Afternoon Ed’s and fellow fans,
I hope you’re all well.
Just seen on SSN that we are in talks to sign Mac Alister with the fee touted at £70m. Just passing on the info.

Supposedly 18m cheaper then Bellingham according to the interweb.

2.) 04 May 2023 15:06:17
Macallister, Borella and Gravenbirch. I think that's the three we will end up with and I'm very very happy with that combination.

3.) 04 May 2023 16:51:36
We're about as likely to sign Borella as I am to accept a cheque from Boris Johnson.

4.) 04 May 2023 17:53:57
Its either Mac Allister or Borella. Can't see how we can afford both and other signings.

5.) 04 May 2023 18:01:19
Tbf id be tempted to sign a proven RB and then get 2 midfielders
Hopefully cheaper to get acRB than CM and play Trent in CM.

6.) 04 May 2023 18:48:01
I've no idea why we would look at Barella. No desire to leave Italy according to the Eds and - be honest - whenever has an Italian footballer moved over here in recent years and been successful. I'd be happy for him to stay in Milan.

7.) 04 May 2023 20:22:00
Barella, like Gavi when we were linked to him don't want to leave their current clubs so zero chance of signing them.

Don’t shoot the messenger, saw a link with us being interested in Levi Colwill of Chelsea.
Ed’s, any info on that? I’m guessing it’s just BS!
Also does anyone know how our loaners are getting on this season?

MightyReds123456789

{Ed002's Note - I am aware of interest from elsewhere but I am not aware of Liverpool showing interest.}

1.) 01 Apr 2023 08:51:55
Would be all over Colwell. Home grown and could be Virgs successor eventually. Do Chelsea have to sell a few ed?

{Ed002's Note - Chelsea will be selling plenty of players in the summer due to the additions in the last window and a couple of others already arriving in the summer - some departures have already been agreed.}

2.) 01 Apr 2023 10:27:28
A young homegrown u21 international player who's had a year in the championship followed by a handful of games in one of Europes top 5 leagues. Not surprised to see someone dying to give Chelsea a heapful of cash when we already have an u21 international homegrown player with MORE experience in Van Den Berg! People then wonder why we struggle to pay for actual top players for the first eleven.

3.) 01 Apr 2023 18:40:29
It’d be good if Virgil’s successor was ready now. He’s had a shocker this season. The back four is worse than the midfield.

Don’t shoot me down for asking…
But with our history of buying Southampton players and our history of buying players from relegated teams does anyone think James ward prowse would be a decent signing?
I’d prefer someone better myself but interested in everyone’s thoughts.
And happy new year everyone.

Good player but too slow to play for Klopp. Probably the reason he’s not been snapped up already by a top club.

Happy new year!

Morning all, I hope you’ve all had a great Christmas.
Couple of questions f anyone can help?
With regards to our defence and everyone saying Gomez and matip need replacing does anyone know how sepp is doing in Germany? Is he an option for next season?

MightyReds123456789

1.) 29 Dec 2022 10:22:23
He started really well and then i believe he broke his ankle. I think he'll be back this season so we'll see what his mentality is like in terms of dealing with a set back.

2.) 29 Dec 2022 11:58:50
Imo what is likely is that both Nat P and Gomez will be sold, one of whom would be replaced by a Konate type singing (bar the injury record) , and the other from within. Jogo and Nat P should generate 30m between them, not that i care about the monies spent by a load of very rich men.
Does anyone know if the Brazilian Bremer moved yet? He looks Ream.

3.) 29 Dec 2022 12:56:11
I had high hopes for JG but his confidence looks shot and I think it might be time to move him on if we can get a decent fee for him. It's a shame, I was hoping he'd be our first choice CB for years to come but I just think all the injuries have taken their toll.

4.) 29 Dec 2022 16:14:21
Gomez isn't even at his peak yet, he'll be going nowhere.
How transfer hungry fans and Klopp see players are 2 very different things.

5.) 29 Dec 2022 18:41:09
I think we need to sort the midfield out first but Matip and Van Dijk are 30 or over and Robbo isn’t far off so we’ll need to look at the plan for the future soon. I have to say though - based on no evidence whatsoever I hasten to add - that I see Robbo being a bot of a Millie type who I imagine will play on into his mid-30’s although p, again based on no evidence at all, it might not necessarily be with us.

I’m pretty sure salah rejected us and signed for Chelsea (I may be wrong) but if that is the case then should we of not signed him second time round?

Maybe Laura woods to replace him? She’s leaving talkSPORT and is a lot better than him. And better to look at.

Bellingham is clearly a very talented footballer but he’s not coming here so I’m really not interested in what wages he’ll get.
I’m only interested in who we sign and I’m hoping it’s Mac Alister plus one.
Anyway, come on West Ham today.

Morning all reds and Ed’s. It’s nice waking up after a good performance. Very proud of our youngsters, they have a very bright future with us.
I’m still worried about the energy our older players bring though. Thiago being one played better with energy around him but keita for me was the one weak link. Imagine if we had a top midfielder in his place last night.
My question is though realistically who? Who would be everyone’s choice to command our midfield and more importantly who could we realistically get? I think Bellingham may end up in Madrid. I’m thinking Rice would be superb for us and could be more realistic, although I doubt West Ham would do business in this window.
What’s everyone’s thoughts on him?
