What a difference a week makes! A return to what made us so good last season, along with some much needed fire in the players bellies, and we look like a team born anew. Nice to get the win, but even nice to do it with a great performance, which, let’s all be honest, is what we were most worried about. The disjointed, seemingly disinterested displays we had been putting on were becoming a worry, and before the Villa game, genuinely felt like we weren’t going to break out of it any time soon. Last nights game was everything you want to see from us, at a time when we needed it most.

I hold my hands up, my normally positive attitude was waning and I couldn’t see a way out, but I was wrong, the lads and the manager have done us proud yet again.
A little happy side note, great to see Virgil give it to Rooney in the interview after the game. So many lazy pundits around, particularly ex players, getting paid a fortune for their stupid, clickbait friendly opinions, it was good to see a player actually call it out.
