Tchouameni, lots of sources saying we want the lad and are favourites to sign him. I know you said no bid yet eds but has anything changed? Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Aurelien Tchouameni (DM/CM) Juventus, Real Madrid and Chelsea have a declared an interest in the player and have held discussions with Monaco. However, after signing Zakaria and being close to signing another midfield player, Juventus can now be discounted as they look to other lower-price midfield options to cover departures, with Monaco's financial demands being seen as significant. Real Madrid opted for Camavinga last summer and have yet to realistically exploit him - and they will concentrate on other priorities but cannot be discounted as Casemiro might leave in the summer - but again, they are smarting at the asking price and have asked Monaco to consider a deposit to secure him for a transfer next summer at an increased price. Monaco see that as a loan to buy and it does not suit them. The interest from Anceslotti to have both players in his midfield has to be balanced against other transfers, and there is a good chance he may not be coach next season. Real Madrid would almost certainly look to also including one or more players in any deal - and they may opt to push for Pogba instead - but don't discount them PSG need to make significant changes to their aging midfield and have spoken with his agent, although not yet Monaco. Again, I would not discount them but they have others in mind as well. Chelsea had a creative solution in mind that would suit both clubs and will likely push for a deal. I would not rule them out. Manchester City have a list of potential Fernandinho replacements, including Tchouameni. Other clubs including Manchester United, Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund have looked at him and spoken with his agent, but have not declared an interest to Monaco or they have preferred midfield targets at this time. Monaco have told clubs that they are not looking to sell for less than €100M but realistically it will be less than that. For Liverpool it would be a pretty much like-for-like replacement for Fabinho in midfield - but they are not looking to move him on and whilst speaking with his agent, have not spoken to Monaco just yet. Barcelona would be priced out of a deal unless players would be taken in exchange as they have other plans for their money this coming summer. It is difficult to imagine any side paying the asking price. Monaco have said they won't accept a player exchange but the player has made it clear wants to move to Real Madrid but that may not be possible for cash.}

1.) 11 May 2022 17:19:17
Fantastically detailed info. Thanks.

2.) 11 May 2022 17:32:13
Thanks ed2. Appreciate it.

3.) 11 May 2022 17:43:40
Has anybody seen him play? Who is he similar to?

4.) 11 May 2022 18:32:52
Physically he reminds me of Pogba with the tall lanky frame and deceptive slow stride. Tackling he reminds me of Fabinho; loves to tackle from the side or behind. Drives the ball forward like Hendo and Thiago with accurate long passes. Your standard box to box midfielder. I'd like to see him fill out that frame more, because the EPL is a physically demanding league to play in.

5.) 11 May 2022 21:08:50
To my mind he’s the perfect midfielder for how we play, he works hard, passes well, presses, tackles and will only keep getting better.

6.) 12 May 2022 05:59:28
Whilst he would provide back up for Fabinho, i don't believe that he is being bought for that purpose. A player with that talent is not coming in to sit on the bench, on the contrary he is being brought in to be a starter. It is Hendo and Naby's places who are under threat from this lad. The fact that he can play as DM is a bonus.

7.) 12 May 2022 09:52:21
Spaceman? Are you saying naby has a place? Only place he has is on the transfer market mate.

8.) 12 May 2022 11:57:57
From the point of view of back-up for (key) players we really don’t have anybody to cover for Fabs for an extended period. Apart from Fabs the nearest we have to a fit for DM is Tyler Morton, who is still a good way off being ready.

If the front five remain I’d say a DM (even if it’s a back-up player is a priority for us.

9.) 12 May 2022 12:29:57
He would play with Fab, not in place of.

10.) 12 May 2022 12:38:43
I hope Klopp insisted on an above average spend for his final years from FSG. If they want to keep abreast with City, who could go up another level once Shrek arrives, we need to be seriously on point in the TM.

11.) 12 May 2022 14:11:46
Tchouameni is more than just a defensive midfielder as he’s also capable of playing box to box. I think he’d be perfect for us as he puts a shift in defensively and has a very good range of passing.

12.) 12 May 2022 19:35:34
And can bang in a few long rangers too. He is ideal to the total football style Klopp demands.

13.) 13 May 2022 03:18:52
@Lancaster Red, what even if Fabs was injured? Which was the point I was making.

14.) 13 May 2022 10:08:50
He is one of the most combative midfielders around, able to marry high athletism (defending intensity, 80 out of 99) with good timing and match reading intelligence (ball recoveries and interceptions, 85 out of 99).
His high scores in aerial duels quantity and defending impact suggest he is not only a busy holding midfielder but a successful one too.
Tchouameni can contribute strongly to his team’s attack and make late arrivals into the penalty area and score goals (that’s all the good scores in blue) .
Tchouameni is a talented off-the-ball defender and a promising in-possession passer. Plus, he has an eye for a goal. He is as close to the “do a bit of everything” midfield archetype that former United players talk about in the modern game. He is unlikely to stay that way forever but he is young enough, and with enough promise in multiple subjects, to suggest he can be any type of midfield player that he chooses to be.

15.) 13 May 2022 12:53:21
@WD no i was replying to the suggestion he would be a like for like replacement for Fab from the Ed's Info, think he would be a powerhouse in our midfield and the exact opposite of Keita, who i can't bare to see in the Reds line up next year.

16.) 13 May 2022 13:08:29
Never seen the lad play but if everything said on here about him. sounds perfect to me.

03 Apr 2022 08:31:29
Sounds like salah is going to sign his new contract! Eds, heard anything? Hopefully it gets done and his form comes back!

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything just yet.}

1.) 03 Apr 2022 10:44:57
Thanks eds. Seems to be everywhere but fingers crossed. Do you think he will end up signing? Have a good day.

{Ed002's Note - I don’t think his agent is having much luck trying to find him another club.}

2.) 03 Apr 2022 11:42:21
If you’re going by the rumours in todays Sunday rags you may want to find new sources.

3.) 03 Apr 2022 12:43:49
On a side note. He’s played some minutes this season has Mo! Same with mane. Hopefully they’ve got 2 more months in those tired legs and minds.

4.) 03 Apr 2022 14:34:30
Thanks Ginger. condescending. much.

5.) 03 Apr 2022 15:06:41
WhT does it mean by image rights?

Does the owner of them get paid for every picture published?

Are they worth a lot for someone like Mo?

Is it usual for the club rather than the player to own image rights?

Just interested in the whole idea of the image rights and how important they are.

{Ed002's Note - It is to do with the exploitation of images, typically by the club. At one time it was used to pass additional monies to players and it took a number of years to put that right.}

6.) 03 Apr 2022 17:01:34
Thanks Ed002.

Hope that you and your family are keeping well.

Still lots of travelling or has it eased off a bit?

{Ed002's Note - A lot of travelling at the moment I have been in London for a couple of days - some other stuff to do and head back home maybe Wednesday. I hope you are the peronsification of niftiest.}

7.) 05 Apr 2022 09:15:02
1,2,3 altogether "why are we waiting. "

8.) 05 Apr 2022 12:21:58
Part of me thinks they will get tonight out of the way and then announce it in the build up to the city game. It may be wishful thinking but it would add a shot in the arm for the remainder of our season.

9.) 05 Apr 2022 18:55:41
Don’t be surprised that news of deal being done just before ManCity game!

29 Mar 2022 07:39:19
Reports this morning saying deal for fabio carlvlho has been agreed in principle. Any truth eds?

{Ed002's Note - There is nothing on the TMS yet but they may have agreed compensation with Fulham - either way I expect it to happen.}

1.) 29 Mar 2022 16:18:44
Watched much of him ed2?

{Ed002's Note - I have no interest in young men.}

2.) 29 Mar 2022 18:11:38
Great. Thanks Ed. Looks a very good prospect. Do you expect him to be loaned back or to us directly. Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - The problem is whether or not he will be given an opportunity. There needs to be a plan.}

3.) 29 Mar 2022 19:49:18
Agreed. I think he will be given a chance. So you think he's coming to us directly? Or is a loan back to Fulham on the cards? I think he will be class.

4.) 31 Mar 2022 00:40:29
I’m not sure if he’ll get that many games to be honest, good prospect for sure but I could envisage us loaning him out once he is signed up - if Fulham are promoted, which seems likely, maybe he’ll get another season with them?

10 May 2022 22:03:54
That was a very close call. just glad we found a way to win. Personally I'd drop salah for Saturday. Thoughts? Mane is on fire and is the main man. I'd rather go all out to retain him than salah. Sell salah and buy nunez.

1.) 11 May 2022 03:56:53
Salah cost us the game against Spurts with his poor decision making and eyes on the golden boot. But can't drop him. He can hit form at any time. Resting him tonight was a good call. But the longer the season goes on the less and less he looks like the player of the season. I'd give it to Virgil or Robbo.

30 Apr 2022 07:00:55
Who on here is planning on going to Paris IF we get to the final? We should all meet up for a pint or 2? Be an epic trip. I'm going to drive it I reckon.

1.) 30 Apr 2022 07:17:53
Ahh nice one Marty can you pick me up and I'll cover the tolls👍😁.

2.) 30 Apr 2022 07:34:18
I've looked into it but don't dare book until we are through.

3.) 30 Apr 2022 09:03:37
I’ve booked it. 😂 blame Jurgan, he’s turned me into a believer. Probably get screwed in the ticket ballot like I do every Final but yes I’ll be up for meeting the reds should we Qualify.

4.) 30 Apr 2022 10:42:47
My mate booked when the quarter finals were drawn. Though it bring in Paris would be a great experience yo watch a final and tell ya what, Liverpool are doing there damned best to get there for him lol.

The tickets are hard to get, him and his brother have both applied but he's everything else all booked - would honestly love Liverpool to win it, not just as a fan but cos he'll be there to see it too.

5.) 30 Apr 2022 12:26:19
I've booked my flights to Liverpool! Don't know where around the city would be best to watch it yet tho. any suggestions?

6.) 30 Apr 2022 15:34:05
Bmeana did you forget to ask me😐.

7.) 30 Apr 2022 16:24:40
Checked the price of a very average hotel on booking. com. 4.5 k! I don't think so. Disgraceful.

8.) 30 Apr 2022 19:32:14
Sod that then I refuse to stay in any hotel that’s less than 5k a night 🙄.

9.) 30 Apr 2022 20:33:04
Ashy I got a hotel near beauvais Airport for £200 Thursday to Sunday. (Only reserved so don't feel like I have jinxed it 😂) Just the small matter of getting to said hotel now.

10.) 30 Apr 2022 22:38:16
Anyone gong to Wembley?

{Ed025's Note - im not lol..

11.) 30 Apr 2022 23:06:08
Haha, was going to buy you a couple of pints 25 mate 😃.

{Ed025's Note - you can do that when you are in the city drogie and we are away to wigan.. :)

12 Apr 2022 07:24:28
I hate to say it but I can't see us winning the league. I think City will win all their remaining games. Most of those teams will roll over as usual. I think we will win the champions league though. I'm praying I'm wrong of course but just can't see it personally.

1.) 12 Apr 2022 08:27:36
Do teams roll over or are City just a very good side. We’ve only beaten them once in the last 9 games so does that mean we rolled over.

We’re a top quality side but it doesn’t mean we can’t give credit where credit is due. Whoever wins the league this season be it City or us will have thoroughly have deserved it.

{Ed001's Note - can it not be both? That's how it seems to me, City are a very good side but some teams do roll over for them because of that.}

2.) 12 Apr 2022 08:31:05
I have just asked my dear old mum for a message, she says City will lose 0-1 at West Ham, winning all their other games and the only points we drop are in a 1-1 draw at home to Tottenham. Can someone do the maths?

3.) 12 Apr 2022 08:42:47
GD will decide.

4.) 12 Apr 2022 08:43:20
Jack could be an Origiiiiiiiiiiiii last minute winner.

5.) 12 Apr 2022 08:50:59
Ed001 I think it can be both mate. And I’d imagine some rival fans probably believe teams roll over for us when we are at it and we steam roll teams.

I just think teams have no idea how to play City and the only option is to park the bus and hit them on the break and hope that they are clinical with a couple of the chances they get abs City are wasteful with the chances they have.

A few seasons ago teams did it to us and simply parked the bus which was extremely frustrating but our high line now actually encourages teams to come and have a go at us which in return stops them parking the bus so much against us.

All we can do is win our remaining 7 league games and hope that one of City’s 7 opponents feel like they have something to play for and catch them on that break.

{Ed001's Note - if teams have no idea, then they should sack their coaching staff immediately as the way to beat them has been shown many times. It is certainly not sitting back and inviting them on.}

6.) 12 Apr 2022 08:58:16
If you look at city’s run in, most of the teams are bottom half, we still have United, Everton and Spurs. Now everyone will laugh and say “ Everton and United “? But believe me, them lot will fo everything they can to stop us.

I’m usually pretty positive but for me, we needed to win on Sunday.

If I’m proved wrong, I’ll strip off and run around this site naked 😂.

7.) 12 Apr 2022 09:17:20
I've not read such downbeat nonsense for a long time. Tottenham and Crystal Palace have shown that Man City have their vulnerabilities. To declare everything over is premature. I personally feel they'll drop 5 more points this season. I'm not sure how we'll do because my vision becomes tainted by my love of Liverpool. I have a romantic vision that it goes down to the wire and as we beat Wolves on the final day of the season, Stevie G's Aston Villa beat Man City to hand us the title. Here's to hope.

8.) 12 Apr 2022 09:25:57
Funnily enough the average place of the teams we face is 11th and theirs is 12th so the indifference isn't huge. We play 2 p. poor teams at home then Newcastle away. Newcastle aren't in a relegation fight anymore so it shouldn't be an issue. City have west ham away and if they are still I'm contention for top 4 they'll fight hard. We shall see but the quad is still on. I rememeber the days the only 4 we were fighting for was 4th.

I'll go over to the United page to cheer myself up lol.

9.) 12 Apr 2022 09:30:48
Ed001 what is the way to beat them?

{Ed001's Note - you have to suffocate them, swarm them and treat it like you are a lower league team facing a big Prem team in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. Under pressure they struggle, particularly Ederson, who can't kick under pressure and gets rash.}

10.) 12 Apr 2022 09:39:44
I'm different Drogie. I can't explain it but the one that's concerning me is Southampton. But I do see why you're concerned about Everton and Man United. To be fair tho we done them both over pretty convincingly at their own grounds. Spurs are obviously the stand out team but they are hit and miss. Midweek is massive for City. Atletico aren't having a great season and I can see them kicking lumps out of city.

11.) 12 Apr 2022 09:52:08
@Drogie, why does winning or drawing the game against City, impact the scores in matches two or three weeks later?

About two months ago the situation was that we needed to win as many games as possible and City had to drop points - nothing’s changed and won’t for the remainder of the season.

We need to concentrate on the Benfica match and make sure we qualify for the CL semi.

12.) 12 Apr 2022 10:11:22
I noticed at times on Sunday our full backs, particularly Robbo were quite narrow and seemed to let the wide player stay out wide alone. O don't know if this was deliberate or if they were expecting cover but I think they need to tighten up a bit this weekend.

13.) 12 Apr 2022 10:23:10
Nothing negative, nothing downbeat - it’s a matter of opinion based on what I think might happen and I don’t think city will drop many, if any points, certainly not 5 lol. Looking at their fixtures, the only game I potentially see them dropping a point is West Ham.

14.) 12 Apr 2022 10:49:35
City are a fantastic side and we are a point behind them. That's how good we are.
When we were beating City by suffocating them our midfield and Firmino had more legs.
We are better up top and at the back but our midfield has dropped in intensity, I think.
If we can defend better and create and take our chances we can beat them. That might be too late for the league but don't be too downhearted because we are the only side to challenge them to this stage.
I'm proud of that.

15.) 12 Apr 2022 11:20:04
Ed 001 I wonder if teams feel the need to do what your propose
It’s after all just a PL game and 3 pts. If they are not desperate for the points, just play it out and if they get anything it’s a bonus
Might not agree with this mindset but it seems that’s how it is, why fight like mad dogs for a game and get knackered, they get to play them again in a few months vs lower league teams where this is a once off chance to cause an upset and be in the headlines even if they get knocked out the next round

And too bad, Ederson found his kicking boots in time to not let in a v soft own goal.

{Ed001's Note - you are right unless they are desperate.for points they save their legs for the easier games.}

16.) 12 Apr 2022 12:18:43
For me City have three big games left, leeds, wolves and west ham. Leeds by that point will probably be safe and be at home in an evening kick off. They are one of the sides who have no fear and could cause them problems. And elland road will be bouncing if they are safe by that point. A complete free hit for leeds. Add to that it could be after a CL Semi and that isn't as straight forward as people think!

Wolves are solid and have taken points of them before, again it is away from home so no means a walk in the park.

West Ham are not an easy team to play either and may need to win to keep their place in europe.

Yes we have banana skins too, but hopefully Mahrez miss come the end of the season is looked at the same way has Dembeles for Barca. You should of killed us off when you had the chance!

Personally I think the CL will play a huge part in the destination of the title, I don't think pep has won it in ten years. And still gets called the best, he needs to get that monkey of his back and will be eager to do so and cement his legacy at City. After all that was a big reason he was brought in.

17.) 12 Apr 2022 12:41:19
@West Derby - as you know it’s all about confidence and that draw at keeping them top gives City a massive psychological boost.

18.) 12 Apr 2022 12:43:54
Drogie, we will win. And you will, out of sympathy for our sanity, keep your clothes on. 😉😁.

19.) 12 Apr 2022 12:51:43
Keeping aside Mahrez miss, we should have beaten Leicester and Steve Bruce Newcastle and this debate wouldn’t be happening here. Drawing games has always been our issue. We bottled 10 points leage two years ago drawing far too many games and has happened again.

20.) 12 Apr 2022 13:49:00
Harry, I have to diagree, teams drop points for various reasons throughout a season. Silly mistakes, decisions that can go for or against you, bad luck i. e. deflection. Injuries and when you play certain teams are all factors which have to be taken into account.

Leagues have been won on 86, 87 and 81 points respectively before that's as many as 33 points dropped. the difference is every small mistakes are amplified by two teams who have the ability to be near perfect.

City have dropped points to Palace, Spurs and Southampton this year. So could use the same excuse. These are all games which on paper they should of won. Fortunately football isn't played on paper.

21.) 12 Apr 2022 14:29:29
Ed, hope you're well mate but on subject I agree. What really does my head in is so many teams in this league won't attack city. They're a bloody great side and so they should be but their keeepr and defence really aren't that special, if attacked they will always crumble under pressure. they are all about attack attack attack so when they finally get attacked they concede, they aren't used to it. Too many afraid teams for me, back in the day this wouldn't of been the case, for Christ sake give it to them if every team they faced actually went for it and didn't play for the draw they'd of lost plenty this season. We'd of been way ahead in the race.

22.) 12 Apr 2022 14:40:26
Haha - ArAy, reckon at least one of the Ed’s would give me a ban, so I’ll take you’re advice mate 😃.

23.) 12 Apr 2022 17:14:38
I don't know why anyone even bothers to argue with Harry, he's literally made up this draw against Newcastle and keeps banging on about how we're going to lose the league title because of that.

{Ed0666's Note - The midday kick off is just gonna add to his conspiracy theory 😂

24.) 12 Apr 2022 17:39:01
Well Harry yes we can blame ourselves for the draws
But if the difference is 1 point, couldn’t it have been the no handball but mike Riley apologies to Everton for a handball not given against City that may have made the difference? 😏.

25.) 12 Apr 2022 20:36:10
Spot on, WY Red. Can someone please tell me how logical it is to think that we were down and out while being potentially 14 points behind and YET still believe we are down and out after clawing the lead back to just one point? That is a logic that maybe the OP can can explain cos I l don’t get it.

The media were telling us that they couldn’t see where City would drop points while at the same time, they were DROPPING points to teams they should have beaten. Again, I don’t get it. People may be disappointed cos we didn’t win on Sun (don’t know how one can be that disappointed based on the way the game played out) but this is not the time to throw in the towel.

I say, Get behind mad the boys and let’s bring this baby home cos nobody thought we would be here in Jan yet here we are. City bottled an 8 point lead yet we throw in the towel? Not me. I’m in it till the end.

28 Mar 2022 18:18:07
Hi eds1, have you moved yet? Wasn't sure if I missed it mate.

{Ed001's Note - I fly out 18th of next month mate. 19 hours it will take to get there!}

1.) 28 Mar 2022 19:46:32
Ah cool, long old flight that. Have done oz and it was hard going. I bet you can't wait to get there now!

2.) 28 Mar 2022 19:50:25
Try moving from Wellington in NZ to Dublin, during peak C.V.! 37 hours I'll never get back.

{Ed001's Note - I would prefer not to. Why did you leave NZ? One of those places I have always wanted to visit.}

3.) 29 Mar 2022 04:01:31
I do the Brisbane to Manchester trip at least twice a year. 3 years ago I went from Invercargill in NZ to Oslo with 5 stops, 43 hours. Still gives me nightmares.
Where are you moving to 001?

{Ed001's Note - Manila mate. 43 hours? Are you sure it was a plane and you aren't getting mixed up like Ed025 does due to his age? Only that sounds like a Zeppelin speed! I did have a stop off in Oslo when I was flying from Spain to Dubai, both of which were warm but Oslo was -16c at the time. I am sure the pilot deliberately parked as far away as possible from the terminal so I had to trudge through snow for about 3 miles to get into the warm. Never been so bloody cold in my life. I only had shorts and t-shirt on!}

4.) 29 Mar 2022 08:25:07
with C.V. going on and all the family back in the uk ie parents, thought I should probably head a bit closer to home. Definitely try and get there though Ed, absolutely incredible place. I remember driving around looking for a coffee shop and came over a hill, could see the snoe capped mountains of the south island over the water. One of the only places in the world that just makes you stop dead and take it all in, which isn't great when you're driving looking for a coffee shop!

{Ed001's Note - I dated a Maori girl for a few years, so always wanted to visit as the pics she showed me of it looked incredible.}

5.) 29 Mar 2022 08:32:36
Ah, bloody pilots! I hate landing in Abu Dhabi or Dubai and they park the plane 25 miles from the terminal in 45 degrees! Yes, was 43 hours, had multiple stop overs with a few hours in each one. Was the only way I could use up my flyer miles as an upgrade. Turned out flying business class for almost 2 days was worse than the time I flew Finnair from Manchester to Brisbane. Was like international long haul easy jet. First time I've ever had to pay for wine, mental!
Last trip back was mid C.V. for mum's funeral. Due to limited flights allowed back in to fortress Australia at the time I had to pay 15K Aus. Like to think I got my money's worth of top shelf Whisky, vodka, Sauv blanc and Champagne, but I'd be kidding myself.

{Ed001's Note - whenever I have been to Dubai or Abu Dhabi, they always have the air-conditioned covered walkways from the plane into the terminal. This was the first time I had ever had to walk in open air and I was not exactly prepared for it. My hands and feet were blue and there was a crowd of people stood watching me.

To be honest I would have been fine with the 43 hours, as I am like a small hyper child on flights as I love flying. It is the poor buggers sat near me I feel sorry for. And the staff.}

You think Salah will be going eds?

{Ed002's Note - this has rather been done to death.}

I think Bowen will be to expensive and other cheaper options may be looked at. Praying Aston Villa snatch a draw.

Well said Davey. I've suffered with depression on and off for years. I'm actually doing well at the moment but as eds said it can hit you at any time and it doesn't matter if you are rich or poor. You never know what battles people are going through. That's why I always try and be super nice to everyone.

I wouldn't have Curtis involved, just not got any confidence in him in these sort of games. Gutted Thiago is out, that is a massive blow. He must be devastated. Fingers crossed salah turns up on Saturday.

We are talking about Everton fans, they seem to have gone down hill massively imo. Horrible bunch. Not you 25 lol.

{Ed025's Note - it was a bit of over exuberance marty. Which while not condoning it was understandable, they are not horrible or a bunch of thugs mate they are just the same as every other teams supporters, and that includes your angelic lot..
