Hi Ed002

I know this a hypothetical scenario but who do you think would be realistic targets as replacements for Liverpool if both Mane and Salah were to leave?

Looking for your own opinion as much as anything.

But if there's known interest in replacement options, please do tell.

{Ed002's Note - I think targets for replacing Salay would remain as previously discussed. If Mane were to leave the club would have to think about options they already have in Diaz and potentially Jota.}

Gnabry would be a brilliant signing if Salah was to leave. Imagine the torment opposition teams would be subjected to, facing up against Diaz and Gnabry every week. They're both so direct.

Hey fans just passing on some info.

Liverpool have submitted a substantial offer for cody gakpo.

Also klopp wants to add tonali of milan. But milan won't sell. They want to sell kessie though.

For all that is have been told that club is pretty much prepared to loose both mane and salah in same window and refresh the front line than loose them one by one.
Also not talked on here enough mane’s new contract demands are significant. He is also talking to 2 clubs.
Club is ready to go big this summer in the market if top stars donot agree contract extentions. Liverpool board is clear nobody is leaving on a free.

I’d rather we bought Tchouameni than Tonali, I’m afraid we’d be signing another mummies boy who gets homesick and cries off the first time he goes to tackle someone. As for Gakpo, let Arsenal overpay for him.

Liverpool are not interested in the french lad. But we have funds and are ready to make significant investments if top stars don't agree extensions. Liverpool have offered salah a huge deal but he is yet to put pen to paper.

Overlooking Tchouameni for someone like Tonali would be extremely negligent. Tonali is about as fast and mobile as the QE2 and not at all suited to the premier league. That and I still have nightmares about us signing Bert Water. I think it is clear that our midfield needs attention with aging players (Henderson, Milner Thiago) and ones who aren’t really effective enough (Keita, Ox, Jones), the logical signing would be Tchouameni as he can play 6 or 8 quite easily and at 22 he’s only going to keep getting better.

Tchouameni by all accounts elsewhere is the main target, and the best fit, from what i can tell. What happened to Neuhaus? He looks to be a good rotation with Thiago, for those many games he misses through injury.

I have not enjoyed the cut of Salah's self centred jib lately. His post match after the Villarreal smacked of Me me me, as did his recent post about being the best. All at a time when his form is down the toilet.
The team is greater than any one part, and if Mane and Mo want one last big move, let them go, but not for nowt.

Tonali would be an excellent signing. Good range of passing, very agile, huge amounts of energy, and very good defensively. He'd be a perfect player on the side of our midfield in the Hendo or the Thiago role. No way Milan will sell him though in my opinion.

I haven't seen enough of Tchouameni to debate who is better, but anybody trying to imply Tonali is anything other than an absolute baller needs to watch AC Milan more closely in my opinion! VVVV especially suggesting he is virtually immobile just smacks of never having watched him play. Some of his main assets are his mobility and defensive involvements such as pressures and interceptions.

Never seen Gakpo play so won't comment on that rumour other than to say it suggests Mane might be on his way. All i know is what i've read, which is that he is left winger who can play as a striker.

Either that or Klopp sees Gakpo as a striker. Or maybe Mane stays and plays on the right wing.

Actually there are a couple of clubs (i have no idea which) that are talking to mane (i don't know if this is with his agent or what) . However, There are absolutely zero enquiries for salah. I don't get why he isn't signing a new deal. Any ways as told before his agent has p. ed someone very high up in liverpool and salah’s post afcon form has not helped his cause.
Unfortunately lads i think we might have to stick around with this drama for another year.

It sure fits the profile of what we're looking at. Highly skilled versatile midfielders who can contribute on either side of the midfield, but also serve as a successor to Fabinho while providing cover/ relief at the same time. I prefer Tchouameni, but Tonali intrigues me too.
