Just hearing on talk sport that Chelsea are massive favourites to get Alex Scott with a deal possible in January if Bournemouth feel they be safe from relegation. £100mill + being quoted?!

While I'm a massive fan of the player & think he'd be a great addition the potential asking price is way too much when other midfield reinforcements are more pressing.

Agree0

27 Oct 2026 19:54:32
Don't think it will be near that price. Contracts running out and he won't sign a new one.

27 Oct 2026 21:14:07
Don't think he what we need in midfield personally.

27 Oct 2026 21:16:03
agree FM, scott has circa 18 months left on his contract then goes where he wants on 30/06/28? FM does he play in the same position as florian/AM or mac allister/DM, 50 million is more realistic, if DM wharton or scott.

Bristol Red surely scott having played his best ever football under Andoni, it's obvious where he will want to go to continue that! he was born in Guernsey the Channel Islands, so was matt le tissier and centre forward Len Duquemin who scored over 200 goals for spurs in the late 1940s and early 1950s he must have been good also with those goal tallies?

YNWA Andoni.

28 Oct 2026 02:18:20
Agreed, not concerned as i don't think he's the solution toour problems, he would be an improvement, but there are others better suited.

28 Oct 2026 07:28:18
Scott is just another number 8, we're well stocked for that kind of player. We need a disciplined defensive minded midfielder. He's welcome to go to Chelsea and be the new Scott Parker.

28 Oct 2026 11:59:04
Think Scott would get in our team from the start. We always do this put players down(especially Midfielders)as if we currently have Kroos and Modric in the middle. We did it all summer. He would improve us and if it was a case of moving Macca on to get him in I would do the deal tomorrow.

{Ed666's Note - Wirtz is our Modric

28 Oct 2026 14:12:29
Wirtz has done better the last few games and hopefully it's the start of something. But at the moment he shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as Modric. In danger of sounding like an Arsenal supporter there Ed?.

{Ed666's Note - I think we expect too much from Wirtz. Even when he creates 9 chances in a game which is some type of record he still doesn’t get his flowers. The boy can’t win even when he’s winning. He keeps us ticking over much like modric has done for whichever team he played for. Maybe doesn’t look like he’s doing much but when you analyze the game he’s effective.

28 Oct 2026 17:02:10
Should analyse them 9 chances. One hit off his shoulder and ricocheted to a Liverpool player and that gets counted as creating a chance?.doesn't take much these days. He's doing better but can still do better again. Like Modric did for 20 years.

{Ed666's Note - still created 9 chances. Don’t hate the player hate the game mate

28 Oct 2026 17:34:52
Florian, Scott might be an improvement on one or two of our out of form players, but he's not the solution, as Vik said, a disciplined and aggressive DM with a great read on the game is really what we're lacking and have been for some time.

28 Oct 2026 18:02:35
I know from the summers transfer window that there's a lot of experts on here when it comes to the MF position Chewy. Know all the"profiles"and that. But for me he starts instantly for us and Andoni likes him. If we don't move for him grand. if we do and we get him I will be happy. I know others won't.

29 Oct 2026 08:36:18
Nyoni is the player we need as a 6 but we need cover to enable him to develop and his name is Sadiki.

30 Oct 2026 20:48:55
Cant argue with that Florian, no doubt he gets in ahead of Grav, and would most definitely be an improvement, not denying that at all, I just think Camara or maybe Sadiki would be better suited to solving our current issues.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we signed Scott but to me he's more of a Macca replacement, were he to move on, if you know what I mean.

Liverpool Ladies 2 - 2 London City Lionesses

Yesterday London City started the better, on 3mins they should have scored,
Khiara Keating in goal looked fortunate to save from the city striker, 5mins a cross was sent in from the left which Khiara spilled but the ball got cleared.
On 7mins with our defenders playing around at the back Keating received the ball and under no pressure played a 20 yard pass straight to a city player ? fortunately they didn't score from the chance that was gifted.

10mins in we started to play, Fuka Nagano more involved and Cornelia Kapocs who scored a subbed on hat-trick midweek looking lively again & on 16m she forced a corner from positive play. Natalia Ramos sent over a deep cross but before anything came of it the referee had blown for a penalty resulting from a rugby type manoeuvre on our Jenna Clark, . a gift greatly received and duly dispatched top left corner beautifully by our Swedish centre forward Beata Olsson ?⚽️ ? 1-0 ?, . Danielle Van De Donk the LCL midfielder was booked prior to the kick being taken for deliberately trying to mess up the penalty spot with her studs ??‍♀️, .

21 minutes gone and disaster, Khiara Keating dallied with the ball at her feet and lcl forward Freya Godfrey intercepted to score into an empty net ? 1-1

With the game heading towards h/t on 43mins Liverpool's Alejandra Bernabe
was on the end of a cross at the far post but unfortunately blazed her shot over the bar, less than a minute later a long ball played towards our box was weakly headed back towards keeper Keating by Bernabe which was easily intercepted by Van De Donk and squared neatly for lcl forward Diani to slot home making it 1-2 and yet again we see another gift handed out (and it's still 2 months shy of Christmas) ?, .
To Danielle Van De Donk's credit she was proving a real difference for lcl, she seemed to be everywhere, her movements were pulling players out of position and she duly got just reward with a fine assist, she is a very switched on player.

2nd half started with just one change for lcl at left back, none for Liverpool.

1st opportunity was headed wide by Clark from a corner kick, we had started the half well and continued to press forward, nearly all the possession, then fabulous interplay on 70mins saw Ramos with a shot but alas it was comfortably saved by the keeper. A minute later saw more unnecessary indecision at the back nearly gifting lcl a 3rd goal ? these mistakes are so frustrating.

3 minutes added on to the ninety, Fuka Nagano dominant for Liverpool 2nd half and a good team showing which finally saw our girls get just reward equalising in added time, given rightly as an own goal but culminating from swift forward football and lovely wing play by Kapocs delivering a great ball into the box, the defender Fernandez under pressure with Olsson right behind her, could only manage to divert it into her own net 2-2 ?? and a very well deserved share of the points.

Next game is Sunday, a WSL match versus West Ham @ 2 o'clock

This wasn't a match post Eds, I was wishing TAA luck at the Balon d'Or.

26 Oct 2026 22:13:47
Maybe he'll do the acceptance speech in Spanish.

27 Oct 2026 08:43:17
I'd imagine Trent felt a silly billy lastnite.

27 Oct 2026 13:30:03
The closest Trent will get is winning a tub of ice cream for the cart horse award.

I think they call it the Carte D'or.

I'll get my coat ;)

27 Oct 2026 17:29:37
He'd even put on his best Prada dungarees for the occasion. Always the bridesmaid, eh? Still, he can go back to his day job of being 3rd choice right back at Madrid, I'm sure that must mean more.

26 Oct 2026 23:10:36
Well done to kane. Fantastic player.

26 Oct 2026 08:40:18
I know this is Liverpool banter but it is not hard to laugh at the state of Manchester United, I don't remember us ever being that bad for that long after that amount of spend! But could it happen again that Manchester United sack a manager after losing to Liverpool?? We play them next on 22nd November, before then they have to navigate Chelsea and Villa.

I really hope Carrick is still in the role as it looks like he has lost the dressing room, the team are a shambles and unfit, jeez I may have money on Wirtz and Frimpong scoring!

I think they'll replace him at the international break. Personally, I think they should give him a lifetime contract.

26 Oct 2026 17:00:44
Don't see him making it that far unfortunately.

26 Oct 2026 19:00:54
We've been pretty horrendous for long periods over the years don't forget.
The Souness years when we were languishing mid table and the time under Roy when we were appalling and apart from Stevie G and a couple of others had very little quality but we came back again under Jurgen to be the best in Europe for a season or two.

The same can happen at United & if & when they get it right. They're still a massive club so enjoy it while it lasts.

{Ed666's Note - The Owl era was the absolute nadir in Liverpools history and last season came pretty close

26 Oct 2026 21:32:22
Liverpool were never as bad as United are now, Liverpool's worst finish in the Premier League era is 8th, United finished 16th two seasons ago.

27 Oct 2026 10:15:55
Sorry ed666 but what's the owl era? Only one I can think of myself is that you mean Hodgson for reasons ill keep to myself as I don't want to run F(owl) of the eds.

{Ed666's Note - yes mate your right Hodgson was colloquially known as the owl.

27 Oct 2026 16:07:11
"BAN" city versus Manure in the EFL Championship next year!

"Car wreck" had 3 whole seasons as the Middlesbrough Boss and could not get them promoted, even lost in the playoffs to Coventry City one year. Has lost the last 8 games on the bounce, going for Arne Slot's record LOL!

YNWA Andoni.

25 Oct 2026 15:56:31
2-0, Clean sheet, 3points vs one of the prem inform clubs YNWA.

Also it was Liverpool's first Anfield league win in SIX months, Brighton had not conceded a goal for 548 minutes of football before Sunday's game and arrived with an 18+ goal difference.

Brentford a week earlier had not lost a PL home win since January. Defensive stability was the most important thing for Andoni to correct first, ye have to get the back right first before you can go forwards, last seasons PL defence figures for goals conceded 53, was LFC's worst ever since the PL first started in 1992. A good Defence wins you leagues, goals win you matches. Arsenal only conceded 27 goals last PL season.

In Sir Bob Paisleys 78-79 league success, LFC only conceded 16 league goals in 42 games, 4 league goals at Anfield (Circa a goal at home every ten matches) and only conceded 12 away in the league, they also scored 85 league goals in that season, circa 2 goals home and away all season, Ray Clemence had 28 clean sheets in the league that season. Sir Bob won the league that season with no wingers at all, his midfield 4 was Case, McDermott, Souness, Kennedy.

{Ed666's Note - When you put it like that

25 Oct 2026 16:56:15
We won that with our first half performance which was very good. We weee lucky at times though and Brighton played well second half. If felt like we just needed to get hold of the ball and keep it for a bit. Took till late on before we did it and it took the wind out of their sails.

Have to say what a nice tidy team they are. Very good well organised team, that don't mind which direction they go with the ball. Happy to keep it in tight areas and don't look to force passes if there not on.

Just hope they keep that manager and united don't come calling.

I really want conte to be united next manager. Watch them fighting with each other. Bruno must stay lol.
Actualy feel sorry for Carrick TBH he seems like an ok bloke. I thought he was going to cry in his interview.
At least the support recognised him and slated the Players.

25 Oct 2026 18:24:21
I don't understand why anybody would leave a team in the fight for a CL place for a team 1 point off the bottom. I think United will probably sack Carrick after this weekend but like you I feel sorry for him. The club is rotten and whilst I don't rate Carrick particularly highly as a manager there are much bigger problems in that club.

{Ed666's Note - They need major surgery from top to bottom. I’m not sure they’ll win anything for at least another 3 or 4 years.

25 Oct 2026 16:38:02
Who thinks Micheal Carrick will still be in a job tonight?

Personally I think he's gone before it gets dark.

Poor sod.

What a basket case of a club. Toxic.

Agree3

25 Oct 2026 18:21:36
He'll be gone tonight.

The walkabout at the end seemed very rehearsed to me.

27 Oct 2026 14:41:07
They will keep him until the international break because they don't want to upset the fans. If there is an up tick in form then I think he stays. They need to get rid of the bad apples of which there are many.

{Ed025's Note - a barrel full i would say Jari, its such a toxic bunch from top to bottom mate..

24 Oct 2026 22:43:42
Side note but I'm really impressed by Unai Emery's commitment to making Aston Villa look like a pub team for the first month of every season then randomly popping up in the top 6 when they remember they're actually pretty good. Interesting little side quest he's got going on.

25 Oct 2026 01:58:10
Starting seasons badly while building fitness was never considered a big deal until teams racking up 90+ points became increasingly common. Man United would regularly lose 2 or 3 games in the early part of a season before going on to win the title.
Emery is the most accomplished coach in the league, and it is damn time he got the respect his achievements deserve.

25 Oct 2026 08:47:15
Still wish we got Mbaye. then our wingers would be somewhat balanced.

25 Oct 2026 12:09:53
They played well and it was a great result but they were gifted their 2 goals by Guehi and Donnarumma.
