Liverpool are looking to add a winger in January. Not sure who but I’ve been made aware that a shortlist is being prepared of about 3 players.

MoJo Salah

1.) 15 Dec 2018 23:16:14
Don’t see a winger being a priority. Possibly bring back Wilson not sure that’d be great for his career at the moment though.

2.) 16 Dec 2018 01:33:34
I suspect it will be Laxalt because if his versatility. Plus I think we need someone with electric pace like mane and Salah and this guy has it. Would be a decent singing to be a back up option. But that is the player I as assuming it will likely be. Pulisic also being mentioned but likely too expensive. And then the final player being looked at is Guedes at Valencia, a player I really like, would add something a bit different to the team also a guy who is very quick.
Like I said I would suspect Laxalt based on the names given. I would be happy with that singing.

3.) 16 Dec 2018 07:16:59
Thanks for the rumour MoJo. Very exiting times come january if you go by the rumours given on here. Could be anything from total silence, to sales only, to De Ligt and Pulisic. Personally I think we'll have a quiet january. The team has proven good enough to challenge, so I don't see further investment being made. With that said, we are still lacking width in the squad and missing a number 10 imo. Anyway, thanks for the post.

4.) 16 Dec 2018 09:54:11
Ed's 002 mentioned a left sided midfielder being a possible transfer target for us month back I think, so maybe.

5.) 16 Dec 2018 10:37:09
I truly trust my source that we will sign a winger. He called the ox deal a week before media outlets reported it, same with Salah, Fabinho and Shaqiri. And he called butland but we ended up with Alisson. So I’d say he’s reliable. We’ll have to wait and see though, I think we need another pacey forward player so somebody like Laxalt won’t break the bank and is a decent back up option.

6.) 16 Dec 2018 11:55:01
I’d love a pacey winger to sign in January. Give Mo or Mane a game off now and then.

7.) 16 Dec 2018 12:42:31
I can't see Milan letting Laxalt go in January unless we are prepared to pay over the odds for him. He would be very difficult for them to replace in the winter window.

8.) 16 Dec 2018 13:36:18
Yeah that is true EP mate.
My pick would be Bergwijn (spelling? ) from PSV, he look so like a real talent. Pace, skill and a decent ended product, him or Laxalt.

9.) 17 Dec 2018 09:34:02
Also Laxalt only moved to Milan in August. I'd imagine there's more chance of Ed002 moving to Mars.

10.) 17 Dec 2018 09:37:18
Oh and Guedes is injured until at least February, so I am sorry to mess up your Mojo, but your rumour reeks.

11.) 17 Dec 2018 17:14:38
Correct he is out until February. But it wasn’t a football related injury. He’s out because he’s had to have surgery on his abdomen. Not something that is going to massively affect the quality he has.
But like I said in the last post. Laxalt or Bergwijn will be the most likely options.
Just you wait and see.

12.) 18 Dec 2018 09:19:33
You actually didn't say Bergwijn is a likely opetion, you said would be your pick, but your pick does not a transfer make, mate.

Hello guys. First time poster here, only found this site a couple of months ago and have a catch up every night. So thank you for makin this site interesting (everybody! ) .
Question for Ed 1 - who do you prefer Alisson or Ederson? Because a lot of people tell me one is better then a lot of people tell me the other is better. So just thought I’d get you opinion on it.

MoJo Salah

{Ed001's Note - I don't think there is a genuine dispute that Alisson is better to be honest. By a margin as well. And I thought so before we bought Alisson and have seen nothing to change my opinion since.}

1.) 28 Nov 2018 12:40:46
I have to agree with Ed001, I think Alisson could cope with anything thrown at him, whereas I think Ederson looks shaky under pressure.

2.) 28 Nov 2018 13:49:42
Alisson is lightyears ahead of Ederson. Imo its not even up for debate.

3.) 28 Nov 2018 14:06:31
This thread is totally biased. Ederson is better with his passing and as for playing well under pressure Alisson folded at Liverpool last season as did Ederson. For me they are both quality keepers and Alisson has more presence but he really worries me when he palms out soft shots to the middle of the 6 yard box, this is a big flaw in his game. The shot agains't Cardiff was no more than a back pass and he pushed it to the middle of the goal. If Karius had of done that he would have got slaughted. He also only had one top season at Roma.

Alisson is very good but can still improve.

{Ed001's Note - no you are just clueless about Ederson. His passing is not better, he has more options on the ball but he has not got anything like the assists Alisson managed in Serie A nor the range of passing Alisson showed. It is ok you are so busy trolling about how crap everyone who plays for Liverpool is, you have clearly not bothered to watch any games. You really are the most biased poster of all, you do nothing but slag off Liverpool players, worse than Harry, and see absolutely nothing good about them, only the bad. Try having a look at both sides of the coin some time and you might realise that there are actually some excellent players at the club right now. However you will never see it, because you will just be moaning that Salah doesn't make enough last ditch tackles or Alisson doesn't score enough goals.}

4.) 28 Nov 2018 14:44:13
Very well said Ed.

5.) 28 Nov 2018 14:48:55
this is why I try not to post on threads you are on because it is your way or no way. If I called you clueless you would lose the plot and spit your dummy out. I just don't happen to agree with some of your opinions. In my opinion Ederson and Alisson are very similar at this time.

Fabinho is slow
Shaqiri would be a top signing
VVD would be a game changer

these are just things we disagree on. I don't see why you want every poster to agree with you 100% of the time.

{Ed001's Note - I don't, if I did I would just delete everyone who disagreed. Obviously that escapes your notice as only you are allowed to have an opinion, which is why you claim when anyone disagrees it is them trying to shout you down and not allowing you an opinion, despite you having given one. I can't be arsed with you.}

6.) 28 Nov 2018 15:39:08
Alisson did not fold at Liverpool last season, he was beaten several times. Even world class keepers can let 4 or 5 goals in a game.

7.) 28 Nov 2018 16:26:02
In fairness to Mark, I don't think your overall post was biased or clueless. But perhaps the opening line opens you up to some criticism as it comes in strong.

I can understand anyone who thinks Allison is better. I've watched both closely for a year and whilst I regard Allison as a top keeper and a great signing, I am leaning towards Ederson currently. That could be down to the team he plays for but I too have concerns with Allison pushing the ball out too central. I do believe he'll improve on that though. Either way top keepers and its understandable to go either way imo.

8.) 28 Nov 2018 16:59:02
I think Alisson is better, Football Manager 2019 scout’s think Alisson is better and Im sure Buffon said Alisson is in the top 3 best goalkeepers right now.

Alisson > Ederson.

9.) 28 Nov 2018 17:23:33
08- You asked for it when you screamed that others' opinions are biased, and yet insist that you are allowed to have your own opinion (which incidentally is also your bias, if you thought about it before posting) .

{Ed001's Note - exactly mate, he does this regularly then cries about the response. He brings it on himself with his own words.}

10.) 28 Nov 2018 17:24:28
This thread will always be slightly biased, as its the LFC site not the MCFC site.

However, Ederson isn't better with pressure. When he's put under pressure (which is rare given the quality ahead of him) he tends to struggle as he did against us.

Re his passing, I think he does have better long pass completion rates so far this season (87% to 79% IIRC from a 5 Live show last week), but that is just as likely to be down to this being his second season so the outfield players are more used to his passing. I think they are both great modern interpretations of top GKs. Alisson just edges it for me based on his presence. I mean who wouldn't be scared when facing a bearded man mountain with a girls name?! Scary on so many levels!

What has impressed me most about Alisson is the calmness and discipline he has instilled in our defence. VVD made a difference last Jan, but I still worried about us with Migs in goal behind him. Our back 5 this year just seem to click, and when the rest are working, swapping in, for example, Lovren for the odd game doesn't unsettle us like it did.

Would Ederson be just as effective for us? Who knows, maybe. But I'm happy with what we've got, thanks!

11.) 28 Nov 2018 17:27:21
Allison is miles better. For me Ederson is the better kicker and that's as far as it goes. When it comes to goalkeeping Allison destroys him it's not even a debate.

12.) 29 Nov 2018 01:18:40
Alisson no doubt. Put it this way. Ederson is good with his feet, and it suits the way City plays. But he hasn’t strengthened the defence of City much.

Alisson is good with his feet, suits the way we play and has significantly improved our defence. The current back 4 + Karius was still wobbly at times. But the current back 4 + Alisson = rock solid.

RF - I have heard very similar. But my understanding is that this would be conducted over 2 summer windows. With Werner, Rabiot and Fekir being targeted this summer along with Laxalt. Then Brandt and De Ligt the summer after.
Either way it is exciting times!

For me Wan-Bissaka, LB (either promote a youth player or sign somebody I’d love tierney as he can play a couple of different postions), Pulisic, maybe a striker like Kevin Volland (always liked him) and Aouar (spelling) then sell/ loan, Moreno, Clyne, Lallana, Solanke and one of Sturridge / Origi.
Very unlikely we’ll sign any of them but imagaine!

Spot on that mate! I noticed it to one against Burnley. Keita played very well and caused a lot of problems.
