Cant imagine the meltdown that is going to happen here when none of the barella or jude happening. Instead we end up with keita signing contract extension and milner singing another one year contract extension.

That’s cause for a meltdown
When everyone can see how all teams improve with some investment - everyone has caught up and quite frankly have better players than the two u mention.

What I'm not enjoying are your posts. You are a joke with some of your posts. You ain't a supporter, you are beginning to look like a troll. Give it a rest. Everyone is bored to tears with your negativity.

I’m not certain there’s anything to be really positive about at the moment. That was a horrific performance today. Please enlighten me as to where the positives were in being absolutely outplayed on our own patch? Or in fact the performances so far this season? Bar the game against Bournemouth we’ve been awful in pretty much every game.

I am a village idiot but I could see this coming for the last 3 years without strengthening our weaknesses . We obviously have done well but without out clever and serious action in the transfer market we are always a transfer window away from being caught up because teams will spend 100 _ 250 million . Tactics need to be spoke about more because we seem to only have 1 .

Turbo " Top Reds " defending a p. poor performance from a team that just can't be arsed anymore. Nothing to defend, everyone's entitled to an opinion.

Positives
- last season corresponding fixture was 2-2 so no points lost in comparison
- we came back from 0-2 down against a side in form when our confidence is already low showing guts and determination
- Bobby Firmino and Allison were awesome and Diaz
- no new injuries
- no dodgy VAR decisions and no excuses from Klopp in post match interview
- no one can blame Gomez for 3 goals conceded.
- we had our so called best midfield out which was again overrun so there can now be no doubt in klopps mind we need a new midfield.

How dare Brighton be a good football team.

how dare they come to anfield and play well.

Don’t they realise they have to let us do what we want because we are Liverpool and we have to batter everybody every week.

Honestly, some of you lot. Put the toys back in the pram and give your heads a wobble. It’s embarrassing.

14.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 18:58:19
We're not battering anyone, in any week, that's the problem.

15.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 19:22:09
It’s not acceptable to be playing the way we are and dropping all the points we are. How long can we keep saying stop being negative and throwing your toys out the pram? Looking back on last season there was a couple of games we dropped points when we really shouldn’t have and lost the league. Now we’re struggling to get any.

Well said Wassa, Brighton aren't exactly Bournemouth are they, they're a hard decent side, with a new manager to give them that bounce, most managers bring.

01 Oct 2022 19:49:16
Ok so Brighton were fantastic got to give em that. Trent and Hendo worst players on the pitch and bringing on Milner is never a good thing he should hang up his boots. I cannot believe I once thought Trent was going to hit Cafu or Zanneti levels he never will. This result now means I will be hoping City batter Utd tomorrow as we are no longer any where near them on any level.

19.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 19:46:42
I guess it depends on what your ambitions are, do you think we should be competing in the top four or is mid table mediocrity more your thing. If it’s the latter then fill your boots with todays performance. We were shockingly bad and no amount of “we showed character to come back” makes up for the poor midfield and poor defensive mistakes that gifted Brighton a point.

20.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 19:51:49
did anyone see Brighton do anything special that we weren't defensively at fault for?
They may be up the table, but they were nothing special.

“It’s not acceptable to be playing the way we are and dropping all the points we are. How long can we keep saying stop being negative and throwing your toys out the pram”

What on earth do you mean it’s not acceptable? What god given right do we have to be unbelievable every year? The only time it’s not acceptable is a lack of effort and that certainly wasn’t the issue today.

Every football club and every squad has peaks and troughs. Whether that be form or just the natural evolution of a side. Some peaks and troughs last longer than others.

What’s the worse case scenario? Maybe too much of the squad are past their peak and so we are just a bit crap. I don’t believe that at all but go with me. If it was? So what? That’s football. That’s part of being a fan. Maybe we have been spoilt over the last few years and forgotten that part of the game.

22.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 20:23:17
It seems like we can't criticise the team these days no matter how bad they play.

23.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 20:34:36
The performances this season haven’t been acceptable to watch as a fan. The lack of effort is frustrating to watch. There’s nothing worse than seek your players jogging back or not making the effort to block. Misplacing passes they shouldn’t be at their level.
Or would you disagree? What was the issue today?

24.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 22:33:35
Hailstones we have lost once in 26 league games, your point is?

25.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 23:06:07
Mighty reds it is not normal for a top side to be going behind at such an alarming rate because straight away we are under pressure and also it becomes a mental issues as the players are just waiting for it to happen .

26.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 23:11:08
Was travelling to Turkey for a week lads so missed the game. we're we really bad? Did nunez play? What is going on? Clearly lack of investment is making is stail.

27.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 23:18:03
But that's just it isn't it, its a mental thing that's going on at the moment. Whether its mental fatigue or cockiness these players havnt physically or technically become bad players since last June. Its how quick they snap themselves outa it, there confidence seems to be on the floor at the moment especially Trent. Not surprising with all the negative press around him with us and England.

28.) 01 Oct 2022
01 Oct 2022 23:27:59
I’d love to know where these ‘weak areas’ of the squad are beyond strengthening our depth in midfield. I’m not being positive at all, we’re absolutely cack, but you can’t just keep blaming it on a lack of investment. We HAVE invested over the last few years, and just because we’re a midfielder or two short it doesn’t excuse or explain how bad some of our other players have been, or indeed the tactics implemented by the management for that matter.

I’ve asked a million times with no logically sound rebuttal being out to me in response, so i’ll ask again. How does a Jude Bellingham or a Barella improve the diabolical performances of Trent, van Dijk or Fabinho out there today? 3 players i’m sure nobody would dare argue require upgrading on with heavy investment.

I feel like I must be too dumb to understand, so somebody please help me.

29.) 01 Oct 2022

Agreed hailstones but what was more concerning today was when we went ahead it always felt that they were just as likely to get the next goal.

“ Oh man, look at them cavemen go”

We didn’t win, we didn’t play anywhere near our best, we haven’t played well for most of the season, so far. We’re like an engine that misfiring. Every one can see that. It doesn’t mean we are a bad team, we are a good team playing poorly not helped by key players being out of form / lacking confidence.

Time to stop worrying about winning competitions and ‘catching Citeh’ and focus on getting behind the team. The players are the players we have til January, and probably for the season.

Choice is, do you want to bring on a heart attack by fretting and moaning, saying the same thing over and over again in the useless hope that it might change something or do you want to try and get some enjoyment out of the game - rhetorical question btw.

@KizLFC, serious question. Who said everybody is entitled to an opinion? I think you’ll find that it’s not true (as a start just ask women in Afghanistan) . It seems such a shame that people who are allowed to have an opinion seem to want to waste it by repeating the same unfounded nonsense over and over again. Just my opinion, of course.

For a few transfer windows, the glaring shortcomings in midfield have not been addressed:
Keita, Ox, Jones - injury prone/ not good enough.
Henderson, Milner - injury prone/ coming to end of top level playing career.
Fabinho - injury prone/ needs a break
Thiago - fantastic on his day/ injury prone.
I know we have Carvalho/ Elliot, but these are inexperienced.
We should have bought an experienced top-level player. Yes, the exact players we may have been after may not have been affordable/ available, but there must have been someone who would have improved our midfield.

As for TAA, I think he CBA - once the ball goes past him towards our own goal, he casually strolls back.

32.) 02 Oct 2022
02 Oct 2022 00:31:42
AW. While Bellingham and Barella have nothing to do with TAA, VVD and Fabinho's positions, all I will say is that confidence (or lack of) is infectious in a team and this team doesn't have nearly enough right now. It's not just those 3 either. Look at Salah. He's missing shots he would have scored with his eyes closed, in earlier seasons. Even a a usually reliable Tsimikas looks out of sorts now. For me it's just a lack of confidence that the team is not able to shake off. I also think there's a need to relook tactics and strategies - or more precisely, tweak them. I know tweaking is done for each game, but it's not translating on to the field. Klopp has to do something, like throw something new or unusual at teams so that we get that slight advantage to go ahead in games instead of chasing teams after getting behind on the score line. We have the talent to try new things, it's just the will to try them (has to come from Klopp and the coaches) is not there. Maybe throw in more of the helter-skelter rock and roll football from previous years? I have no idea. We are completely predictable in this "possession based" slow football we are playing.

Klopp also seems to have decided that he needs either Hendo or Milner on the field at all times. I don't agree with him on this. When do we see Arthur in action? Why was he taken on if Milner is the chosen substitute to come on? If Diaz did not start because of international duty, why was Jota not put in on the left ahead of Carvalho? Carvalho could have come in in the second half (Jota had international duty too) . And Nunez could have come in much earlier for Firmino. If Arthur is not ready, then for me, Carvalho and Elliott are just as not ready. I don't question their talent. It really feels like Klopp did not want Arthur at all, and his arm was twisted into taking him.

When watching the team you get the feeling that several players are just forcing it, over playing it. Trying too hard. TAA is the most obvious one for me. And it's easy to see why, given all the distraction and commotion about him. Why is Klopp not trying the old tactic of TAA going up further and Salah cutting in earlier towards the center? I don't question Klopp's tactic of having TAA in midfield for most of the game because theoretically it's supposed to help when we are frequently outnumbered by teams playing 4 or 5 midfielders. The point is, is he more effective in midfield than in defense? At this time, clearly not. To me Ramsay is not a solution. I'd rather tell TAA to play further back and have Hendo and/ or Elliott find ways to get the ball forward for Salah and Firmino.

The midfield is actually paying the price for carrying players like Keita, Ox and Jones who simply don't make a contribution and are clearly ineffective as squad members. Therefore having to depend on players like Milner. I'm no football expert or manager, but anyone will tell you that this particular situation has been managed very poorly. And we see why teams like ManC and Chelsea are more effective in player management. They make mistakes too in buying players, just like everybody else. But they cut their losses and move on. Whether it's a 10 million or 100 million player. We dilly dally with trying to recoup investment, and agonize over the implications of selling at a loss and God knows what else.

33.) 02 Oct 2022
02 Oct 2022 04:02:04
Did no one else think it was good we came back from 2-0 down to take a lead? City did that no long at home to Newcastle or someone. Then we dropped the goal so Obvs not great.

34.) 02 Oct 2022
02 Oct 2022 07:50:55
At the end of the day, this is football. The team has lost confidence in its own abilities right now. That’s it, imo. Nothing about signings, investment that coulda/ shoulda/ woulda happened and all that mess. Just look at the high amount of poor individual performances we are having every week, for starters. What top signing is going to help you with that. That player (regardless of talent) will likely drown in it as well. Our confidence is shot to bits and this is where Klopp needs to go earn his wages and sort it out.
