Alright eddie and fellow reds.

Ed any chance of getting your 2 cents on why illori has not managed to cement a starting birth at any of the clubs he has been at? I know inexperience and injury would be a part of it while out on loan, but he has never really kicked on from the lad we bought.
He seems like a decent tackler, good on the ball and can pick a pass (trys to force them at times for me) . But their has to be 1 or 2 major flaws in his game, as no manager seems to give him more then a few first team appearances per season, even though for me he has not looked out of place while on the pitch, never had an outstanding game where I've said we have something special on our hands here, but I do believe that a CB does not need to stand to be a good player.

Is he not strong enough, positinally not good enough, not strong enough in the air, not good enough at reading what's in front of him, invites to much pressure while in the ball, attatude, what is it that is missing from his game in your opinion?

Also interested in my fellow reds opinions on the lad. just not interested in the IT'S RODGERS FAULT brigade.

I really did have a hope of having a CB with pace to hold the high line, it would work so well with klopps press and a compact pitch.

Hope you have the time to compose a piece on this, but even if you don't thanks for all the work you put into the site on a daily basis.

{Ed002's Note - Try the search engine - this has been covered over and over.}

1.) 07 Jan 2017 16:40:27
Overweight and a bit lazy

2.) 07 Jan 2017 20:48:50
Ed001 has mentioned on a couple of occasions that Michael Beale was trying to get him a chance in the first team before he left, but I guess you have more information on his situation 🤔.

3.) 07 Jan 2017 21:27:15
Not given a chance initially, then he suffered a string of injuries, seemingly lost motivation for a while as his fitness was wavering and effort seemed to be lacking, before finally he found his feet over the last 12 months and put in some brilliant performances for the ressies to very deservingly earn a move to a good club at a competitive level of football.

I wish him all the luck in the world and regret massively how poorly his career was managed by Liverpool. He has been severely let down. Selling him is the first decent thing we have done for his career.

4.) 09 Jan 2017 03:46:02
Spot on, MK. The way he was let down and lied to by BR was disgusting and a huge embarassment.

Hi Edo. Little help finding the podcast. Finally hav3 time to listen but unable to locate it. Thank.

{Ed002's Note - Try searching please.}

1.) 20 Nov 2016 16:41:56
podcast was 12 Nov, on rumours 2 page mate.

2.) 20 Nov 2016 23:58:10
Try searching on the word 'sharkopod'.

06 Aug 2016 16:24:56
For me it makes more sense for milner to play rb and have clyne push over to lb as milies delivery is much better.

1.) 06 Aug 2016 17:03:21
Play 2 out of position instead of one? Sure why not? Lol.

2.) 06 Aug 2016 18:46:04
Sorry your right clyne offers way to much down the right to be moved over to the left where he never plays.

Hi ed's.
Any chance of a brief history of the site. From its humble beginnings to the high corporate world the the editorsame enjoy today. Thabks.

{Ed001's Note - not sure it has really gone beyond the humble beginnings all that much to be honest. We started off as one site, football-rumours, with everything on there as a free for all, but in the first few years I wrote all the content for the rumours page myself. Eventually people started to contribute rumours and replies to the rumours, even then though it was a lot of questions, though they would usually come via email. There was a lot of people who were distant relatives of a player that would request info on them and how they were getting on, so I would spend a lot of my spare time trying to find that out for people.
Then it started to get busy and we began to launch other sites, such as the US sports sites, to try and actually make some money out of it after 5 or so years of it costing us money and being a hobby.
At the same sort of time, it just sort of exploded and became incredibly busy, but there was a problem with trying to find a way to stop the main page just becoming swamped with one team or sectarian arguments between Celtic and Rangers fans, oh and the Geordies and Mackems arguing over which one of them was about to win the league the next season and how the other team was ****.
We first off tried giving them separate pages on the main site, so that we could limit the arguments to there, but they would still carry them on to the main pages, so we started up separate sites. Liverpool, at the time, was by far and away the most followed club online, the official site had the highest page views of any team in sports back then. So we had to create a separate site for Liverpool at the start. It has always been the busiest one we have, by a long way. We tried things like forums and such like, to try and improve the site, but we have realised that just makes us like every other site out there, so we have pretty much stuck to our original format, just tried to tweak it and improve it.
Things got so busy with just one site, I had asked a few people to help, regular valuable contributors, such as Ed002, who was one of the very first group of editors. As we created more sites, the editors just pitched in to help, we couldn't have done any of this without their help, given for free.
It has destroyed my health but I still love what I do and wouldn't swop it for any job out there. The next step is to grow enough to earn the money to begin paying editors, so they can devote more time and we can grow more and employ more etc. Hopefully.}

1.) 09 May 2016 05:32:43
The work you put in is incredible and much appreciated. It's given many of us a much deeper understanding and appreciation for the club and game we love. Cheers Ed (001 and 002 especially)

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate, I have had to cut back in recent years to fit in time for things like sleep....}

2.) 09 May 2016 06:44:01
Shows how much passion u have to push through the toughest days and keep it going, thanks because it's fantastic reading everything on this site especially living in Australia and I love LFC so I get my fix everyday.

{Ed001's Note - it must be tough enough being a Kiwi in Oz!}

3.) 09 May 2016 06:58:46
What? We love Kiwi's over here!
Just want to add my thanks also, as an ex Fazakerley boy following my team from the other side of the planet, this site is much appreciated.

{Ed001's Note - long way from Fazakerley that mate!}

4.) 09 May 2016 07:17:34
been on here since the torres sale days. there has been a lot of highlights. agueros lucky pants. blair mayne and harry annoyances and maccas up to date rumours that nearly broke this website. was as if the pope was typing out the rumours but my favourite things from here are the detailed editor rumour replies to the ins and outs. wherever you get your info from you can tell you put heaps of work in. its a good read to forget about the real world of work.

{Ed001's Note - Blair Mayne has been a big loss to the site, it must be said. I hope he is all well and good and enjoying his life.}

5.) 09 May 2016 07:56:38
Well done, in any case, Ed001. You've really created something "of substance" over the years and I would even say created something that makes a real difference (only postive) to a lot of people. I hope you get the rewards all of you deserve (financially, and healthwise) . I'm a strong believer in the "hard work and effort always leads to deserved rewards" ethic, so I know you will.

{Ed001's Note - if only that were true mate! Still it does give me a lot of pleasure (at times) and I would never have met the missus without it, so it has brought me rewards beyond purely monetarily.}

6.) 09 May 2016 10:30:23
The podcasts have been my favourite addition.

7.) 09 May 2016 11:26:50
Ed001 and ed002 got married? My days.

8.) 09 May 2016 10:59:40
Yeah cheers eds, I love this site and you all do a great job. A nice mix of info, banter and Mickey taking with the odd (emphasis on odd! ) wind up merchant. I've stopped believing anything lfc related unless it appears on here from the eds. Thanks to all.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate. It is hard work, but mostly worth it.}

9.) 09 May 2016 12:33:40
edoo1 when I think about how busy you are and your schedule and everything else you have going on, its even more impressive to me how you find the time to fit everything in. Thanks for the site and for all the hard work and good luck with everything you have going on, going forward, thanks pal.

{Ed001's Note - thank you mate.}

10.) 09 May 2016 13:31:06
You said something about paying the editors. When the time comes, please don't be shy to approach me ya Ed01.

{Ed001's Note - what to pay the editors? ;-)

11.) 09 May 2016 14:24:51
Brilliant site. Brilliant insights. First place, last place, I check out for everything #LFC.

Go raibh mile mile maith agaibh!

12.) 09 May 2016 14:26:05

But all the best guys. I'm sure it will grow enough, so you can do whatever you guys are planning to do. It's just a matter of when.

06 May 2016 19:05:15
Would like to say well done to the team.
Frist euro finels in what 9 years.
Well done klopp and Rodgers true liverpool legends.

1.) 06 May 2016 19:08:34
Rodgers? I don't think he can take any credit for getting to this final.

2.) 06 May 2016 19:30:51
Some Ron. He assembled the squad Klopp is using. Okay Klopp is getting 10 times more out of them. Rodgers tenure got us into the Europa league this season.

3.) 06 May 2016 19:40:30
Ok but I don't think either are "LFC legends" yet.
To be an LFC legend you have to win something and from my point of view it's got to be one of the big 2 - league or European cup.

4.) 06 May 2016 19:43:59
I presume that is tongue in cheek gazza, Rodgers deserves no credit for our Europa campaign if klopp hadn't arrived we most likely would not have made it out of group stage . Klopp came in took the europaseriously and has done an unreal job in developing the players we have and trying to rebuild their confidence after Rodgers tenure. Just feel sorry for the likes of Marko who I believe would thrive under jurgen has been denied the chance because I'd stupid decisions taken by Rodgers.

5.) 06 May 2016 19:48:20
Brendan Rodgers it was that started this seasons European run and named the original squad.

6.) 06 May 2016 20:20:42
It was meant to be a bit of a laugh.
But it's interesting on the medals front how it would work, let's say a manager gets a team to the final and has to step down as manager for personal reasons or what ever, the new manager then wins the cup. Who would get the medal or would both get one. If I remember right
Richie de laet could have won a preimer league medal and a championship winners medal this year if Middlesbrough had won the championship.

7.) 06 May 2016 20:47:15
Rodgers assembled the squad? This the same squad he was at pains to let the world know he had the foisted on him by the TC? Come on can't have it both ways.

8.) 06 May 2016 23:27:13
Like GHs squad in 05 apart from a few 😄.

9.) 07 May 2016 02:08:33
BR should NEVER be mentioned or associated anywhere near what ever Klopp has achieved with this team this season.

10.) 07 May 2016 03:31:44
It was Rodgers that started this European run? Are you nuts or have you just got a soft spot for Rodgers?
Do you not remember the boring European games we had at the start? And the embarrassing champions league group stage? Liverpool getting to two finals has nothing to do with Rodgers. this made me laugh. Then I realised you guys are serious, now I feel bad for you. Rodgers could sign Messi, Ronaldo, Benzema and De Gea and would still be able to mess them up and play them all in the wrong positions.

11.) 07 May 2016 16:13:44
Spot on, Alsky. BR gets NO credit for whatever Klopp achieved this season. This is all down to him, the players and the believers who were on board with him. The OP must be a BR apologist trying to align him with our relative success this season. ain't going to HAPPEN!

Of course it hasn't happened Ron. It is impossible for both teams to win their first meeting.

I find mobdro struggles during peak game times, guess the server can't handle the traffic or something to that effect
