I’ve been reading the itks, the wannabe itks, the supporters and the stirrers. I can’t help thinking that most of what has been said would have been entirely different if all parties concerned were face to face in the same room.
So easy to be derogatory from the safe place behind a keyboard.

Very few people know anything much in terms of daily updates, probably a few club staff, players, and agents.

Unless Richard Hughes is posting, even the genuine ITK stuff is second or third hand, and can change quite quickly.

The slightly annoying stuff is the cut and paste jobs off sites like X passed off as inside knowledge, but there's nothing that can be done to stop it.

Also, tbf, some of the news sites are reporting accurately our interest in a few players. It's just that it's slow this summer, and difficult to get deals concluded, so there's a lot of click bait as well to pad it out.

As a Bury fan with some knowledge via ex coach. We are going for Bowen to rotate with Rio down the right and bring experience.

Barcola is on and Cody would exit with left wing for Barcola and Wirtz. Barcola in end to end games and Wirtz with low block. Wirtz would be AM in an end to end game but lacks energy, strength and pace.

In for a value RB who can play CB and that's the lot.

Sticking with senior midfielders and Elliot and the Greek back in the squad. Youth players to break in more Nyoni, McConnell and Will W.

Less signing and more galvanising players who underperformed and lacked stamina last season.

YNWA and I'm liking this approach from FSG.

Ah, I am sure Bowen just signed a new deal - maybe he used interest from us to push that?

24 Jul 2026 11:40:18
Didn't Bowen just commit himself to WHU????

24 Jul 2026 14:28:28
If it's Bowen and Rio on the right and Barcola and Wirtz on the left, why did we sign Munoz?

24 Jul 2026 09:40:03
All the talk of Gakpo going if Barcola joined but wouldn’t it be better to keep Gokpo and sell Chiesa?

Won't get more than a bag of magic beans for Federico, I'm afraid.

24 Jul 2026 14:29:34
I think that we would easily get the fee that we paid back. The bigger problem is finding somebody who would be willing to pay his wages.

24 Jul 2026 14:40:05
I doubt it off an Italian team which is where he'd like to go back to.

24 Jul 2026 01:34:01
I personally respect different opinions, but it’s easy to see who know the Ins and outs and who are using AI and X as a claim to fame. But I can’t wait to see who is correct on the Diomande and Barcola rumours. My money is Carra, Fields, VGD, Ned, Robbo JBIG and the rest are all correct. We want both and different sources note that.

24 Jul 2026 11:04:29
But how do you know if they were correct or whether they just took the correct 50/50 guess? Because that's literally all it is.Ok I'm going to have a go.I say we sign both, so if Diomande and Barcola end up at LFC I'm Mystic Meg.Yippee.

23 Jul 2026 22:26:25
My sauces tell me a bid for Diomande will be going in tomorrow.

23 Jul 2026 22:36:07
Which sauce would that be, your red or brown sauce.

23 Jul 2026 23:00:17
Dave at the pub.

24 Jul 2026 08:31:09
Is it something in the smell or taste of the sauce that allows this to be known? Lol, just messing.

24 Jul 2026 11:42:47
I think it's salad cream, as it's the summertime!

23 Jul 2026 21:47:19
I have to commend every single one of you for your patience level.

Me ..

Well I think Liverpool have been an utter joke this transfer window and the pattern yet again is to trust Connor Bradley and Gomez (as if their not injury prone). These guys fit in a season should be seen as a bonus… only!

A right back should have been the target immediately in the window. The world could see that yet nothing.

It’s going to be the Guehi saga again and then later we trust the youth like Leoni who has a major injury and needs a lot of time.

I just find it mind boggling how slow and laid back the club is after we had a disastrous season and the fact the manager needs some help to balance the squad. No wonder he wants to keep Curtis lol back to right back u go mate

Jesus, we have signed two players, renewed two contracts, got Elliott and the Greek Scouse back, have a new manager who has said he wants to review this squad and yet people still moan.

24 Jul 2026 02:48:24
Bazzinga, one of those players signed we agreed the deal in January, the other one was a release clause. One of the contracts was for the third choice goalkeeper. Bringing back two loan players was zero effort and Iraola can review the squad all he likes, he can’t review a right winger because we don’t have one and he doesn’t need to review that we only have one striker and one right back probably until Christmas.

Any manager coming in would need players for those positions and these gaps aren’t a surprise, they’ve been known about for months.

24 Jul 2026 08:16:34
We don't have one striker until Christmas.
We have Isak, Gakpo and Chiesa plus academy.

24 Jul 2026 10:05:45
My argument is, we pretty much all agreed last summer that we had a very good transfer window, short of one CB (ironically Guehi, who looks diabolical in City and England's back 4, so seems we dodged a bullet anyway). Since then the only first team players to leave are Konate, Roberston, R.Williams and Salah. In reply the squad has been bolstered by Jaros, Elliott, Koumas, Tsimikas, Munoz, Ndukwe, Ndiaye and Jacquet.

Given Robbo was a 2nd choice LB and Konate was almost universally accepted to be a liability, it's clear the only real desperate issue we have is a new starting quality forward to replace Salah. Jacquet has quite literally taken Konate's shirt, and Tsimikas is already proven to be a good 2nd choice LB in a team that challenged on multiple fronts and won major trophies. Ndukwe and Ndiaye are not as exciting replacements for R.Williams as a £40m Guehi would've been, so I can understand why people might still have concerns at CB, but we do now have 6 CBs training with the first team squad. The stress for many fans (again, I get it) is that 4 of them are aged 18-21 years old.

It's a fair concern but I think people might have to accept it because I don't see us signing another CB. Jacquet and Leoni cost £95m. They're not going to be 4th and 5th choice.

It is also understandably frustrating that Leoni, Ekitike and Bradley aren't ready for the start of the season, but injuries can happen any time and good coaches deal with that by utilising their squad/academy. You can't sign players for covering 2-6 month absences.

I am really hoping we can sign upgrades at RB and DM because I think those areas might hold us back based on what I've observed last season. I'd sell Frimpong and Macca to make the space. Iraola might disagree though, and the fundamental facts of the matter are, we do have players in those positions, so it's not a shortage unless players are sold. In the meantime, you have to give Iraola the opportunity to assess the players he has inherited. He's only been working with a shadow squad for about 3 weeks, and the season is still a month away.

24 Jul 2026 12:37:12
The Fifth Element, we maybe signed him in January, but he isn't eligible to play until now, so yes he is a new signing, let's not be short sighted on that point. The club were keen enough to see the talent and ability to sign him before the market opened up and we stole a march on the competition.
We do have a right winger, both Frimpong and Elliott can play there.

As can Jones and Slob. Granted not out and out RW's, but we have plenty of cover, not to just go buy a player to appease fans, definitely around the current market.
I hate this, let's bash the club and owners, and the 'we need it now' opinion. We have an academy for a reason, let's focus on maybe using it and not just buy 100m players for each position.

23 Jul 2026 19:37:05
Coady for Djed Spence plus 10 million is this a good deal?

Agree0

23 Jul 2026 20:20:25
No way.

24 Jul 2026 09:24:48
I don't know, Bazzinga. Conor Coady is 33 now - Wrexham could do worse than to make that deal!

24 Jul 2026 12:38:07
100% Shipley, he is totally written off, might as well start claiming PIP.

23 Jul 2026 18:47:50
Not moaning, just curious.
How come teams like Chelsea and Man City seem to snap up players really quickly, like you hear the rumour one day, and it's done the next (maybe that's a bit of an exaggeration, but you get what I mean) but Liverpool's seem to drag on for weeks?

23 Jul 2026 19:47:35
Jacquet, Ekititke, Gakpo, Munoz to name a few. We've had some very good recent quick turnarounds.

23 Jul 2026 20:23:39
Because you read rumours about Liverpool transfers on here for weeks before they happen.

23 Jul 2026 23:01:49
Absolutely spot on, Shippy!

23 Jul 2026 17:36:59
Have to say I’d be all over Arnau Martinez for right back if the rumours are through. One of the best RB’s in Spain and can cover CB. Over 100 La Liga games at 23. Has played in the Champions League and with only a year left on his deal would be available for a pittance. No brainer for me.
