Ed002 has there been anything more than Chinese whispers regarding a possible signing of Levi Colwill in the summer or anything more substantial on an alternative Centre Back if not? TIA again.

Agree1 Disagree7

{Ed002's Note - Colwill signed a new contract and Chelsea has no plan to sell him.}

28 Apr 2024 11:54:07
I think we’d be better off going for Inacio, not massively convinced that Colwill is all that good and he’d cost a ridiculous amount given the “English Tax”.

My ideal LCB would be Bastoni personally (I know it won’t happen ed2). Just saying he’s class and would be ideal.

Agree10 Disagree0

28 Apr 2024 13:20:09
Bastoni looks a good player tbh Shaq.

Agree5 Disagree0

28 Apr 2024 15:42:35
Didn’t Klopp “upset” Sporting by trying to tap Inacio up?! At least there won’t be an approach embargo now that Amorims out the picture 🤷🏼.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Apr 2024 16:16:18
No, it was Ugarte last summer Mark. Unsettled the player and Sporting were rightly annoyed with us. Inacio has a buyout clause apparently. Just pay the clause and be done with it.

Is VVD playing right sided CB a possibility if a new left sided player comes in? Matip leaving and Konate unreliable. If we’re only signing one CB I’d keep VVD left side with a new RCB coming in.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Apr 2024 20:56:19
VVD doesn’t look like he’s got many miles left in him.

Agree4 Disagree0

29 Apr 2024 09:50:34
Who said “we’re only signing one CB” - apart from @OneKiss?

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Apr 2024 11:46:56
I wish people would remove their rose-tinted glasses when it comes to VVD. He's been decent in about 50% of games this season and average in the rest. He's almost 33 - time to move on and get him replaced. New CB and a striker who scores goals are an absolute priority for me. Plenty options for positions elsewhere in the squad.

Agree2 Disagree0

30 Apr 2024 12:16:50
He's been super in most games and, like the rest of the team less impressive the last few games. Years left still in Van Dijk. Like last week when Calvert Llewin supposedly dominated Virg nd Konate. He dominated Konate alright, i must have missed him doing it to Virg. Up until the last few weeks i think its been fairly commonly accepted Saliba and Virg were the two best CB's in the league this season. Careful what you wish for wanting him gone, our title challenge was built on him and a couple others this season.

Ed002 if I may ask?
Not entirely LFC related but could potentially impact lfc next season, do you envisage Guardiola leaving city this summer? I believe his contract is running till the summer of 2025 (I may be completely wrong on this) but how likely would you say it that Guardiola leaves this summer? Or maybe even go against what I'm saying and sign a new contract with city and stay even beyond next summer?

Thanks as always.

Agree1 Disagree10

{Ed002's Note - He has resisted a new contract so far and the plan is to leave next summer. It would be a surprise but not a shock if he walked away this summer and the club do have some thoughts on a replacement already.}

Hi, I see some people mention Ed002 opinion on Slot and I have searched but cannot find anything. Just wondered what the Eds thought about the appointment?

I am quite excited to see the new era start, I have loved the Klopp reign, but he does look like he is ready to leave.

Agree3 Disagree45

{Ed002's Note - I said he would have been my pick and he is a very good coach and good guy. It should work out well.}

27 Apr 2024 11:56:36
If he’s good enough for ed2 he’s good enough for me.

Agree18 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 12:02:02
The only worry I have is this league is unforgiving the spot light and pressure if he doesn't start well will be intense, everyone outside of liverpool will be looking for anything negative to throw at him and in reality he will need time to adjust.

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 11:48:00
Ok brilliant thanks for answering Ed002, much appreciated. Hope you are well.

Agree5 Disagree8

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

27 Apr 2024 12:10:30
I think the management know what they are doing in selecting slot. Managers get paid well to put up with the pressure I’m sure he will be fine. We have an excellent squad who need new ideas, I think people will be in for a surprise at what slot brings.

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 12:28:24
The good thing is that Slot will have time over the summer to bed in and get his ideas. He’ll also have time as well.

Agree7 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 12:56:41
He needs players and I’m not sure fsg will provide what he needs.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 16:16:26
he should get money = we had over £100m for Caicedo and Lavia and we will save wages from the constantly injured players like Matip and Thiago and selling the prima donna.

Agree2 Disagree8

{Ed002's Note - You need to stay away from the money.}

27 Apr 2024 17:52:15
Ed002-

On what do you base your preference for Slot?

What evidence do you have that he is a good guy and coach?

Agree1 Disagree21

{Ed002's Note - I have met him and found him affable and he has done well coaching.}

27 Apr 2024 18:31:00
I don’t understand where the ideas around our budgets are coming from.
We pay huge wages to Salah, Alisson, Virgil.
Macca and Darwin are probably on a lot.

Talk of £100m burning a hole in FSG’s pocket seems weird to me.

Agree7 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 17:03:49
Either Ed1 or Ed2, do you think Slot will take us back to high intensity high press football or will we further morph into another Guardiola knock-off?

Agree1 Disagree7

{Ed001's Note - probably a bit of both.}

27 Apr 2024 20:23:15
@Babbity

He likes to be high pressure when out of possession but with the ball he prefers to build play through midfield passing and generate chances via cut backs from the wings, based on what I saw the other day which was admittedly only 7 games.

This is just my view but it's a successful system but it is not much fun to warch, like guardiola there is little to no room for spontaneity and everything stems from drilling patterns of play into players.

He's far closer to pep than he is to klopp.

Agree2 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 23:10:32
@Ron, it’s the difference between, we can potentially fund a £ 100m signing versus we have £100 m funds to spend. People can either tell the difference or they can’t.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Apr 2024 08:47:46
A recommendation from Ed002 will do for me.

I hope he receives all the backing he needs - and stays true to how he wants his teams to play.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Apr 2024 09:10:09
Sorry if this has been addressed Ed002, but I was wondering if Slot will have an “input” on players?

I think you’ve said in the past that Fallows identifies players from a scouting perspective.

It’s clear in the past Klopp had a reasonable input into picking targets. Eg picking Nunez.

It seems Slot will not have as much of a say but considering he will have his own style of football he wants the squad to play, will he be able to give his views on which players in the squad are a good/ bad fit for his system?

Agree1 Disagree4

{Ed002's Note - Slot's role, assuming it is the same as offered to and rejected by Amorim, will be as Head Coach and whilst he will be consulted over signings he will initially be presented with the list of tagets Fallows, Hunter and Klopp have settled on. You can expect some changes to the list, but it will remain largey what we know now. As you say, Nunez was very much a Klopp signing Keith and perhaps we will see the same with Slot. Certainly Slot will have an input.}

I see the 'Ten Haag in disguise' have started and the well he never played in the premier league so he won't succeed.

I like how people are giving Slot a chance before judging.

Nobody knows how he's going to do.

27 Apr 2024 07:13:30
Ed2 do you see Barcelona making an offer for Diaz?

Agree1 Disagree5

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed from what I previously said.}

26 Apr 2024 23:28:06
Eds do you have any further insight to Fabrizio Romano's claim that Nunez was wanted by Chelsea last summer and indeed that's a possible transfer this summer? We know Edwards wasn't/ isn't a fan of Nunez and that this was a Klopp purchase and not based on a data-driven option that Edwards goes for? TIA.

Agree1 Disagree10

{Ed002's Note - I don't know what Romano has said but it is true that Nunez was purely a Klopp signing.}

26 Apr 2024 21:03:25
Good evening Ed’s,

Have Liverpool agreed a compensation fee with feyenoord for Arne Slot? Also do liverpool have interest in Summerville? Enjoy your weekend.

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - Yes there is agreement for Slot. I am not aware of interest in CS from Liverpool.}

27 Apr 2024 08:52:05
Thank you.

27 Apr 2024 18:20:42
Hi Ed002, thanks for your information. Just wanted to check, does the agreement with Feyenoord include coaches that Slot wants to bring with him?

Agree0 Disagree3

{Ed002's Note - No. that needs a separate resolution.#

26 Apr 2024 21:08:45
Rumours around today about Allison wanting to leave can any of the Ed's confirm this. I hope it's not true and don't think kelleher is the answer if he does go.

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 10:59:17
It's just people trying to push the narrative of a disaster scenario for Liverpool.

Allison, Salah, Nunez, Klopp, Diaz, everyone is leaving, including the This is Anfield sign and the Tea lady.

Agree7 Disagree0

27 Apr 2024 23:18:19
@hsf, Klopp aside I think one or two others you mention might well leave too. It only becomes a problem if the players are replaced either from within or by buying. We sold / let go of Keita, Milner, Fabinho, Henderson and Firmino last summer and - events catching up with the squad after Klopp’s announcement notwithstanding - we are in a very strong position compared to 89 of the other 91 teams in the Football League. It’s not the losing players that’s the problem / worry, it’s ensuring that the replacements are fit for purpose.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Apr 2024 09:17:10
At least three of those are leaving HSF?
Klopp and Salah for certain.
And almost as certain that either Diaz or Nunez will go too.
