Hi to all the EDS and fellow REDS

With Milan saying there has been no offers from Liverpool it really means that there HAS been an offer from Liverpool.
Well I rate Ballotelli but even if things don't work out, he is going to be entertaining to say the least.
Liverpool will make whoever comes into a very very good player. so all are welcome.

IranRed in London

{Ed002's Note - No, they are being straight forward if they say no offer. I confirmed that this morning so unless something has changed in the past few hours, that is where we are.}

Hi to all Eds, great site as always

Is there any truth in us being interested in Mohammad Salah of Basel and Will hughes (old news, I know)?

Salah has always looked a fantastic player. what news Ed? {Ed002's Note - Dortmund, Spurs and Fiorentina have shown an interest in Salah, and Basel will look to sell in January if they drop out of the Champions League. Interest from Liverpool is possible, but unconfirmed. Hughes remains very expensive.}

Hello to all EDS and fellow REDS

So, FSG not so evil after all. Stadium extension on its way, money spent on recruitment and now Klopp! I'm sure my fellow REDS will find something to whinge about. soon.
NEVER FORGET:
'Good things come to those who wait'
and God knows we have waited. and waited.
Looking forward to a manager who knows what to do with his team.
And nice to see other clubs' fans envious or our manager!

Who said FSG were evil? The fans were p****d off because of their blind faith in Brendan, nobody questioned their ambition. Bringing in Klopp is a big statement of intent and hopefully many more will follow. The days of entertaining mediocrity at the the club are over and we should be thankful for that.

2.) 10 Oct 2015 12:59:50
All change again eh ?
Not sure if the staff that have just lost their jobs will feel the love.
Totally agree with ed002, shocking way to treat people, especially those that were only there for two or three months.

3.) 10 Oct 2015 16:19:10
indian there was a few fans who had a go at the owners and they wanted them gone , with getting klopp i hope its a change from getting potential

4.) 10 Oct 2015 17:55:37
There is no room for sentiment in football these days. Brendan was given a chance, regardless of points totals we have been awful this season. A new manager generally always brings a new coaching staff. Sean O'Driscoll and the other lads had to knew Brendan was walking on a tightrope when they arrived and they have all been in the game long enough to understand football so they wouldn't hold any resentment towards the club. They may feel hard done by but that's football.

Ed002 must know one personally hence his views 😜 because it's all football and happens all the time and at no other club would it seem harsh.

{Ed002's Note - My expectation would have been to keep GMcA until the end of the season whilst Klipperty and his folks get used to being at a club where he needs to get his point across in English, which has different nuances in the language to German. This would be typically how clubs work.

I know of a number of folks at other clubs that have had a continuity driven coaching role with the first team - Franck Passi is a good example, Paul Clement stayed in a coaching role as assistant between Hiddink and Ancelotti at Chelsea, Giggs at Manchester United, Brian Kidd at Manchester City. So the successful sides seem to take that approach. Hermann Gerland at Bayern Munich did exctly that as well. Even B teams do it at other clubs - Joan Barbara at Barcelona is a good example.}

Seems to me you lack of knowledge or understanding of the broader game and your desire to justify a particularly bad move by Liverpool is doing no more than making you type stupid comments.}

Hello to all EDS and fellow REDS

Sorry guys, wasn't going to have kneejerk reaction but BR has become an open wound that does not close or heal.

Loaning out all our POTENTIAL talent! Talent he bulls---ed the fans about and his normal smarmy way.
Enough! Owners can't see all this and just ignore. It's not bad business, its terrible business. Illori gone with the option to buy? Why buy this poor lad? He was one of the players of the U23 tournament in the summer wasn't he?
Bad management again and again. Too much wrong to fit into one post. BR must leave, period.
Benteke will be his only striker until we play Carlise, I bet.
He is getting exposed. Suarez made him look good, Sterling carried the team last year but this year we look impotent, lob-sided and bereft of ideas against defensive teams while our strikers sit on the bench. I bet he is cursing Sturridge for getting fit!
Owners must do something before our team is damaged beyond repair or more better players begin to leave. BR's B.S. does not work anymore.

And it's only 3 games in. depressing days ahead unless.

Does that fact that it is 4 games make it any better?

2.) 02 Sep 2015 08:38:57
pretty sure every big club loans out 'potential talent'. that is what the loan system is for. Would you prefer we played our u21's in the league and finished in the bottom half?

3.) 02 Sep 2015 08:41:22
Yeah I really don't get it, Ilori could've gotten games against Bordeaux & Carlisle at least. If Lovren starts against United I hope Sakho goes and gives Rodgers a slap. A few good signings this summer, but the main problem at the heart of our defence remains, Skrtel & Lovren as a pair are always going to be a disaster waiting to happen.

4.) 02 Sep 2015 09:38:51
Skrtel is not a good CB partner to play next to. Everyone who has played next to him has said as much. No communication skills, unpredicatble and can't read the game. No matter who plays next to him they'll be made to look bad. Lovren appears to be in meltdown mode. His performances before joinning us showed a great ball playing defender, albeit a slow one.

Hello to all the EDS and fellow REDS

Whingers will whinge, period.

Better start than most people expected, obviously, but we could and should have won it last night. Ings might have been a more adventurous choice but it's always easier to comment after the event. Ibe will get better as will everyone. Our young squad could come good this season. Despite missing Lallana and Henderson the team performed smoothly. Suddenly everyone's optimistic bar the whingers.

We are getting better and looked more dangerous than Arsenal. 2nd half Arsenal possession was to be expected but we still looked more dangerous than they did!
Overall, let's take the positives and stay optimistic. Also, Coutinho would need a creative partner/assistant.
Now, will BR use 2 upfront against West Ham? Credit to the coaching staff, defence looked solid.
My last point (sorry for the long post) is Lucas. How can BR want to sell him is beyond me. We looked vulnerable the moment he left the field last night. IMO, his going/staying could be a pivotal point in our season.

keep the faith, YNWA
P.S. My Gooner friends down here, are very quiet at work, this morning. Well done and thank you boys.

1.) 25 Aug 2015 15:59:34
Did we win and I've not noticed, your gunner friends are not quite because of a result, there quite because of there start to the season so far! When did we turn into Everton, celebrating a point like plucky under dogs! New breed of Liverpool fan I guess!!

2.) 25 Aug 2015 16:24:05
Yes Waro we celebrate draws now in matches being gifted to us.

3.) 25 Aug 2015 17:21:54
Have to really agree with Waro on this one, poor Arsenal last night that we should have beaten, their CBs were terrible. It's good on paper to get a draw at Arsenal but if we want top 4 after spending 100s millions then we really should take chances like that last night.
My opinion guys but that was two points dropped.

4.) 25 Aug 2015 17:29:12
Apart from a few good years under houllier and istanbul what exactly have we got to shout about. I would say the Everton fans are being pragmatic and maybe we need to start doing that too. NO team has the right to beat any other, its no wonder we are the most hated team in the prem among fans.

Yes i hope we will play well and beat all that come before us but how can we realistically expect to beat every team we face knowing we don't have the best squad or manager. Considering the humiliating end to last season it would not do us any harm showing respect to our opponents and history shows we do not do well against the gunners so yes i'm content with a draw considering we have another 30 plus games to play where i hope we will win the majority of them.

5.) 25 Aug 2015 17:57:27
And not even one mention of your idle Ron.

Stalking someone else now?

Go and stalk two wins and a draw lad!

6.) 25 Aug 2015 18:16:58
I think it will be a good point when we are totting up our total at the end of the season , we have been lucky so far but we are improving imo. I'm a late forty something liverpool fan and a draw away to arsenal was always a decent one to get. We are not perfect by any means but it is positive, Sturridge to come back soon etc etc two tough away fixtures done need I go on lads , enjoy it ff's

7.) 25 Aug 2015 18:24:36
I think most of us are just pleased that the performance showed some good signs, unlike the last two, Waro.

8.) 25 Aug 2015 18:30:58
There is no hope according to bobby! I saw imorovments on the first 2 games, but hey what do i know? I have watched Rossiter since he was in the u18s thinking he was a defensive midfielder or a deep lying playmaker alonso type player but he is a box to box midfielder obviously! I am clueless. Boba let's shut up shop and just give up yeah? The manager sucks, the players suck and we are the best fans in the world! Right? Riiiiight :)

9.) 25 Aug 2015 18:47:27
New breed of Liverpool fan? Where have you been for the last 20 plus years Waro. We are hardly top of the tree or even close. Reality sucks.

10.) 25 Aug 2015 19:49:26
Because Liverpool haven't won the league for 20+years we should now just accept celebrating draws vs top 4 teams. wow how far we have fallen

11.) 25 Aug 2015 23:01:52
Davey are you calling me a lazy scally or what?

I'm not idle, you cheeky get! 😉

12.) 26 Aug 2015 02:30:01
Is there any difference in seeking a top four place to being happy with a draw at arsenal?

Personally I wish we would talk about winning the league rather than aiming for fourth as it implies failure before you begin. Being happy with a draw on the way to that goal however is a reasonable outcome. Not ideal as again we should aim for winning, but still reasonable.

Hello to all the EDS and fellow REDS

rumours and more rumours, can't wait for the window to close and football to start. Exhausted reading nonsense rumours, while wishful thinking about players.
One interesting item for me was a hint of a silly rumour involving Bolasie. Now, IMO, he would be an obvious replacement for Sterling. He's faster and more aggressive. I think he would be scary lining up alongside Benteke and Sturridge, as he is the ideal player for breaking out of defence. Only an opinion anyway. Comment would be welcome. We don't have real pace anymore, now Sterling's gone. why is it teams have too many players nowadays?
P.S. Haven't Stoke city done well. Shaquiri, Affelay and Bojan. Well done whoever's responsible for transfers.

IranRed in London

1.) 12 Aug 2015 15:12:43
Pace isn't the best attribute of Sterling. There is a misconception among people regarding Sterling. He is not an Aaron Lennon. Firmino / Markovic are the ideal players to Sterling in the way they play.
What we miss would be the pace of a striker.

2.) 12 Aug 2015 15:30:13
Bolasie is a nice player but we don't need him as we have enough people to be rid of in Markovic (waste of money), Balotelii (Still scratching my head) and lots more dead wood etc. Plus we bought Firmino and we already have Ibe and Lallana plus Origi and Ings so it wound not be wise to blow more money and I've always said its better to use up the academy talents which we have instead of pointless squandering. BR needs a transfer whiz to help him as he is out of his depth we it comes to that aspect.

3.) 12 Aug 2015 15:37:30
What's the chance of getting a weekly post from you called 'The best of Harry' Ed001?

Could be just what this site needs to hit the mainstream!

{Ed001's Note - not sure 'the best' would apply as a term for his posts....}

4.) 12 Aug 2015 16:00:03
Melbourne

😄😄😄

5.) 12 Aug 2015 16:08:56
I dunno, I think he is an untapped gold mine. I only come on this page to scroll through looking for a reply from Ed002 or yourself, or posts from Harry.

I'm not sure how you'll take that.

{Ed001's Note - I think Harry just appeals to you as he is on your level. We already know you stalk me.....}

6.) 12 Aug 2015 16:11:14
Also, if you have a second Ed001, could you let me know how Van Ginkel looked against your lot. Didn't get a chance to see the game.

Cheers

{Ed001's Note - no one played well for either team mate. He showed some neat touches but it was not a game to judge anyone's performance to be honest. One of their better players though.}

7.) 12 Aug 2015 16:25:25
He is well above my level mate. My simple eyes tricked me into believing Sterlings great asset was his pace! And I only stalk you because Bond has taken the love of my first choice Editor

Cheers for that buddy

8.) 12 Aug 2015 17:50:29
Melbourne

Well that's what a lot believe. But that's just his one of his attributes and something all winger possess. He is a different player to Ibe and completely different player to an out and out winger. Pretty close to what Markovic played at Benfica.

9.) 12 Aug 2015 17:55:40
Bolasie is too hit and miss.

We don't need anymore players enough is enough.

10.) 12 Aug 2015 18:25:18
I'm having enough trouble keeping antibot in line Harry, so I'll just thank you for passing on your knowledge mate. Long may it continue

11.) 12 Aug 2015 23:32:06
Bolasie would be a great option. If only so he doesn't play against us!!! Rips us apart every time!!

Hi to all the EDS and fellow REDS
As promised: no posts through the summer but back with new season.

Good performance today, Stoke will beat a lot of teams there this season. Good resilience and dangerous on the break, our players need time to gel. No complaints and I'm surprised 'our' whingers have already started. come on guys and girls, it's new day. Love to see more than one striker up front.
Overall, good win but it's only the first game, more challenging matches round the corner, but I'm optimistic. You can't expect all the new signings to come out with guns blazing. but the future looks good. YNWA

IranRed in London

{Ed001's Note - sorry but good performance is just a lie. Good result, yes, but the performance was awful. It was a typical first game of the season disjointed effort, no more, no less, but it was about as close to good as I am to being a billionaire.}

1.) 10 Aug 2015 08:50:49
Ed 1 I totally disagree with you'r summary. Chelsea,Arsenal Man U,Spurs and the rest of the games this weekend were awful. Maybe you should have explained to the serial moaners on here that with 4 new players starting it is bound to take a few games for them to get up to speed and to start telling. No wonder Ed2 calls us the worse fans in the world when they moan about a 1 nil away win at Stoke. Chelsea,Arsenal and Man U would take that result all day long

{Ed001's Note - so you disagree because other teams were also awful? That is one of your more idiotic posts, which is saying something from you. Perhaps I should explain to those, like you, who are happy to wallow in mediocrity, that we have had all preseason to bed players in and it never affected Southampton having a whole new team last season? Now please don't just disagree to be a bell like usual, disagree because you have a different opinion, rather than because you agree but you want to be a knob. We were truly dreadful yesterday, the defence was opened up by a simple ball over the top on multiple occasions, we were just lucky Stoke were missing a number of players and were similarly as bad as us. Yes the result is great and I am very happy with it. Yes it was the first game of the season and so I am not going to worry about players not being at their best. But, and it is a huge but, the way we played was terrible, reverting back to the crappy passing around for the sake of it and complete absence of any kind of press. There is no reason to be happy with the performance and if the management are happy with it, then we have a problem coming.}

I'm with you on 'stopping whinging', Mighty, but as you mentioned our three home games must be capitalized on, maximum points to shut whingers up!(myself included).
The whingers whinge about formation and how our philosophy (Rodgers' philosophy) has changed. Criticism must be constructive, as you know.My knowledge of football is playing serious football as a youngster - schoolboy at Villa 1970 - watching from terraces and the settee home. It hardly qualifies me as an expert but even to my ignorant eyes our style of play is nonexistent. I tend to change opinion from game to game; one minute I support BR, next I want him sacked. I've supported the club since 1970 (since the loss to Arsenal FA cup final) and it's hard to grin and bear it. But I'm 100% with you on stopping the whinge. We are better than that. I hope and wish for BR to turn things around and wed start to play to our potential. This experience will have made him a better manager, for sure. Here's hoping for 4 wins.

{Ed001's Note - I really hope that the sudden stories hitting the media, which are no longer all about how Rodgers is a great young manager, are truly FSG preparing the ground for the swing of the axe.}

He was never coming to us. Media hypes things up and some of our fans begin to fantasize. We have moved down a peg or two (more like 6 or 7). Old saying 'you have to speculate to accumulate' comes to mind. Will anyone come to BR? Does anyone know him on the continent? Make of this what you will, but rumours concerning us are all total B.S. unless it's about signing some 17-18 year old in a remote village somewhere with 'bags' of potential! What a joke!
