A brilliant post, ruined by fat fingers :- (.
02 Feb 2026 19:49:24
You have to say "differently shaped fingers".
02 Feb 2026 11:56:27
We've absolutely fk all English players in our starting 11 actually none till you bring in jones and rio who gets the odd min and Gomez is a sick note he's not a starter either. It's not great is it?

Dont really mind to be honest. Be more interested in having scousers than English. Once were winning if they're not from Liverpool they can be from Timbuktu for all i care.
02 Feb 2026 13:40:12
The home grown numbers over coming years is definitely a challenge for us.
With doubts over Bradley and Curtis futures at the club and Gomez likely moving on, we will have only Jaros, Woodman, Frimpong and McConnell, if he sticks around.
We are adding some good young players though, so perhaps not too worrying in the longer term.
Targets like Adam Wharton, Elliott Anderson, Michael Olise and Matheus Mane would help that number but those, bar Mane, are very expensive solutions.
02 Feb 2026 15:29:01
Woodman only signed a one year deal so won't be here in the summer.
02 Feb 2026 15:46:41
We have Nyoni and Rio coming through that are tipped to be good enough for England too.
02 Feb 2026 22:50:35
Leoni will also be classed as HG I believe by the time he hits 21.
Then there is Danns and Nallo, not saying either will make it but both have potential.
No reason Beck cannot be given an opportunity and was seemingly following a similar loan pattern to other less recent break throughs from the tod before
Wright also seems to be very highly rated.
02 Feb 2026 10:52:40
For all the understandable negativity around the club at the moment one thing that should provide a bit of positivity is the top young side been assembled in front of our eyes. Apart from Mama at 25,in terms of players aged 23 and under we have
Mama
Bradley
Leoni
Jaquet
Kerkez
Grav
Rio
Wirtz
Ekitike.
Another young winger and a MF to compliment Grav and we could be looking at a team to take us forward over the next few years.

We have Florian, no doubt about it. It will partly explain some of the performances this season as well. To kick on again we also need the more experienced players to lead the way and get back to their best.
02 Feb 2026 13:23:06
True Hugo, especially if I'm right when i get the feeling only Virg will be there next year. Can see Robbo, Mo and Alli all leaving this summer. We do also have the likes of Isak, Dom, Macca, Jones who are that couple of years older. didn't name chiesa and Gakpo because i think both could be gone as well.
02 Feb 2026 15:31:58
@FM I will be loathe to see Ali go. While he seems to have fallen below the previous superhuman levels now, he still is one of the better keepers around. Any replacement is going to cost another 60-70mn. Unfortunately, Mama seems unsuited to our playing style right now. I am hoping the coaches are spending a lot of time on him to change that.
02 Feb 2026 15:49:31
Yes he has Kop, his head doesn't seem in it anymore. On Mama's kicking it seriously could not be any worse than Alli's this year. The amount of times he's kicked it to an opposition attacker or just out for a throw under no pressure is scary.
02 Feb 2026 16:45:02
Quite often Ali allows one of the CBs to do his kicking, he must be carrying a serious injury, and when he does kick it's nowhere near his previous levels. I can see him going as well tbf, along with Robbo and Mo, leaving only VVD from that team.
He actually looks in pain occasionally as well. Still a good shot stopper but unless we play a higher line you don't see it in action as much.

Dear Mr Slot, did you know we are in 6th place? And Manchester United is above us. Abomination!

02 Feb 2026 10:14:02
Thanks for that Peter.
01 Feb 2026 23:39:17
Jaquet is seen as the next Saliba I believe. 1.90cm tall lots of pace and has a good passing range. Great he's chosen us over Chelsea so well-done to Hughes and co. That's Italy's top CB prospect and now Frances.

Am I right in thinking nobody predicted JJ.
I love thinking people are in the know and i like to be gullible as it makes things more interesting.
However, I totally get, that this is a rumours site but does make me question, does anyone really know what's going on.

01 Feb 2026 23:33:19
Weve been in the race for him but many thought Chelsea bound.
02 Feb 2026 00:00:09
Its the vague drama that most of these ITKs claim. Its 90% stuff that can't be proved and never a solid prediction.
I don't mind them and don't want them to stop posting but Carra is the only one who will name a player not in the news or at least make a bold claim.
But most of the others talking about the mood in camp, Slots future, Hughes personality etc have to be doing it for dopamine.
02 Feb 2026 09:08:48
Not many know anything, and a few posters have a definite focus against the coach and RH as most of their so called knowledge just involves briefing against them. If it is inside knowledge it's probably just a disgruntled player's view of the world, maybe because they're not playing or not being offered the contract they want.
We sometimes forget the owners aren't interested in these things, or the short term, unless it damages the investment. The only reason they're looking at emergency buys or loans is because of the risk we won't get top 5. If we were assured of top 5 they wouldn't bother.
02 Feb 2026 10:16:06
Ninety 95 percent garbage.
02 Feb 2026 10:24:21
He had been mentioned on here many times as being looked at to join in the summer just not that the deal would be completed today. The ITKs have spoken of the club tightening up and trying to find a mole in the last few days though so it might just be that the club managed to keep it quiet from the contacts of the ITKs. It's not like they have Hughes office bugged or anything.
The ITKs pass on the information that they get but it doesn't mean that they are privy to everything that goes on but in answer to your question, several of the ITKs said that Jacquet was being looked at to join in the summer which is exactly what it looks like will be happening.
Like you say, this is a rumours site. There are definitely some good ITKs on here (Carra has the best reputation but he is definitely not alone in providing good information) but there are also a lot of chancers making stuff up or copy and pasting from social media to try and appear as ITK for a cheap thrill and it can sometimes be difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff.
01 Feb 2026 21:28:44
All,
Not ITK and I blew my knee out some 30 years ago, so I have not smelt the grass for some time.
However, I still think I can spot a promising player. As mentioned previously, Jimenez from Bournemouth looks like he has a high ceiling, and watching Somerville in the flesh last night, so does he.
I can also see a player on the decline. Mo Salah should be no where near starting. Chased down by a 35 year old with a 3 yard head start and then that outside foot finish that goes at an impossibe angle off goal.
Refresh or go backwards.

01 Feb 2026 23:34:00
Jimenez is on loan with option to buy I believe so we should be over that one.
02 Feb 2026 10:49:44
Mo has not been great but in order to get the chance for that outside of the foot finish he outran a 21 year old.
02 Feb 2026 16:46:39
It was a weird finish, why hit it outside of the foot when you're to the right of goal. If it's the one I'm thinking of.
It was the quickest I've seen him run this season though, which is a good thing.
02 Feb 2026 17:49:13
Remember thinking that meself Shipley.
01 Feb 2026 21:27:17
A hypothetical for everyone. If the team continued to build upon the last couple of performances and finished 3rd in the league, got to semi-finals in UCL and had a meaningful FA Cup run, all with the new signings continuing to click and the football being more like we saw yesterday, would you still personally want Slot out? Interested to know where people stand on whether he could win them back over hypothetically.
TBR.

I think that would depend on whether it's down to the players simply ignoring slots tactics and playing with a decent tempo. or slot has finally woken up and realised that this slow bore football needs to quicken up (2nd half vs toon).
I'd prefer our club to give managers time to build a team but I'll admit I was in slot out when we got mauled at home by forest. It's a long way back from there. I think we'd have to be closer to 2nd with a trophy for me.
02 Feb 2026 07:04:40
Not so sure that I would want ro give Slot another season for him to implement his style. this season has not been enjoyable with those tactics.
I just don't think that Slot will change his approach, he'll want to impose his style, so its a no from me.
02 Feb 2026 10:17:33
Wins a trophy and its very hard to sack him.
02 Feb 2026 11:42:46
BootRoom - 3rd in league and 2 good cup runs would in my opinion be enough for a lot of people to want him to stay and on those returns he'd probably deserve it as well including his title win from last season!
I'm not sure myself about Arne but the clamour for the glamour name in Alonso could well be clouding peoples judgment?
People who are old enough - I'm one of them- can remember when Paisley took over from Shanks. First season he did win the Eufa cup but the football was or could be a bit dour as well but he never had the intense pressure of CL qualification every season so could build his squads - 76 / 77 onwards was our period of total domination.
Next season he'll have the benefit of this seasons big buys settled in plus some more reinforcements in midfield and at the back.
02 Feb 2026 14:23:57
Interesting thoughts Bristol. After the clamour for Arne to go there have been a few more goals to cheer and glimmers of hope in the last week.
While Xabi may well still come in in the summer, and that may be the best thing, we're actually building a good young squad who can kick on.
Theres still a lot to play for, if we go further in the CL and get top 5, and playsome better stuff along the way who's to say Arne and his staff haven't learnt and will be better for it next season.
02 Feb 2026 15:21:30
Yep agree Hugo
I've got my trousers snagged right on top the fence and can't decide which way to fall!
I was tipping to the Alonso side after the Bournemouth game!
01 Feb 2026 20:19:55
Hughes and Edward's strike again. Yes this Sunderland stunk of Steven caulker but we do we some RB and CB. can't be playing Dom at RB until frimpong is back it's ridiculous.
Cant wait for Thursday night football next season.

Not signing the Dutch lad during the final hours of this transfer window in isolation is not too disappointing!
However not signing any reinforcements for Arne this month somewhat contradicts the media narrative that Slot is fully supported!?

Geertruida LFC move off! Not sure it was ever on to be honest!? Would of been a useful stopgap for the remainder of the season!
