Out of interest ed25, would you have Trent starting for Everton at right back? Would you take a gamble on an ultra attacking right back at risk of sometimes leaving the back line open?

{Ed025's Note - im old school FF and think the main priority for a full back should be able to defend, its great if they can get forward and support the attack but not at all costs, trent is very talented but lacks focus and needs a good kick up the arse imo, i would have him at everton of course but he would have to lose the attitude mate..

Trent is terrible. Just my opinion and I’m entitled to it. Doesn’t make me any less of a fan or a bad person. Just don’t rate him at all. I could name about 10 Rb’s in the premier league I’d rather have at the club.

Thanks for the reply Ed, very interested in your view point. I actually think Trent plays better with ‘the attitude’ or ‘swagger’ as I’ve referred to it before.

Last night I thought he lacked confidence and his crosses seemed to suffer for it. I did love his attempt at the ‘Origi’ corner with Salah though. It didn’t quite come off, but if it had we might have played with a bit more energy and belief. Both of which were unfortunately lacking last night.

{Ed025's Note - you might not think so FF but im a big fan of trent, its just that he does my bleedin head in at times mate, he has the ability to be one of the best on the planet but his body language is dreadful and half the time doesn,t look like he gives a toss, a bit of tough love from klopp or one of the senior pro,s would not go amiss imo and maybe just maybe he could fulfill that potential..

I totally agree with Trent needing a good kick up the arse, if he wasn't "playing" right back would he get into anyone here's team selection in a different position?
For me it would be a big no. He seems to spend half the game asleep.

ed025, agree with you. fullbacks should be able to defend. taa is a wingback, not a fullback. best wingback in the pl. as a fullback he's bang ordinary.

{Ed025's Note - for me Brisbane a wingback is just a fullback with ideas of grandeur mate. A bit like a defensive centre forward. But I am a bit of a dinosaur I suppose ?..

Ed025, Trippier is the best full back in my opinion. Complete defender and great at set pieces on top of that.

Not fully convinced by James defensively. Similar to Trent in my opinion but with the added advantage of usually playing ahead of a back 3, so not being exposed quite as much for his defensive flaws.

I really like Ben White since his move to right back as well. He's been superb. Lacks a bit offensively though.

{Ed025's Note - i do like trippier as well MK, i think england are well off in that department mate and if trent got his act together im sure he would be in the mix as well..

I'm not very sure about Trippier myself, MK. He seems like a Trent lite to me. Suspect defensively but good offensively. Agree about James though. Looks good but plays ahead of a back 3 so not a lot of defensive responsibility. He also has had his fair share of injuries and hasn't pushed on as he should after his debut.

I was thinking of Tomiyasu from Arsenal actually. Solid defensively, decent going forward, and extremely hard working. I would definitely love to have him here.

Any chance the club are looking for any right backs. I know there are a few names kicking about, but just wanted to know if there was anything solid. A real solid right back and a great number 6 would make some difference to that team. Ideally there would be more incomings, but for me, that would be 2 areas that Klopp would need to be prioritising

I joke, but realistically, that boy does not even frequent his own half even for a fleeting visit. I can’t watch him anymore. It’s so frustrating

any plans of looking at fullbacks? It was another pathetic display from Trent yet again. It seems like it is the most problematic position in the team, where most of the goals are conceded. Maybe I’m watching a different team play but, this guy Trent is beyond coaching, he is simply not good enough. Would love a proper right back to come I . Just wanted to know if there are any rumours for replacing him, thanks
