Spot on review ed1, Karen Horner does get a lot of decisions his teams way.

I couldn’t agree more on all the points you made eds1. Firstly Micheal massy has to go. He is clearly not up to the job in any shape or form. How he got the job is beyond me! My choice would be an ex driver. And the point about the younger drivers copying max is bang on mate. His driving like someone who only cares about himself and stuff anyone’s else’s safety. There are two ways this is going to end either he seriously injured someone or he get a black flag. Unfortunately I think it will be the injury. I can’t wait for the last race. Am not Lewis’s biggest fan but as the season has gone on the more I want him to win only because max is a spoiled it child.

{Ed001's Note - same with me on Lewis. He is not a favourite of mine but I am desperate for him to win it now. I feel like those Brazilian fans who threw their support behind him.}

I actually really enjoyed the race. Only because of the drama and there was a lot of that!
F1 can be very boring but this year it is exciting.
I'm not a Lewis fan but would like an Englishman to be the GOAT. It is nice to see him being challenged though and I'm convinced that so many calls go against him to try and levels things up. That isn't right but it is making for an exciting finish.

Can I ask again please, why do these F1 posts appear on the Banter pages? Anything non footy related, gets booted, same for non-LFC related posts. So why are F1 posts allowed? F1 at best, is tedious in my opinion, since Senna died.

{Ed001's Note - scroll past and stop being a tit. If you don't like it, I am happy to delete your account so you can bore someone else with your whines about what you get on a free site.}

Who is your favourite driver Ed001? George vs Lewis should be an interesting battle next year!

Verstappen must be having a massive impact on increasing Lewis supporters as I too am not a Lewis fan at all but now am desperate for him to win given the big kid driving the other car. Shocking race for driving I guess but I was totally fixated from start to finish and prob more excited than I had been for a race since 2016. Roll on the final race.

I feel like the minority on here, but I’m a big supporter of Max this year and desperate for him to win. Lewis’ petulance, arrogance and disregard for his team when he doesn’t win is very irritating.

I’m actually a big mclaren fan and would have loved Norris to continue his early season form (even named our new puppy Lando! ) but since it’s only Max that can beat Lewis now, I will be cheering him on for the final weekend

Overall what a fanatic title fight it has been though, thoroughly enjoyable and lots of ups and downs.

Great review and totally agree, Max is either going to kill himself or one of the other drivers. It was only a few weeks that the halo saved Lewis life after Max drove on top of him. Really behind Lewis for number 8 but I am a big fan of Lewis anyway.

1st F1 race i've watched for a long time. The new track played its part in all the drama. Max is a win at all costs driver so expect controversy in final race.

I hope max wins purely as Hamilton sees himself as the next Martin Luther king. He's an agenda pusher for the elites with his silly rainbow helmet and knee taking. Sooner he retires the better imo.

{Ed001's Note - are you for real? You think that any elite would give a toss about LGBT rights or racism? You must be hard of thinking to even consider that as a possibility.}

I have to say I love the F1, so any posts are fine by me 👍. The only thing you can say about Max is that he is still young and slightly immature, not that it should count when you're driving such high powered cars so carelessly. You could also get a feeling of the pressure he is feeling with his "chatter" on the radio and also how he walked off stage and Lewis and Bottas celebrated at the end.

{Ed001's Note - Max is just like his father and that is not a compliment.}

Hi Ed001. Just wanted to say thanks for the review of the F1 (Saudi) . These are as good as your match reviews. We all appreciate how much time these take so cheers for your work mate. I actually always have been a big LH fan, although I do get that he's not everyone's favourite. I think Sunday will be epic - and just hope it stays on the track and doesn't get decided in the Stewards Office - which you could almost give to Red Bull now if that's the case. Fingers crossed that LH wins and we can sit back and watch Christian Horner whinge all winter. Lol.

{Ed001's Note - if Max gets the chance, I expect it will be just like Prost-Senna and Senna-Prost in Japan sadly.}

Cheers for this ed001, great read.

I must say I am team max, I am not a fan of Lewis at all although I am glad he made a point for LGBT rights and human rights in Saudi.

Did anyone notice Lewis acting like he was exhausted after the race when seconds prior he was dancing around like a loon. People may argue that's adrenaline kicking off but I think he just plays up to the cameras. As much as he is an unbelievable driver, I just can't warm to him at all.

Max is definitely on the aggressive side but I do feel he moved over to let Hamilton passed. Then hesitancy from both drivers, max didn't know what Hamilton was doing and vice versa led to the incident. The penalty he got was just to show they looked at it, I'm adamant he wouldn't of got 10 seconds if he meant he lost a place.

As for the officials, I actually think they have been trying to engineer it going to the wire more then anything else. But Masi is definitely the go between and I often question how much decision making he does. I feel he is a bit like Mike Dean wanting the attention.

Lastly the point for fastest lap is stupid. Itd be like awarding a bonus point in football for the most possession. Being fastest over one lap has no bearing over the result. I think its designed more towards the constructors championship then the drivers. Maybe moving forward they could only let it count towards team points?

PetePrice you really think the elites care about black peoples lives or LGBT rights? wow that's hilarious, and why is it silly to wear a rainbow helmet to show some support for a group of people that have been bashed left right and centre for no reason other then sexual preference same as taking a knee for black lives. GROW UP.

07 Dec 2021 16:39:31
If anyone thinks that any officials have been engineering anything so the F1 goes to the wire, then that is tantamount to cheating and we might as well switch off now.
I like to believe that Red Bull and Max have just improved gradually over the years hence making it closer than ever. I mean why engineer anything this year and not before? Conspiracy theory if you ask me 🤔.

It's a tool used to divide and conquer. Teaching five year old kids they can be whatever gender they want?

Pushing the BLM narrative backed by Soros of all people.

Amazing how naive some of you are

I fully support equality but Lewis should stick to racing not preaching, moaning about black rights yet white working class are the most underprivileged.

Marcus rashford is a true hero Lewis is an idiot

Apologies if I upset anyone. Peace.

{Ed001's Note - nothing white is the most underprivileged, it is naive or stupid or ignorant to suggest as much.}

18.) 07 Dec 2021
07 Dec 2021 18:22:36
I meant in the UK, reports have came out in the UK mainstream media that bame background people are more likely to take university places and be in better paid jobs.

Everyone should be equal regardless and Lewis doesn't help he just hinders and divides more than he helps.

Just my opinion but who am I? I'll shut up now and leave my rants for the conspiracy page.

{Ed001's Note - that is more likely to be because they work harder to make up for their disadvantages and are pushed harder by their parents because of it.}

Ed and Kloppers - thank you for sane replies to a really twisted posting. I’d say it was unbelievable but it just shows how far the agenda of the right has infiltrated sport. To be resisted at every level.

Just came on to add my voice to everything Ed.001 said. Divisions have been here for centuries, the fact that they are being highlighted to the point where certain people can't ignore them is a good thing. We will have to go through a period of adjustment/ wokeness to get to the place where everyone on here says they want to be. It won't happen by being quiet. Hence my post. Ed.001 I'm with you mate.

{Ed001's Note - when idiots are quoting the fascist Clarkson to back their opinions, you know the world is in trouble!}

Equity is different to equality. Giving someone a leg up after they've had their legs chopped off isn't the same as disadvantaging someone who has both their legs.

Eds I like the f1 posts. I don’t watch it much any more but listen to the podcasts mainly. I would like vwrstappen to win just to end the Mercedes-Hamilton domination, but his behaviour at times on track is disgraceful. For me Lewis tries to hard to be liked. I just think with his lifestyle he has no right talking about being vegan to save the planet and that he is a twit for trying to sue Hamilton watches. I think he is a good person though and well-meaning but fame, money and lifestyle has got to him, which is to be expected when you achieve his level of success. I must say he is a great racer though, and deserves number 8! I just hope Qatar is an even fight, with no shenanigans!

24.) 08 Dec 2021
08 Dec 2021 13:23:21
I have to say, I was in line with Navy Keith's views for a good portion of the season. Plus I think Verstappen's had the better season overall. He had a 30 point lead wiped out in the middle of the season between the Silverstone crash, which imo was a no fault racing incident, and being taken out by Bottas at the start of Hungary, which he had no control over and yet is still level on points.

But he's driven like such a berk in the last few races, and Horner's been such a whiny baby, that it's very difficult to continue to support him and his team. And it hasn't actually benefited him on the scoreboard. In both Brazil and Saudi Arabia, it was fairly obvious that Hamilton had a pace advantage and would inevitably pass, which he did. So all Verstappen's ridiculous blocking has done is make him look like a twat. He would still be in the same position in the WDC, but be considered far less obnoxious if he'd defended normally.

Maybe I'll react differently when we have a result after Abu Dhabi, but I think I'm at the point of not caring which of them wins. I'm just looking forward to 2022 where hopefully we won't have 2 drivers that can routinely finish a whole pitstop ahead of the rest of the grid, including their team mates. But I suspect that Merc will steal a march on everyone else on the new regs again.

Definitely minority opinion here, but I feel a bit sorry for Masi. I think there's a certain degree of pressure on him from above to maintain 'the spectacle' and not interfere by penalising the leading two drivers unless they really take the p. (which is benefiting Max as he's doing more things worthy of penalties) . He also was only assistant to Whiting for a year or two, so he doesn't have a long track record and the teams don't respect him and are challenging him in a way they never dared to challenge Whiting.

Good sum up of the race Ed! I for one absolutely loved it and its thrilling having 2 drivers going into the last race on the exact same points.

I am a big Hamilton fan and obviously this is biased. however, I said a few weeks back that if Lewis wins this championship then he is officially the GOAT.

You probably don't get involved too much in talk about the GOAT ed but I am interested to hear what you think about that statement?

{Ed001's Note - hard to say as it is a totally different skill now. In the past, without downforce, they had to drive it on the mechanical grip. I just don't think you can compare the eras. He has to be considered the best of the modern era though.}

26.) 08 Dec 2021
08 Dec 2021 16:15:29
Yeah, I suppose it is very tough to compare different era's like with Football, Tennis and Basketball etc. Although as it's an individual sport I suppose easier than others.

I don't like how people diminish Hamilton's achievements by stating "He's always had the fastest car". It's really not that simple and I also feel like he has a massive input into strategy and how the car operates etc. The man knows his stuff and is a crazy talented driver.
