Proud Welshman here. He Genuinely loved played for wales but what could have been if he’d had the professionalism and drive of Ronaldo for example. Will never be remembered as a great.

You have to admit that the man was very lucky and with perfect timing. Madrid was still in its hysteria over "galacticos" and spending accordingly. This man was in the right place at the right time and made a career (probably a life) out of that. Probably skilled enough to be world class, but never had the professionalism and determinaion for it.

He was a superb athlete but he hasn't been for a while. He lived off his reputation towards the end of his career.

Did anyone follow his career when he moved to Spain? He had a couple of extremely good years in England before his move, but I never followed after that. How good was Bale, or was it a case of him being involved with a very good team at the right time?

We can't expect the players to play every game! He would come in and take his place alongside our midfield so that we don't flog every player and they are knackered by the end of the season.
