This is about as bad as I've felt after a loss in a long time. That was never a red and we just aren't good enough.
Agree12
11 Oct 2026 20:02:10
We were better than them prior to the red.
11 Oct 2026 20:30:59
Stone we had 5 first team players out injured, 3 of them being our 3 strikers.
If we'd had Szob, Ekitike, Isak, Bradley and Gakpo available all of a sudden the team is much stronger and we have strength on the bench.
Regardless of that the game was in the balance until a really poor ref got involved. It's crazy how Kavanagh was ever given that game he's got the weakest personality of any ref in the league. That needed a strong ref who can manage the game without dishing out needless yellow cards it was always going to be a hyped atmosphere.
Just one of those days, we move on.
12 Oct 2026 09:13:57
We were seriously weakened yesterday Stone. i liked the way we tried to play I've felt way worse after other defeats.
11 Oct 2026 19:14:25
It really is time to admit Wirtz is a bust.
Agree9
11 Oct 2026 20:32:21
It will be hard for a few but they will get there eventually.
11 Oct 2026 22:22:09
Unfortunately it's not just Wirtz. Kerkez is appalling as is Frimpong, both now have played enough games to be judged.
11 Oct 2026 18:06:20
Wirtz and Barcola have been very poor, again. Doku comes on and shows how a winger should play. Direct, take your man on and create havoc in the defence.
Agree11
11 Oct 2026 18:00:25
Wirtz really needs to be sold in January if not then definitely next summer. Simply just not good enough and even if got 60 million back I think we should take it.
His first touch is like a trampoline most of the time and doesn't score enough goals.
Get rid and try to strengthen the team elsewhere.
Agree11
11 Oct 2026 18:42:17
Really really silly comment, sorry. Who in their right mind would sell a 100m player for 60m a season later, I don't care he hasn't lit up. the Premier League but we would recoup most, if not all his fee.
11 Oct 2026 19:01:14
How would you recoup all of his fee if he is not the player you bought in the first place? Lol.
11 Oct 2026 19:07:11
Who do you recoup most of if not all of his fee from Bazzinga? No one in the Premier League. And who of the handful of teams with the money outside England(Bayern, PSG, Real, Barca)would want him. Bayern maybe but they were only going to £88m when he was probably the golden boy of European football. Not a hope they offer above £60m now.
11 Oct 2026 20:13:05
Just because a player doesn't always world. put that you massively lose on their fee, and if you think that then that really raises questions if you lot actually watch football!
Many players in their times haven't worked, yet still sold for the same, and sometimes more based on their previous abilities.
11 Oct 2026 20:48:40
Only at Chelsea Bazzinga. Wirtz will not go for more than £60m. So the club either refuses to take that hit or they bite the bullet. Big 8 months for Wirtz ahead. Do you honestly expect to see him here after the summer if he keeps playing as he is?
11 Oct 2026 21:07:34
@Bazzinga tell me these players then?
11 Oct 2026 22:36:18
Reallifered, massive prime example, one of our old players: Mohammed Salah. Bought by Chelsea for 11m, classed as a flop, sold for 15m!
11 Oct 2026 23:18:41
??? That's your smoking gun Bazzinga?! Have a kit-kat mate will you.
12 Oct 2026 09:02:24
Wirtz "is" a 60 million player, he's not a £100 million player his PL figures and performances prove that, 17 PL games to score his first goal is absolutely embarrassing!
12 Oct 2026 10:11:08
doesn't score enough goals? That made me laugh to be honest ? what goals? What assists? He ran like 8km yesterday in 60 minutes (great workrate) and had 1 good pass in the 1st half otherwise Nothing. Sell him before he loses all value and bring in a RW instead.
12 Oct 2026 17:07:54
That was one example Chewy, I wasn't going to sit and list every single player.
Nice to see the support for one of our players. We had more people on here support Slot then half our players, even with him not being present for training/ coaching and generlaly wrecking the team.
These players are still learning and adapting to IA's wants and needs, especially in terms of fitness.
11 Oct 2026 17:21:30
No complaints whatsoever about the effort of the players in that half, but there is an unacceptable lack of attacking quality in the team. Munoz and Koumas are just running around, which is useful until they actually need to do something with the ball.
This City team has lost much of its structure and organization it had under Pep after only 3 months of Maresca - they are absolutely there to be got at, despite the quality players.
Agree1
11 Oct 2026 18:05:40
They might've just been running around but they've been more useful than Barcola and Wirtz.
11 Oct 2026 18:41:05
How easy would it have been for the ref to keep Grav on the pitch? His Arse was making buttons to get that second yellow out.
We fell apart afterwards. But I honestly thought we looked likely before the ref made himself the main man.
11 Oct 2026 18:52:16
The lack of attacking quality isn't really about Munoz and Koumas, they're basically reserves. The real issues are Barcola, Wirtz and the injury prone Isak.
The really poor transfer business by the club with those three players is irretrievable in the short term. Isak showed his finishing ability this season, but also unfortunately as we all know he's shown again that he's very injury prone. The other two look like nothing players that we chose to buy for £200m plus despite not needing them, whilst neglecting glaring holes in other parts of the pitch.
Our centre midfield and right side got shown up today, but the real issue isn't about today it's about how poor we've been this season. The result today wasn't a surprise but the manner of the defeat was very worrying.
11 Oct 2026 19:09:23
Before the red even game. Is what it is. Sometimes ye get the luck. Went against us today. Good effort from the majority of the lads.
10 Oct 2026 17:07:16
I'd love to see Koumas start tomorrow. He's a pressing machine.
Agree4
10 Oct 2026 23:57:53
Yes, his relentless work rate and ability to constantly hound defenders would be ideal for heaping even more pressure on City's back line tomorrow, only issue is his lack of experience finding the net.
{Ed666's Note - ironically he scored loads of goals in the under 18’s and 21’s.
11 Oct 2026 10:27:43
Yep, him and Danns were scoring machines. I wonder will Danns or Wright make the bench.
11 Oct 2026 12:20:11
I'd start with Corby.
Now that's what I call a pressing machine.
11 Oct 2026 13:25:23
I hope so Florian, I'm keen to see Danns back in action. I thought he looked very promising prior to his injury troubles.
11 Oct 2026 13:37:22
Before his injuries he was on the way to the top imo Chewy. Such a shame the growth spurt can me with a load of setbacks. Still young enough but would need an injury free run now. He's due a bit of luck.
11 Oct 2026 13:50:39
Danns presence is undeniable when he's on the pitch. Seems to make defenses nervy. I heard he's injured again which is seriously unfortunate.
11 Oct 2026 19:21:56
I'm not sure where this talk about Danns is coming from. He's played about three league games in three seasons, what presence has he got, none.
09 Oct 2026 18:05:25
I personally believe city should be put on pause. They're still causing destruction by being present and still at their antics. The team is still going to affect PL places. Don't let them into the pitch until they've been thoroughly investigated.
I guarantee you it'll go a lot faster than them aiming to slow it all down ATM.
Agree4
09 Oct 2026 19:40:45
Utter nonsense, that would be implementing sanctions before they've been granted their rights to appeal, and highly illegal.
10 Oct 2026 11:29:59
Whilst I agree with you Chewy that you can't pause city while there is an appeals process still to be dealt with, you could stilll sanction them by docking them points and give them a huge fine right now.
I could be wrong, but didn't Everton and Forest both get sanctioned (pts deductions) before their appeals and then got the sanctions reduced after their appeals and got some of the deducted pts added back on. If i'm right then it can happen straight away and be corrected in favour of who wins the appeal.
Or
Alternatively do as UEFA did and ban them from the following season and fined them before their appeal was heard and most of it got reversed after they had won at CAS, so you could also announce the sanctions now to start as soon as the appeal is over (because prob won't be til next season) and if they win the appeal then it gets reversed but if they lose then the PL can increase the sanctions.
10 Oct 2026 13:17:47
Chewy you haven't a clue. They've been found guilty. Criminals that money launder for example have their assets seized and accounts frozen whilst investigations are ongoing.
Man city are currently still effecting other teams are are operating legally. They absolutely should not be allowed to put a team on the pitch until the proceedings speed up.
10 Oct 2026 16:24:27
I haven't a clue but you're claiming we should halt Citys operations under a sporting body because real criminals can have assets seized under criminal law! ? The Premeier League is not a judiciary system, and its rules are not laws.
I get where you're coming from Ron, but the leagues not going to immediately suspend City when they're already under due process for sanction, not unless City were currently non-compliant in a fairly major way. To do that, the league would need considerable reason, they had stronger grounds to implement a temporary suspension back when City wasn't cooperating with the investigations, it's likely the league did inform City that it was an option at the time, forcing them to reluctantly cooperate, which we know they fought against but eventually gave in to.
Look, I share your sentiment, I would love if City could be suspended immediately, Fowler knows they deserve it, but they're entitled to due process and if the league does anything to compromise this case we could see City get the whole thing overturned in the high court. I would rather the league was cautious enough to ensure that any sanction, intermediary or otherwise is built on solid foundations and procedurally inarguable.
d15 what I should have said was due process in relation to the sanctions and not the appeal. Yes, you're right, the league can issue a sanction despite an appeal on the decision being in place.
11 Oct 2026 12:59:07
I'm with Chewy on this. I'd rather this was procedurally as water tight as possible so that they don't have any room to weasel out if it.
09 Oct 2026 13:13:56
Just wondering how the Manchester City charges are being reported in Europe. I assume it is big news there as well. Thinking Inter who lost to City in the final. Surely the cheating has been on going even after the current charges.
Agree3
11 Oct 2026 13:00:53
If City are going to use this defence that the money came from Abu Dhabi government then I'd imagine that CAS & The US senate committee on transport may want to review their proceedings with both Man City & Etihad Airways.
09 Oct 2026 10:59:16
Just read this online:
"City's monumental success due to monumental cheating, should receive a monumental sentence."
I concur, btw.
Agree15
09 Oct 2026 11:45:15
Absolutely, whatever happens, the punihment must go out of its way to ensure there's no chance of them rejoining the Premiership for at least 5 years. Anything less than that is an absolute disrace.
09 Oct 2026 14:10:23
Not saying your wrong Chewy but I'd be amazed if it's anything even near as severe as that.60 odd point deduction to paint it as certain relegation, until they have a 90 odd point season nd end up staying up anyway. A massive fine also that will be like spare change to their owners.
09 Oct 2026 14:41:16
I completely agree Florian, I don't actually see it going there, that's just what believe should happen. Personal feelings aside, to be so blatantly cheating for (over) a decade would undoubtedly see you permanently banned and titles stripped in almost any other sport. Whatever City get, it won't be enough.
10 Oct 2026 10:43:51
How can you concur with a monumental sentence from a quote that doesn't actually say what the monumental sentence is and bear in mind that any sentence is dependent on the appeal from Manchester City so a monumental can't actually be enforced, yet.
Oooh, I've just realised what a monumental sentence looks like.
10 Oct 2026 11:25:27
That comment was a monumental load of sh** ?.
11 Oct 2026 12:24:46
Monuments are often full of sh**t, Chew Chew.
I blame that Phil Daniels for feeding the pigeons and sometimes feeding the sparrows too.
I don't care if it gives him an enormous sense of wellbeing or not.
Grrrrr.
