Any truth about Leeds interested in signing Ward? if so is there any chance we'd sell? - Really hope not, I want to see more of this kid next season.

24 Dec 2016 09:52:16
Eds is it true Inter are wanting to sign Lucas? Sincerely hope this isn't true.

Merry Christmas to all, hope you all have a great one. - BahHumbug.

{Ed002's Note - Any interest would almost certainly depend on what is happening to Geoffrey Kondogbia else he would move from not playing in Liverpool to not playing in Milan.}

1.) 24 Dec 2016 10:44:40
Cheers ed2 have a good christmas.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

15 Nov 2016 08:54:03
Probably another daft rumour I know but seen online this morning Stoke and West Ham are apparently wanting to sign Sturridge in Jan. I think I know the answer to this but eds is there any truth to it?

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any approaches for Sturridge at this time. However, both are looking at strikers.}

1.) 15 Nov 2016 09:13:41
Interesting, thanks ed2.

2.) 15 Nov 2016 09:23:42
West ham makes sense ( London ) but not way he would move to stoke city.

3.) 15 Nov 2016 09:47:53
Well we can agree on something Harry lol, yeah I think the same, if anywhere it'd be West Ham I think but who knows until it happens. So many rediculous rumours going around it's hard to know what to believe, but it wouldn't surprise me if this went through to be honest, of course I hope it doesnt.

4.) 15 Nov 2016 10:33:46
Do you think liverpool would let Sturridge go in Jan? Just thinking with Ings out again wouldn't it be worth holding clubs off until the summer? I know we have a decent stroke force right now but still i'd hang onto him.

5.) 15 Nov 2016 12:00:45
Agreed jcw we'd bw leaving ourselves short of we got rid in Jan. Not worth the risk.

6.) 15 Nov 2016 14:11:17
JCW true unless we replace him with somebody in Jan.

7.) 17 Nov 2016 07:48:46
My personal opinion would be, he'll stay on if he's not pushed out of the club. at least till the Summer. We're in a good position to be in the title race and I'm sure he'll love to win something with Liverpool. Even with limited playing time, he's still a regular with the England squad and I'm sure he'll get more playing time once Mane is away. Till then, he will still play but I doubt he'll be in the first 11 if everyone is fit.

05 Nov 2016 08:44:34
Hi eds based on rigght now with the info you have got, Should Sakho go in January is it looking more like a loan or will he be flogged? I'm hoping it's not a loan and he ends up gone for good! but something is tellin me not many teams will be interested in him. I wonder why!

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed - the club want to sell hime else a loan is possible becasue of the money involved. Liverpool would rather sell than continue to spend money on a player who is not in the first team plans.}

1.) 05 Nov 2016 09:16:54
Let's hope it goes our way! Thank you Ed2.

2.) 06 Nov 2016 09:39:29
Just curious to know your opinion on the whole situation with sahko Ed002.I thought he was our best defender last season and is a real presence in the back, I'd like to see him and matip play together.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp has decided he doesn't want him after a number of issues in the summer but the club have gotten themselves in to a difficult situation with his agent by their financial demands. Where the club will be in January is not likely where they want to be - subsidising his wages on a loan through to the end of the season.}

02 Nov 2016 02:01:39
'Liverpool are considering a move to sign Shalke Left back sead Koloasinac on a free transfer next summer. '

I must admit I know nothing of him and don't know if it's true, so my questions are, is it true? and is he any good?

Probably a load of rubbish I know, afterall I did see it on facebook so it says it all, just wondering.

1.) 02 Nov 2016 14:20:54
Koloasinac is from Bosnia, same place as Liverpool No2, and his contract is up at the end of the season, leaving him open to a free transfer, I have heard we are interested .

{Ed002's Note - Previously of interest to Manchester United and Spurs, Roma and Manchester City enquired after Schalke's Sead Kolasinac in the summer but the enquiries went nowhere. Chelsea and Liverpool had also had watched last season. West Ham and RBL have had him watched this season.}

2.) 02 Nov 2016 21:04:59
thanks Ed, I have heard that Koloasinac has recovered from a bad knee injury, and is playing well, he can also play in a couple of other positions, this sounds like one of Klopps signings .

{Ed002's Note - Kick Gomez out and it makes a little sense.}

3.) 03 Nov 2016 02:19:23
Yeah I'd rather see gomez been given his chance.

Ed1 correct me if im wrong, but I believe you once said, unfortunately we 'may' see Lucas been moved on in the summer. (I think it was you) - Do you still believe this to be the case? I'd be gutted to see him go, always liked the fella.

With Klopp playing him it makes me think maybe he will keep hold of him? I know he isn't going to be on every game or anything like that but as a backup he's perfect.

{Ed001's Note - Lucas nearly moved in January, the club have left it in his hands, as a reward for his service. It really depends on the offer that comes in, as he is only a back up in Klopp's eyes, so the right offer will see him leave.}

1.) 12 Feb 2017 16:51:51
Ahh I see, cheers mate. In this case I'd expect a decent offer to come in this summer, hopefully not mind.

2.) 12 Feb 2017 17:20:48
He's an asset to the club as he can provide in midfield and at centre half.
Injuries and age have affected his stamina.

As he is getting towards the end of his career he probably wants to play as often as possible and to do that may need to move to a less intense league like serie A.

But I hope he stays with us as he seems to be a top guy who always has a smile on his face and can still put in top performances.

I'd say also that he is a mentor like figure to Firminio and Coutinio who has helped them settle in.

3.) 12 Feb 2017 17:57:42
Hi Ed001,
Been a while since I posted.
Do you think Lucas will get a testimonial? I hope he does, he surely deserves one.

{Ed001's Note - I expect him to.}

4.) 12 Feb 2017 20:08:00
Love the guy to bits and would be sad to see him leave. I would see if he would be interested in a role when he eventually retires. Has shown a great personality since he's been and whether he was to be a coach or an ambassador i think we need more people like him around.

{Ed002's Note - He has only just turned 30 - what role would you offer him?}

5.) 12 Feb 2017 20:48:10
I did say eventually, but I'm not sure ed. I Just think a few players could learn a thing or two from him.

6.) 13 Feb 2017 09:39:01
When he does retire I'd like to see him alongside Gerrard with the youngsters, would do them the world of good, two ex players like that teaching the youngsters the way would have to be a plus for the academy. Still far too early to talk about I guess.

11 Feb 2017 10:25:20
What happened to match previews ed1 mate. Bit too busy?

{Ed001's Note - yes mate. Moving in to a new flat now. Internet should be on later so hopefully back to normal next week.}

1.) 11 Feb 2017 11:37:09
Liverpools bad form seemed to happen when you stopped doing them ed, hurry up and get your wifi up and running lol.

{Ed001's Note - I think the internet is on mate, and yes, since I left Spain to visit my best mate and my daughter we haven't won a game!}

2.) 11 Feb 2017 14:59:15
Come on Ed001, stop putting your daughter before LFC and go back to Spain!

{Ed001's Note - believe me I am considering it! If things don't pick up I will have to.}

01 Feb 2017 00:46:50
A draw was a good result, it's not all doom and gloom just yet! onto the next game! Hull won't be as easy as some may think but I believe we'll do it. T

1.) 01 Feb 2017 10:09:58
A decent result, stopped the rot.
We needed a win, it will take something extraordinary to win the title now.

2.) 01 Feb 2017 10:19:16
It would Ron, top4 will do me mate

26 Jan 2017 23:23:47
How did the eds become eds? sorry it may sound stupid but I have no idea, only really been active a year or so, Ron should be an ed, he reminds me of ed1, speaks sense!

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure whether to be flattered or insulted? As for how to become an ed it varies. These days though we mostly pick them as we have had a lot of problems in the past with eds who just want to sit and read the chat on our editors widget to get info and never actually do any editing. The last few years we have become more choosy.}

1.) 26 Jan 2017 21:48:46
Well said mate

2.) 27 Jan 2017 00:03:38
For me the question quite simply is where do you go from klopp. You can't get more liverpool in a manager of auch hugh quality as him. A manager that has succeded with a less powerful money team with league titles. A manager who with one transfer window made us title challengers. Finals. fun. youngers. improvements. goals. sensational jaw dropping moments.

To have him after dortmund when he could of picked any team in the world. and for him to actuall deliver and be all that we inagined he would. well.

Klopp is liverpool and that's the end of the that.

{Ed002's Note - Klopp couldn't get the job he wanted which is why he moved to Liverpool. He has had three windows and not one.}

3.) 27 Jan 2017 00:10:24
I appreciate you trying to be positive in a difficult moment for the club and us fans but I can't help but notice the same excuses being used to avoid the fact we are in a horrid run at the minute and have the same problems we had last season. The excuse 'who would have thought we would be here before the start of the season' has to be the motto for this season with some of the posters and it's ridiculous, it's testament to how far the mentality at this club has fallen. It's important to be realistic so I'll dissect the excuse as best I can. At the beginning of the season, people's expectations was to achieve top 4, that was the aim and anything other than that would have been deemed failure in a season with far less games with the absence of European football and a decent amount of money spent. Right now that is where we are at, albeit skating on thin ice as the two Manchester clubs are right behind us. We then proceeded to put ourselves in a position to challenge and be right up there amongst it. We drop points to the likes of Burnley, Bournemouth, Swansea, West Ham, Sunderland. That would be disappointing in any season, not just a title challenging season. We effectively are not in a title race anymore and are out of a competeition we where very close to winning, we put ourselves in the situation. It doesn't matter about prior expectations because we are where we are, so make the most of it. If we don't make the most of it, that is failing, it's like crediting us last season to getting to two cup finals we didn't win, how is that achieving anything? Considering we finished 8th the same season. Did we overachieve at the beginning of the season, yes we did, but we where in that position so losing points to the teams we did and falling back the way we did isn't justified by 'think back to august, would you think we would be here', it's a nonsense excuse, we where there and lost to people we should be beating regardless.

People also mention, we have taken steps forward, I wonder if they said the same under rogers. The difference from this season to last season is we have improved offensively and identified an area we have lacked for so long going forward which is width. Mane comes in and totally adds a new dynamic to the attack, this is the reason we found it far easier against teams that decided to sit back, and Leicester and hull where not the best examples of teams parking the bus against us that we ended up winning. Attack is an area we have taken a step forward, midfield. NO. Defence. Definitely not, just as bad as last season. Goalkeeper. Not so far. So there areas where we haven't progressed at all, it's just been ignored by the fact we have a brilliant offence. Now our only genuine wide option has gone, we had no idea how to deal with it. From playing firmino and lallana out wide to playing can instead of wiji, we have made some stupid mistakes that have costed us results. That excuse doesn't work in our situation, we are exactly where we expected to be right at this point in time and may even slip out of that if our current form continues. I have faith we will get it right, but please, stop with those BS excuses. A few games yes it would be valid, but it has been a month of poor performances against lesser opposition.

No one is saying Klopp out, but certain people are just ignoring the mistakes and glossing it with excuses. It's important to be balanced and look at it two ways which very few people are doing as if Klopp could do no wrong, unfortunantly he and the players haven't coped with the fixture congestion, again. Let's hope we turn it around soon.

4.) 27 Jan 2017 04:54:33
I love the guy but Klopp isn't any more Liverpool than Luis Suarez

5.) 27 Jan 2017 07:20:42
Hi Kman, nice post.
You know me, I would have expected us to be in this position at the start of the season, I expected us to be higher πŸ˜„. But equally, you have to agree it's been a good first half of the season despite a little wobble in January. There's no denying that and I personally believe the stuff we were playing before injuries caught up with us was the best attacking football in the league.
I did say we took strides forward under Rodgers, we did, it's a fact. But he couldn't handle losing Suarez and simulataneously qualifying for the champions league. His inexperience and his ego caught up with him. There is no inexperience with Klopp and probably the right amount of ego.
I still think we can get back to our early season form, a team is going to get a serious beating soon and it will start clicking again. We've had an awful January, but that should detract from the great football and entertainment Klopp's men provided August - December πŸ‘

6.) 27 Jan 2017 06:30:10
πŸ˜„ @ed001. I'll take it as flattery then.
Cheers 16 πŸ˜‰, the eds do a great job making my posts look coherent 😎

{Ed001's Note - that's a good point, they don't see the hours of translation and editing that goes into your posts to make them intelligible.....}

7.) 27 Jan 2017 08:00:49
Thanks for that info ed1 mate :)

{Ed001's Note - welcome mate.}

8.) 27 Jan 2017 09:20:23
Klopp is a good manager but he has made mistakes that have cost us. He knew Mane was going to be gone from the day he bought him yet he had no plan B for when he was gone. He keeps taking Firmino out of the middle when even the dog in the street knows that is his best position. Can has been diabolical the last few months yet he trys to get him in the team at the cost of playing other players out of position. There really needs to be a 100% improvement tomorrow against Wolves from Klopps team selection to the player's attitude because they have been nothing short of disgraceful the last month. Simply not good enough only beating a league 2 team in 7 games, that wouldn't be good enough for Watford or Southampton supporter's so i don't see how some supporter's on here accept it at Liverpool. Ah it's only a blip but when does it not become a blip,2,3,4 more games? It needs to be sorted like yesterday i am sick of hearing " Oh we will get it right "

{Ed001's Note - how does everyone know central is Firmino's best position when all season long people have been questioning him being central as he is better wide? Now he is moved wide suddenly everyone knows he is better centrally! He is excellent in both positions, just be thankful we have him on the pitch.}

9.) 27 Jan 2017 09:34:28
Good post Kman, honest and fair. We've clearly improved upfront significantly with Mane (and struggled with him out), however I'd also argue that although Klopp has lots more to do in the defence he's at least recognising that with Gini in for Can, Matip for Skrtel and Karius for Bogdan all meaningful improvements on last year despite the current dip in form and even if we continue to throw points too often.

We clearly have still struggled of late though and now it's time for Klopp to show he's flexible enough to solve for problems rather than complaining about this that or the other. all sides go through slumps but winners pick themselves up and find a way. He needs to do the same, and find solutions to how to combat the deep defenses he's likely to face until he can prove we can score regardless. I feel he's been too slow to react, try the youngsters and/ or get creative, but it's easy in hindsight and the proof will be in the next couple of months whether he can solve the puzzle.

I think next summer he also needs to bring in a couple of big names to deepen the bench and improve things, but I also am guessing he already has that in mind and is taking a patient approach to getting the right players in as they become available rather than buying in a panic and overpaying for mediocrity like we've done in the past. Matip and Mane give me comfort he's a good judge of what we need.

10.) 27 Jan 2017 09:47:47
There is something else to consider: Chelsea and United both had rough starts to the season. Arsenal only won their first game in November on the last November fixture. For the month that Kane was out, Spurs had 4 draws in 5 games. City are going through the same rough patch as us.

It's a shame we've lost our form right when it hurts most, mostly because of the cup, but in reality every other team around us has seen the same dip in form. But they all arrested it in time to equalise and we need to as well - starting with this weekend.

For what it's worth, I actually thought that first half against Swansea we looked back to our best. Then our defense struck and it all went to rubbish but we aren't far from regaining the fluency we had before and here is to hoping that this weekend kicks back into place!

11.) 27 Jan 2017 09:52:32
Lol your welcome Ron mate :)

12.) 27 Jan 2017 15:10:41
not much will change until Mane is back playing for us, there will be no incoming first team player in this window, if we can get something from the next 3 games, and Mane back, then we can kick on, and maybe get top four, don't think we will see a cup final this season, too many average players right now . next season will be much better, think Klopp is thinking the same .

13.) 27 Jan 2017 15:24:50
Kman, your post is well thought out even tho I disagree with parts of it. We did make progress under BR and that is a fact. He himself, was the one who blew it with his own arrogance and belief in his own hype. Also, BR had three full seasons here. Klopp has only had 1 season if you count half of last season and half of this one so it is unfair to compare the two. Have we made progress under him? Absolutely. Have we struggled under him? Absolutely. Both come with the territory so no news there. We ask for him to use the youth or be creative. He does, it doesn`t work, he gets slated for not using the first teamers. He then uses the first teamers, they fumble, he gets slated. That`s just insane cos he can`t win.

He has players like Studge, Origi, Can, Klavan that have let him done and disappointed cos they haven`t stepped up especially, Studge. Had these players stepped up, we would be calling Klopp a genius. If Klopp knew they would disappoint him, I`m sure he would have planned better and not trusted them.

Every team has had a dip in form as that happens so that`s normal. We are struggling right (injured players, players back from injury and those playing with injuries) and all it takes is one great result (Chelsea? ) to get the shot of confidence we need.

14.) 28 Jan 2017 00:07:27
Hi Eds.
Reading your reply to the above post where you said Klopp didn't get the job he wanted so next best was LFC.

Who or where was the other club?

Tks.

{Ed002's Note - Bayern Munich.}

23 Jan 2017 09:33:59
Back in Spain now Ed1 mate? hope you enjoyed your time in the UK :)

{Ed001's Note - not really, we didn't win a game while I was there! Thankfully off home this week.}

1.) 23 Jan 2017 10:32:45
I think you need to be back before the next game then mate and never return to the UK haha! Have a safe trip ed1.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate, I am looking forward to being warm and not feeling ill all the time once more! Though me dad 'helped' with the flight, as he likes to do stuff like that, so I have a 16 hour flight via Stockholm to look forward to, as it was Β£3 cheaper than a direct 8 hour flight.}

2.) 23 Jan 2017 11:04:48
When are you returning to Dubai Ed01?

{Ed001's Note - this week mate. Couple of days from now.}

3.) 23 Jan 2017 11:23:23
That is brilliant. It will probably cost you another Β£15 minimum for food and drink, While you wait for your connection, or is he going to send you off with a packed lunch too?

{Ed001's Note - I did point that out to him, as well as the fact that, as the flight goes at 6:45am it will mean he will have to drive me to the airport in the early hours, when a daytime flight would have seen me hop on the train to Malaga. No point talking to him though, he just sees it is Β£3 cheaper and thinks it is a bargain!}

4.) 23 Jan 2017 11:40:08
You don't argue with your parents Ed01. You simply obey themπŸ˜„. Ha ha

{Ed001's Note - it's pointless anyway, as he never looked at any of that, he had already booked them after seeing they were cheaper! Old people should not be allowed technology, it just leads to problems.}

5.) 23 Jan 2017 12:01:56
Ha Ha ha. Poor old Ed025 πŸ˜„

{Ed001's Note - Ed025 is beyond old. Wayyyyyyyyy beyond old.}

6.) 23 Jan 2017 14:27:21
Ed was it your dad or Ian Ayre that booked the flight? 😏

{Ed001's Note - me dad was Ian Ayre's travel advisor before he retired.....}

7.) 23 Jan 2017 15:18:14
No wonder Ayre reached a day after the deadline day in Ukraine for Konoplayanka. Ha ha

8.) 23 Jan 2017 14:51:50
Lol ed1 i know the feeling mate. Enjoy won't you haha! always funny when it's not yourself but when it's somebody else I can't help it. Sorry ed1 lol I'm sure it'll be a delightful journey :)

{Ed001's Note - thanks mate, I am sure it will be well worth it all to save Β£3!}

Still technically a Liverpool player so he gets my support but I do believe he'll be off probably in the summer. Good player but not for us. Championship level? No, would fit right in with a team like stoke.
