I draw parallels to last season when our then in form player origi was fouled by an opposition player and injured. But we found something from within the squad and kept a certain amount of momentum.

I do however worry with couts out for what could be six weeks, mane then gone in January, sturridge injured again, ojo still out, ings out. Its not looking too rosy tbh. don't get me wrong i am not hitting the panic button because we still have origi who when he hits a vein on form can be a monster and no need to explain the value of firmino. Plus there is sturridge who is a short term loss as is mane, but i just worry with a congested December we will not get the results we needs and be playing catch up from jan onwards.

Alas no one can tell the future so we just have to wait and see how klopp shuffles the deck. One thing is for sure who ever is available and fit they will fight for wins as we saw on Saturday.

In Short. You wanna Buy 😎.

2.) 28 Nov 2016 17:36:07
Sounds pretty much like what I heard too, Sweet. Let`s just calm down and let the dust clear. I remember Can being out for over a month to 6 weeks with ankle ligament damge last season before the EL game vs Villareal and he worked double sessions in rehab and was ready for the game and played a blinder. The same happened to Origi after the horror tackle from Funes Mori in the derby and he too came back earlier than expected. So can Couts. Now if Klopp needs to buy and the player is out there, we will do all we can as he did for Texeira. If he thinks it`s not worth it and he doesn`t buy, then we need to support him. Look what he did with Milner when many including myself, were clamouring for a new LB. On this issue, I trust Klopp.

3.) 28 Nov 2016 19:42:15
I think it's a 50/ 50 situation for me. Klopp is clearly conservative on his purchases and very much a "value for money" type of buyer. We know from his history, that he likes to buy what he sees as bargains or young players with a tremendous upside. And I don't see him buying players just as replacements for players missing for 4 to 6 weeks (Mane and Coutinho) ; not when there are players on the bench and the U23's who could fill in. And then at the same time I see Klopp as a "just in case" buyer, too. He bought Caulker "just in case" (because Skrtel and another CB were injured) and that didn't work out too well. For some reason, I also think Wijnaldum was a "just in case" purchase too, and it's worked out okay. He may have been worried that some of the youngsters may not be fully ready (Wijnaldum was bought at the tail end of the window - correct me if I'm wrong) . Yes, I know two contradictory views, but that's my thinking at the moment. There's the 3rd option of going for a Coric or a Dahoud in the window but that's more mid to long term move and not really related to Coutinho and Mane being absent.

4.) 28 Nov 2016 22:58:25
Dont know where you got that from, i'm sure the post was in english and from what i posted nothing suggested we look to buy. I just posted a concern and from the words i wrote originally i hope klopp can shuffle the squad to maintain a winning formula with the players we have. Why on earth would we add to an already bloated squad.

Is it me or are the fa being money grubbing so and so's for not moving the sunderland game on 2 jan. The fact that bt sport have power to move the city game on the 31st to a time that suits them financially and the club has no say.

I know klopp will find a way to rotate the players to manage two games in less than 48hrs but it begs the question why are the fa putting clubs in that position in the first place.

Its all about the money and it sickens me, is that what football is just about now.

john barnez

1.) 17 Nov 2016 09:01:57
That's exactly all it is about mate, money money money, winds me up as well. Far too much of the game revolves around money now.

2.) 17 Nov 2016 18:37:55
It`s all money and nothing else, as you clearly stated. LFC vs City is the game of all games that the whole of English football has been waiting for since both teams started jostling for top spot and due to the kind of football they play. Our games recently, especially last season, had the most fireworks in them with us thumping them at home or away so I understand why the FA is trying to make a killing. Still doesn`t explain BT and Sky are mugging both teams over the game for more dough.

3.) 17 Nov 2016 22:31:27
Its all for tv revinue.
Sky / BT call the shots now.
2 games in 48hrs is shocking.

09 Nov 2016 08:20:29
Sorry, i know this is not quite the forum for this but sincere condolences to ed02, sad sad day, i'm guessing you will fast track the relinquishment of you citizenship post haste. Would like to say i'm shocked, but i really am not, i just hope his insular view continues and the havoc that will ensue remains within the borders of the US.

john barnez

{Ed002's Note - Thank you for your thoughts JB. I suspect we will see folks heading for the border again. Vancouver is a nice town.}

1.) 09 Nov 2016 08:41:55
What shook me this morning ed was that 18% of hispanic voters actually voted for him, are they just DF's or do they know something we dont!

{Ed002's Note - I haven't looked at the stats yet but many live in states where there is high unemployment and low wages.}

2.) 09 Nov 2016 09:00:58
Yeah they didn't watch corrupt mainstream media and live in reality, have real problems or concerns . He offers them hope. Whether he keeps his word is another thing.

3.) 09 Nov 2016 09:21:59
I understand the 'become a Canadian citizen' site has crashed due to volume.

4.) 09 Nov 2016 09:25:12
Hope of what my friend, to be shipped back to even more destitution and a big wall built around them. I know it was rhetoric from him but dangerous to even be uttering such nonsense. That man is a loose cannon and he will not be good for america or people of colour in it, period.

5.) 09 Nov 2016 09:33:04
Let's be honest both are as bad as eachother, it made no difference who got in. It came to my mind many times during the capaign how trump or hillary could run a country? you just can't make it up lol. I didn't think he win mind.

6.) 09 Nov 2016 09:33:45
follow up to above:

goo.gl/dqW0pr.

7.) 09 Nov 2016 12:23:13
Big al, you clearly haven't read the mans policies. You have just watched it from a far and because he's a demagogue that says what a ethnic majority are thinking (uneducated majority) he wins a political election having no back round in polictics and not even being able to structure proper sentences. Hilary is bad but trump is worse for the world. Your views are from a ethnically bias place, just like brexit this has racial motives behind it because let's face it, whilst there was good reason for brexit, people that wanted out had racial motives not political ones, and the same applies here. Nigel farage says out with the immigrants (mainly Muslims let's be honest, which has very little to do with the EU anyway) and we have brexit. Donald trump says we need to get rid of Islam and build a wall between the us and Mexico, implying he wants war with countries like Iran etc and would you look at that, trump wins. All you have to do is shout 9/ 11 these days and people will vote for you. So no, this indicates lack of hope, divide and conquer mentality that we play into, and a sign that humanity is not advancing the way it could be.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect the reality of it will be far from many of the particularly stupid things he has said. But the reality may well still be particularly stupid.}

8.) 09 Nov 2016 12:25:22
What I find more worrying is the number of times he has used the phrase "under one god", or words to that affect. He said it again Monday in one of his speeches.

That isn't just his standard rhetoric, nor is it dangerous in itself.

It is, when you think about it, somewhat more chilling altogether.

{Ed002's Note - Whether or not America was founded as a Christian nation or not has always been a matter for debate, but regardless a large majority of Americans retain a belief (although many are no doubt simply gedging their bets). You would do best to take any such statements with a pinch of salt until some emprical evidence exists to substantiate one deitiy that doesn't have an imaginary god (excepting Hinduism that has 320 million imaginary (or not) gods).}

9.) 09 Nov 2016 13:13:03
Ed! I do agree with you the reality of it won't be as stupid as the image he painted however he has played the role of an enabler, in the sense of if the president can do it why should people hold off. Of the top of my head, bigotry, sexism, sexual assault, xenophobia, islamophobia, body shaming, are issues he had made them to be normal everyday thing. Non of his arguments which people thought were a breath of fresh air were backed by policies, vague phrases like it will be so much better and hand gestures should be thought of as policies in my opinion atleast.

10.) 09 Nov 2016 15:44:53
It was the best of two evils this time. A little bit like WWII, either side with Hitler or side with Stalin, OH THE CHOICES!

11.) 09 Nov 2016 15:58:53
Kman the racial card is redundant. A narrative pushed by the corrupt mainstream media your intellect grovels over.
Many brexit and trump supporters aren't racist. Trumps supporters primary concerns are employment and keeping more of their wages in their pockets via lower taxes. After that comes safety and protecting their borders and country from a threat that is currently destroying Europe unless you're living in a bubble like yourself.

As for trying with no context to push the non educated rubbish here's some facts. Here's something for you to grasp at how bad americas is .
America has the lowest labor participation rate since the 1970's.
It has the Lowest home ownership rate in 50 years and there's almost 43 million living in poverty.

As for Trumps policies on how to combat these travel over to the conspiracy page about politics and trump and I'll write away. I'm not writing essays on the Liverpool page.

John the walls a great idea. Even Merkel was inspired. Did you not hear mate? Don't think msm would cover it.
Berlins building a Taller wall than the famous Berlin Wall to separate refugees from the citizens. Ironic isn't it. Not only does it highlight the need for a wall but also the mess in Europe of refugees who were not vetted, are overwhelmingly male and have turned Sweden into the capital of Rape in the world. People need to pull their heads out and get rid of the disease that is political correctness.

12.) 09 Nov 2016 17:43:34
each to their own big al each to their own, you keep convincing yourself of that tripe. Good luck with it all mate.

13.) 09 Nov 2016 17:54:22
I guess being endorsed by the KKK is not considered a racial issue.
At what point did trump suggest lower taxes for people? If he does follow through with his suggestion of lower taxes it will be a model which is lowers taxes on corporations not individuals, and even then its not the federal government that does that, its still very much up to the state to lower the taxes, his other plan was something to the effect of increasing taxes on foreign services and products which will bring jobs back into the country which can be possibly be done, but on the flip side umemployment in the country is very low and it is digging itself out of hole which it was left in by a Bush.

And like I said in my previous post his role as an enabler to actually class all the things as an everyday conversation piece is more of the issue, because half the stuff you mentioned will probably never come to fruition.

14.) 09 Nov 2016 18:11:44
Yes, i hate political correctness. Not being able to exclude, insult and discriminate against people less fortunate than you is awful, isn't it.

15.) 09 Nov 2016 18:39:40
Seems like you've ran out of ideas John

Waqa I'm embarrassed that you're trying to string rubbish together to paint your invalid argument simply because you haven't a clue what you're talking about.
Trump said publicly he didn't want their endorsement, actually he shouted it to his crowd. So there's that cleared up and the message is clear. Stop using the racism card for why trump supporters voted

His tax plan is to reduce taxes to the people. It's not a if/ but, that's apart of his tax plan. He's doing it 👍
He also will reduce taxes down to 10% for corporations. Probably the lowest in the world I believe. What that does is BRING corporations back into America which then supplies mass employment.

You haven't thought it through or you're just out of your depth concerning how an economy works or grows.
As for unemployment is very low? It's utterly TERRIBLE. Black unemployment is at its highest rate in decades?! 43 million Americans are living in poverty. 18 million more people are on food stamp. That largely comes down to unemployment What the hell are you talking about .
Have a great day lad.

16.) 09 Nov 2016 19:03:25
Big Al, you are severely misinformed. Europe is not the U. s ( I live in Ohio and have lived in France as well for 5 years) and even majority of the American people know Trump will do absolutely nothing for them and No, a wall will not be built as congress will not approve that nonsense. Kman2 got it exactly right. Trump has been a demagogue all his life as well as a bigot along with his father. Ever heard of the Central Park 5? Google them and you will see what Trump did to them in the late 80`s. His father used to go to the Klu Kluxx Klan rallies and that`s why that terrorist hate group supported him. The man peddles in demagoguery, sexism, racism, anti-Semitism, sexual assault and the list is endless. This vote was the same as Brexit and mark my words, those who voted for him will be severely disappointed as this is his biggest con job ever after making a career of swindling people and not paying them. Just like Brexit, the American people will wish for a re-vote and it won`t happen. he will do NOTHING for them as he has spent his whole career calling people like his very own supporters, Losers. Stop with the whole mainstream media nonsense. These are his very own words he has used to insult every demographic minority and nothing else. You can youtube it if you like. I voted Clinton because I know she is everything, Trump is not as in not a demagogue, racist, sexist, serial groper, insulter in chief and a crybaby with a twitter handle. He has no plan and none of his policies will pass congress as they are unconstitutional. His tax policy is the same as the ones from every other republican as in tax cuts for the rich and the rest of us pick up the tab. He will do nothing for his minnions who have fallen prey to anger and resentment for every bad thing that happened to them. No jobs, no healthcare, no education, no criminal justice reform, no climate change agenda, Nada. Good luck to those who voted for him and who did not vote to stop him because they will get the govt. they deserve.

17.) 09 Nov 2016 19:25:57
Big Al ever set foot in the states bro? He did get an endorsement from the KKK, which I am assuming was in line with his racist remarks. I agree the media doesn't paint the whole picture but for most parts they are just quoting him word for word, he called a whole nation rapists, drug dealers and some of them maybe good people sorry i missed murderers. He called a whole religion terrorists. Not media reporting made up stuff, his actual words. His words again "grab women by their p****s" classed that as locker room convo. Stiffed his workers over compensation, also admitted. Tax fraud admitted in the second debate I think.

Best word/ s to describe you Big AL would be, in denial or delusional, take your pick?

I am about to have a baby and can't raise my child where half the country aligns with the views that he/ she may not be accepted because of being half pakistani.

Oh and KKK partying it up NC in broad daylight should definitely not be taken as symbol that he has acted as an enabler.

18.) 09 Nov 2016 19:32:54
Oh and you do know that more people actually voted for hillary by a little over 200,000 votes?

19.) 09 Nov 2016 20:17:00
If, a year ago, someone had told me Cameron would resign, UK would leave the EU, Jeremy Corbyn would win 2 Labour Party leadership elections by massive landslides and Donald Trump would be POTUS-elect I would have lost a LOT of money to them 😄

The world has gone a bit mad.

20.) 09 Nov 2016 20:52:33
Spot on, Waqas.

21.) 09 Nov 2016 21:49:59
Big Al, the wall you talk about in Germany is 100m long around a refugee hostel, hardly comparable to a wall the length of the Mexican/ US border.

22.) 10 Nov 2016 02:22:41
All the old European colonial powers are now reaping the rewards of taking over countries and stripping them of their natural resources and drawing new borders through areas where different tribes and sects existed before.
Trump and Farage are taking advantage of this as the establishment has to play by political correctness and cronyism.

Look at Hillsborough for example. They closed ranks for 20 years.

People have had enough of this crap from the establishment and Trump and Farage are cleaning up.

23.) 11 Nov 2016 18:27:04
Cleaning up by peddling racism, islamophobia, xenophobia, sexism and misogyny in addition to promoting rape culture (Trump, in this case) is not cleaning anything up. It is using crap to clean up crap and at that rate, the floor is never clean. You have no idea who trump is. We in the States do and have done for decades and he will do nothing for the people who he claims to be fighting for yet has labeled as losers, throughout his life.

07 Nov 2016 17:45:32
According to john motson chelsea was a better display than lfc vs forrest in 88. And believes if it was a love game (which it was on bt sport) people would be talking about it for weeks. Discuss.

john barnez

{Ed001's Note - difference is we were playing the second best side in England, pretty much, at that time, Chelsea were playing an Everton side missing their best player, who is their driving force from midfield and are still recovering from the Martinez debacle. Motson is just being an arse these days, like all these people do, to make himself seem relevant. That is all they ever do now, they try and stir up controversy. It is sad that honesty has died long ago.}

1.) 07 Nov 2016 18:00:37
I feel the same btw ed and for me it was and excellent display from pedro, hazard and costa, whereas in 88 the whole team were just on it. He also thinks we should not look anywhere else for this years champions. We shall see motey, we shall see.

2.) 07 Nov 2016 21:53:43
Motty may have been a good commentator, but I never thought he was particularly good at analysing teams.

3.) 07 Nov 2016 23:31:33
Ron I've always thought he was a shocking commentator. Used to have to mute match of the day after it took him about 10 minutes to notice Henry scored a backheel!

4.) 07 Nov 2016 23:33:41
Hazard against Everton reminded me of messi.
He was that good.
It just shows that when you have a
manager that believes in you and plays to your strengths you look a different player.
Compare Hazard at the wweekend to any performance he made last year under mourinio. You wouldn't believe it was the same player.

5.) 07 Nov 2016 23:03:27
That being Idrissa Gueye ed1? Didn't know you rated him o highly!

{Ed001's Note - yes and he has been their best player as he was for Villa last season.}

6.) 08 Nov 2016 01:21:45
Don't care for Motson nor what other teams nor their players do. This is an LFC blog is it not?

7.) 08 Nov 2016 03:57:40
Lighten up.

8.) 08 Nov 2016 07:56:57
its actually about 88 lfc and how good they were amd how redicilous it is to compare them to this chelsea team. this is a banter site after all.

07 Nov 2016 08:55:47
I have to say i loved the last goal we scored, sturridge really wanted to score and he made that goal albeit from his deflected shot.

But i have to mention i was very pleased with karius, he looked more himself during this game and was unlucky for the goal against him which he could do nothing about. Hope he continues to grow in confidence and get better as we go on.

john barnez

1.) 07 Nov 2016 09:54:51
Yeah that was a real test yesterday for Karius, he did really well. Sturridge I was a bit gutted for, he deserved atleast one goal, but still, exciting to see his form improving.

2.) 07 Nov 2016 09:55:21
Pretty sure the young 20 year old, newly arrives, first season (first 10ganes) goal keeper will keep improving.

3.) 07 Nov 2016 10:10:30
If sturridge played like that every game he would be straight in the team, he is capable but he doesn't play like that every time. Don't understand why but he can only blame himself.

4.) 07 Nov 2016 10:50:23
I heard the guys in Anfield were singing "if Suarez were still around, he would be on the bench"
This goes to show how much of a team we have become. I am not hearing any SAS or MSN or BBC, we are just hearing about our high-press, highly entertaining, free goal scoring football.
Apologies to Sturridge but i think he needs to be more of a team player to get into this team. Origi is better suited than he is.

5.) 07 Nov 2016 10:51:26
Its normal that our defense and goalkeeper are under pressure because we are always attacking with 5-6 players and anytime there is a counterattack we feel the pressure at the back. This is the main reason why we are conceding in every game. Barcelona team have the same problem, they have conceded in their 8 matches out of 12 this season.

6.) 07 Nov 2016 14:31:24
Sturridge looked outstanding but even then I still think he plays a very different style to Firmino and doesn't run off the ball as effectively or press as hard when we're not in possession - I doubt he ever will and hats such a big part of Klopps system.

I still think he should be part of the big picture though (particularly in an attacking partnership with either a Origi or Firmino who can provide that movement around him) as he is just unstoppable on his day. That curled shot was incredible.

7.) 07 Nov 2016 17:27:13
Honestly that's the best time to play studge when we are a couple goals ahead and maybe taking our foot off the gas, studge will automatically bring a desire to score more goals when he comes on to the pitch in a stretched game where he knows he can exploit the defence.

8.) 08 Nov 2016 01:40:46
LFC with Suarez is nothing like the LFC we are watching today. This LFC under Klopp, is the best I've seen in twenty years, hands down. The fact that Studge can't get on the pitch is just one sign amongst many others, as the reasons why. We were great with SASAS (Suarez, Studge and Sterling) . Now? We are much more devastating with 5/ 6 players having the ability to get into double figures. And we are not even the finished article yet. Just breathtaking stuff, really.

Pretty sure he does not go out there to perform badly, he had an off day it happens to us all. Like i have said we need a better coach than john and we may stand a chance of improving our keepers. Anybody can work 16 hr days but if they do not have the expertise it matters for nought.

Karius comes across as lacking in confidence rather than talent and john has everything to do with that. Also i suspect the prep in terms of scouting opponents just is not being done and that again lies at the door of john. Maybe they should send him to shadow a high performing a couple of days a week to see how it should be done, just a thought.

L8 the very fact he is the first lb we put a bid in for suggests he was first choice mate. You are looking for conspiracy theories where none exist. The fact is the eds who clearly know a lot more about football and lfc have said klopp has no control of finances. We have seen players missed by this club over valuations over the years and usually because of some kind of misguided principles of not paying x for youth players etc. Wont be the last either so we suck it up and move on.

You also suggest the club knew little about chilwell, so why put a bid in then?

GW will not make a demonstrable difference compared to his price tag, average player who will help the squad, nothing more.

Actually it has also been widely reported that the manager of the club that chilwell was on loan to is a friend of klopps and he recommended the lad.

The role klopp has asked him to play means he is not being the dynamic midfielder ed25 obviously favours, unlike the world class players in the everton midfield ehem. If we bought a proper defensive midfielder i imagine hendo would play on the left or right of the midfield three much like lalana and be more of a creative force like he used to. As it stands he is required to be more diciplined defensively and be the water carrier so to speak.

Either way he is effective in the roles he is asked to play in the team and that is all you can ask of the man. Are there better players than hendo in his current role, yes undoubtedly. Is hendo like an ashtray on a motorcycle as ed25 so eloquently put it, well we know that is disingenuous so don't rise to the bait people.

New signing can also change the dynamic and not always for the good. We are reaping the rewards of a decade of excellent recruitment at youth level. It would be a kick in the teeth to those that are genuinely good enough to get games like grugic, ojo, gomez, alex arnold, woodburn etc. So no, i am in favour of giving them the chance to prove themselves and not buy just for buyings sake.

I disagree ron, the coach should be reviewing games with the keepers and ironing out flaws in their game on a week by week basis. The flapping at crosses and suspect positioning are not one offs.

Also much like the manager, the coach also has to find coping mechanisms that help the keepers stay calm in presurrised situations and thereby help them make the right decisions at key moments.

The coach also has to brief the keeper on opposition strikers and their preferred penalty/ free kick direction etc so they are as prepared as possible. There is little evidence of any of the above since valero left and atcheburg was promoted. In fact our keepers have generally gotten worse.

No he cannot be out on the field with them but there is little or no evidence to show he is improving any of our keepers.

Probably won't get posted but i will keep trying. Klopp has to take the boys state of mind into consideration more than anything else and try and protect him. I would personally play him again but obviously klopp has had a word and feels this is the best course of action.

I hope it does not affect him too much and he comes back fighting for his place, and heres to hoping for an error free evening from mignolet who bizarrely some are wishing to fail to prove some point.
