A funny thing I seen on YouTube was people discussing what songs the fans of rival teams are going to sing for man city when they play them.

It's the Premier League they are in trouble with not the FA although theoretically the FA could claim compensation from
ManCity for cheating in the FA cup and taking prize money.

I believe they should be forced to sell as well. If Roman Abramovich could have been forced to sell then there is precedent for the PL to enforce it on City's owners too. Granted the circumstances were different but they have set the precedent that being forced to sell is a legitimate punishment and course of action.

The fit and proper test will never catch people who lie which is what City have been found guilty of. The Premier League could potentially bar the owners from running a club in the Premier League on the basis they have cheated the whole system then lied so cannot be seen as trustworthy or fit to run a club.

The owners, execs, and anybody else complicit should all be banned from the PL, no doubt, but the league will likely want to minimize bad press and probably issue penalties through points deductions, fines and a tranfer ban, I would be surprised if they went much further than that, but they should.

Titles should be stripped and awarded to runners-up, they should be relegated 2 divisions and start next season with a massive points deduction, they should be hit with a 5 year transfer ban, pay compensation to pretty uch every other team in the league and anybody involved—owners, excs, managers, players, they should all be banned from the league.

Following the announcement regarding City by the PL, what ramifications could it mean to participation in Europe?

If they are punished by the PL (which looks highly likely according to some) could they face further punishment from UEFA??

Thy can't face punishment by Uefa just because the PL found them guilty. In fact, Uefa found them guilty of similar offences in the past too but they couldn't take action because it was time-barred.

UEFA could bring further charges based on the findings of the PL investigation which has found City guilty of failing to cooperate. The implication being that UEFA did not have full disclosure of the evidence. However, it's seems that there are statutes of limitations in the UEFA rule book which may mean further charges are out of scope.

It was the statute of limitations that allowed Cities appeal to CAS. The lesson from the UEFA investigation is City eventually agreed to negotiate the punishment so watch this space.

Man City if guilty:

Force a change of ownership in the same way Chelsea had it, with all funds raised set aside to pay legal bills and remunerations to all future claimants.

Strip all titles and trophies.

Nobody who has ever worked for the club in the boardroom or in senior management positions can ever work in English football again.

Incoming transfer ban for 10 windows.
They can sell players to pay legal fees and lawsuits.

Points deduction of 114 points starting immediately and continuing each season for the next 3 seasons.

All players u21 are free agents.

Expulsion from all domestic cups for 5 years.

Jail time for anyone who's committed a crime.

Take back the stadium into public ownership.

This would strip the club of all the sponsors they've cheated to receive, strip them of every edge they've built into the club by cheating and remove all legacy assets obtained by cheating. Whilst providing no hope for the immediate future, no chance of winning a trophy, no chance of anything but relegation, no home to call their own.

I didn't know that. If he was senior management then he too should be banned from football in England. If he was a nobody there then I'm sure he wasn't involved in the corporate fraud.

But I'm sure I made that clear in the words in the post. I didn't add: unless they now work for Liverpool then they should be exempt because that is dumb. If he meets the criteria then ban him.

I see lots of posts saying that 2nd place should get the title instead of 1st place. Is this the right way to do this or should the league table be altered to take out all results from the City games?

It may not make a difference between 1st and 2nd in a lot of seasons, but interested in peoples thoughts about this? Could certainly make more differences in lower parts of the table.

No. The reallocation of titles is both meaningless and wrong. We all know City cheated and we knew they were when the won the titles. The game needs to move on and not lower itself by becoming a game decided in court rooms. VAR is bad enough thank you.

Just on city again, is the appeal process going to be a quick one or will it drag out. I'm sure I read somewhere the appeal process can be carried out quickly and therefore dealt with very quickly and punishment given.

I read somewhere its 14 days and that there should be no further appeal. Somehow i think many many people will be very disappointed with the punishments dished out.

Keeping my expectations very low ASB, that they will get a slap on the wrist. At worst a points deduction which means they won't qualify for Europe this season but survive relegation.

They have 14 days to appeal but we don't know when the clock started to tick. Seems likely it was last Thursday given this is when the other prem teams were told the verdict. Beyond that my understanding is the appeal will be heard over a 13 week period ( again not clear when that starts) and there is no appeal to CAS allowed. I'm not sure what would happen if City won the appeal.

I assume that the league could appeal the appeal but my guess is the first appeal would draw this to a close and if City lost there will be an endless court battle with City claiming the rules are anti competitive by which time the football family would be so fed up with the City ownership that there would be a good chance of a class action against City.
