Some right dome mungers on here. Ask yourself if you trust klopp instinct on players ir as are manager? if u do stop slating players when they have not even kicked a ball for us yet and if you trust klopp slate him nit the players that ain't even at are club yet. look at gini most of u slated him and yet been one of are best players.

Klopp's transfer dealings at Dortmund were excellent. There's absolutely no reason whatever to believe that he won't do a damn fine job at Liverpool.

2.) 04 Jun 2017 14:03:12
I think Klopp could work far more under the radar during early days at Dortmund. Now anyone he is interested in will get more attention and double or triple in price.

3.) 04 Jun 2017 14:15:03
This is not Dortmund and not the bundesliga, we're competing with 5 other clubs for players not 1, you can't compare the two, ridiculous to try.

4.) 04 Jun 2017 14:37:41
He also had a competent and experienced team of people behind the scenes. Can't exactly say he has that here.

5.) 04 Jun 2017 14:57:33
Dome Mungers? Wtf? 😂.

29 Jan 2017 00:03:54
Edo2 leandro paredes to liverpool?

mike g

{Ed002's Note - Roma has signed a replacement for Paredes (on loan with view to a permanent move) and have offered him to another club as part of a deal for someone else. That has fallen on deaf ears but they do have an offer on the table for him from elsewhere already. Liverpool have looked at him before so it would not be out of the question but I am not aware of them having declared an interest at this time.}

1.) 29 Jan 2017 07:54:33
Thanks edo2

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome Mike.}

2.) 29 Jan 2017 10:43:20
"Edo "😁 I like that.
I think Paredes is a quality player but who are we going to sell. We have a truck load of central midfielders - Lucas, Can, Wijnaldum, Hendo, Lallana, Ejaria, Grujic, Stewart off the top of my head.

3.) 29 Jan 2017 11:54:36
Ron, I suspect that Lucas and possibly even Can will move on in the summer. So yes, a midfielder is definitely being lined up with extra European games next season

4.) 29 Jan 2017 11:59:44
Lucas, can, ejaria, Stewert, grujic are all not good squad player quality. Nothing more.
We buy if we must, and move a few on in the summer. I keep seeing the eds tell us our squad is overloaded with midfielders, and with strikers, and with centre backs. but then I'm told our squad is thin, therefore it must be thin of quality. So we must add quality

5.) 29 Jan 2017 14:40:04
Depends on how much he costs. If he costs in the region of €30/ 40 million then he has to take a midfield birth but if he is in the region of €10/ 20 million then it would be quite acceptable to think of him replacing one of the squad players but there is no way Liverpool would pay circa €40 million to replace say Lucas or Stewart and the like. It just won't happen imo.

16 Feb 2015 10:33:48
eds just wondering has there been any more news on manger candidates mentioned for if or when Rodgers goes at the end of the season? I recall Ed002 saying de boer and don't rule out rafa anyone else in the rekoning? cheers

mike g

{Ed001's Note - too early to be sure right now. It all comes down to what system is finally settled on and if a DoF is brought in, who he recommends.}

1.) 16 Feb 2015 12:10:39
So the club is actually looking to replace Brendan?

{Ed001's Note - nothing is decided, that is the whole point. The review is still ongoing, it is a major undertaking to review a whole football club's operations in the Premier League era. They are international corporations in the modern era and everything is being revamped and modernised to improve Liverpool's chances of competing in the long term. The footballing side is part of that process and Rodgers will have to accept changes, at the very least.}

2.) 16 Feb 2015 12:16:32
I cnt see fsg getin rid of rodgers he's got a settled team making massive progress right now and who is better than him frank de boer? Klopp? Not at this moment

3.) 16 Feb 2015 12:23:53
Right mate, misunderstood your first post! I really hope we stick with Brendan, because in my opinion he's a great manager! Hopefully he'll accept if changes are made for the benefit of the clubs future and progress! Cheers for your reply mate!

{Ed001's Note - I would hope so, as a coach there are not many better, it is the management side he falls down on. I don't understand his desire to be a manager anyway, after all his claimed ambition is to manage Madrid or Barca, neither of which would hire a manager. They both use the head coach model.}

4.) 16 Feb 2015 12:33:32
I totally agree with your sentiments! He's a fantastic coach, especially with young talented players! That's one of the reasons I can't see FSG replacing him, with the owners youth policy!
You say that it's the management side of things that BR is failing at, what do you mean by that?

{Ed001's Note - the discussion of things that should be kept confidential in the media, the taking credit for everything good that happens while blaming others for everything that goes wrong, the long term planning for youth players.
So far he has been warned numerous times over his comments to the media and asked not to say so much. He is still continuing to open his mouth out of turn.
He takes the credit for every good performance by a player, rather than just saying it is a reward for their hard work on the training ground or similar. His praise for them is always aimed at bigging up his part in it. Long term that is not the way to make a player perform for you, a manager should be there to shield a player from flak and give them the credit for the good performances.
When players are not performing, he piles on the pressure with his comments about them, rather than looking to shield them. It makes it difficult to trust your manager when he does it every time. He needs to learn to pick and choose when to call out a player on his performance, the way Mourinho does. It should be one of those things you do very rarely, so they know when it happens that they really have stepped over a line.
The transfers had to be taken out of his hands he had made such a mess of them.
His management of young players was poor, only using them when he has to. The summer being a case in point, getting two right backs out of the club so he could loan one in. That has led to pressure to change, hence the recall of Ibe and subsequent usage of him. He is now being reminded of his promises to look to the youth first, only buying when there isn't an option there to choose.
That is what I mean by management. A head coach just gets the players playing well in the system set out for him, that is something Rodgers is excellent at. Managing a club is clearly too much for him, and that is no shame, as I personally believe that Premier League clubs are too big for a manager in the modern era.}

5.) 16 Feb 2015 12:36:36
Ed001, I don't know if excited is the right word but are you excited by this on-going review? What I mean to say is do you expect it to bear fruits in the coming season and should we as fans look forward to the changes that might/will happen with regards to the running of the club?

Thanks Ed.

{Ed001's Note - I am nervous about it to be honest. There have been too many false dawns at the club, I fear this will be another, as the kind of people that are well respected in the US are people like Klinsmann. I really hope they don't seek to consult people like that or we will be in serious trouble as he is clueless.}

6.) 16 Feb 2015 12:55:56
Okey, I see your point!
Thank you for your reply! Much appreciated!
One last question for you mate, do you reckon we'll qualify for the Champions League this season? Either through a top four finish or through winning the Europa League?

{Ed001's Note - I am going to have to say no, as I am too superstitious to say yes!}

7.) 16 Feb 2015 13:20:01
Haha okey, cheers mate :)
I feel fairly confident about reaching the Champions League to be honest! We're in good form as always during the second part of the season! But hey, I'm always over optimistic ;)

Have a great day! Thanks again for the info!

{Ed001's Note - you are welcome mate, enjoy your day and I hope you are right.}

8.) 16 Feb 2015 13:48:54
Ed really interesting insight. Have to ask tho the negative points you mentioned do you think his age is on his side and is something he will develop? Or is he too stubborn and it will be to the detriment of the club hope he'll develop. Personally would love to see him work out well for the club- but not sure if it's because I've just bought in to his blagging!

{Ed001's Note - I don't think he will learn on those, which is why I would like to see those things taken out of his hands and put in the hands of a DoF.}

9.) 16 Feb 2015 16:14:46
Who would be your ideal Dof at this moment in time ed? and do you think fsg will look to someone who adopts the same style of play as were currently utilizing?

{Ed002's Note - The director of football will not be interfering with the style of play and much would depend on who the manager is going to be. If Rodgers stays someone like ex-referee Lubos Michel might be suitable. He is getting a very good reputation at Shakhtar Donetsk.}

10.) 16 Feb 2015 18:33:29
Would Nicola Cortese be an option? Did an excellent job at Southampton and a very good negotiator, both clubs have a similar model in terms of business strategy and recruitment policy.

{Ed001's Note - he is not a DoF and he left Southampton a bit of a mess.}

11.) 16 Feb 2015 21:32:10
Well, I thought Lubos Michel works as head of the international competitions department in Donetsk, not DoF. He looks good in diplomacy, don't know much about his management skills. Why do you think Ed it would be good partnership MichelRodgers? Thanks

{Ed002's Note - I answered the question - I am not going to get in to rationalising.}

12.) 17 Feb 2015 08:02:33
Ed I seen a coach gets the players to play a system set out for them but in my opinion the coach has to pick the system

Did I take it up wrong? ? ?

{Ed001's Note - it depends on the coach and his responsibilities. At clubs Cruyff takes charge of, the head coach follows the tactics he sets out and is responsible for teaching the players how to play it. At other clubs, such as Chelsea and Man City, the head coach picks the tactics and trains the players how to play it. There is no one size fits all.}

11 Aug 2014 19:50:43
Ed002 could explain the mangla signing at city its being said they have only bought 56% of his image rights I though in England u had to own the full amount cheers

mike g

{Ed002's Note - Firstly ownership rights and not image rights are the issue that needs to be considered. You cannot have third party ownership of players playing in England. It means that if they have what is called third party owner, which might be a group of investors, might be another club, that has to be resolved before they play in England. A number of countries do not allow third party ownership, like England, and it can make transfers complicated. The registration of the player stays with the club - so, for example, the owners cannot force Benfica to sell Rodrigo, but they can control the asking price.

Markovic is a good example where the club only owned half of the player - Liverpool needed to pay for that half and the other half owned by a third party - plus some pretty steep agent and representative fees.}

07 Jul 2014 08:15:15
Ed002 u say Chelsea have first option on marcovic what is this how has it come about sorry if I may be being a little slow ha cheers

mike g

{Ed002's Note - I am pretty certain I never said those words. Benfica only own 50% of the player. There is a consideration included in the player's contract that Chelsea may buy his rights at a fixed price if a club make an offer that is acceptable to Benfica. Chelsea can opt not to do this if they so wish and the entire rights to the player could be sold on.}

1.) 07 Jul 2014 11:34:17
If chelsea bid could our bid be accepted too or would ours have to be rejected?

Would it be the players choice which club he'd want to join or would it not be in his hands?

{Ed002's Note - Done to death.}

2.) Thanks ed how does this happen though was it through another deal that they had this clause ritten in? cheers

{Ed002's Note - When he joined Benfica.}

3.) Then, if Benfica want 25 M for their share of 50% of the player's rights, does this mean that Liverpool (for example) have to pay 50 M for the full player's rights?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Anyone else think taa could be the new gerrard seems to be scoring quite a bit full of energy for the midfield role future captain dare I say.

mike g

{Ed025's Note - still very young though mike and has actually achieved very little up to now, to compare him with stevie g is ludicrous at the moment as we have seen players before who have not progressed but looked like world beaters when they were young, take jack rodwell for instance, at 17 he was touted as a future england captain yet now struggles to get on the bench for sunderland, lets see how he progresses over the next couple of seasons before we start burdening him with titles like the new gerrard mate..

1.) 10 May 2017 18:56:37
Spot on, Ed25. These comparisons need to stop. This is what has caused rift btw fans regarding Hendo. Many slate him stupidly, cos he's not like SG, as if anyone is. While others like myself do not compare him to anyone and ask that he be allowed to develop and become the best player he can be for us. Same for TAA.

Allow the kid to breathe and learn the game cos if you don't, you get the likes of Rodwell and Barkley, over-hyped with little to NO quality cos they are living up to a reputation they can not back up with their talents.

2.) 10 May 2017 18:58:44
Players like Gerrard are few and far between. It does no one any good to burden young players with these comparisons. I'd be delighted if TAA becomes a 1st team regular.

{Ed025's Note - your right andy..

3.) 10 May 2017 20:04:52
If i had a medal for you ed.

Absolutely spot on.

{Ed025's Note - cheers mate..

4.) 10 May 2017 20:38:39
Just saying the likness in terms of how sg started rb to mid scoring goals why everyone has to go off on one chill.

5.) 11 May 2017 00:05:47
Can he do it on a cold rainy night at Stoke?

{Ed007's Note - Ed025? I doubt it, at his age he's lucky if he can do it with 2 bars switched on on the fire and a Fisherman's Friend in his gub ;) Ed003's your man for outdoor deviant behaviour.....

6.) 11 May 2017 01:00:57

Speechless now haha

Cheers for the reply in a fit of giggles now for the night.

21 Mar 2017 17:24:44
Sorry but the blindness to counts is unbelievable people say we can't replace him or who with well 6 goals and 5/ 6 assits is not hard to replace at all if wood burn had played the same amount of games I bet he would have the same stats. The problem with him is he goes missing for 2 thirds of the season he's so inconsistent and if someone offers 50 mill plus this would be better spent else were on the positions we need lw st lb so for me he is very replaceable as we already have players that can replace him.

mike g

1.) 21 Mar 2017 18:06:29
The onl6 thing you worry we would replace is him and firmino. There connection is rediculous.

But is it worth 200k a week for half a season. Always a november injury and then a long wait back for him to hit form?

Not in my eyes and think we ciuld do with pace on the left anyway. Leaving lallaba and firmino in the middle.

Would love

Mane lallana costa

2.) 21 Mar 2017 18:07:57
Agree totally Mike. ain't hard to replace the way he is playing at minute.

3.) 21 Mar 2017 18:23:56
LFC player of the year 2 yrs running, yeah he's rubbish.

4.) 21 Mar 2017 18:38:30
So our best player over the last two years has an injury, struggles a bit to find his best form and now some morons (I won't call them fans) want him sold. Some people don't understand what YNWA stands for.

5.) 21 Mar 2017 18:39:33
Exactly Ron. The fickleness on here sometimes is quite extraordinary.

6.) 21 Mar 2017 19:03:53
He'll score a worldy in the next game and everyone will go back into their shells. He's having a poor patch but he's coming back from an injury and will come back stronger when he finds his form, I actually think one game a week isn't actually that beneficial for players trying to find their form, he needs as much game time as possible.

7.) 21 Mar 2017 19:34:25
This is exactly the line a lot of Liverpool fans took with Alonso in 07-08 when he picked up a couple of injuries and was out of sorts.

Same fans now describe selling him a year later as Rafa's biggest mistake. If they're being polite about it.

8.) 21 Mar 2017 19:38:57
Frankly, who are these "fans" coming on here slagging off Couts cos he's going thru a rough patch? We will stick with him in his time of distress come hell or high water cos he is one of ours and has contributed a lot to our season and his rough patch will NEVER change that. You should all be ashamed of yourselves with your disgraceful posts kicking one of our own while he's down instead of supporting him during this struggle. Pathetic!

9.) 21 Mar 2017 19:48:31
We might get 50 for him but wats to say the owners will give us it all to spend. If we want to challenge we need to keep our best players experienced players and gelled players not sell them cause they had 5 poor games. Our fans r frustrating to listen to at times.

10.) 21 Mar 2017 20:04:55
We sold Suarez and bought Lovren, Lallana and Lambert.
What a disaster that was.

Don't sell your best players unless they want to leave.

11.) 21 Mar 2017 20:26:10
I haven't seen one person yet say they want him sold. I have seen a lot of people say they wouldn't turn down a stupid offer and a few people say that he is replaceable. That is a little bit different to people saying he is a bad player who we should actively look to sell!

12.) 21 Mar 2017 20:36:25
To be fair Ron, lfc has been rubbish for 2 years so it wouldn't be hard to be player of the year.

We all know who will win it this year.

13.) 21 Mar 2017 21:07:28
Ko Lo - the usual way to progress is to keep your best players and replace the worst ones.
Selling your best players is not the path to success.

14.) 21 Mar 2017 21:25:38
Ron - don't let your optimism come in the way of judgement.

Very valid points by Ko Lo and MK.

Yes, Couts is the only world class player in our team not considering Sturridge.

However if an offer comes anywhere near 50 or 60, I don't think the club will hesitate to do business.

Also to fellow posters - please don't call fans as morons or question their love towards club just because they have a different point of view or look for reasoning.

15.) 21 Mar 2017 22:18:15
Ill put it this way he won player of the year 2 years running let's be honest not been hard to do has it wat has liverpool acheived in this time nothing and him being player of the year means nothing either. 3 games out of ten he's class the other 7 dier that's wat I see simple.

16.) 21 Mar 2017 23:11:25
I've seen loads of posts saying sell him over the past few weeks.

17.) 21 Mar 2017 23:29:13
We should get another winger/ attacker. Couts is not that effective there, far better in a midfield position. Think Iniesta.

Wouldn't mind trying our luck with Mahrez. Him on the right, Mané on the left, Bobby in the middle. Behind them Couts and Lallana/ Gini or even Hendo in a difficult game away. Mahrez would obviously add some venom at set pieces aswell.

18.) 22 Mar 2017 06:59:51
If goals is the issue then people are missing the point that he isn't meant to be a main scorer, that is being picked up because of a different problem, no consistent scorer. so him and Firminho look like they're not doing enough. Same with assists, you can only get an assist if the other guy scores. Get a striker who will score around 20 league goals a season and those 2 will look like they have a big value.

19.) 22 Mar 2017 09:01:04
Madness, whenever we lose our star players we b**** about them leaving. We have a current one and people say we should take 50 odd mil for him!? Who are going to get for 50 mil to replace him!? Why would they come to Liverpool if we were selling our best players? What guarantees do they have that they will be more effective than him? Or that they won't get injured? Forget about his goals and asssists -when he plays he gives the other team something totally different to deal with, usually assigning two players to deal with him. Teams haven't had something to worry about like him since Suarez. Keep your best players, replace the weak ones and success will usually follow.

20.) 22 Mar 2017 09:45:50
Couts is not world class. In fact i would say he is not even the best in the PL in my opinion. That would go to Silva.

21.) 22 Mar 2017 10:06:38
Couts, origi can, are all young players who can in theory improve year on year for the next 5 years.

They ain't that bad now and each have had patches showing talent that will become more consistent over time.
With TTA, ojo and Woodburn coming along after.
The future looks good.
Hopefully Gomez can step up but we really need to sign a top centre half and probably a full back.

The keeper situation needs addressing but weather it's the coach that needs changing or the keepers is open to debate.

22.) 21 Mar 2017 10:21:29
I wouldn't sell him for £100 mill. Nothing to do with the value but it will be a wrong message to players who would want to join us. You cannot convince players on a project which sells their best players every year.
It's not the value he brings to the team it's his undoubted quality. What is the actual point in securing the CL of you at ready to accept money for players like Couts and Mane?

23.) 22 Mar 2017 10:22:31
Keeping him and adding a left winger will be the step forward. Not to sell him and try all summer to replace a like to like player. I feel sorry for people who counts on Lallana and want to sell Coutinho.

What is the point in securing CL if you are not going to keep your star players?

24.) 22 Mar 2017 12:31:43
Attract good players by selling your best players. Brilliant, right? WRONG! Nonsensical argument, really. Good luck attracting good players by selling your best players. So cos Couts and Firmino (who when on form are unplayable) are having a dip in form, we should sell them. Thank heavens such "fans" on here don't run the club. We would be in the Conference with such daft thinking.

I would NEVER sell Couts nor Firmino nor any of our best players cos you need them to compete and attract other good players. Arsenal have been doing that and now look at them. And those kicking Couts and Bobbie while their down should hang their heads in shame for not supporting them in their time of need. Pathetic attitude from our "fans".

{Ed002's Note - If Coutinho goes it will because he wants to not becaase Liverpool want him to.}

04 Mar 2017 19:28:28
A much improved performance from can today hopefully he can take some confidence from that. now again don't get carried away it needs to be like this week in week out now if we play likr that and loose I can take that because everyone is giving there all.

mike g

1.) 04 Mar 2017 19:43:24
Much improved but a heck of a long way to go to challenge for the league, a top 4 spot is doable though.

11 Feb 2017 19:26:29
Now I said earlyer that I was worried with lucas tonight not cause I don't like him just though he would really struggle in defence but he was imense won every header great performance from him. Also really pleased we went back to that mid 3 of lal hen and gini all great performace from them especally gini ferminho looking back to it but let's not get carried away its only as good as your next performance hopefully weeks training in betweeen matches will help cheers.

mike g

1.) 11 Feb 2017 20:30:15
It's lovren mate, always lunging out the box into tackles we look much more confident without him.

2.) 11 Feb 2017 21:34:33
That would be the same Lovren who partnered Klavan to a clean sheet against Manchester City about 1 month ago, lerchy?

I agree whole heartedly that we need a better long term partner for Matip, but it is a bit knee jerk to basically blame all our poor defensive displays on Lovren after 1 clean sheet without him.

We have just won 2-0 against the hardest team to beat in the league (lost just twice in 24 before today) . Can we not enjoy the victory for a few hours before we descend into moaning again lol?

3.) 11 Feb 2017 23:57:07
Always someone to blame. Never someone to praise.

Noone going to just say wiji came back and partnered hendo and we were back?

Instead of it being lovren out maybe its wiji in.

29 Jan 2017 15:54:23
Edo1 think its clear now we won't sign anyone in jan mistake in my book should of happened in the first week but we move on to summer now.

so my question is wat u think we need position wise and if u don't mind wat achievable players for the positions u think we need?

Think we need 5 cb lb cm winger striker and all need to be quality the reason I said not doing in jan is a mistake is because bedding to many players at once can be destructive klopp has had three windows only used one think that's is a mistake thanks

mike g

{Ed001's Note - we don't need a lb, we need to be bedding in Juanma now. We do need a centre back, anything else is really secondary and that should be the sum total of our efforts until we have one. As for achievable, it is January, far too easy to pick who will be available in the summer.}

1.) 29 Jan 2017 17:36:25
Happy New Year Ed001 and ed002 thank you for all the hard work. How is Juanma doing and do you think he's been ready for first team next season?

{Ed002's Note - I suspect that he will still be with the U23s next season Bravesun and that Liverpool will look to bring a new left back in.}

2.) 29 Jan 2017 17:58:50
Has no one seen yarmelenko downing a vodka or two in city bars?

3.) 29 Jan 2017 18:05:25
The problem is we bought too many players who like to sit in behind the striker. Lallana and coutinho are wasted when they are stuck outwide.

Mike you are probably rite we do need all them players but we need to start adding real quality instead of paying over the odds for average players.

We have missed mane but imo we started playing poorly when lallana first went out injured.

Hopefully when European football starts up again and with us being out of all cups that will give us enough advantage to stay in the top 4. (Although god help us next year when we are playing twice a week) .

Priority has got to be a CB then a pacey winger. Sell sturridge and play firminho up top next season. I'd rather spend the budget on 2 quality players than 5 average.

On the can debate is rather he be given more time and if need be sell wijnaldum.

Lavers that's my point klopp had 3 windows and not really any spend with out goings we need top quality in everyone of those positions I mentioned then sell studge can lucas klavan moreno and any other fringe first team players and then use youth aswell then love stewart still think he should be at the base with lallana and hendo either side plus u have gruic so I would prioritise cb then winger striker lb cm in that order cm no so much cheers

5.) 29 Jan 2017 18:35:37
I agree mike he did mess up in the summer transfer market.

Priority should have been a CB a alongside matip, klaven was never going to be good enough. Now we find ourselves with another player we can't get rid off or one who leaves for peanuts.

{Ed002's Note - It was Klopp's choice. Like Karius and Grujic were his choice.}

6.) 29 Jan 2017 19:12:54
That's what I mean ed, he's had the money and spent it wrongly again.

7.) 29 Jan 2017 19:18:10
Wat i've seen grujic preseason and sore od bit from were we got him from looks a good player but needs a run in the first team when he is free from injury karius I think could turn out to be a quality keeper klavan was a mistake i've liked gini but for the money its 50/ 50 matip been excellent mane the same so 3and half out of 5 is pretty good but in the orher transfer windows we could of done more to get the positions i've mentioned sorted and also the sale of players that are no longer needed or contributing enough to match there wages.
As for klopp he has made mistakes like the 2cups team selctions not using ojo/ wilson massive errors even to see wat the can do plus we have been dead in the warter with out width and speed.
But in general I think he suits liverpool to a t but hopefully he can learn from this let's face it he has only been here just over a year and most fans would of took top four this year but who nos beat chelsea and it makes it interesting but who nos cheers

8.) 29 Jan 2017 20:12:12
Klavan was bought to replace kolo. Sakho was supposed to be matips partner but unfortunately he burnt his bridges

9.) 29 Jan 2017 20:23:04
Thanks for the update ED01

10.) 29 Jan 2017 20:53:19
Id rather we kept kolo at least he had played most of his career in the prem and knew what it was about.

11.) 29 Jan 2017 22:49:29
Noone was suggesting at Christmas that Klopp messed up in the transfer market. In fact, all his purchases were being heralded with the exception of Karius.

{Ed002's Note - Herman's Hermits.}

12.) 30 Jan 2017 05:09:54
Completely lost me there, Ed002

{Ed002's Note - You are too young the AF.}

No Milk Today?

{Ed002's Note - Right.}

14.) 30 Jan 2017 16:22:23
Spot on, Lavers. We have been paying over the odds for average players at best and adding them to the squad in high numbers over the years from previous regimes hence, Klopp found a bloated squad with majority average players hence, him trying to clean up a mess he did not create, globally. Now while all this was happening, our rivals spent their time adding good players to their squads cos well, they`ve had CL footie or EL footie all the time hence, their squads are better suited to handle the perils of the Jan footie schedule as CL and EL don`t start till Feb. This is the bigger problem.

He has trimmed down the squad a whole lot BUT the squad is at it`s bare bones at the moment. We need quality players to come into the first 11 and first team next season then, use the youngsters who are ready or thereabouts, to complete the 25 man squad. Thoughts?

15.) 30 Jan 2017 16:54:38
Klavan was bought for backup and was not expected to play week in and out as he`s doing now. Who knew that Matip`s injury would flair up again and keep him out that long or the Cameroon cockup would happen? It is really easy to do the whole hindsight genius thing but the coulda/ shoulda/ woulda nonsense in a bid to rewrite history or blame people, should stop. We make decisions based on info we have and what we can forecast and if mistakes are made, you learn from them and move on and plan better, period. The hindsight 20/ 20 thing and what could/ should have been done, is irrelevant cos it changes nothing.

16.) 30 Jan 2017 17:27:00
Klavan has not been a mistake. A squad player, with vast experience, for little money in today's market, who has done ok in most games but has had to play more than expected due to injury (Matip, Gomez) and foolishness (Sakho) .

I would love studge to smash a couple of goals before end of season. Then have an awesome preseason and not get injured once next year and with out doubt if that were to happen then he would smash 20 goals easy is this possible I hope so cause a fit studge is unplayable.

Still belive ask Southampton what they want pay it and deal with the consequences (the clubs fault anyway) then we ain't craping on a player and to an extent pay over the odds to apologise to Southampton.

Edo2 why do u think this is? Because of the people in charge or just circumstances of the players? Thanks.
