I have it on good authority that Liverpool are now back to looking at previous targets in the European leagues given the valuations of players in the PL (Minteh, Sarr) deemed too expensive.

Liverpool aim to buy not 2 but 3 wingers in this window along with a central midfielder, with no other positions being deemed necessary by Hughes and Iraola.

Now the Barcola deal is all but finalised. The next target remains Mbaye and talks are progressing well with PSG, with the expectation from Liverpool being that the fee will reduce nearer the transfer deadline, ala Barcola.
Liverpool are increasingly confident of getting the Mbaye deal over the line given the player's desire to join and on-going good relations with PSG.

The other option I'm hearing, and discussed tentatively when Liverpool enquired to Real Madrid about Endrick, is Brahim Diaz.
I'm hearing Madrid would be open to a deal for Diaz rather than let Endrick leave, given Endrick's age and the potential that Real see in him.


I'm hearing Liverpool will begin negotiations with Madrid early next week.

Thirdly, I've been told to expect Liverpool to open negotiations with Monaco for Lamine Camara next week also, with the player keen on the move also.

Outgoings: I've been told clubs in Germany have enquired about Harvey Elliott with a move outside the PL expected, Chiesa will likely head back to Italy and Endo is being tracked by Fulham, Celtic and a club in Saudi.

Lastly, I've been told that it was always in the plan for Liverpool to conclude deals as late in the window as possible in order to achieve the best possible value.
Not a tactic I personally agree with, but financially this is the way that the club / Hughes have decided to attack this window.

I would like to get Mbaye and a defensive midfielder. Hopefully getting Mbaye does not mean that we sell Gakpo, since I feel we would need him given the way Iraola wants to play, which demands a lot of energy, and Isak will get hurt given his history.



Now, regarding the defensive midfielder, my question to people is who is a defensive midfielder, or at least a midfielder who likes to defend, besides Camara? I really want to know options from other people just to hear opinions on the matter.

Congratulations to everyone who called Barcola to Liverpool 'done' in June, only took 8 weeks to announce it...

I understand Liverpool did tell PSG they would move on to other targets and that got matters moving.

I got the wrong end of the stick on Minteh. Too much excitement going on, and missed a key point.

It wasn't done and there's no chance of going back. Sorry for the wrong info.

I'm told, however, Liverpool have no interest in Camara. People have put 2 and 2 together and got 5. Liverpool reps are in Monaco for the CL draw but some associate that with Camara.

The Barcola deal will be announced officially via the LFC Channel exclusively. It will not be in the public domain for one and all, Twitter, X, etc.

They are making subscribers like me their first port of call, rather than any Tom, Dick and Harry who don't pay anything to the LFC Channel.

Every signing in the past has been done like this, since the LFC Channel first opened its doors to paying subscribers!

So the fastest Player in the league sprinted past Kerkez to score. Now Kerkez is terrible and countless comments say we need a new LB. The despair I feel by how dumb some of our fans are is turely depressing. Taking a break from the site until we win some matches, maybe the Trolls will vanish. Take care all.

I agree the overreaction is a bit much. But Kerkez should have done more, he should have held Elanga up well before he became a threat. If his situational awareness was on point, he could have dealt with it better. There was no physical challenge on Elanga. Kerkez tried to outrun him when he should have been outmuscling him.

tbh, the best thing he could have done was to just foul him early and give away a free kick inside Newcastle's own half, sure, he woud have got booked, but you couldn't call it a goalscoring opportunity that early in the play, so he would have stayed on the pitch and we wouldn't have conceeded.

Bloke was just outpaced by a flyer. We shouldn't have been as open, but Newcastle exploited it well. Kerkez was certainly not the most to blame for that goal.

Most people hated the dull football delivered last season. This season we go on the front foot and not people complain we cannot defend. Go and watch Arsenal.

You could blame Grav, Szobo, Van Dyke and Ali as much as Kerkez for that goal. It was a total mess. As for Kerkez, he probably should have committed a foul and taken a yellow card early on in the move.

I can confirm that Barcola is done but the what you don't know is his younger brother Ronny Diet Barcola is also signing, and although he is only 9, he is the better player.


Minteh will not be signing because he got a little fresh with my wife at a barbeque after his physical. Also, he's quite annoying, talked all afternoon about The Great British Sowing Bee, he's obsessed.
