I have some ITK info. Slot has been smoking his hair products and this has led to complete loss of sanity.

What's going on you beautiful lot. Last game I actually watched was the one before we smashed the toons, yes it's been that long.

No idea what goes on inside Slot's head! But he's blown a huge chance at one of the world's biggest clubs.

He's a Dutch maniac and needs sacking now this second šŸ˜‚ He needed sacking a long time ago and I can't believe any player is still backing him! Or fan.

So what's the plan people? Surely he is gone.

I just couldn't put my eyes through watching anymore of whatever it is they are doing. Bring back Hodgson or Brenda.

Hate to say I told you so!

I wonder if a conversation had taken place regards squad pre season. We're trying to gdt best in class at young ages, going to take couple of windows. Maybe they feel they let slot down now. When transfer window closed I was disappointed. Could see clear as day (this isn't hind sight) we were a slower team going forward, 2 nr. 9s no pace our wide which helps Wirtz with little more space and even defensively teams no we can't counter or transition quick enough so set pieces they could push a little more. No pace kills us. In defence any weakness will be at least twice as bad as teams really do go after you now. Konate always going to be targeted. I thought Salah would have a had season (maybe different reasons) last year amazing. Numbers record breaking. But general play he didn't press, get back much, non existent but he works grab goal and assist.

I thought adding Wirtz, Eketeke and Isak would take alot off Salah leaving just general play. He was slowing up last year. That's just age.
Can't play 2 slow wingers like Maccca and Wirtz in same midfield.
Yes a paid out 480m ish but recouped 300 ish. Arsenal recoup 200m out of billion over last few years.
Meaning we lose players and others seem to build.
Doesn't excuse slot as his Motivational skills and way he sees the game with possession etc. controlling games is nonsense and I do think he needs to go. But just maybe they thought it would be a hard season maybe not struggle top 5 but would have its issues. Just get cbs who are good on th ball and not clumbsy!
Apologies, havnt really said anything of note buy more cathartic for me!

We won’t get CL, then we will get the ā€œbudget has been severely cutā€ due to failure to land it!
This is going to get messy!

It's still doable, Chelsea are a point behind, they have City and United next, and have to play us and Tottenham in their final 3 games. It's going to be very tough for them to get results.

Villa are 5 points ahead, and have the easiest run in, but have to play us and City in their last 2. Luckily enough, we're not the only ones in shocking form.

Trouble is for us though, Chewy, at this stage of the season, when margins are so tight, every tiny advantage helps.

Chelsea putting 7 past Port Vale is a meaningful result in the way that they might just have played themselves into a bit of form and come out of a horrid run of results?
Villa also had a decent 3 points & performance last time out.

We've 1 point out of 9 in games we could & should have got at least 7 points, and nye on wrapped up 4th or 5th spot!

Unforgivable state of affairs.

So slot putting all on Salah again. Honestly the guy is a unbelievable.
Starts saying he didn't want to point at any individuals and then points out that Salah has had loads of chances this season and missed them, which may be true but the whole team has underperformed hugely, their fitness levels are shocking and their confidence is shot, I would call out the coaching staff for those issues

"No, I wouldn't like to point out to individuals after a loss like this or after a disappointing season that we are having. I think it's about the team. Mo [Salah] had a few good chances, which is always important because you want players like him to get chances, and I think that's what in general we did this season, getting him or other players in good positions. Unfortunately, if you look at not only today but the whole season, the amount of goals we scored is far too low for the amount of chances we created, but definitely for the Liverpool standard. ".

06 Apr 2026 14:42:59
I'd be more concerned about the amount of goals we concede and the cheap way we go about it.

3

06 Apr 2026 15:34:21
He's right, our finishing has been diabolical all season across the whole team, we've created enough chances to win many more games than we have.

Not clinical in one box and clumsy in the other sums it up mostly, but losing belief and folding during games is the most worrying part of all this for me.

I think everyone should watch Rory Jennings on YouTube, brilliant perspective on the match.

06 Apr 2026 15:24:05
Brilliant perspective and Rory Jennings being placed in the same sentence? My brain does not compute.

06 Apr 2026 16:03:46
Rory will always be "the bloke who said Haaland would be a flop" and "the lad who claimed nobody over the age of 12 should wear a football shirt and anybody who does is playing fancy dress". He's nothing more than a fool who loves the sound of his own voice, complete and utter twat.

Just a theory but I reckon slot gets the PSG games as it’s all he’s ever gone on about.

Get smashed over two legs then Ciao.

With a slap from Fulham between for a classic 1-1. 94min equaliser by Harry Wilson after our defence is ripped to bits from an over the top ball.

I don't even care about the Champions League anymore. I'm just too worried about the League for the sake of next season and the future. I've already accepted this season is a write-off.

Agreed Babbity, the Champions League is just a distraction at this point. Better chance of winning the EuroMillions.

Hi

So question. when we probably lose to PSG. and IF we go 1 nil down to Fulham on Saturday. not saying we lose to Fulham. but good chance we concede first.

At what point do the anfield masses start to turn. as in the Kop. Everyone looks to the top for inspiration. if it turns and sings for Gerrard. what do we think the reaction will be from players or the spread sheet suits.

I've been to anfield a fair few times. the worse football and form for one of my games was Houllier near the end. the fans still supported. and all they kept singing was to shoot when we were in a position to do so. The other time was benitez near the end. and the crowd sang attack attack attack. by no means is this toxic. but these are my only. memories of the anfield crowd showing its unhappiness towards the team.
I wasn't able to get tickets for any Hodgson or Rodgers games, but did a fair few Klopp games.

Any match goers know of groups that intend and plan on action on Saturday? Or will they likely wait to the following home game if we are eoit of CL and behind again.

Obviously local match going fans are very different than the travelling fans. they live in the city so are more in line of the mood and feeling of the city. not saying travelling fans are any less of fans.

I don't know the answer to your question, but what I will say is those were very different eras.

I think fans were appreciative of where the club, players and finances were at the respective times, so they were a lot more patient with Houllier, Rafa and Rodgers.

I only went to one Hodgson game. Towards the end, fans were generally very vocal about wanting Hodgson out. There was graffiti near the stadium and I think there were chants for Kenny during games.

It did get a bit ugly.

The Slot situation is strange in comparison because he did win the League and we can still qualify for the Champions League. But he has much better players and had significantly more money to spend than any of the aforementioned managers.

I can't speak for everyone, but for me, he, Hughes and Edwards are blowing the position I've waited my entire life for the club to be in.

Slot should have been sacked after either of the PSV or Forest games. It was obvious then there was a problem, and that problem has been allowed to persist & fester to the point that the season is over. All those who said he deserved a chance to put it right or that this was a "transition season", how's that working out?

06 Apr 2026 12:07:15
Very well put, Babbity. Couldn't agree more.

1

06 Apr 2026 12:30:42
Your last sentence says it all, Babbity, and it's unfortunately true. It's going to take immense work to rectify the entire situation within the club. FSG need to be very decisive with this come season end.

Expecting a difficult game at the weekend, but a close one, so I don't think it will be a major turning point for supporters. Can't say the same for the next match. I expect a line to be drawn after the Everton game, if we don't get a result in the derby and then go on to struggle against Palace, I can see things at Anfield getting ugly very quickly.

I thing is absolutely clear over the last 3 weeks.
The ITKs are not in the know.
No mention of Salah and Slot is still here.
No one knows what is really or going to happen.
Edwards and Hughes don't even know what is happening so how can anyone else.
What we all know is that we are rubbish!

6

06 Apr 2026 07:33:36
Not quite accurate that..

One of the ITK posted about Salah just after it happened ... Not their fault it gets lost in all the replies or new threads...

What have they posted that hasn't happened ... They said meetings have happened and Slot is here til end of season.

Did I sleep through the remaining games... good chance of that at the moment.. but the season is still going on, yes .. if he starts in the job in August .. come back and have a gripe then ...

You were told he wanted out last summer, but that was laughed out of here. You were told around December, after his rant, he wanted out of here. The 2 people who said both of these said he will leave in the summer.

I know because I was one of them, not our fault, most only believe Carra. šŸ™„šŸ˜‚

It's a rumours site, Molby. I don't think anyone has ever suggested they know everything 100%. The ITK tag has been added by readers, not the posters themselves.

1

06 Apr 2026 16:23:54
It's a rumours site, mate, take everything with a pinch of salt, and a punch of sugar. ITK's are only relaying info heard through the grapevine. They can't guarantee anything, nobody can. Most of the time, the info they share is little more than an educated guess or personal opinion from somebody who's in, around or close to club.

Nobody really knows what goes on behind closed doors. No need to be hitting out at people doing what they can.

Certainly looks the case that Slot's lost a large part of the dressing room. Surely keeping him there just makes things worse for him and everyone else. Looks like stubbornness and egos of those above him.
Dreading the PSG game. We could be in for a proper slapping.

Just hope we can somehow keep the score down to give us some kind of chance at Anfield. I know the ITKs are all saying that he won't be gone until the end of the season, but is it not possible that Werner or Henry could jump in, have him gone early?

05 Apr 2026 19:06:26
I certainly hope so, Eli, but honestly I reckon it can only come down to a balance of money making. If we sack Slot now we have to pay him off until the end of the 26/27 season. Bit of the agreement is there for him to leave mutually in the summer, it might retain his reputation and save us money, win for both.
Balance that out against the money from CL qualification. Whilst our form is dreadful, there is still a reasonable chance we finish top 5 whilst keeping Slot in place.

Thus, a on balance of imagine Hughes and co reckon keeping Slot is the best chance of making/retaining the most amount of money.
Almost no point in changing now. Had we been miles off it at the halfway stage, I reckon they would have changed it up, but they stuck instead of twisting and now they need to hope it pays off.
Either way, massive changes incoming this summer, at least I really hope so.

Pet hate of mine that saying "he's lost the dressing room". Im not even talking about Slot. I mean, when I hear it been said about Any manager. To me, it just gives players carte blanche to put in brutal performances and face no repercussions. And Im not naive, I know the way football goes, but it just has never sat easy with me.

06 Apr 2026 02:26:08
100% Ekitike, he lost it back in November, it's been clear as day for months, it's just sad the club refused to address it, we could have saved this season months ago.

Westwood, Whilst I've been more critical of others when it comes to FSG and money, I don't think it's the reason for not sacking Slot.

His severance package can't be worth more than 10 million, missing out on the Champions League will cost us something in the region of £120 million.

Florian, whether you like it or not, losing the dressing room is very real and in this case it happened months ago.

1

06 Apr 2026 07:50:07
Pure guess work either way. Obviously, no-one knows, but what other practical reasons would there be to keeping him now? Yeah, his severance might be low in comparison, but it's still £10m you'd rather keep. What if you pay it off, and an interim also doesn't get CL? Then you've lost on both fronts.

It's still possible to win on both.
Either way, he should have gone in 2025. Going to be a tense end to the season as whoever comes in is going to need to start all over again.

Not wanting to admit failure is probably a big factor, Westwood, for Hughes and Edwards,

From the board perspective, it could well be that the director of football is on his way at the end of the season. If that’s the case, why would the board let him decide anything right now in terms of things like coaching appointments or future transfers? If it’s true Richard Hughes is going, I’m surprised he hasn’t been put on gardening leave.

It felt, with the January business, or lack of, that we were in a standstill. I’ve only seen that in business when you’re in M&A territory or when there’s a strategic review going on, and there are likely to be changes at board or senior level. These guys are hedge funders, so they’re not bothered by short term bumps, they’re looking at the investment long term.

Very true overkill, I've maintained for years that FSG's main goal is continued revenue growth. Trophies are essentially a bonus. They know that staying competitive in the top 4 and bagging the odd title/cup win is more than enough to maintain that growth.
