Hello ed1 hope u well. Next season how do u see us setting up in the forward positions, do u think we will go with gakpo central as a false 9 or nunez as an out and out striker? I think we look better as a team with gakpo as a false 9.i don't believe for a minute that we spent the amount we did on nunez for him not to be a main player for us and I don't think we bought him to play from left either.
Obviously there will be loads of games and it's great to have the options up top that we do but the difference in team set up with nunez up top or gakpo will be massive I think, nunez wants to play on shoulder of last defender and his link up play ain't great, gakpo exactly the opposite.

It would be pointless playing Nunez because of his price tag tho, that wouldn’t make any sense at all. We are a big club and we should have alternatives up front. Sounds obvious but it’s up to each player to make it difficult for Klopp to leave out. If we are going to have any sort of success then we will need the players not in the first eleven ready to go, fit and firing.

Forward line options for next season are extremely exciting as we can play with a 3 or 4 but with 5 subs I’d imagine we’ll see the 5 most weeks.

The only minor cause for concern is hoping they are all available as much as possible.

Jota’s had major injury concerns.
Diaz is returning from a major injury
Nunez has had a few niggles a
Mo is potentially missing 8 games for the Afcon.

All 5 with get double figures goals and assists though and hopefully that’s about 20 each.

i suspect gakpo may get more game time due to him suiting the central role so well. but nunez can be devastating when used to his strengths, depending on how the opponent sets up. but both will get game time, i wouldn't write off nunez.

You should never play a player solely for his price tag. Just ask Utd how that worked out for them with Ole having to play a certified, world class dud in Maguire due to his price tag only.

Writing off Nunez just smacks of a lack of patience, imo. His talent is undeniable cos if not, the almighty Eric 7 Hag at Utd wouldn’t have pushed to sign him. Give the kid the chance to grow and more importantly, allow Klopp to get him into an actually functional team rather than the crap he had to deal with all season last term.

Our forward line is fine, imo. We need help elsewhere in midfield and defence. Just my take.

Gakpo I think will start the season anyway Diaz left Salah right.

Jota and Nunez will come on for 2 of the 3 ideally for last 20/ 30 mins.

I think Nunez will gain his confidence this year in EL though I can see him starting up front in this competition and bagging a lot of goals that will make it a more difficult question.

Basing this off nothing but optimism but why the f not!

I certainly wouldn't write nunez off, I like him as a player and think he has great potential . I would worry about the amount of injuries he has picked up last season tho, I don't think he can afford to pick up same about of niggles season coming.

Digger, I like him too but he’s very raw, a bit of a maniac if you like. You don’t know if he’s going to hit the top corner or the top of the stand but he done ok in his stop start first season. I’m certain he’ll improve this coming season too.

That right hand side seems very light. Gakpo Jota Diaz Darwin means on the left and through the middle we have plenty of options. But we’ve been lucky Salah hasn’t ever really missed a period with injury we haven’t really got any cover there. Elliott or Doak would have to really step up.

faith, you must be new here. Haven't you heard? FSG get NO credit whatsoever for anything good at LFC. Clearly, it was Klopp who with his hard earned money (earned from the wages FSG actually pay him) signed the forwards that have given us this much depth you now speak of.
