A report online says that Al hillal fc want Luis Diaz for 50 million, I expect it's nonsense and jumping on the Saudi bandwagon by hack journo's myself.
50 mill tho would be tempting considering he only scored 11 goals all last season, hasn't replaced mane for my by a stretch.

I'm assuming you mean games played since he joined us because he only played 21 games for us last season, but it's a bit disingenuous to slate Diaz for only scoring 11 goals in that time considering he joined midway through the year in his first season and he was injured for the vast majority of his second.

Mate 50m would be nowhere near enough - his feet are so quick, he could find a yard of space inside a phone box that lad. He’s had really bad luck with injuries and as for ‘replacing Mane’, Mane was a world class player, able to play multiple positions and bag plenty of goals - we were so lucky to have him and he’s a legend, you can’t ‘replace’ him with another legend within 18 months.

Sorry, but I disagree on selling Diaz. For me he walks into our first 11.

I mean there’s no left winger in the world bar Vinicius who could replace what Mane was in 2019 at his absolute peak. Diaz was poor when he came back from injury but brilliant before tbat. Feel he has to start next season well with Gakpo Jota Darwin Doak all capable of playin down the left. Lots of competition.

Al Hilal may 'want' Luis Diaz. The story claims that they will bid €50M. They will be laughed at with a bid like that just like El Ettifaq were when they thought that we would let them have Henderson for free.
Diaz will be one of the first names on the team sheet now that be is back to full fitness.
To help put the 'poor' stats being mentioned earlier into context, he has 11 Goals and 9 assists in 47 games. In comparison last season Grealish had 5 goals and 7 assists in 50 games.

I assume it's rubbish, but then again the other Saudi team did want Hendo for free. Just as well i'm not in charge of transfers because if true, i would of just put the phone down after hearing such a ridiculous offer. Diaz is worth at least 100mil all day long, not that i would want to see him sold anyway.

Some rumours you can just relax about. This is one of them. Can't see anything happening with Diaz. Could always be wrong but I see this one at like 1% chance. Similar to MBappe moving to Liverpool. He is under contract and his potential is through the roof even if he hasn't posted huge numbers yet.

Well we are stacked at that position but Diaz is one of the last ones I’d sell. I’d let Jota go before him.

The only concern I have is he was injured for a LONG time and I wonder if he’ll ever really recover his previous tireless form?

Diaz is too good to be selling mate. Although I do believe the reason we’re buying midfielders with decent goal return is because Diaz, Gakpo and Nunez are not what you’d call deadly.

I like Diaz, but I'd listen to offers. I find him redundant with Gakpo in the squad, and I like Gakpo more as a player. I think the attacking group also only needs 4 main guys in the rotation, and we'd be better served with someone who doesn't need as many minutes to be happy (similar to Origi or Minamino) being the 5th option. Any Diaz funds raised would better served strengthening other areas of the squad, like the 6 or centerbacks.

I'm fully aware that this is a very unpopular opinion.

The comparisons are boring, IMO. Diaz is more of an out and out winger than Mane was. Also, Mane could play all 3 positions in the forward line as well as the no. 10 role for Senegal, things Diaz for now cannot do. In the future? Maybe.

Sometimes a manager may replace a player with another one with different strengths cos he fits the evolution of what the manager wants the team to be so IMO, these cmparisons btw Mane and Diaz are a bit tedious cos there are so many variables to consider.

Oh and a big, fat No to Diaz going to Al-Hilal. The Saudis can do one.

First of all, I’d consider selling Diaz if they made an offer of £ 150m (the 50 m quoted in the article was euros) . If they want a 24 year old who is just entering the prime years of his career then they need to pay. If they did make an offer of £150m then I’d stick another £25-50m on to the price we want.

Secondly, there are nothing wrong with comparisons but they don’t mean much if you aren’t comparing like for like. Diaz is an out and out left sided attacker, Mané could play (and did at one time or another) across the front three.
