Darwin Nunez to join Trabzonspor & Mo Salah, might catch me watching a couple of their games next season specially when they play Galatasarsy or Besiktas ?. Hope it works out for both of them.

14 Aug 2026 11:47:10
I'll most definitely be watching.

14 Aug 2026 14:55:03
Yes, the Turkish league is bringing in some good players. Should make a good watch for the two ex Liverpool lads. See Nunez helped Araujo make his choice to join us too!

14 Aug 2026 08:18:19
Imagine that, Bellingham comes to us after getting Trent's head to go the other way

Agree5

14 Aug 2026 08:59:51
More chance of Cristiano Ronaldo signing to play right back.

14 Aug 2026 10:42:52
He should be in prison if he's broken Trent's neck. No fan of him myself, but that's way too far.

14 Aug 2026 14:55:56
This would be funny tbh, but then could also allow Trent to admit his mistake and come home (assuming he covers the cost of the fee out of the signing on fee he pocketed instead of the club getting paid).

13 Aug 2026 22:54:35
Just woke up from a coma. Last thing I heard we are going to sell Xabi Alonso and buy Gareth Barry.

Curious why you've copied my user name. Eds please can you confirm this

{Ed033's Note - MetalMickey will be changed to MetalM from now on or the poster can register a new username,.

14 Aug 2026 00:15:46
Thanks Ed. Struggling to understand why someone would do this. On the one hand imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. On the other hand they need 'help'.

{Ed033's Note - Maybe they didn't know about your version of the username?

14 Aug 2026 10:43:35
I don't think this one requires MI5 mate.

14 Aug 2026 12:35:33
Jesus Christ, didn't realise someone had image rights to "Metal Mickey". ?

It's hardly like you're the originator of this phrase, mate. You're also an extremely infrequent poster, so not exactly celeb status on here.

Let it go. ?

15 Aug 2026 20:11:49
Who's taking the micky then.

13 Aug 2026 21:52:10
I'm really annoyed.

Me and my mates were flying back from a few days in Vegas on a jet. Before we reached the Uk, we stopped to pickup an entourage. The main chap was all smiles and chatted constantly on the trip to Blackpool, whilst we were trying to maximise our kip.

When we landed, him and his boys muscled their way out and into a fleet of black Escalades.

Make of that what you will.

14 Aug 2026 00:30:52
Must have been that snoopidy dog fella because we use Mercedes V-class.

14 Aug 2026 10:01:05
That's the reason for the delay in signing him, Chewy.

He really wanted the Escalades, so we needed to source them first before he arrived.

14 Aug 2026 18:37:29
Snoogie Doogie finally arriving with the spade to put in the middle of Stanley Park?

13 Aug 2026 20:22:27
Have we signed Barcola yet?

Asking for a friend. ??

{Ed025's Note - patience my friend..

13 Aug 2026 16:51:37
Significant progress made today with PSG for Barcola. ?

Cheers.

DjimiT.

13 Aug 2026 19:28:31
Thanks Djimi, appreciate you sharing what info you have. Can you digress on progress? Fee agreed, structure agreed or you just feel it's going the right way? Be great to have your thoughts mate.

13 Aug 2026 20:34:07
CGD, we've been miles apart on price, which is why I've been so insistent on it not being 'done'. Both parties have had very constructive contact today and a fee is very nearly agreed. So much so that I would expect things to progress very quickly, unlikely tomorrow, but possibly over the weekend.

Cheers

DjimiT.

13 Aug 2026 20:45:44
Djimi - that's very good news, although I personally don't think he is value at the money being spoken about. Thanks for sharing. Be nice for us to get another body through the door. Just a midfielder and a RW now and we are good to go.

14 Aug 2026 01:35:07
Sorry, but we've heard all this before. We were falling all over Diomonde all summer, and he was seemingly nailed on. Couldn't care less about Baracola, as there's other areas we need players, more importantly. He's overrated and overpriced, so definitely a Hughes target.

14 Aug 2026 03:03:03
Mr. DjimiT

Are there any other signings underway besides Barcola?

14 Aug 2026 07:40:47
Rokki, keep an eye on Alex Scott....

Cheers

14 Aug 2026 09:59:19
With all due respect, and I'm not having a go at you and I'll make my point further down, but you went from saying the deal was on to claiming it was a complete mess, that Barcola preferred London and Arsenal was his likely destination. Then you said the deal between Liverpool and PSG was at the final stage, doubled down and said that it was extremely close, but then said the deal was nowhere near done and that the clubs were still miles apart on valuation. Then yesterday you claimed Liverpool were on the verge of walking away and today you say we've made huge progress. You claimed all of this inside a week whilst also stating, in your own words, "Nothing I have posted is wrong," as you attempted to slate one of our highly valued posters.

Now, I'm not complaining about your info, I don't know your sources. It was the best info you had at the time. I don't want you to think it's not appreciated because all info is welcome, and I value the time anyone takes to share their tips when there's no obligation whatsoever, but I think it's a bit much for somebody to come on here and flip-flop to the extreme that you have whilst also calling out our trusted poster VictorGoddamn, who regularly shares accurate information and hasn't once changed his stance on Barcola.

Again, I'm not having a go at you, I'm just standing up for Vic, and hopefully showing you why there's a select few who've gained the community's trust. I appreciate that you shared the best info you had at the time, and I do hope you do stick around and continue to share what you can, but after the situation with Vic and him subsequently taking a break, I find it difficult to bite my tongue (nothing new there). My intention is not to step on toes or drive people away.

14 Aug 2026 10:16:33
Absolutely spot on, Chewy.

14 Aug 2026 11:16:41
Standing up for Vic ? who's said it's done since like 1st June and here we are mid August.

Arsenal were interested, I've also posted that AI had a conversation again, and that was the nail in the coffin for him wanting us.

I posted yesterday (not today) that significant progress has been made, and it has. This will break more over the weekend.

The fact of the matter remains, the deal is not done, so you are entitled to your own opinion, but you are wanting to stick up for someone who has said for nearly 2 months the deal is done when it absolutely isn't, hence why he is still not a Liverpool player.

I'll jib off the updates now anyway.

DjimiT out.

14 Aug 2026 11:36:39
Thanks, Djimi T.

14 Aug 2026 12:02:32
Wow, attempting to belittle Vic again.
Speaks for itself that.

13 Aug 2026 13:48:14
Apparently there's a flight leaving Paris later on course for Liverpool . Barcola maybe???

13 Aug 2026 15:18:20
Busy day if so. Was he not in Austria this morning?

13 Aug 2026 18:43:01
I think it's Zed coming back from holiday.

13 Aug 2026 11:03:45
Just been looking through the full squad and it’s pretty crazy how many players we have who just don’t need to be there, so many fringe players just aren’t even young anymore and you will probably be surprised at some of the ages.

For a start we officially have 8 goalkeepers.

Armin Pecsi is 21.
Vitezslav Jaros is 25.
Harvey Davies is 22.

Then with the outfield lads.

Luke Chambers is 22.
Owen Beck is 24.
Isaac Mabaya is 21.
Bajetic and McConell both 21.

Seems to be the case at pretty much every club. Pretty obvious 95% of them are never going to become regulars at Liverpool so surely it should be a priority to sell? Or if they’re even remotely competent could we not chop some of the non-homegrown deadwood like Tsimkas in Chiesa? Surely Beck and Chambers can’t be much worse.

I understand it’s not a video game and we can’t just sell players at the drop of a hat, but surely there would be some interest even if was just a nominal fee? For all the talks of clubs wage bills they don’t have keep some deadwood on the books, players in their 20s who aren’t even getting Carabao Cup minutes. Also got to wonder what the agents are doing as well, surely these lads want games.

Agree3

13 Aug 2026 12:52:23
Mabaya and Beck should've been gone ages ago. I honestly thought they were sold back in June.

Pecsi is already on loan so not a problem.

Jaros, when fully fit, is the best goalkeeper we have after Alisson, so I'd be keeping him. Alisson is out of contract next summer, I believe.

Davies, McConnell and Bajcetic I would be selling, though.

I don't see a future for them.

Chambers is an interesting one. Personally I'd promote him to Kerkez back-up and sell Tsimikas.

We have an insane number of 20+ year olds on the books, though, who need moving on. They're not going to play, are they, so why keep them. Loans and sales needed. It's a waste of wages.

13 Aug 2026 13:26:16
This is modern football, I'm afraid. Sign up as many kids as you can and hope one or two will work out. Also, pay crazy money to buy other teams kids that seem to be working out.

13 Aug 2026 14:03:20
I agree with the op about needing to get rid of surplus players, but you can get your point across without calling them deadwood. The club gave them their contracts, so the club needs to manage them out if they don't want them any longer.

13 Aug 2026 14:06:00
I know what you mean, Jojo, but also, we need to be selling them when they don't make it. If they get to 20 and they've still not even started a Prem game, just sell them. Get the wages off the books and open a pathway for younger players from the u16's or u18's to progress.

13 Aug 2026 15:09:47
We do need a clearcut, but I think there will have been a lot of clean slates handed out this summer and everybody will have been given a chance to impress Iraola. I think we will see outgoing activity increase between now and the end of the window.

13 Aug 2026 15:25:38
Writing off the careers of 21 and 22 year-olds?
Every club needs squad players, not just for the bench in the league and Europe.
Think you're looking for problems now. The lads earned contracts because the club thought they deserved them. There's more than just a first team too.

13 Aug 2026 15:49:23
"So many players aren't even young anymore," proceeds to list off a bunch of 21 and 22 year olds! ?

14 Aug 2026 00:37:33
I'm assuming Chicken Staff is a child, because anyone in their 20s is bloody young to me, and I'm still in my 30s. Clinging onto them for a few years.
And never mind the fact some, or I'm sure all of the lads listed are very well thought of, and I'd guess nearly all will make an appearance for this season.

13 Aug 2026 10:37:33
As we get closer and closer to the season kick-off, I'd like to voice one of my concerns if that's OK. VVD is older and could potentially be even slower. Do you guys really think he can hold a high line anymore? He's starting to go like Robbo, whose legs went and he obviously didn't trust himself anymore and started dropping off, causing the high line to fail. I see VVD going the same way. I also think if he keeps blaming everyone else, and especially Kerkez, then we will have another defensive shocker of a season.

I understand that we have CB reinforcements now but do title chasing managers really swap in and out their CBs? I truly hope big Virg can improve on his very poor form last season and also on his leadership skills, coz they were almost non-existent last season. Blaming everyone else for your failings tends to be a sign that you're no longer good enough. I truly hope I'm wrong though, as we need Virgil at his impervious best to stand any chance of challenging.

Agree4

13 Aug 2026 12:47:38
Just forget Virg's form from last season. We are writing off everyone else's, so we should also allow the 35 year old who had to play the most minutes of any player in Europe some slack.

13 Aug 2026 13:14:23
Have people written off everyone else's form from last season? Seems many want Jones, Gakpo, Frimpong, Marma and Macca sold over their form. ???

13 Aug 2026 13:30:55
I agree with Mcgoveb. We can't underestimate how Slot's regime led to individual poor form. Players signed to play heavy metal football were forced to play Celine Dion softball. The question is not last year's form. It's: can they work in IA's system.

13 Aug 2026 15:57:34
Personally, I think Virg's poor form would have happened to some extent no matter the style of play, or how many minutes he had. He made errors and bad decisions early on in the season, long before the full effects of fatigue or Slot ball took hold.

13 Aug 2026 16:08:26
And yet he still topped or was near the top of so many metrics for a CB last season. mans a legend. Has lost a bit of pace but he's certainly not slow. He's just not supersonic anymore.

Should find it much easier this year with everyone in front of him so much fitter and sharper than last year. I expect a big season from Virg this year.

13 Aug 2026 15:53:40
It's not ok McGoveb, there'll be none of that around here. You're to keep your toxic negativity to yourself and wait in silence until things improve.

14 Aug 2026 00:40:01
Of course, Virg is on the decline, he's still the best cb we have though, and still one of the best in the world. I wouldn't be wishing for greener pastures just yet.
