Allan Rodrigues de Souza has signed a new LFC deal and will join Eintracht on a season-long loan - from the club's website.

Just curious ed, we are struggling a lot to get a work permit for him, is this going to be an investment with a view to a sale for a decent fee or are the club looking at him as a 1st team player at some point in the future?

{Ed001's Note - the initial plan was to get him in as a long term first team player, with a view to a sale if he doesn't make it.}

2.) 25 Jul 2018 17:25:49
Has anyone watched him play? Curious to know what he’s like. Ta.

3.) 25 Jul 2018 18:32:23
I haven’t watched him play much, just the occasional game here and there. To me he’s sort of like a mini Alonso, keeps the ball ticking, over with a great eye for a pass and is positionally aware enough to be effective when defending, although obviously he isn’t a powerhouse tackler. Main strengths are his first touch, passing range, vision and calmness on the ball. Main weakness is his somewhat diminutive stature and lack of physical strength.

4.) 25 Jul 2018 19:43:15
Thanks Westwood, hopefully he’ll get his chance with us one day (WP permitting) .

5.) 25 Jul 2018 20:39:16
You could be describing a young Iniesta there.

If only!

Fingers crossed he continues to develop.

{Ed002's Note - I have to say that there are many who see him with a great future but he needs to break out of the situation he is in, get back to South America for a year and then look for a progressive move to Europe.}

6.) 25 Jul 2018 22:41:55
Big Sami in defensive coaching role would be the dream.

7.) 25 Jul 2018 22:43:40
I hope so T Dig buts it looking more and more unlikely every year. I’m surprised he’s sogned a new deal with is to be honest.

8.) 25 Jul 2018 18:52:58
Ed, what exactly does this fella need to achieve in order to be eligible to play in England? What needs to happen? Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - there are loads of ways, from getting citizenship of a European country to playing international football.}

9.) 26 Jul 2018 00:11:59
What is preventing him from getting a work permit? Previous criminal history?

{Ed001's Note - lack of international appearances, lack of citizenship of a European nation etc.}

10.) 26 Jul 2018 10:30:35
Criminal history? Why on Earth would you assume that? Be careful what you say about a player on a rumours website, that's how rumours get started.

11.) 26 Jul 2018 13:45:16
How do Spanish teams ie Madrid buy this kids from South America no issues? Is it to do with having g Spanish heritage or something?

{Ed002's Note - I am not sure what you mean by "no issues". If you are referring to Work Permits then it is simply a matter of the rules being different in England to other European countries - as many of the rules related to the recruitment of players are.}

12.) 26 Jul 2018 15:51:30
I know that several Latin American countries have things in place where their citizens if they live legally in Spain for 2 years they can apply for citizenship. I wonder if Brazil and Portugal have such an arrangement too. Makes you wonder if a loan to Portugal would have been a better move for him than Germany and Greece.

{Ed002's Note - A passport of convenience would not help with any attempt by Liverpool to cheat the system.}

Looks like Allan Souza got himself a very decent loan move to Eintracht Frankfurt. They mentioned it on their official Twitter account.

VDV

1.) 07 Jul 2018 14:17:11
I heard it’s a permanent move?

2.) 08 Jul 2018 13:30:35
He's going on trial with them on their pre-season trip to the US. No guarantee of a move, but hopefully he can impress and finally find a long-term home to get his career going.

Couldn't it mean Juventus are giving him a 20 million euros signing on fee or something? Hehe!

2.) 15 Jan 2018 18:06:49
If you look at the comments, before he says "Kerching", Sturridge also says.
"Fine"
wondered whether it might be a fine for posting a dressing room picture to insta.

3.) 15 Jan 2018 18:07:22
Could be. But it could also be the players getting fined for posting dressing room selfies which are apparently banned.

4.) 15 Jan 2018 18:39:36
It is because when player's posts images of themselves wearing sponsored merchandise they get a little bonus, all the contractual stuff that I know ed002 loves so much.

Peace.

Eds, why would LFC choose to rather lose Emre Can on a free next year than give him a release clause in a new contract? And why would they make this stumbling block to him signing public? Surely the can just quietly put one in if they wanted to?

VDV

1.) 07 Sep 2017 08:00:26
how do you know what you read is even true?

2.) 07 Sep 2017 08:14:04
Oh for god sake. This has been answered multiple times. You can actually find an answer at the very top of the rumours page.

It is almost definitely just Paul Joyce making crap up anyway, due to a slow news day. Ignore it. We are playing City in just over 48 hours. Who cares about made up news stories!

3.) 07 Sep 2017 08:38:01
TBH I honestly don't understand why anyone needs to bother the editors of the site with these types of questions as you can find everything you want to know through a previous page you'd have to visit first call something doogle or goodle, I can't remember again. They're great for inside knowledge of transfers and the likes but questions like that must get very very bloody annoying eventually. Delete, Delete, Delete!

4.) 07 Sep 2017 08:51:03
Who cares! Not for us to worry about anyway. Let's just enjoy the build up and game on Saturday. As supporters that's what we should be doing not trying to second guess everything that goes on at the club!

5.) 07 Sep 2017 08:59:16
The fundamental problem is that there are players in Liverpool's midfield which Klopp prefers. Right now that's Henderson, Lallana and Couts and next season will include Keita and maybe Lemar. Can doesn't see himself becoming a first eleven player and that's why he wants to go. The only thing that will change this is if Klopp changes his opinion of him.

6.) 07 Sep 2017 10:13:53
Can is a very good player something you should consider before making this " I trust Klopp. " statement. Only god knows how Hendo is picked ahead of him! 😄😄.

7.) 07 Sep 2017 12:13:08
I don't understand the release clause thing. Why would that be a carrot for him signing a new contract for us if he already knows juve will come back for him next season regardless? And if he just runs his contract out then he gets a free move to juve where he has been told he will play anyways? The release clause sounds like a smokescreen to me i.e. bull.

8.) 07 Sep 2017 19:01:25
Can's contract situation doesn't bother me at all. We've lost better players and recovered. I just wondered why the release class was brought up out of the blue. Thanks for your responses.

No one else seems to be in for Mignolet as a first choice. So I guess if he's going to No 2 somewhere, Barcelona is probably not a bad place to go - almost certain trophies, nice place to live, being reunited with ex-Liverpool teammates :-), etc.

I doubt we'll put in a bid unless we have are prepared pay what Roma want and know that Alisson will sign.

With the Salah sale, Roma's Pallotta said he and John Henry negotiated the deal in Boston. I expect something similar will happen with Alisson.

If Karius felt disoriented or ill, he could've said something after he conceded the first goal.

And if Liverpool are looking for sympathy on Karius' behalf by letting the hospital release private medical records, then this is just embarrassing. They should just have left it at him owning up to his mistakes like he did after the final. We lost, some of us are actually trying to move on here.

{Ed025's Note - sound like a good idea to me VDV..

I'd love to be proven wrong, but I think Butland is the one who'll be signing. He's not been linked with anyone else.
Being the cynic that I am, seems to me like we're being led to believe that the club wants Alisson or Oblak, but that circumstances/ price will make it impossible.

At least the English media will not be as hard on Butland as they would be on a foreign goalkeeper. The fans, on the other hand, might just go the opposite way if things don't start well with him.

Speaking of wives. turns out, Fabinho's wife was the only ITK posting hints of their future over the weekend. There's a picture of her supporting Liverpool on Saturday night, doing the rounds ;)

But it's also in Spurs' best interest to win on Saturday to secure their Top 4 spot ASAP so that they can rest their players for the CL semi-final.

I'm torn. I would like Spurs to beat Man City in the CL (and PL of course) because winning the CL is what Pep wants and needs. But having Ajax give them the runaround for two probably high-intensity matches - and hopefully beating them - might also be good for us.

I agree with that golden rule. Plus who knows what stupid question he was answering. Football reporters ask the most insipid questions to get the answers they want for their pre-planned story.

I hope our young players like Wilson and Grujic stay patient and get experience on loan elsewhere. Our best players over the last few seasons have all been in their mid to late 20s. Klopp, Edwards, and co seem to have hit on a good formula for recruiting players who are already tried and tested and in their prime to challenge for trophies.

I'm rooting for them to make the FA Cup final. Hopefully, they'll feel like they have bigger fish to fry than us if it comes down to that last match for us.
