So...
Trent is surplus at RM. He knows he got it all wrong. The only face-saving move is to Liverpool as no other mega teams are interested. RM want to avoid a Bale situation (high wages, not playing, not moving).
The outline, very, very sketchy, is: Trent repays signing on fee. Liverpool pay £10.5m. If Liverpool sell Trent on in next two years, the whole fee goes to RM. After that 50%, unless to a Spanish club, which would be 100%.

Where is this information from please?
09 Jul 2026 20:25:34
£10m? I wouldn't give them the steam off my urine for that rat.
09 Jul 2026 20:37:14
I was in Boston for the WC group games, and it came from someone im business there who has connections... He seemed credible, but I don't know if it is true.
09 Jul 2026 23:31:28
Personally I would take him back and refund to £10m, but the rest of the sell on deal makes no sense for LFC unless we and he have no intention of ever moving him on.
09 Jul 2026 23:54:18
It'd make sense, Jari, in the sense that if Trent was ever to come back I'd see him here till he retires. But apart from that it just sounds bonkers.
10 Jul 2026 01:37:15
Nonsense, Trent isn't coming back with his tail between his legs. Madrid aren't selling him for £10m, they'd want £60m. No chance anyone at the club is interested in paying 6x the amount we sold him for after he strung us along for 2 years whilst he was learning Spanish the whole time, not to mention he just spent half the season out injured.
10 Jul 2026 09:29:45
Yeah. I heard it will be officially announced by Trent in his acceptance speech when he picks up his Ballon d'Or.
10 Jul 2026 13:36:51
Nah. That ship sailed when he left for free.
09 Jul 2026 12:58:37
Its seems diamonde is back on. We have to give them ultimatum that we either sign him by 15 -20 July or it doesn't happen.
We have already seen if players miss pre season they are useless throughout the season with injuries and no form.
We are already in same situation with munoz he won't be available for pre season but at least he will have some conditioning with spain. He won't start a game so I don't think that's enough.
Players especially big big money signings have to go through a pre season to fit in and find their feet.
Iraola already has his work cut out seems like no RB or CM is joining us yet and we have no RM either. So he is inheriting a deficient squad from start.
We have to get our signings soon to give them time for adjusting and having warm legs.
I know one thing for sure - Iraola can't afford a slow start especially a slow start with lack of identity sort of football.
I feel he is being left short changed by those in charge with finding and signing players. The anticipation with iraola was very positive however if he is left hanging we won't really get the results we want and will have immense pressure 10 games in
Its awfully quite in the rumours mill regarding us and i am confident munoz at 43m is a masterpiece signing. But we still need DM and RB and probably another CM if macca leaves

What makes you think Diomande is back on?
09 Jul 2026 16:19:11
Did anyone say it was off?
09 Jul 2026 16:38:26
I don't think we should be judging Iraola on the start he makes. His track record suggests a slow start is very likely to happen as players adapt to his methods.
09 Jul 2026 17:18:42
Well the earliest he'd be available to start his pre season is the 20th going by when he was knocked out of the World Cup. And that's assuming he'd only be given three weeks off, it could be more.
09 Jul 2026 17:33:53
First time in my life I've ever heard of a deadline as a 5 day window.
09 Jul 2026 19:24:39
Not sure why he won't have a pre season unless he throws toys out of the pram. Isak did that to force the move, which cost him pre season. Most players still maintain professionalism and complete pre season whether it's with us or them. He will still get a strong baseline fitness.

Sooo Klopp to Germany and Slot to Netherlands - 2 of my 3 calls look to be coming in only 1 to go, anyone manage to put a bet on it?

Calm down there, Mystic Meg.

Flying there, Robbie, if those three come off, two of which look likely.
09 Jul 2026 14:57:45
Fingers crossed, BK, I hope you have a few bob on it.
09 Jul 2026 16:00:15
BeKind, what was your 3rd prediction?
09 Jul 2026 17:34:22
Everyone called that, literally everyone.

Kloppo is still top class ?? (from the BBC)
"If the goal is illegal, then Arsenal won't be English champions." Former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was speaking after Germany had a goal disallowed during their World Cup tie with Paraguay.
Jonathan Tah thought he had given Germany a 2-1 lead in extra time, only for the video assistant referee to intervene, with Waldemar Anton adjudged to have blocked goalkeeper Orlando Gill. It was a tactic reminiscent of one used by Arsenal last season - leading to a record 19 goals from corners as they won the Premier League.
"They've scored 60% of their goals that way," Klopp said of the Gunners - exaggerating for effect.
But what is true is there has been a clear difference in approach in the refereeing of corners at the World Cup. Wrestling seemed to be endemic towards the end of last season, with players thrown to the floor and - at times - as many as 16 camped in the six-yard box crowding the goalkeeper.
BBC Sport has been told there was a feeling at the top levels of refereeing that corner kicks had turned into a "fight scene" and this was "not real football". We have not seen the same level of skullduggery at the World Cup.

I think it depends on the intention of the player who blocks the keeper.
If Anton has run towards the keeper with the intention of blocking his ability to get to the ball (which he did in this case) and he's not attempting to play the ball himself (which he wasn't in this case) then it has to be a foul. All of this nonsense about him not having to move out of the way is just that, nonsense. He's run into the keeper's line to illegally inhibit his ability to get to the ball.
If that was anywhere else on the pitch it would be a foul. How many times do we see a winger knock the ball past a fullback, and he just steps across him to stop him getting to the ball? It's given as a foul 99% of the time.
Klopp is right about Arsenal though. They have players whose job it is to block the keeper's ability to get to the ball. These players (normally Saliba) are not attempting to play the ball themselves, so it has to be a foul. They are intentionally inhibiting the keeper's ability to play the ball without actually trying to play the ball themselves.
They are not even looking at the ball in most cases.
It doesn't just happen to the keeper either, it happens to defenders too. Declan Rice ushers defenders away from the flight of the ball without even looking at the ball himself. It's a foul.
The only other time you are allowed to block someone is if the ball is running out of play and it seems accepted that you can do whatever you want to stop someone getting around you to get to the ball. But at least in those scenarios you are close enough to the ball to be deemed in semi control of it.
Sorry, I'm waffling now, but I do feel really strongly about this, and it pees me off to hear pundits saying they don't have to move out of the way in these scenarios. Their sole purpose is to run into someone's line to block their ability to play the ball. They put themselves in the way on purpose so it clearly has to be a foul!
Sorry. Rant over.
09 Jul 2026 09:44:06
There shouldn't be attempts to "block" a player. It's called football, not blockball.
So, players should focus on the ball and all will be ok.
I do not forsee Arsenal coming close to winning the league next season, because 60% is a whole lot of goals to find in "open play".
09 Jul 2026 09:47:56
Rekon they should make it that attacking players can't enter the 6 year box until a corner kick is taken.
08 Jul 2026 16:20:58
It's a very odd summer transfer window.
Personally the guys I speak to know very little of what's happening right now.
Even the Diomande case has all gone silent.
I won't lie, I kind of like it that way.
Ta.

Cheers, Carra. Do you think that the club have managed to plug the leaks and so transfers will likely come out of nowhere, or do you think it is quiet whilst Iraola assesses what he currently has at his disposal?
08 Jul 2026 16:48:53
Cheers, Carra. Hope you're doing good.
08 Jul 2026 16:56:50
Feels like we are sleepwalking into giving a Liverpool manager another undermanned squad for a season.
08 Jul 2026 17:39:50
Thank you, Cara.
Let's pray that it goes in a good direction.
08 Jul 2026 17:56:13
The main hope is Iraola has asked for pause to be pressed while he evaluates what we’ve got. Most players will be back within the next five to ten days, which would still leave a while to conclude a few transfers.
If it isn’t that, and our business has just stalled, that’s much more of a worry, and I’d feel sorry for Iraola walking into this if that’s the case.
08 Jul 2026 19:19:32
Potassium, people said that when Slot came in too. Again the year after a big summer of transfers. I still think we'll do business, and there's plenty of time left, but we've already made our biggest signing and hopefully he can get the best out of the lads at his disposal already!
08 Jul 2026 20:58:56
I don't think we gave Slot an undermanned squad last season at all. We started the campaign with 2 quality players in each position.
Injuries, loss of form, and baffling team selection and tactics made the squad look thin, but it wasn't.

Did Levi find world peace or something? What? Why is everyone joining Tottenham?
Where the f is the money coming from?
Agree6
07 Jul 2026 19:24:16
Tottenham are loaded, they're in the top 10 most valuable clubs in the world, and their stadium pulls in huge money.
07 Jul 2026 23:23:12
Plus, Levy isn't there any more.
08 Jul 2026 04:40:31
They are in the top three for the new rules and bring in huge revenues from the stadium and deals. Plus, most deals are spread across 5-year contracts. So, before sales, it's something like £50m a season.
08 Jul 2026 18:12:20
Where has all the money come from?
Three are free transfers! Robbo, Dubravka (GK Burnley, relegated), Senesi. LFC should have hijacked this one, left-footed Andoni's centre half last season.
"Toenail" from Newcastle, Fernandes, Van Hecke centre half (£52 million) by all accounts one "Heck" of a player? Plus Romero and Van Den Ven already on the books, is VDV Anfield bound?
LFC pre-season training starts this Monday, 13 July, youngsters all returned yesterday to the AXA training ground, blood tests first!
Day of rest at the World Cup if you're still in it: resumes tomorrow night Thursday at 9:00 PM (21:00 hrs) France v Morocco ITV1,ITVX.
08 Jul 2026 18:29:54
* Stop the press*
Just had an SMS text. Andoni and all his staff were at the AXA training ground yesterday to greet all the youngsters, along with Hugo, Leoni, Jacquet, Bradley, Elliot, Frimpong, Endo, Bajcetic. All had their 1st training session, watched on by Andoni.
Google search YouTube: Now Ekitike, Bradley, Jacquet intensify 1st training session under manager Andoni Iraola, circa 10 minutes footage.

I'm pissed the US players didn't show up. As for Trump, that might have been the only thing he did that was any good for the country... which is a sad statement (and I totally disagree with him doing that).
