Hi ed001, just on a friendly visit from the United page. I've seen further down the page your remarks about Suarez. Can I ask what exactly went on behind the scenes with him? If you don't want to get into it that's fine. Just wandered as a lot of Liverpool fans I know have him on a pedastool and view him as a legend etc.
Cheers and good luck for the rest of the season!

{Ed001's Note - he was desperate to leave. He threatened to take the club to court to get a move to Arsenal, which he had to be talked down from. The other players, particularly Lucas, talked him round and he stayed another season. Then Barca came in for him, he wanted to go, told the club so, but a deal was not agreed, next thing you know he has bit someone. While we will never know if he did that deliberately to ensure the move went through or if he was just so frustrated about a move not happening he lost the plot, one thing is for sure, that ensured he got the move. He threatened the club with everything from going on strike to court action over his time, all just to get away. I will never understand why people support him.}

Morals go out the window when a player can put the ball into the onion bag as good as suarez.

{Ed001's Note - that is extremely worrying.}

It's because most people don't know about all this.

However, even though he was up to all this stuff behind the scenes, every time he stepped on the field he put more effort in than any other player on the pitch. For this reason, I don't really care that he wanted away. He was using Liverpool as a stepping stone, and he played so well for us that he got his dream ticket to get a contract playing for Barcelona. I have no hard feelings for him at all, and wish him the best, I really do. Delighted that he got the european golden boot, and I hope that he keeps banhing them in.

If.

{Ed001's Note - I really do not understand how anyone could not care that he treated the club with such disrespect and destroyed its image around the world.}

To be fair it's not just the fans who's morals go out the window. There is quite a few there the club has made questionable decisions about players.
Signed suarez after he already bit a player.
Rah$$m when he was running around with his little gang, and then bashing his girlfriend should have been pushes out the door.

Fortunately most people do care about the club and it's reputation.
We did the right thing getting shot of Suarez, the problem was we didn't replace him properly.

Ron,

Which there are hardly anyone. Since his exit he has been the best CF in the world. I worry the same will happen when we loose Coutinho!

Cheers for that ed, always a player on the pitch that I thought was truly world class but too much of a loose cannon. He was good to watch while he was here though.

{Ed001's Note - good to watch but a complete bell. Shame like. Talent like that should be admirable, but it is difficult to admire someone like him.}

I would be happy to wager that having Saurez in the team increased Liverpool's fan base by an astronomical amount world wide. He is an exceptional talent, and there will be people wearing Liverpool shirts now that wouldn't have been if he hadn't played for us. He might have been a bit of a tw*t but he played like his life depended on it, and quite frankly I loved that about him. The world is full of flawed genius', and for a few years, he was ours. Off the field, he is a humble guy - a breath if fresh air from all the flash Harrys about the place.

On a side note, I have never heard a bad word from him about Liverpool since he left. He seems to truly have some love for the club. People who hold hate for him should take a look at the actions of players who just didn't give a to*s, the Aquillani's of this world.

Wasn't supposed to be a rant, but am a bit pissed, sorry.
