Have it on very good authority from a former player and close friend of his father that Oxlade-Chamberlain wants to be a Liverpool player and negotiations are advanced.

1.) 30 May 2017 08:55:55
Personally think if we can get him for a reasonable price he would be a decent àddition.

{Ed025's Note - is there such thing as a reasonable price these days erroll?..

2.) 30 May 2017 09:21:12
I agree erroll I believe he would be a decent signing too, could fill a few positions when there are injuries side to his versatility. Still question marks over his own injury record. Still think he'd be worth a punt, no more than 25 mil though.

3.) 30 May 2017 10:16:26
Play him rb like in ge final?

4.) 30 May 2017 10:30:00
He played left back in the final and was awful.

Play him on the right wing or in attacking midfield where he is best.

5.) 30 May 2017 12:07:20
he is bang average, we shouldn't even be having this conversation, we need top quality if we are to get to the next level, we recruited badly the last time we made the cl, let's not make the same mistake again, our rivals will be buying the very best, we need to do the same.

6.) 30 May 2017 12:07:20
Well for a start he can cover either wing and CM so for me it's a win win if we get him for no more than 25mil.

7.) 30 May 2017 12:47:14
All depends on price, 15-20 million not a bad squad player to have. wouldn't suggest he would displace the front 3/ 4 when all are fit.

8.) 30 May 2017 16:23:21
People slagging off signings like this are not seeing the big picture, he is a reliable, experienced premiership player that's willing to graft for his team. You can't sign a while squad of world beaters, you need utility players that can cover multiple positions and work horses to get you through a season. IF he signs it will add a better depth to our squad so we aren't reliant on filling the bench with 16/ 17 year olds for champions league because of injuries.

Good business in my opinion.

9.) 30 May 2017 19:23:54
So spend up to 25 million on someone who is high risk at getting injured to cover injuries?

10.) 30 May 2017 19:52:08
How can he be reliable when he is often injured, Creg? Also when fit, he is still not good enough and won't start ahead of any of or first eleven. If it is for depth then that is another discussion BUT for now, he is not good enough and will not be a plus to our squad. KK is right on the money here and no, Ox will not be a good piece of business.

11.) 30 May 2017 20:54:26
We have Milner who is a better utility player, surely the £35m quoted would be better spent elsewhere?

02 Apr 2017 08:58:49
Various rumours about James Rodriguez. I don't believe we'll get him but I think we should be careful what we wish for. Seems to me he's always chased the dollar rather than the football. Not convinced he has the conviction for games like yesterday's derby. I be happy to bet a sizeable amount that if he comes to England he'll be regarded as a $50mill+ flop.

Bfrankie1

{Ed025's Note - dont worry frankie hes not going to liverpool, they cant afford him or his wages mate..

1.) 02 Apr 2017 11:30:55
Lazy, overrated, playing to get on the highlight reel. No way he's a player for a Klopp side.

2.) 02 Apr 2017 15:58:18
He's on over 200k a week, there's only 3 teams that afford to pay overrated players that kind of wages.

3.) 02 Apr 2017 18:18:24
Where on earth would you play him? I don't understand people obsession in the similar type of players.

4.) 02 Apr 2017 19:53:36
Pretty sure more than 3 clubs can afford £200k p/ w wages.

5.) 02 Apr 2017 20:03:12
Yeah but it's if they would. Man Utd, Bayern would and real do. Others like Barcelona can afford but just wouldn't go near him, if they think he'll be a flop. Football clubs are businesses owned by rich people who get rich and stay rich by been vigilant going and buying someone who is lazy and money hungry would not be good business.

6.) 02 Apr 2017 20:00:42
I agree Lorenzo. A few months back there was this kid on here called Harry who would just continually get obsessed with a different player every month. It was always a midfield playmaker/ attacker similar to Rodriguez actually; Kovacic, Modric, Cazorla, Dahoud, Banega etc.

Thankfully he has stopped posting now. Just before you showed up actually. Very good post Lorenzo. People definitely do need to stop obsessing over attack minded midfielders ;)

7.) 02 Apr 2017 21:28:32
Ha ha MK
Kovavic, Modric and Carzola are not attacking midfielders mate. They are proper playmakers CM. We bought Wijnaldum last summer for that position hence I moved on from those names!

8.) 03 Apr 2017 14:01:45
Even if we could afford him, doubt Klopp would go near him and his well documented party lifestyle.

9.) 03 Apr 2017 15:41:35
Awful player, stinking attitude, can't be arsed to work hard for the team and is not good enough for our team so no thanks.

Spot on, MK. Insigne is now Harry's new obsession but not to worry, he'll be back talking about how we should have signed Dembele, Insigne, Carzola, Kovacic and Heaven knows what other obsession he would have.

if we don’t get Fekir so what, you can’t miss what you never had. To all the people likening it to Loic Remy, are they saying in light of everything we now know about his career they are still disappointed he didn’t sign for us. The guy was useless, bullet dodged.

Bfrankie1

1.) 10 Jun 2018 10:48:04
Not as useless as his replacement was. (Mario Balotelli)

For the sake of mine and many others sanity can we please have 24 hrs with no whinging. You are not the only ones who know the importance of finishing in the top 4. Listening to you is boring, negativity is boring.
Sakha has to go as does Markovic as they are clearly surplus to requirements. The weakest link in the first team squad is Klaven, who for me gets to much game time. Outside of that I believe we have a squad that's a year older that will be top 4.
We clearly have money to spend because we all but spent it on vvd and Keita. So I my opinion we aren't spending because Koop doesn't believe there are players who would IMPROVE first team. If there were players available I'm sure we would try to get them.

Bfrankie1

1.) 03 Aug 2017 10:18:00
Is this a whinge?

2.) 03 Aug 2017 10:23:19
Sounds like a bit of a whinge to me.

3.) 03 Aug 2017 11:05:49
The OP needs to stop whinging about the whingers.

4.) 03 Aug 2017 11:35:42
Is this a whinging thread as I'm in love a good whinge me.

5.) 03 Aug 2017 13:00:46
Doesn't redbull give you whinge?

6.) 03 Aug 2017 15:43:19
i get whinge just thinking about it!

7.) 03 Aug 2017 16:54:18
if he keeps whinging about the whingers, more people will whinge more, and whinging will be trending more, ok, I will never whinge again .

Whilst I appreciate that without speculation this site wouldn't exist, the negative posters on here really should wind there necks in.
Its irrelevant what business others have done. Spending over £120mill on 3 full backs will not win City the title. Spending 70mill or £90 mill on strikers is only relevant if you need strikers.
If Coutinho leaves it's because he wants to play for Barca, like all South Americans. It's no bearing onus as a club or our ambitions. Personally I don't think he will go.
Just stop being so bloody negative based on nothing other than speculation, it's ridiculous.

Tell me about it. Getting unbearable.
Same old questions, same old bullshit rumours.
The eds do a fantastic job, shame it's not made easy for them.

2.) 26 Jul 2017 08:49:56
I said a few weeks back, us buying a cb and 2x FB will not automatically make us better defensively.

When we are in possession- we are all attackers. When out of possession- we are all defenders.

Everyone needs to do this as, a team. If city continue to have both full backs pushed on, plus all their midfield and they don't make good recovery runs -£110m or not they will still concede.

It's, about striking a balance, which to be fair- I think Chelsea, Spurs and now potentially it's have.

3.) 26 Jul 2017 09:24:31
Spending the money doesn't win the title but strengthening key areas of the team where weaknesses have been identified does and it seems that is what others have done. I think its wha we are trying to do too although so far we have strengthened enough to mount a challenge but not to win the league.
Hope Coutinho stays :)

Hristo Stoichkov for me.

I don't know in what relations this comment has been made, but as a Bulgarian I can only press "agree". He is the answer to almost as many questions as "42"

2.) 10 Sep 2016 03:28:01
Georgie Hagi.

Always the danger of playing a newly promoted side away from home in the first few games. They still have confidence from previous season. If we had played them at there place later in the season I'm sure the outcome would have been different.

Karius has constantly improved and since Christmas conceded fewer goals than all but Man City. He had a nightmare in the final but has since been proven to have been confused. Whatever happened to YNWA, doesn’t it count if you let in a couple in a final.
If we can’t find a better goalkeeper what’s the point in changing for the sake of it. Nobody is happy with the other options anyway unless it’s Alisson, who in my opinion is not worth anything like £90mill.

There was contact and he had every right to go down. All this Salah bashing anyone would think it was a Newcastle fan page. Leave the guy alone he works wonder for us but lately everyone gives him a hard time. He didn’t celebrate enough, he went down to easily, grow up and be supporters of the best god damn team in the world.

Bfrankie1

{Ed0333's Note - I agree with you Bfrankie we should be supporting Salah not castigating him. Salah was fouled, he went down and gave the referee a decision to make, the referee made the decision in our favor.

Is it just me or does Sturridge have a habit of scoring once in a game the switches off because he thinks he’s done his bit. Rarely scores more than and if he scores early you then have 10 men on the pitch.

I don’t know the stats but I would guess players coming to the premier league from Portugal have the lowest success rate of any other league that’s supplied more than 20 players.
I would be very careful of spending big money on anyone from Portugal.
