Hi all
Iliman Ndiaye wants to join Liverpool. Everton are furious. Said he can leave to anyone but us for 75 million. Said he won’t train if he can’t leave. We are interested. Very very difficult deal to do.
Ta.

Not good enough for us, my personal view.
23 Jul 2026 14:37:38
No thank you.

Ssshh.

We approach Monaco for Akliouche?

Ironically the first pre-season friendly at Anfield is against Monaco, but whose colours will Akliouche be wearing?
22 Jul 2026 22:29:46
PSG's.
22 Jul 2026 15:14:51
LFC have made an approach for Maghnes Akliouche.

With respect to Robbo and all the itk. Appreciate the rumours you post first and foremost.
I cannot fathom how stupid we will be if we go for this Diomande transfer. Honestly if you think his agents are a problem now. If he signs, you think they'll be easy to deal with going forward and not cause trouble, they'll just suddenly be great.
I truly hope the club or guys making these decisions see that this problem with his reps will continue if we get him and could cause disruption.
I just cannot believe the club would be this silly and pursue this with this much baggage attached. I do not believe that we are interested anymore nor do I want him anywhere near the club.
If clubs have a problem with agents and reps I don't understand why they don't get together and try to change the status quo.
Of course all my own opinion on this saga. The game is truly turning into a stock market.

If he signs for more than likely a 5 or even 6 year contract and his wages are set, what is it, exactly, you think they'll be able to do?
22 Jul 2026 10:07:15
Hi everyone
Yamal was mentioned on Irish radio as a possible replacement for Mo Salah.
Thoughts on this one?

22 Jul 2026 11:22:35
If you mean Yamal Lamine, I think them presenters need drug testing! Not a hope Barca sell him, and if they did, don't expect change from £200mil!
22 Jul 2026 12:05:45
There's a less than zero chance of that happening. Yamal has far surpassed even Messi and Ronaldo's achievements at that age. And I mean he's absolutely blown them out of the water. He's going nowhere, not for any amount of money.
22 Jul 2026 14:50:38
Well, his release clause required by Spanish law is set at 1bn Euro.
If we all have a gofundme and Mr Bezos comes on board, that'll be easy work right?
24 Jul 2026 02:38:35
F*** Bazos, the friend of Epstein, would love Yamal, but not from money that comes from people like him and what he does to allow (island to Amazon workers).
21 Jul 2026 18:33:10.
I mentioned Stones as a CB option a while ago, but thought he may go abroad for a big final payday.
I think he’d be good for the youngsters to learn from - and he’s been part of a winning team under Pep.

I wouldn't disagree. I think we could and probably should be aiming for better, but that said, our last free transfer from City didn't do too bad.

Andoni has given the following injury updates from Chicago this afternoon:
Bradley, Ekitike, Leoni are big, big injuries. In terms of order, the closest one to returning is Leoni, followed by Bradley, Ekitike, who are all months away. We have Stefan and Wataru that are close to training with the group, training not fully maybe, but partially with the group (does that indicate no games at all on the USA tour, also not even used as subs?).
Regarding WC players joining the USA tour, Ryan, Florian, Isak will fly out soon, second week fully with the squad. Becker, Gakpo, VVD will train at the Axa Stadium, they will not join the tour (could that be transfer related?). Surprisingly, Andoni said VVD had played the most minutes of any Reds in the WC (Andoni misses nothing, he must have added all the playing times up?). Mac-Allister was not mentioned once by actual name or Munoz?
21 Jul 2026 23:17:55
Munoz and Mac-Allister. Andoni has just been quoted as saying they will take no part in the Newcastle game away Sunday 23 August 4.30 pm KO. They return to the Axa Training Centre Monday 10 August.
22 Jul 2026 08:13:33
AI literally said VVD has played more minutes than most in Europe, and obviously Gakpo is grieving the loss of his unborn child. It makes sense for them to train at lower intensity at the Axa. I reckon Ali will stay back as he has hamstring issues. It gives him a chance to build up and allow AI a proper look at Jaros and Marma.
22 Jul 2026 09:26:27
Pretty certain it is just the timings that will see them join the tour late. The fact that the likes of Ekitike have gone on the tour says to me that team bonding is a big thing, so players won't be staying back to train easier or nurse minor injuries.
They will travel out to the US and do those things over there as part of a squad.
21 Jul 2026 18:11:25
Reading the comments from Szoboszlai agent and saying talks started in October and it wasn’t the easiest negotiations until the last 6 weeks and it’s ramped up and become easier to complete.
I might be 2+2 and getting 10 here but it sounds like it has a lot to do with Slot going which is not surprising at all.
I think the positivity around the club married with the new training regime and a manager that actually seems to be made up to be here will be bigger than any signing we can make this summer.
Can’t wait to get my fix of the red men and this time it will be the red men at full throttle again. ????

Maybe it was made easier by the fact that Edwards and Hughes have left and are leaving, respectively?
21 Jul 2026 18:57:05
Won the most major trophy of his career with Slot.
21 Jul 2026 19:29:59
Slot had lost his way and the crowd, and therefore had to go, but we are kidding ourselves if we think that Slot was so bad that everything will simply click into place with a new manager.
Slot got a lot of things right when he won the title, so can't be the total dud he has been made out to be.
Things seem to have been adrift off the pitch with the club.
Could Hughes not have mollified Mo, rather than being bullied into letting him go on a free? Could Hughes perhaps have sped up those negotiations with Dom?
With the benefit of hindsight, were our signings last summer as strategically daft as the time when Commoli spent vast sums on Downing etc? I am not sure what the strategy is?
21 Jul 2026 19:33:24
@Florian,
True, and will not forget that, but he was used as a pawn in the team last season and was used to plug gaps when others were not fit. Hardly inspiring for a player coming in to his prime years, knowing he's the sacrificial lamb when others are out.
21 Jul 2026 20:05:41
Possibly our next captain??
21 Jul 2026 20:11:33
Also had the biggest flop of a season with Slot and spent half his time playing RB in a team that lost all faith in the manager only 3 months in.
21 Jul 2026 21:16:16
I'm sure when he wins a league with Ireola he will like him better, Chewy. ?
21 Jul 2026 21:58:20
Last summer was nothing like signing Downing etc. We have never had a summer like last summer. It was unprecedented.
It was the first time I've ever seen Liverpool go out and pay top money for best in class players. Downing was definitely not that was he? Probably the only comparison could be the 80s when we signed Barnes, Beardsley and Aldridge, but it was a very different game back then.
In fact last summer was exactly what most Liverpool fans have been crying out for for years and criticising FSG for not delivering.
Then when they do all the fans can do is criticise them for spending too much and saying they bought the wrong players.
Isak and Wirtz didn't have a great season but we didn't sign them for just one season and I am 100% sure that both will prove their worth. They are world class players.
As for Szob, I think when it became likely that Slot would be moved on, you can't blame him for waiting to see who came in before making a decision.
21 Jul 2026 10:14:46
Not sure if I'm on my own here but I'd love us to make a move for Alex Scott.
Agree2
21 Jul 2026 12:15:42
Good player, similar to Szob Im that he is a b2b type. I also think he could be effective as a 6.
21 Jul 2026 13:09:05
Yeah, couldn't agree more.
21 Jul 2026 13:14:53
He would not be effective as a number 6. Doesn't have the physicality or defensive nous. Square pegs in round holes do not work long term.
21 Jul 2026 14:04:32
Who said you could join this thread, VV, when I'm posting I only want optimism from fans. ?
21 Jul 2026 14:26:04
VV, it is clear we will not play with an outright midfield destroyer. Therefore, we need versatile and mobile midfielders, who can put a foot in but also play a bit. Alex Scott is best as a b2b, but he certainly could play the more Tyler Adams type role.
As much as fans may crave it, it doesn’t look like a Mascherano type midfielder will be signing any time soon. I think we will return to the defend by numbers through our pressing, so players like Scott could be very valuable.
21 Jul 2026 15:06:00
Think she bats for the other teams, lads, no chance.
21 Jul 2026 15:50:05
Kloppers do you mean you think he fancies the likes of Arsenal or Utd? Or are you saying we shouldn't sign him because you think he is gay? Just checking as it it ambiguous.
21 Jul 2026 16:55:29
Think he's maybe referring to Alex Scott, the female sports commentator, who is also gay, I believe.
21 Jul 2026 17:00:41
Oh that makes sense and less inflammatory to what I interpreted - I forgot about the female Alex Scott. ?
21 Jul 2026 18:30:13
Can you name one top European team that plays with a midfield 'destroyer'?
Those players are out of fashion at the moment; your deepest-lying midfielder is also expected to be able to play.
For me, Gravenberch is ideal for the role and showed it in the title-winning season.
He's brilliant at receiving the ball under pressure and creating space. Fowler only knows why Slot thought he'd be better further forward.
21 Jul 2026 19:36:31
To be fair to Slot, I think Grav only went further forward because Mac offered nothing, saving himself for Argentina's disgusting World Cup run.
That said, I think Mac was the only Argentinian not to turn his back on the Spanish celebration - so, he's not all bad.
21 Jul 2026 20:13:21
Would be an improvement on MacAllister for sure. Now that the Global Soccer Trophy is over, we might hear a bit more about his plans going forward.
21 Jul 2026 21:21:29
Riosstepover, Well, it's nonsense to say "top teams don't play with a defensive midfielder".
Bayern play with Pavlovic, who is very much a defensive midfielder.
PSG play with Joao Neves, who does the dirty work.
Madrid play with Tchouameni.
Arsenal have more defensive midfielders than you can shake a shiddy stick at.
City play with Rodri, who is simply the best centre midfielder in the world.
All the best teams play with a top class midfield anchor and we really do not have one. None of our players are remotely capable.
To carry on sitting there denying that this is a problem, or that we're so unique that we don't need one, or that somehow we're above needing one, is ridiculous and the worst kind of exceptionalism. We have a weak and pathetic group of midfielders who would get out muscled by Duncan Norville and John Inman. There's no reason to think it'll be much different from them as they're tackle shy soft lads. Everyone knows they can be bullied as none of them have any fight or physicality.
21 Jul 2026 09:21:15
Well, I know I am not in the know, but we have an academy where there are some very good players. I would think the likes of Will Wright; he is gonna be boss in my opinion. Think that’s how his name is spelled. Can’t wait to see the change of play for next year.
