Why haven't we sacked him yet?

It's hard to sack someone who's constantly in transit between Manchester and The Netherlands.

It's been clear since November that we had little to lose by replacing Slot. And the past five months have seen us continue to struggle.
Right now, we still have absolutely nothing to lose by sacking Slot.
So why are we still clinging on to nothing? Is the board that deluded?
Or are we just being mocked?

It's starting to feel intentional, isn't it, Red...

He’s turned mentality monsters into mentality pygmies.

I’d take Roy or ‘Arry for the last few games rather than Slot right now.

Stevie, we need your passion.

Has the fraud gone yet?!?

Hatred is a very strong word and a word that should not be used, but it's exactly what I feel towards Slot, Hughes and Edwards as this absolute circus continually gets worse and worse every week. Are FSG really that stupid and blinkered that they can't see what's happening in front of their eyes?

Get this clown out of my club. No plan, no structure, no fitness, no cohesion, no clue. Utterly embarrassing.

I'm just waiting for Faith & Florian to tell us how Slot needs more time.

04 Apr 2026 19:37:38
Surely he's toast at the end of the season, or a game or two from it?
Then it's Xabi Alonso.

Arne Slot: The worst ever football manager to win the Premier League?

Discuss.

He was a good manager last year, but has lost his head this season. Got notions about how the game should be played and how players should be coached and conditioned that clearly don't work, and he hasn't changed his tack despite the obvious evidence that what he's doing is detrimental.

A title winning team, £400m spent on it, and on good players too. It's not like Wirtz, Kerkez, and Frimpong have been bad, and we're going to struggle to get 5th.

04 Apr 2026 14:38:43
Toss up between Slot and Ranieri to be fair.

04 Apr 2026 14:42:35
Luckiest.

04 Apr 2026 14:47:13
Luckiest, maybe in terms of last season. I think he's looking lost, and short of ideas, and the job looks way too big for him.

04 Apr 2026 14:51:34
The trouble is he's obviously not that bad a coach, Mick. He's won leagues in two countries and cups as well. Where he's failed is refusing to adapt when what he knows isn't working, and also not motivating, and keeping the players' chins up when the chips are down.

04 Apr 2026 15:40:50
I think you need to be special to succeed over a longer time frame at any big club, the pressure and expectation is unique. Arne probably is a very good coach, but it's not looking like he can turn this around. He doesn't seem to be able to extract the best out of the players, and those around him seem equally lost.

The only scenario where he might is if we bought exceptionally well in the summer, but given the missteps of the last three windows, I wouldn't be confident we have the right transfer panel to identify what we need.

The players we are being linked with don't suggest there is an understanding of what we really need to get us flying again, whereas Jurgen, for example, just had that gut instinct for a player, and then the raw emotion to drive us on when talent wasn't enough. Sad times.

04 Apr 2026 16:25:56
Ranieri did not have a team built and in place like Slot had thanks to Klopp.
No excuses the Dutch coaches who have been in the premier have struggled their national team have won nothing for years they try to implement total football where ever they manage and to be honest it is boring football.

Given Slot managed to win the league i wish him no disrespect but his time has run it's course and he has to go and i mean tonight i don't care about champions league or final finishing position it has gone beyond that before we spiral out of control.

If it's true about Alonso and possibly Thiago and Gerrard, then who would be the defensive specialist coach? After our defensive frailties this season, think one is necessary. Would you be interested, Carra?

Where have you heard this, Lancaster?

03 Apr 2026 16:04:40
Hendo or Milly as no2 for me.

03 Apr 2026 20:07:07
Gerrard seems absolutely determined to be involved on an assistant manager/manager level with the club. The recent Sky Stick to the Script program was pretty insightful of that. Of course, we already know this first hand through the various posts from Carra.

04 Apr 2026 07:29:05
The new manager/Head coach should choose their own backroom staff.

04 Apr 2026 14:21:54
No thanks, Ron. Slot brought his own Lead physical Performance Coach. Look how that turned out. Get the best man in for each job, no more nepotism.

03 Apr 2026 11:48:16
Morgan Rogers anyone ? We'd probably end up with Ted Rogers.

No thanks. One paced and not a winger.

03 Apr 2026 23:48:40
Or, worst still, Dusty Bin. ?

04 Apr 2026 08:30:54
Christian Poulsen was his real name, Barry. I've seen faster glaciers.
