - Santos' Thiago Maia is of interest to PSG, Monaco, Zenit and Napoli in addition to Chelsea, Fiorentina and Manchester United who all have sustained interest and spoke with his previous agent. He is one of three players at the Olympics that Chelsea were interested in and a bid is still expected after seemingly successful discussions were held with his new representative - but Chelsea will not look to pay the outrageous asking price. PSG has spoken to Santos and after being rebuffed may return with an offer and Napoli have made it clear that they too are interested in making an offer, but the interest of Juventus, Monaco and Arsenal has waned - as the interest of Manchester United may have done. It is unlikely that any move will happen before the summer or potentially January 2018 unless an over the odds offer is made. Liverpool had a scout present at a Santos game in November (as did Zenit, Benfica and Kashima Antlers according to Santos) and that may be the cause of the report regarding Liverpool interest - but I really don't know why they had someone at the game. If they are looking to Maia it would be a significant spend on a teenager who plays as a defensive midfield player so it may take a change in shape of the side to fit him in - given Lucas can't get a game.}

1.) 20 Dec 2016 22:12:11
Could a creative DM signing move Henderson alongside Lallana?

{Ed002's Note - Sure, Klopp could change the way the team is organised in order to accommodate a teenager.}

2.) 21 Dec 2016 09:10:57
Curious Eds, do you rate him? Who does he remind you of as a player? Were there any other players worth scouting at that game?

Thanks and Happy Holidays Eds!

{Ed002's Note - I don't "rate" players but he is a player that plenty of clubs have shown an interest in. Scouts go to games all of the time - that is there job.}

26 Aug 2016 17:20:32
Ed002 I see that the appreciation society has gone a bit dull lately. You not been feeling the love here recently?

{Ed002's Note - I didn't know that and of course I don't know who runs it, but I appoint you my head of boosting. Sign up for the Ed002 Appreciation Society at: }

1.) 26 Aug 2016 18:04:42
Lol I dub thee head of boosting. I just google to see who you've wrecked recently and I haven't seen one in a while. Unfortunately I am not too fond of facebook. But know you're still #1 in my book Ed. Or #2.uhhhhh.

2.) 27 Aug 2016 02:56:52
Been using this site for a few years, tho never posted/ registered before.

just wanted to thanks to all of the eds, and several posters who i always enjoy reading.

been here since dodgy sightings at lennon airport and no daft questions to the eds.

and ed2 who always makes me smile. thx for all the info you provide.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome, and thanks for the kind words. As far as I know, nobody knows if he will be on the 1230 or 1300 arrival at John Lennon International today but there are bound to be a lot of fans at the airport hoping for a glimpse of him.}

14 Aug 2016 23:02:58
Hey Eds, we haven't heard anything about sakho. Haven't seen him in any training photos lately either. Is he on the way out? Honestly had kinda forgotten about him.

{Ed002's Note - He will be sold if a buyer can be found.}

1.) 14 Aug 2016 23:28:37
Dang that's crazy. Difficult situation this.

Thanks Ed.

2.) 14 Aug 2016 23:17:35
He will be back training with the first team this week!

3.) 15 Aug 2016 02:09:57
Is this because of the drug test Ed? He was great last year prior to that debacle.

{Ed001's Note - no.}

4.) 15 Aug 2016 07:32:21
Its to do with him being sent home from the pre season tour in Erica I guess.
Showing complete disrespect by being late for the flight, then a training session and then a club meal.
Klopp showing everyone who is boss by bringing the hammer down hard.

5.) 15 Aug 2016 08:15:33
A preseason tour in Erica? Must have missed that 😳.

6.) 15 Aug 2016 00:31:03
Although I respect your opinion/ info Ed, I highly doubt both Klopp and LFC would be so niave to sell one of their best centre backs due to a behavoural issue. Don't get me wrong he has a lot to do, to get back in to the first 11 but selling him would be complete madness, leaving us then with Klavan, Matip, Lovren and a very inexperienced Gomez who is still recovering from an Acl and Achilles injury. When on form he is vital to our defence, we missed him hugely in the Europa league final too.

7.) 15 Aug 2016 01:17:44
Cheers ed, absolutely ruthless from Klopp but these are the likes of ball I wish Rodgers would have shown.

8.) 15 Aug 2016 05:58:52
from using the search function, do you know if roma are still interested ed002?

{Ed002's Note - No, they have taken Fazio on loan. Housseyni has been spoken to by the club and Besiktas are known to be looking for a centre back but at best will want a loan with an option to buy. Housseyni however is insistant that Sakho stays and if that is the case he will no doubt be spending his time looking for the deal that suits them and not Liverpool. Housseyni has been told that the club expect to recover their investment in him.}

9.) 15 Aug 2016 08:35:00
So that would make Lovren, Klavan, Matip and Gomez our 4 centre backs.

10.) 15 Aug 2016 09:03:30
Hi Ed, is this a case of Klopp setting a clear example to the rest of the squad in terms of behavioral expectations or would it be fair to say there's a little more going on?

Obviously getting sent home from a pre-season tour is a serious matter but you'd be forgiven for thinking it didn't warrant selling the player.

Perhaps it was simply the final straw given the banned substance debacle etc?

{Ed001's Note - isn't enough that he is going? Klopp has made the decision and that is the important thing.}

11.) 15 Aug 2016 09:33:24
thanks ed002 for the update.

12.) 15 Aug 2016 10:15:08
Hi Eds, the signing of Klavan seemed to be a bit of a surprise at the time but if you're correct about Sakho hindsight makes it look like he was brought in as his replacement. Is there a shred of truth in that or am I making a connection where none exists?

{Ed002's Note - The decision regarding Sakho was taken after Klavan signed but you would think that there was some thought process involved.}

13.) 15 Aug 2016 10:21:15
I really liked sakho, he seemed to be warm to the fans, have a bit of a personality which is good for morale and was easily our best cb (not the hardest achievement)

Shame his attitude appears to have dropped, has he always been like this or is it more recent?

Thought the club were sticking by him after the drugs incident so is it that it was ultimately disrespectful of him to be how he has after that or more long term issues?

14.) 15 Aug 2016 10:27:46
Thanks Ed2.

15.) 15 Aug 2016 10:21:15
I really liked sakho, he seemed to be warm to the fans, have a bit of a personality which is good for morale and was easily our best cb (not the hardest achievement)

16.) 15 Aug 2016 12:57:22
Hi ed, would Sakho of been informed of this decision or not?

{Ed002's Note - He will know that the club are open to taking offers for him and he will have spoken with Housseyni.}

17.) 15 Aug 2016 13:56:46
I was excited when we signed him to be honest, but having watched him live a few times I'm glad we're selling. Everything else aside I just don't rate the lad and I've stated that before. I never got the Enrique thing and people on here raved about him? Like the look of klaven think we missed a trick with Ashley Williams and should spend big on a spurs LB. although I'm thinking klopp rates milner there.

18.) 15 Aug 2016 15:46:22
I find this upsetting - to me, he is the most able CB in the squad and losing him will be a significant blow to us and our ability to play out from the back.

19.) 15 Aug 2016 17:16:31
I'm glad don't rate Sakho always a liability for a mistake.

23 Mar 2016 01:29:47
Hi ed002. I read something about our scouts being impressed by American Bobby wood. While I find it difficult to believe, could you please tell me who he has attracted the interest of?

{Ed002's Note - Union Berlin's Hawaiian Bobby Wood is wanted in the summer by Hamburg with Kaiserslautern, Bayer Leverkusen and St. Pauli all being impressed enough to send scouts on more than one occasion to watch him this season.}

1.) 23 Mar 2016 13:31:23
Thank you Ed.

2.) 25 Mar 2016 06:54:42
No disrespect meant at all, but he's from Hawaii, not Hawaiian. Hawaiian is a race, not a nationality, and represents the identity of a race and culture that remains a minority even in it's own land. Again, no disrespect, just helping to spread knowledge as a Native Hawaiian myself.

On a side note. probably a fabricated story about an American based in Germany, not fancied by his German national team manager, and then linked to a club in an English-speaking country with a German manager. Would love it to be true, but I don't believe in miracles. just Leicester winning the league apparently. Apologies for the tangent. Up the reds.

{Ed002's Note - Thank you for the correction.}

Hi eds. Are there any updates on Danny Ings? Really want the lad to make it but it doesn't look like it's going to happen for him here. (Tried searching Ings but kept getting thINGS as a result haha)

{Ed002's Note - He has nothing coming up so will look for an out.

1.) 03 Dec 2017 12:47:06
Thanks ed002.

17 Nov 2017 15:20:21
ED001, I'm curious to your thoughts on this coutinho matter. I know you don't want him to play again, but what I'm curious about is selling price. Barcelona have no doubt unsettled the player. He's not playing well. If we leave him out until January, or the end of the month as Ed002 has said, does his value drop? Do we let it go down just for the sake of being rid of him, or do we stand firm and risk him staying? I want Barcelona to pay the maximum after this whole saga, but as much as I don't want coutinho to play for us again, I don't want the guy to have to waste half a season on the bench.

{Ed001's Note - his value will go down either way. He is playing terribly so it makes no difference to his transfer value. However it does make a lot of difference to the team and, right now, we look better without him. The most important thing is to finish as high up the league as possible.}

1.) 17 Nov 2017 15:36:44
Very interesting eds.

{Ed001's Note - thank you.}

21 Sep 2017 15:17:22
ed001, I see you offering really high praise to Naby Keita. I am excited by what I'm hearing about the lad, hope he pans out to be a monster. That being said, I wanted to do some searching of my own, and I find he's been banned for 3 games for a Mane like challenge apparently. Way to get my hopes up . : (.

{Ed001's Note - should be able to find some RBL games here mate: full game videos I think.}

1.) 21 Sep 2017 17:56:03
I have Bundesliga games on my cable subscription since last season and I got to watch Naby play a bit and indeed, his talent is immense BUT I was not sold on the 75m fee for him cos it was too much. I watched him a bit already this season and he is the real deal and Klopp and FSG played a blinder getting him for next season. Oh and btw, there is Bayern vs Wolfsburg this Fri and Origi will be on show as he scored in his last game.

2.) 21 Sep 2017 18:14:12
Bingo - good shout for Bayern vs Wolfsburg, thank you!

3.) 21 Sep 2017 19:45:49
No probs, Hijkle.

20 Sep 2017 03:35:10
I see some Ox bashing below and I'm quite confused by it. He wasn't a world beater by any means but he had some good moments. Ox looked exhausted by the end but that's expected. He was at least forward thinking and worked hard. He's going to get better with game time. If you're going to bash someone, bash the Brazilian superstar whose back hurt too bad to join us for preseason. He's been pretty bad to say the least.

The only positive I can think of, is seeing Danny ings in a red shirt again. I Want that lad to succeed so badly, but I fear he won't get a chance. Solanke is not first team ready yet, and I think ings deserves his chance. More substitute appearances would do him a world of good, to build fitness.

1.) 20 Sep 2017 04:57:53
i had couple of good moment back in 1999 and i will give my blood for Lfc can i play as well please.

2.) 20 Sep 2017 04:59:57
Can you tell what was the actual need of buying him other than " I trust Klopp" Or how is he better than Origi / Ryan Kent. I am dying to hear anything valid from you! Can I tell you as a pure winger Ryan Kent should be ahead of him? Or you could have actually brought a good out and out winger for that sum. He was never good enough to play in the middle and by last night I don't think he will ever play on the flanks either! You are talking about a £40 mill player here!

3.) 20 Sep 2017 05:01:07
I wonder if any other player any other club has taken more abuse on their first start than Chamberlain has tonight, that's true supporters for you!

4.) 20 Sep 2017 05:07:45
First half he was decent second half he was woeful there’s no getting away from it. Like a lot of the side he tired badly around 55-60 minutes and then they cane into the game that’s what can happen when you play a team that’s barely had 99 minutes between then since pre season.

5.) 20 Sep 2017 06:22:02
We could have had Mahrez for 10 mill more. Oh yeah I forgot he's only had 1 good season (pretty amazing season) which is 1 more than the Ox.

6.) 20 Sep 2017 06:42:18
Suggest we all get of Ox's back. I'm not sure why we bought him but it's his first match and I've seen others play far worse. Let's give him time and see what Klopps plan is for the lad and judge towards second half of the season. Biggest worry was how Hendo and Gini failed to inspire the team IMO as we needed that cutting edge to continue second half from the middle of the park and it completely when coutinho left.

7.) 20 Sep 2017 07:02:45
Not worried about Hendo as I never counted him! Wijnaldum is not a CM or in any form. By the end of this season you ll come in terms with that fact!

8.) 20 Sep 2017 07:49:55
£35m when we are lightweight in midfield and have no decent centre halves is an absolute appalling signing.

9.) 20 Sep 2017 08:12:32
Harry, you go too far, mate. Such vitriol against your own players over and over and over. We get it. You don't rate Henderson and you firmly believe we need a DM or DLP. I agree we will probably benefit from a DM but no need to go on and on.

10.) 20 Sep 2017 08:34:46
Gini and can offer more than Henderson on a weekly basis but the fact that all three are quite similar makes our midfield one dimensional, addnin grujic who doesn't seem that different and everything is predictable.

18 Sep 2017 13:55:16
I grow so tired of reading "we deserved more from the (insert name) match. " You get what you deserve. I understand playing better than the opposition, but it means nothing if you don't score more goals than the other team. It's that simple. Yet another excuse instead of addressing the problem head on 😔.

Then again, I get flustered reading "we will be better next time. " I guess there are only so many things you can say to the press.

Less excuses, more results!

1.) 18 Sep 2017 14:11:02
Unless of course, you have a 100% stone wall penalty in the last five minutes tjred.

2.) 18 Sep 2017 14:11:17
That isn't given.

3.) 18 Sep 2017 15:08:53
Tjred, I agree with you in the main as we were to blame for not taking our chances cos had we don that, the disallowded pen is a non issue. BUT it being disallowed dis still an issue.

4.) 18 Sep 2017 15:53:03
I get that but we shouldn't have been in a position to need that penalty.

5.) 18 Sep 2017 15:16:35
Or could be missed?

6.) 18 Sep 2017 17:46:15
Not with Milner on the pitch.

7.) 18 Sep 2017 17:58:30
There's that too, Mcgoveb.

Blocking him from going there was literally the worst decision we could have made. It is one of few loans we do that the player gets first team chances every week.

{Ed002's Note - He will be looking to move on permanently in the summer.}

Honestly think its the best move for the lad. He needs to be starting week in week out, but having competition to lose that place all the while. Wolfsburg is a good club too. A lot can happen between now and next summer though.

I think many on here are convinced by his talent ed. And considering what we were willing to pay had we acquired him this summer, the price we agreed for next summer looks like a steal! I think he's a good pickup, but I'm just going off what the eds have told me and the occasional video.

I unfortunately didn’t get to see the game. But I’ll never understand why we ever put Ox in midfield. The only times he’s impressed has been on the wing in a forward position.
Granted idk where he played today but I’ve seen him take some stick.

Why not an extra field ref? Other sports make use of it quite well. These are older guys expected to keep up with prime athletes on a full pitch.

I take it you’re a Hendo fan ed025?

He’s not bad mate. He is excellent at pressing the ball and breaking up play. He’s not been as good since the injuries though.

{Ed025's Note - i think hes a nice guy and would do a good job for a mid table side Tj but if you want to win things then an upgrade is required imo, its a bit like boris johnson who has got a top job even though we all know he should not really be in the post, but good luck to the fella..
