For me, it has been a great season; we have had so many injuries to cope with, we have new players to bed in, we have had to put up with some of the worst refereeing i've ever seen and we've had some really bad VAR decisions.

We've had Jurgen put his notice in, we have also had backroom staff put in their notice, we have finished third in the champions league, we have the league cup and got to the quarterfinal of the fa cup and uefa cup. We also have some very exciting youngsters coming through, so how can some fans think it's an anticlimax?

Because we all moan about how City’s financial power makes them unassailable in the league, but in the Europa League WE were the Man City. Not one team in the competition this year has a playing budget that can compete with ours. We even got on the good side of the draw.

I can live with not winning the Premier League or FA Cup. City are favourites for them every year anyway. But the Europa league, we should at least have got to the final and that for me would’ve been the ultimate send off for Klopp, him winning the only trophy he failed to win at the club, in Dublin, on another famous European night. Instead he goes out in a dead rubber against Wolves. How is that not an anti climax? His last 3 games were effectively dead rubbers. That doesn’t do our season or Klopp’s tenure any justice at all. We’ve been more than that under Jürgen.

Objectively it’s not been a bad season at all, 3rd and a Cup. But come on mate, you’re lying to yourself if you really think this is the send off Klopp deserves. It’s also a little bit insulting towards what he’s achieved to think this is a befitting end for the greatest manager we’ve had for about 30 years. I wanted and expected more from this season.

Fans can think it was a great season and fans can think it was a poor season and everything in between. Everyone thinks differently.

I’m sure the owners, management and players will all have their own opinions on the season and those might very well be different as well.

I’d imagine Bradley will think it’s been the best season of his career whilst Salah will probably have another view for example.

Main thing now is signing off the big man with the reception he deserves.

The Europa League was nothing other than a massive disappointment.

I can cope with getting beat in a cup tie but that double wet fart of a performance was so un-Klopp like.

I think the way we completely fell away and imploded was extremely disappointing.

I agree wassa. It proved to me this squad isn’t ready for the champions league if it’s getting embarrassed at home by Atalanta.

{Ed025's Note - can we just leave all the negative stuff for another day guys?, this is a joyful day of celebration to pay homage to one of the best managers you or the premier league have ever seen, enjoy the day seize the moment and shed a tear or two if you want...let the moaning start tomorrow..cheers..

Interesting that Jurgen said the other day that the best game we have played in the time he’s been here was against City this season. I don’t think the season has been bad at all. I appreciate it has been something of a let down in terms of winning cups but even so, we have achieved more than Chelsea who will scrape into the European Thursday night Conference thing if they are lucky. Similarly Seven’s team or Eddie’ Newcastle. None of the three have won anything this season (and yes I know United are in the FA Cup final, but seriously) . Arsenal have won nothing. Tottenham have won nothing either. Our disappointing end to the season needs to be seen in context. Last August - on this very forum - people were very negative about our prospects. Now they are negative about us not winning more. League Cup winners and qualification for the Champions League is more than any of the clubs mentioned above have achieved.

Mk klopp was not the only one to miss out on one trophy mate shanks European cup, Paisey fa cup, fagan the old league 1 trophy it is disapointing mk mate but klopp is in there with some rather special managers mate and i for one am grateful for what he won for us his love for us and our love for him and i wish he could of won everything but it was not to be buddy . We are all give praise to Jurgen and rightly so but let's also give praise to his wife Ulla who told him Liverpool football club was the club for him . YNWA.

Ed025, you're an absolute diamond, and I fully appreciate you saying that, but some people should be a tad embarrassed that it took a blue to tell them like it is!

{Ed025's Note - cheers RP..

Thank you Ed025 for that comment it shows your decency putting aside club.

Kudos Ed25. When one of your rival's fan say something like what you say, it says something about what a man and a manager Jurgen Klopp is. What a legend he is, Jurgen Klopp.

Ed025 ❤️?.

It’s been a good season, 82 points is decent and we won a trophy. Yes it could and should have been better but the club is left in a good place. Klopp has been brilliant and deserves the send off he’s getting and he’s right we all need to get behind Slot.

The fact that Ed25 has to knock some sense into certain people on such a day where we are celebrating the departure one of our greatest managers and one of the best to ever roam the sidelines in English football, just shows how some of us are simply unable to leave their negativity and anger to the side. Sad.

That being said, it has been a good season under the circumstances and what we all thought we could achieve going in. Could things have been better? Obviously yes BUT if you did not think we would do better than what you thought we would achieve then, you cannot come and say it was a bad season. Sorry, that ain't going to work.

Ed25 showing his class again. Couldn’t have said it better.

{Ed025's Note - thanks NK..

Don’t mind saying it as a 52 year old but I shed one or two today as well. That big smile is just so infectious. Will be so very missed. Will be weird not seeing him in the dugout next season.
Best of luck to the new Man, Arne.
Ps wasn’t it great to see Kenny there again today. What a legend.
