In the context of many people predicting a big defeat and even a 6-1 drubbing last night, the result is a very good one in isolasion. However considering the amount of simple points we have dropped recently i just can't change my mind about Slot yet, i respect the few who are backing slot and i hope they're proven right in the end too but I just feel like this season has been a huge waste ? we should have walked this league in my humble opinion.

09 Jan 2026 11:49:05
Walking the league is a bit overkill but I agree we definately should have pushed on and with the excellent summer window we should have been champions.
09 Jan 2026 20:08:38
I don't think you should change you mind on Slot Arne, it was a good performance but it doesn't erase the rubbish we had to watch against Leeds, Fulham or the many other shocking performances this season.
I just can't get on board with people criticising the performance because we apparently played for a draw. You can still want Slot replaced but acknowledge that he set the team up well and got a good performance from them in this game.
It's not enough in isolation to save him, he needs to continue the improvements and we need to be much better in the attacking third moving forward but it's only fair to acknowledge that in this game we played very well in an extremely difficult away game.
09 Jan 2026 09:13:08
With Bradley likely out for a while, and salah not back to cover right side…we only have Gomez to play rb……. Ate we going in for guehi.
Agree1
09 Jan 2026 09:29:57
Isn't he a right footed lcb who plays on the left in a back 5? Hardly going to cover RB. We have Calvin Ramsay at the club and he didn't do to bad in his cup performance. Maybe the manager can trust the youth.
09 Jan 2026 09:53:48
I suspect Ramsay he will get his final audition on Monday v Barnsley.
09 Jan 2026 11:01:45
Rsey also made of crisp, obviously I meant guehi to be a cb, and Gomez to cover rb.
09 Jan 2026 11:17:48
Who's dropping out at CB? Guehi is the captain and starting every game so if he comes in will he replace Konate?
09 Jan 2026 11:18:10
Magico, Gomez also has a biscuit body likely to crumble at any minute.
09 Jan 2026 11:33:23
Hopefully that's the plan Keegans Perm. Konate is off at the end of the season anyway so might as well start Guehi (if he comes) next to Vvd right away.
09 Jan 2026 11:40:06
Reds even more reason to get guehi in then. Obviously konate comes out, rubbish all season and head not here anyway wants a move. Guehi makes us much stronger instantly.
09 Jan 2026 12:11:35
I don't mean that as a slight at Joe, but if you're willing to give Jo Gomez a go in his secondary role despite injury issues, what is the harm in giving Ramsay a shot in his natural position.
09 Jan 2026 08:18:37
IMO we should pay the fee asked by Palace for Guehi as long as not over 40m. He is probably in this market worth about 80m and so a 40m saving is a big win. Yes a free transfer is ultimately desirable but with our position in the top 4 precarious we need reinforcement now otherwise we will not attract the other elite players needed in the summer.
How much would other posters want the club to pay for him or would they gamble on a free transfer in the summer?
Agree5
09 Jan 2026 11:43:12
I thought it was originally around 30m, if it is I'd be paying that now…. gomez won't last till end of season before getting injured once maybe twice more, konate likely to also pick an injury up. Vvd hopefully not could maybe do with a rest after a few more games.
09 Jan 2026 05:56:20
Proud of the team and Slot tonight.
They're fighting through a very tricky season and this tricky period.
It's ugly but I Hope the fans continue to fight with them.

09 Jan 2026 09:15:38
Negative play…. why wasn't Chiesa used? Playing for draws, sorry but that's what we have become under slot. Boys did well to hold off arsenal but not a single shot on target AGAIN.
09 Jan 2026 09:17:43
It was still a pretty bland performance.
Luckily Arsenal were the normal cowards they are against top teams. If they had just gone at us they probably could have got the result.
09 Jan 2026 09:38:15
@Magico Again? It was the first time in 600 matches that we failed to have a shot on target.
Whilst it is not good enough you have to consider that fact that we have no fit strikers and are still (slowly) recovering from a horrendous run of results. Arsenal on the other hand who were at home and are flying high at the top of the league, played 7 different forwards during the game and yet only managed their first shot of the second half of any kind in stoppage time. Whilst we still have a long way to go it goes to show that the current gap between us and Arsenal is far closer than the table suggests (and that may be more of a damming assessment of Arsenal than a bigging up of Liverpool)
I can also assure you that if the 2 penalty incidents were the other way around Arsenal would have had at least 1 penalty. Oh and if that is not serious foul play by Martinelli then I don't know what is. The guy should be made an example of.
09 Jan 2026 09:41:04
Have to give the lads credit for last night surely. got to say Macca, Kerkez and Konate played really well also. Hopefully we are turning the corner, results build confidence and then improve performances.
09 Jan 2026 10:25:57
She's an ugly bird but she's my bird.
There're not many that are easier on the eye, though ?.
09 Jan 2026 11:09:51
The again was meant as same rubbish different day.
09 Jan 2026 13:28:45
That mantra isn't confined to the LFC Magico.
08 Jan 2026 22:50:30
Very decent performance tonight. Kerkez did well. Frimpong too. In fact, with a bit more belief in himself, Frimpong could challenge for that right wing spot. Seems to lack a bit of confidence.
Agree5
08 Jan 2026 23:06:23
Frimpong needs to sort his final ball out.
09 Jan 2026 00:18:21
Frimpong can run alright, most of his deliveries were dirt though, and that cut back to nobody when he was clean through on goal?! he's a RB for a reason. he's not a valid long term option for the wing.
I say that as a big fan of the guy he's a great threat on that right hand side, a real nightmare for defenders but the quality of his final ball and his decision making need drastic improvement.
09 Jan 2026 01:08:49
He already has two assists this season by crossing from the right despite being out injured for the most part. I think the issue is that he didn't have anyone to cross to rather than his crossing being poor.
09 Jan 2026 01:28:48
For sure better balls in from Frimpong we could have created good opportunities.
09 Jan 2026 07:53:30
Agree Dracred
I played RB but spent most of my time getting g forward
A cross into space easiest option. We never had anyone attacking that space
You've then got to try and pick 1 maybe 2 team mates out surrounded by 6 defenders.
09 Jan 2026 09:13:49
Frimpong isn't a right back. He can fill in there, but he's either a wing back or a right sided midfielder / winger.
His final ball was poor, but as was said in the coverage of the match about Gyokeres, the way teams generally play now has completely changed the role of the centre forward so don't expect nines to be scoring lots of goals from crosses or by latching on to through balls.
Same applies with us when Mo has been playing our nine typically doesn't score many, we now have an added issue because we haven't adapted our forward play to a right footed player on that side putting crosses in, we're so used to Mo cutting in. We need either an Ekitike, or runners from midfield to benefit from this system. Last night we had Wirtz there that's all.
09 Jan 2026 09:44:18
For context here can we all remember that Saka (who the media think is the second coming) got in twice early on only to play the ball across to nobody and he had strikers (admittedly it was Gyokeres at the time) to aim for in the box.
09 Jan 2026 10:34:08
His decision making and final ball are poor at the moment, doesn't matter where the 9 is, I'm judging it purely on Frimpongs delivery. I do agree we haven't adapted to the forward line to receiving early crosses, but at the same time, I couldn't care less if Gakpo was still on the half way line, if a cross is scuffed, poorly angled, doesn't make it past the first defender, it's poor, irrespective of the receivers position.
Now he has been out for quite a while so there's leeway there of course, but there's no doubt it needs improvement, I would expect it too, because he is a quality player. I think being a little rusty from injury coupled with the pressure of a big game obviously didn't help. The guys got bags of potential and I can't wait to see him finding Hugo on a regular basis.
09 Jan 2026 11:46:53
Frimpong was in twice with his pace, and bottled it, should of gone for goal, 1 cut back for wirtz that went just behind if I recall was unlucky but he should be taking them chances on himself.
08 Jan 2026 22:48:23
Lad's Slot has to go in the summer. The more I read about Sebastian Hoeness the more I like. Take care lads YNWA.

09 Jan 2026 14:31:29
So reading about some manager makes him good enough to manage LFC really .
I suppose that is one way of hiring a manager/ coach hey Barry in Louth YNWA.

I feel sorry for Danial Sturridge tonight. He hast keen and Neville ( rat boy) either side of him.
Both digging at us. To be fair he's holding his own. Thought he was going to twat Rat boy just then.
I would have loved that. Rat Boy says it's a mystery why LFC Have been poor. Sturidge rinsed him.
I recon they've planned to wind him up.
Keen says we've been poor champions. He's correct but another cheap dig IMO
I know we get beat tonite, but just imagine if we beat them? I'd Love LOVE IT.
King Kev. Get well soon lad YNWA.

Chrissy, we held our own. To be fair, Neville was furious about Martinelli's appalling treatment of the stricken Bradley, and was surprised none of us punched the guy.
Dragging a guy around who needs a stretcher is not ok.
08 Jan 2026 22:22:38
Neville was positive towards us tonight.
09 Jan 2026 07:54:57
Saw Keane post match and I thought he was positive about what we did?
I know they are both Mancs but both will paste United if they are awful- and Keane definitely calls a spade a spade.
09 Jan 2026 10:35:21
We all call our team/ club- some more than others- but we don't like it when someone else does it; especially when they are United and look and sound like Gary Neville.
I've no problem with him hating us and I've no problem with criticism especially when it includes the word "champions".
Neville and Keane are paid to give their views.
I can take them or leave them.
08 Jan 2026 17:32:40
So, have we signed Messi yet?
Agree2
08 Jan 2026 21:00:44
No, but we are looking at his brother tidy.
09 Jan 2026 00:10:58
Bazz, Tidy takes after the wrong parent.
I'd prefer his other relatives, his Italian cousin Sloppi (first name Giuseppi) and his German cousin Kaput (first name Alles) .
Although Alles Kaput is also closely related to Joe Gomez and was allegedly fathered by Darren Anderton.
08 Jan 2026 17:12:37
Maybe were not signing anyone this window, because high ups want to consult with new manager. Whoever that be.

08 Jan 2026 17:36:36
It's only 8th January.
09 Jan 2026 10:40:56
New signings should work with the coach; new or otherwise.
We have a system. It's better to bring in transient employees to suit the system rather than changing the system to suit one transient employee.
08 Jan 2026 16:08:06
Leoni is stepping up his rehab.
He is back in the gym and the pool building back up the leg.
Still wouldn't expect to see him this season, had he been available he would have had a lot of football by now.
Agree7
09 Jan 2026 10:43:27
No chance for this season.
It makes far more sense to give him as much as possible to recuperate. He's still a kid and one for the future.
08 Jan 2026 14:34:40
Who sets the ambition of the club?
And whoever that is do they tell the players?
Cos if the aim is 4th or 5th as stated by Arne slot I know my performances will be so so cos I doubt id try as hard cos nothing really is on the like … u can still lose a few more an draw a lot and still
Get those positions
I just don't know if that aim sits well with me my expectation for lfc is always going to win the prem no matter what and these aims by slot doesn't make me want to renew my season ticket.
Agree1
08 Jan 2026 15:59:46
He's getting embarrassing now. Here's another quote. "I did not change our style but teams have changed their style against us. My football is Liverpool vs PSG. That is how I would love to have every single game but you need to have two teams to have an open game of football and not all these things [long balls and low blocks] that don't make a game of football nice.
".
08 Jan 2026 17:59:15
He's just being realistic. The ambition is to win the league every season but we are 14pts behind Arsenal and over halfway through the season so targets have to be adjusted. that's just common sense.
08 Jan 2026 18:09:19
Listened to some of his presser the man is obviously drunk. Alls I can say.
